THANK YOU for the very last minute (2 hours) request for a cheesecake to be extra chilled for transport after work for my dad's birthday. Much appreciated. Will be back for probably another one (for like home breakfasts...) Store is always spotless as usual and I absolutely love how spacious this location is.

Growing up as a local, I remember nagging my mom to take me out for Trees every weekend after Chinese school now as an adult with adult money, I still can't get enough! what I ordered: - oreo cheesecake - strawberry cheesecake - oat latte - cappuccino highlights: Trees sits at the heart of the local dessert scene for me and will always feel so nostalgic. The cheesecake is made fresh in-house everyday, plus I love the variety of flavours and multiple locations. The coffee is always delicious and ground by their own roasters weekly Don't even get me started on how talented their baristas are! study space: 5/5 They have lots of seating options, the space is clean, bright, and there's wifi. This location in Mount Pleasant is very easily accessible by transit which is a big plus. tip: DATE NIGHT Possibly Vancouver's most underrated date night activity. If you're looking for an inexpensive little date idea, don't sleep on their live music nights for a fun, cozy, and casual (but still very interesting and cool) date night. The curated performances by local artists are always really good and you just can't beat live music for the price of some cheesecake and coffee you have to check out their Instagram page for the show times and locations.

Cranberry Pecan Muffin + Matcha Latte

This new Trees just opened in Mount Pleasant in the space that was previously Our Town Cafe. They opened very suddenly, I walk by the building every day and noticed the logo had gone up on the windows, and just a few days later they were open... I guess the brand is popular enough that they can just trust people to show up! I am happy to see a Trees pop up in my neighbourhood since I really like their other cafes. I stopped in to check them out early Wednesday morning and enjoyed a cranberry pecan muffin and matcha latte. The matcha was fine - the actual powder used is probably about average quality, but the latte was made very well. The muffin was fantastic, though, very fresh and soft with a little bit of buttery flavour. The Trees food and drinks have never failed me before so everything is as expected here. This new location is very inviting with the interesting multi-levelled layout. The two baristas were both really friendly. There's lots of good coffee shops in Mount Pleasant so it's not like we NEEDED a Trees... but it certainly doesn't hurt to have one.

Best cheesecake, freshly baked. Just the right texture, not too sweet. The restaurant is clean and has a good lighting.

I think it was one of those Cherry Blossom Food Festivals that brought this place to my attention…read moreabout a year or two ago. Been wanting to try it for awhile and now I finally have. We ordered the following: Tiramisu Latte Caprese Bite London Fog Apple Cookie Cherry Matcha Tonic Tiramisu Sea Salt Caramel Gelato The Cherry Matcha Tonic was pretty but wasn't too crazy about the flavor. I should have just gone with my original gut instinct and chosen a hot beverage like Hojicha Latte or something like that. I was sort of thirsting for something cooler for a change though, and the Cherry Matcha Tonic was the first "cool" drink that caught my eye so I decided to go for it. Won't do that again. Everything else was good though. The Sea Salt Caramel Gelato was the star of the show! In the store there's a sign beneath their gelato section that says "Canadian Gelato Champion". I believe it after tasting the Sea Salt Caramel! They had Nama Chocolates too. I was tempted to get some but...only so much a person's wallet and waistline can handle at one time. Will try the Nama Chocolate some other time. You can order in person here, or you can place an "Express" order at the Kiosk. We tried both ways of ordering. Ordered at the counter first and then after finished my Cherry Matcha Tonic decided I wanted to try the Sea Salt Gelato so then tried ordering that from the Kiosk. Most of the parking in this area is paid but I lucked out and got a free spot right around the corner from this place!

Wow, a new cafe in the neighbourhood. This coffee shop caught my attention for its beautiful…read moreaesthetic and it's even open till 10pm. I could tell even from outside that it's a popular work and study type of coffee shop with your free wifi and outlets. I hope this post doesn't give it away and make it way too crowded for me to find a seat next time. There's a steady flow of people visiting the stores while I was there on a weekday between late afternoon and early evening but there's always extra seat for anyone new looking for a desk to work or chat with friends. A few could be better are the pricing and temperature. They offer free oat milk substitute and -$0.35 for bringing your own cup but no more employee discount. And it was so cold in there, I could see a lot of people kept their winter jackets on, I don't think it's a heating issue but the constant windy seems to suggest the AC is on rather than the heater, oh wells Im out of there now. For that reason, unless I'm bundled up, it'll be a hard sale to be back again! I got a hojicha latte and it as pretty good, perfect sweetness and temperature for my cold with no ice. The barista was super great to work with.

An update to my previous review. We heard that the London Fog drink was invented in Vancouver in…read more1997. Knowing how good 49th Parallel is with coffee I thought I'd try their version of the London Fog. I wasn't disappointed. In fact it was best London Fog I've ever had. I've had them at other places but I've never seen a preparation like 49th. They use loose leaf Earl Gray tea in a tall paper tea bag. They put the bag in your cup pour the steamed milk in and the tea steeps right into the milk. It's the smoothest London Fog I've had and isn't cloyingly sweet like many I've had.

I was in need of a snack and this was a short walk from our hotel. 49th Parallel is well known for their thoughtfully sourced, house-roasted coffees and their cult-favorite donuts, but they also offer a small menu of sandwiches if you're looking for something more filling. It wasn't too busy when we got there, though most of the tables were taken. We ordered a mix of sweet and savory: the chestnut brûlée donut, a salted caramel old fashioned, and a couple of breakfast sandwiches--the Doug and the Cascadia--both served on soft, buttery brioche buns. My other half also grabbed an Americano to go with it all. The chestnut brûlée donut was my fav of the bunch. The chestnut flavor was perfectly balanced--nice and light. The sandwiches were also good, especially thanks to that pillowy soft brioche. Overall, 49th Parallel was the perfect stop for a small, simple snack! Would recommend.
