Met a girlfriend for lunch and while her Birria Tacos (beef, onion, cilantro, corn tortillas, salsa roja) were disappointingly underfilled, my Mediterranean Bowl (grilled chicken, harrissa carrots, red peppers, turmeric cauliflower, feta, figs, garlic yogurt vinaigrette) was much more substantive. Onion Rings (served with house dressing) were well-fried. You're paying for the ambience more than anything else. I used to come here a lot when there wasn't a section for no computers and it used to be a decent enough study area. I'd prefer starbucks over their beverages and their food items are pretty basic. Also the wifi hardly works. Regardless this place was cool until they made sections for no computers which makes this place super crowded even earlier in the morning. One thing Ive noticed is how rude the staff has become, especially the older male managers. They're so manners or etiquette in telling me and a friend that we couldn't sit in the out door seating area when we had just arrived and were trying to find any place to use our laptops. He was so rude we decided to leave and he watched us like a hawk until we drove off. As we were driving off, I noticed other outdoor seating all through the building's perimeter so I figured it had nothing to do with this business. I didn't want to be rude and just sit there so I looked around to see if any workers were there to ask if I was allowed to sit in these empty tables. While standing outside a building to see if there were workers inside for 2.5 seconds another man from across the street comes out and very rudely asked if he could help me. He was one of the managers from treehouse and I asked him if this was a place I could study and he looked at me like I was dumb and he was very disrespectful in cutting me off. He was watching me drive off like I was a delinquent (I'm just a girl who's 5 feet with a ucsd backpack clearly looking like a student who wanted to study) so I'm not sure what threat I looked like. I felt very ashamed for asking but I really wasn't trying to be a nuisance and even after their rude comments I was very quick to say sorry for being a bother. Reflecting back, I didn't deserve to be spoken to like that and the staff should work on being kinder especially since kindness costs nothing. read more

The food and beverage options are solid though they are low on vegetarian options. The system worked pretty well. You order at the counter and they'll text you when your food is ready. I have to say this is probably one of the best co-working space in the area, maybe even in San Diego (atleast out of the ones I've tried). It's a little hidden, you need to walk past the gym and head up the stairs to find the entrance. What really stood out to me is how big the space is. There's every kind of seating you can think of, including tables and chairs for small and big groups, high top tables, standing desks, comfortable couches to chill, even couches with tables! There are a lot of tables inside and outside. I ordered a latte which was good and an avocado toast which was a little disappointing because it was cold, like refrigerated cold, not just room temperature which I wasn't expecting. I wish they had mentioned that upfront, I would have chosen something else. But overall I would come back here for their amazing space. read more

I ended up parking in the cul de sac and walking past the parking garage and up the stairs to get into the restaurant. It really has beautiful and modern interiors, and lots of seating! Love the architecture and tall ceilings and large windows. Half of the restaurant is reserved for dining only and the other half is the study/work space. I will say that the working space was packed when I arrived around 1pm on Friday. All inside tables were taken so we had to sit on a bar seat, which wasn't the most comfortable and not close to any outlets. There was a lot of outdoor seating but most in the sun. It did start to clear out after a couple of hours though. Generally noisy due to a lot of people in the space but nothing headphones couldn't drown out. And I actually don't mind the hustle and bustle of a cafe environment I ordered a mediterranean bowl ($15) and cucumber mint cooler ($2 with the bowl). I always get extra chicken but I probably didn't need to because there was a lot of chicken already! I like the unique and fresh ingredients in the bowl. I did find the chicken to be dry though. The drink was also a little too sweet for my liking. It would have been delicious with lemon maybe to turn into a lemonade so the sour flavors balance the sweet. i'Id be interested to try a different dish though! read more

Okay this spot has turned into a spot I really enjoy going to when I have a lot of work to get done. It is a total hub for those that are wanting to work or study and is honestly a really relaxing place to be because everyone is always head down in a book or laptop so it is quiet. I love the variety of the little shop they have to grab a quick snack or drink as well as the cafe area with coffee and tea and then also a bar that has some tasty bites and drinks to enjoy as well. This is one of my new top cafes in San Diego! The vibes are immaculate. It's spacious, aesthetic, well designed with high ceilings, plenty of seating, natural light, and outlets. It's the perfect place to stop by for lunch or get work done as there's some background sound but nothing super loud. They have a dining only section and another section where you can pull out your laptop. There's a mixture of tables, couches, etc. not to mention outdoor seating. I'm in love with the space! The food is decent and could be a bit better in my honest opinion which is the only reason I took off a star. I had a Mediterranean bowl and the rice was pretty dry and was in chunks, and some of the ingredients felt a bit overpowering. My friend who got the fries said they were a bit too salty. Treehouse is a co-working space located in Sorrento Valley with all-day dining and a cafe. The space is divided into two sections with one side for general use and the other for dining only. Even split in half, there's usually a lot of tables open but if you need an outlet, make sure to come early because those are limited. They also have a lot of outdoor seating and comfortable patio furniture...perfect if you need a break to just soak up the sun! Noise is normal for a public place and if you can tune it out or use it as white noise, then it shouldn't be an issue. Pretty much everyone is there to work so you won't have groups talking loudly. Lighting is great because of the huge floor-to-ceiling windows letting in a ton of natural light. But as the sun starts to set, there are windows without shades so you might get blinded depending on where you sit. I haven't had the chance to fully try their menu but the fries are very good, especially with the garlic aioli dip! And the cafe is pretty solid. They have all of the basic drinks and some interesting syrup and foam flavors (like pandan). They also have beers on tap and wine so this could be a great place to hang out right after work! read more

