When we built our house we had a beauty specimen olive shipped and craned into a specific spot in the front of our home. This tree was like a baby to me - I loved it and wanted it to thrive. It sadly struggled the first couple Of years until Nick and his crew saved the day. They continue to care for this tree but not because it's sick - under their care it's just getting bigger and better and they have stayed invested to keep it healthy beyond the trauma stage. First off let me just say Nick is awesome. Me and my wife just a bought a house and wanted some tree's planted in our backyard to give it some personality. We had no idea of what kind of tree's to plant until we met Nick of course. He took us to nursery and explained which trees would grow tall, which would grow out, which ones were evergreen and which ones were not. We decided to plant 4 crepe myrtles and were perfect. Nick also convinced us to mulch the area because it would be better for the trees. We also got a japanese maple just because it looked so cool. Great arborist service! We were referred to TreeCare LA by our neighbor, who hired them to do work on a tree that is on our property but overhangs their yard. (5 star neighbors, too!) The tree hadn't been trimmed for many years, and we had just been advised to cut it away from our house by rat exterminators anyway, so I arranged a consultation with TreeCare LA while they were doing the work on the other side of the fence. Nick, the head arborist was awesome. He talked to us about what the tree needed, and walked my entire property with me to point out what else could be done. We had them do everything. When the work was done it was done quickly and to our satisfaction. The crew were all very pleasant fellows, and they cleaned up after themselves. It's also worth noting that the company staff is extremely good at responding to questions/concerns over email or by phone. I can't speak to their value/pricing because we didn't compare with other arborist services (something I always do when hiring a contractor) - but all in all we are very happy with their work. read more

From beginning to end a great experience! They arrived at the expected time. The entire crew was courteous and able to answer my questions. They took the time to meet my dog and make me feel comfortable with having them on the property. I had tree removal and trimming and shrub pruning. I have a humongous pine tree in my front yard that probably hasn't been professionally pruned in over 30 years. Nick and his crew did a phenomenal job of clearing out the decades of dead wood (and this involved some serious tree climbing) and pruning back the branches that extended out over our entire front yard and driveway. The tree looks great. The crew were all very professional and kind and cleaned up every scrap of trimmings. Other reviews have mentioned difficulty in getting in touch with Nick, but I had no problem whatsoever. Oh, and his fee was about $700 less than two other arborists I checked out. Nick, Karina, and all their staff could not be more helpful in determining the best course of action for our trees. They are quick to respond, and Nick gives generously to answer questions, and explain things with so much patience. In the beginning, I did not realize that there is a fee for Nick's initial consultation, which was enormously thorough. When I asked about it, they waived the fee, no questions asked. In my notes sometime later, I realized that when we first made the appointment, they had informed me about the fee, which is applied towards future work. Our big beautiful ash tree is one of the main reasons we purchased this house. We will do anything to make sure it stays healthy and happy! As renters, a lack of maintenance caused a tree shading our apartment to come crashing down - so we know that regular upkeep is key to preserving the beauty and benefits of all trees. We hired a consulting arborist to do a tree survey for our new home (highly recommended) and hired a different outfit to do some needed work. That company recommended Nick and his team to clear out the dirt impeding the root flare on the ash, which went really well. So when our original tree care company changed ownership we switched to TreeCareLA for all our tree needs. We need to get a trim on the ash every 3-5 years, and they just did a nice clean-up of all our trees and overgrown shrub. The whole crew is swell as can be, and we're happy we found them! We had our trees cut and pruned yesterday. The team from TreeCareLA showed up like a well oiled machine. All with masks, a uniform look and all greeted me, very friendly. They had posted for their parking with the city a couple days before. I think these guys actually like trees, they were looking at the Grande Dame in the front yard and commenting what an awesome tree. Colin, Tyler, Evan, Joseph, Ismael and Chris worked like a team, they climbed into the tree, clipped, cut and handled everything with care. After they finished they called me out to approve everything, that we had talked about earlier, tipped their hats and left. You could not tell they were ever here. The cleaned and swept everything away. With the amount of arborist and truck and equipment they showed up with it was like a full on production and with style. I recommend them highly. Tree maintenance is an overlooked aspect of home ownership. And using an arborist? Is it necessary? There is no shortage of guys in pickup trucks with chain saws claiming to provide expert tree service. Who's good? Like with any contractor for hire - no two are the same. And, deciding by price can be your biggest mistake. I've lost trees to bad pruning and poor communication. When TCLA came along, I saw they had a different approach so I watched carefully. Eight years later, I only wished I had known them sooner. There are growing pains which can show up in scheduling. They continue to work on that. However that is a tiny price to pay for having our trees are properly maintained. For us, it's their surgical pruning with what's best for the tree at the center of every conversation. In some cases that may mean no pruning. When they do work, it's done quietly and efficiently - very professional. A big plus overall. Sure, this review is about marketing but in the big picture the trees they work on are much better for it and that's good for all of us. read more
