The customer in front of me ordered 7 drinks. She calls for help on the walkie talkie and goes to make the drinks. Her helper comes to help and after getting around halfway through, then comes over to take the orders. They were out of large cups so I got regular instead. Asked for 50 percent sweet with boba for 2 different drinks. Mine tasted watered down and my daughter's drink tasted like it was half full of syrup. It was sickeningly sweet. Boba was half dissolved like when you reheat boba in your drink the next day. Anyways, they were disappointing $7 drinks. We drank about half and tossed the rest. Would not come again.

I've had plenty of taro drinks, and this honestly just tasted like flavored powder, similar to the ones from Noodle Bar or Chopstix. Same could be said for the horchata. The drinks also looked nothing like the photos, which was really disappointing. Toppings are also $1-$2 each. My family spent over $40 for 3 drinks... I also remember this place had a Bay Area location with pretty poor reviews, which is exactly why I never bothered trying it back then. It looks like that location has since closed. Only good thing is their service. Do yourself a favor and save your money. If you're willing to make the drive, there are so many better boba shops in San Jose that actually taste good and don't charge outrageous prices for mediocre drinks.

I built my own açaí, with an açaí base, with better breakky (granola. Strawberry and blueberry) and I added almond butter, almonds and bananas. It was great. The fruits were fresh with rich flavor, and the granola and almonds were crisp and crunchy. Mixed with almond butter and it was a perfect mix. I plan to make this a must have each time I visit Carmel.