One of my favorite coworking spaces yet! The overall vibe resembles a bougie cafeteria of a big boy tech company. It's absolutely huge with plenty of seating options both indoors and outdoors. From community tables to cozy booths and bar seating, there's no shortage of choice here. Not to mention that the decor is simplistically beautiful with tons of huge windows that can open. Their food and drink options are also quite impressive! They have your usual coffee, tea, and pastry bar. During lunch hours, they have a slew of lunch options- pizzas, sandwiches, soups, bowls, and more. They also have a little market in the corner stocked with snacks that's open throughout the day. Came here for happy hour after the first 2 places I tried to go were closed for private events (this was just before christmas). it felt like a college lounge but with a bar. People were scattered throughout the place all hard at work / studying. The best place to work or study! The space is massive and so much seating. I ended up sitting at the bar, but they also has a counter where you can order appetizers, burgers, salads and more. They offer a full coffee bar and my iced toffee crunch latte was delicious, as was my matcha latte. My friend, Hannah, and I shared brussel sprouts and chicken tenders. Everything tasted great! Met a friend here for lunch....it was the first visit for each of us. Place is super cool, spacious co-working space. Super large with nice big patio with a lot of comfortable seating. The inside has a snack bar and they have a bar and serve food as well. I had the Mediterranean bowl and enjoyed it. Small menu but nice selections. Basically you walk up to order and they call you when it's ready so not a ton of service but they are attentive when you need anything. Treehouse is a new, healthy restaurant that is in a beautiful building. There are lots of windows and seats, both inside and outside, to relax or work. They have a smaller menu, which I prefer so they can focus on perfecting those items. My guy got the Ahi Tuna Burger, which he said was not what he expected and only okay. There wasn't much flavor to it overall. We got the Onion Rings and Crispy Fries, which were both extremely salty and the fries could definitely have been crispier based on the name. I ended up getting the Mediterranean Grain Bowl with falafels subbing chicken. I actually ended up sending it back because the falafels were extremely salty and everything was cold. The chef said it was normal for all the veggies to be cold, but it was weird since you can tell they were cooked beforehand. The chef ended up remaking my dish exactly how I wanted it and it was perfect and came in a nicer presentation. My falafels were hot, crispy and not salty. The entire bowl tasted healthy and fresh, which is exactly what I was wanting by ordering it. The dressing was weird so I'm glad I got it on the side. I think they can really become quite a popular place. They have a few kinks to work out (aka not overdoing it on the salt), but I believe they'll get there. 3 stars for overall food. This place is a little hard to find so look for the "now open" sign by the giant windows. The windows let in a lot of natural light, which I enjoyed as I was eating. The cashier was very helpful with suggestions on his favorites. I chose the green chile smash burger ($14) which came with poblano sofrito, jack cheese, lettuce, caramelized onions, tomatillo, charred jalapeño aioli. I decided to make it a combo (+$5), which includes a drink and a side of your choice. I chose thai tea and crispy fries. I enjoyed my meal a lot. The smash burger was well balanced, the fries were nicely crisp, and the thai tea was refreshing. My friend got the poké bowl, and thought it was just okay. She said that she likes the traditional poké toppings more. I feel like overall, Treehouse is definitely worth checking out! I want to return, and try their pizza. read more

