They showed up exactly when they said they would. The 50 year old maple in our front yard reached over our house, driveway, sidewalk and rose bushes and near power lines and a young tree. They took it down carefully and never once did a branch or log hit anything but the lawn. After they removed all the wood they had our lawn cleared of any trace of the work. I was off the property and had left money for them. It turns out they "did not have the right saw" and promised to come back the next day to finish the work. Which never happened. We used Trees of Eden to remove several trees in our yard. They got the job done in a week like they quoted and we paid the amount they originally quoted for all trees. During their work here a limb from a tree they were working on took the top of a tree closer to our house. The top knocked a few shingles off and hit our gutter causing a part of it to separate from the house. The tree company wanted to fix it themselves. We said we wanted a quote from someone who works with gutters and roofs. We did just that and Trees of Eden took that off our bill. We found out after they were done on a day we weren't home while they were working that a tree, the top of the tree landed in our neighbors yard crushing his toolbox and bucket he uses in his garden. The tree company didn't tell us, our neighbor did. We gave our neighbor the tree company's number, he called and nothing has been done about it. We called ourselves for a response, no response. A year ago I hired Joshua and his company to remove a redwood tree and grind the stump at my mother in laws house. In the process the lift truck damaged the road when 2 of its stabilizers put large indents in the asphalt. Joshua assured me that he would take care of the repairs. He put some patch in the indents and left saying he had to do it in layers. He never came back. The HOA contacted me shortly after and said that patching was not OK and that the asphalt had to be cut out and repaired professionally. Joshua also told me that I had to contact 811 to mark the utility lined before he could grind the stump. When I called I was told that the company doing the work had to call. I called Tree of Eden back and informed them of the that fact and that they needed to have the road repairs done correctly. A week later the lines were marked but Joshua never came back to grind the stump. I was forced to hire a company to repair the road as my HOA was going to sue me. I documented the multiple bids and invoice for the repairs and mailed to the business but the they came back s not received. I then in October went to the Home and Garden show and handed the packet of documentation to them but his wife sat the table just got mad and through the packet in the corner. I have heard nothing from them since. Now I have to go through the hassle of the small claims process to get reimbursed for the road repairs. Joshua seemed like a nice guy and was the cheaper estimate of the job at the time. Just be ware that when they made a mistake and did property damage they were no where to be found and refused to remedy the situation after I contacted them. read more

The guys were very friendly, super quick to schedule, and knowledgable about trees...but...we hired them to remove a 70(ish) foot pine tree that wasn't healthy. In the process of cutting it, they knocked several branches off of a nearby tree, to the point that there are very few branches on that side of the tree. They also knocked off a large branch of a peach tree that was a good 20 feet away. And they left a pine tree branch super high up in a tall tree and it isn't something we can remove and they knew it was there while they had their bucket truck and did not remove it. Anyway, if you have one tree in your yard and nothing to destroy, then they are probably going to do a fine job. Otherwise, pay a bit more money and hire someone else who will take care to try and avoid surrounding trees. read more

Good luck getting them to call you back within weeks of your attempts to contact them. I understand people get busy, so I gave them a lot of leeway when I attempted to contact them for a quote and then for service. We only got a hold of them because our neighbor was using their services and asked them to get a quote for us the same time they were out do quote the neighbor. So great, got the quote. It was supposed to be $750 for the service we wanted. Scheduling didn't go smoothly as they didn't return calls or emails. At all. I tried multiple times. So when they finally made it out for the neighbor's house, they apologized and said they'd be happy to fulfill the quote we got on our trees. Great, I just wanted the job done! The owner tells me "It'll be $1000", I agree (because the quote went to my husband and I didn't know the previous amount discussed), and they do the job. They also cut into our sprinkler pipe while grinding a stump, so that's another cost out of our pocket to clean up their mess... So, they quoted us $250 cheaper to do the job, came out as a surprise (almost, very little notice), and we couldn't get a hold of them to speak about the discrepancy in the bill or anything else. Not a great experience. The owner and his worker were nice enough, hence the extra star. I really should have listened to my instincts and not hired them when they can't even return a phone call or email. If they're dodging you, take the hint. read more

I had them cut down the 11 trees that could potentially fall in the street. They fell them in the street and blocked half the road with them just put out a cone. I didn't get too excited because you could still get by on one side. They stayed like that for more than a month. I called them about getting the trees taken away and they said they would follow up. After more than another month, they ended up in the ditch down by the street. They must have been in the way of some big piece of equipment. So I called Tree of Eden again and they have never returned my call. I can't deal with a company that doesn't follow up with problems or return calls. Having the owner on the job was important to me because Joshua knew exactly what I had in mind for the job. Very frustrated with this company. We had a couple places come out and give a quote. I met them all at a local garden/home show. We were most impressed all the way around with the owner Josh and his great ladies at the home show. His price quotewas right where we expected. The tree that needed trimming is HUGE! It is a pecan tree right behind the house. My husband was there during the day while the crew was there working (works swing shift, left at 3pm). Unfortunately he had to leave for work. Prior to leaving he noticed the crew had taken out a couple pieces of the fence on the property line. The guy in charge offered to take a little money off the bill when approached. My husband left a check, paid in full, minus the discount to fix the fence. When he went out to check things out the next morning it looked like they packed up and left as soon as he did. Our tree is now 2/3 trimmed, and lopsided. Not only was the fence broken, but so were several boards on the deck, and they completely destroyed a section of the sprinkler system including a head and piping. The least of our complaints was them offering to leave some wood chips, which we thought was great, they only left about a five gallon bucket worth . I attempted calling several times, asking them to return my call to work out some sort of compromise, no response. I tried emailing, no response. We are reasonable, rational people. I have worked in the service industry for years. I have been that lady taking a call from a frustrated customer. I have tried for almost a year to get some sort of response - crickets! Josh came out and gave me a free estimate and advised me about how to keep my irrigation from getting damaged by the tree removal, even if he did not do the work. They came with a request to cut two trees and trim the other trees so that the branches would not interfere with my satellite. They did a good job cutting there trees and some of the branches and a decent enough job cleaning up after themselves but:they trimmed only one side of the offending branch and when I called to ask them to return and trim the other branch, telling them I did not expect them to do it for free they did not return my calls. I did receive a call saying Joshua was out of town in Texas picking up some equipment and would call when he got back in town. He did not and when i called again I was only able to leave messages which were never returned. Called North valley tree service to take care of the problem. read more