Treehouse is a new onsite dining collective in the middle of the Pacific Center life sciences complex of the Sorrento Mesa neighborhood. As noted by its name, wood was used extensively in the design of this massive, all-day dining space. I parked curbside on a nearby street because it wasn't clear if it was closer to the facility than from a parking garage. Some signage with directions for the public would have been beneficial. After walking up a set of external stairs, I arrived at the main entrance that had some outside chairs, sofas, and tables to the left for al fresco dining. The interior was both tall and spacious with floor to ceiling windows to maximize the natural lighting. A central bar was set up near the entrance while a service counter was in the back for taking orders. Two different menu screens listed the breakfast and lunch offerings respectively. It was early afternoon when I visited so I glanced at the lunch categories of pizza, greens, grains, and "with your hands." The last was comprised of burgers, sandwiches, and fried fare like french fries, onion rings, and chicken tenders. My choice was a Mediterranean bowl from the Grains section. The ingredients were grilled chicken, harrissa carrots, red peppers, turmeric cauliflower, pistachios, feta, figs, and apple cider vinaigrette. Not only was the mix very colorful and healthy, but the red peppers and figs were prominent. I liked the latter especially because of the chewiness and sweetness. As a bonus, I received some baked goods that were unsold for the day because the final hour of business had arrived. It's a shame that these products were going to waste if they weren't claimed. My stash was a slice of lemon pound cake, a muffin, and a croissant. I hope Treehouse can draw enough patronage from workers in the neighboring offices as it has a beautiful ambiance and layout. read more

Pretty good stuff. There's the food counter with the house-made drinks, and a coffee bar with some other options. The line at the food counter order desk can get pretty long during peak time. Then they call out the orders and you pick up. You also bus your own tables and sort out your recycling and dishes. Tipping options on the "it's going to ask you a question" tablet start at 20%. The mystery is WHO is filling this place up? Every table is taken, indoor and out, with young working people who have set up shop, taking video calls.. laptops on stands. It's weird walking around into everyone's Teams meetings and conference calls. Is it students? Qualcomm folks from next door? None of the office building appears to be in-use yet, and there are no apartments there, but there were three baby strollers. Go figure. But they should probably reserve a few tables for people having lunch? The setting is gorgeous -- super-tall ceiling, wood framing, natural light -- it's very chic, modern, and spacious. Menu is pretty short. The smashburger was pretty good! Two patties, and the green chilis version ($14) was well worth it. Not spicy at all -- don't be scared. Huge generous portion of fries. The housemade drinks are good, but pretty sweet/strong and start at +$5 in a combo. The spicy chicken sandwich is generously sized, but boy was it oily.. just a whole oil slick running off and onto the serving tray paper. Might have to dial in their temps or something because that's just too much oil-soaked batter. The "Next-Gen Life Sciences" parking structure is free right now, but clearly won't stay that way, with gates and ticket machines in place. There are 120 (!) EV car chargers, on the Powerflex pay app, or there's a pay kiosk for electricity. read more

My experience however was completely thrown off by how I was treated. As a first-time customer, I didn't realize there was a "no laptop" section because there wasn't a sign on my table (even though I later noticed some on others). While I was eating, a staff member came up to me and, in a pretty blunt and unfriendly tone, told me I could finish my food but then had to leave and move. I understand having rules about laptop use -- that's totally fine. But the way it was communicated felt unnecessarily rude and unwelcoming, especially for someone who was clearly new and already dining there. We came to visit TREE HOUSE. This location is easy to spot because it has huge, all-glass windows around it. They greeted us right away and told us they had their main menu and a small area for breakfast. We chose for a meal to get. My wife ordered a Mediterranean Combo, there were choices of Grilled chicken, falafel, or skirt steak, we chose the Skirt steak for our protein with a side of Onion Rings. I ordered an Ahi Tuna burger with a side of Onion rings. For the drinks that come with our combo, we chose Matcha Latte and Thai Tea. The Mediterranean bowl was packed and so much flavor on it. I really like my Ahi Tuna burger, that's the best one, juicy and delicious. All in all it's a great Lunch, I will come back again to this place for sure. Our family totally enjoyed everything about this place; beautiful architecture, interior, finishes, great service, excellent food. Treehouse has a beautiful open-air perch when you first see it, and once you go up the stairs you arrive at a tall light-filled space with patios on either side. In addition to the beautiful wood and windows, the menu offerings are some of the most appealing in my book. Their best drink is the dirty chai latte. Our barista Alfi was great and brought our order of portobello fries to us at a booth we sat down at. They have great appetizers and fusion influence in addition to pizza and truly good prices to match. I find the two bar counters very convenient and would love to come eat and work here again. I love visiting different coffee shops/cafes and the Treehouse was one that I saw on my fyp. There is a parking structure next to the shop that you can park at or there is also street parking available. It is located up the second floor, which you can take stairs or an elevator up. The inside was very spacious, high ceilings and plenty of seats depending on the time you come in. I went on Veterans Day and I came in early around 9 am and there were seats available, throughout the day, it got busy and I noticed people were struggling to find a seat. The downside is that it is closed weekends so if you work Monday to Friday, you may not be able to experience it. I got an iced matte latte with oat, which was a lighter green matcha. I probably wouldn't recommend it to people who are looking for a good matcha drink. read more
