The main reason I rate this place a 5 star is the staff. I bought a bike here in February. The salesperson was great and even gave me a follow up call to make sure everything was good with the bike. I then had an issue with my bike in April. The manager, I wish I remembered his name, took care of me and got the bike fixed. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone looking for a midrange and up bicycle. The one downside is their selection is a little light, but if you're looking for something specific they can order it for you. Great staff and service will keep me coming back here. read more

I think if you want to get into cycling, this would be the place to start. The staff here is very friendly and attentive. No lie - I've sat in this store for an entire day to watch the staff interact with their customers and I rarely saw an unhappy customer. Usually, the unhappy ones are people with unrealistic expectations about bicycles. If you are realistic (in that a carbon bike will be more expensive than your Huffy), the staff will work with you and your budget to maximize your cycling potential. Everyone is very knowledgeable and won't BS you if they don't know the answer - they'll just refer you to some other staff member that does. I have bought 2 bicycles from this store (and a ton of other accessories) and if could, I'd buy 2 more. But my wife and my common sense won't let me. read more

Went to Bicycles Plus today to find out a bit more about converting my old road bike to a single gear/fixie (we don't ride much and started out pretty clueless). They have a pretty big selection from what I can tell, but the staff there are the real selling point. One guy sat down and looked through craigslist with us for at least 20 minutes to try and find a good frame for my boyfriend, and the other took his number and said he'd ask around to see if anyone he knew was selling an old bike. They seem to really enjoy bikes and are quite knowledgeable, and they don't try to pressure you into buying anything. Nice people :) read more

I think this place is awesome. They've perfectly restored and upgraded 2 second hand bikes for me. I've also purchased a new bike from them. I buy accessories and ask them to install parts I've purchased elsewhere. The bike I bought from them was less than Trek catalog price (to me, that's awesome). Their accessories prices are about what you would expect. They really listen to the customer and pay attention to what I'm asking for, and they deliver. I've had them replace handlebars, install tubes and tires, replace shifter, straighten derailleur, install saddle, fix gears twice, etc. They can do it all. Listen to them when they talk about their service pricing and have them do multiple parts all at the same time. It can really save you a bundle. read more

When I took it into Bicycles Plus everyone was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The mechanic diagnosed my problem, quoted me a price, and after I agreed, quickly fixed my bike. Great service! I've been to Richardson Bike Mart, and this place beats them hands down in service. They don't have the elitist attitude, because they work for you to become a return customer. I purchased a new road bike from them last fall, so I brought my roof bike rack in for them to check my installation from when I had taken it off and reinstalled it myself. It took two of them at least 30 minutes to fix because I have a hard to fit Mini Cooper. (It took the first original shop an hour.) They didn't charge me. (I had purchased it elsewhere in 2008.) They just asked that I come back. I highly recommend this shop. read more

Customer service is a lost art. I go into bike shops all the time, just not bicycles plus and this was another reason why. I went there because my road bike had a flat and I needed a tube. Got some help got the tube and out the door. Installed the tube and all of a sudden it blow up. Went back to the shop expecting to get a replacement free, the guy at the shop said it was my fault because I installed it wrong. Look I have been in sales for 20 years and that's not the right way to keep customers happy and coming back. That's why I like performance bike. read more

Super friendly helpful staff! We stopped with our 12 year old bikes with a brake issue. They were able to fix the issue in about 5 minutes. We were lucky that no replacement parts were needed. They have a very nice inventory of bikes including some beautiful Cannondales. They also had a wide range of accessories that includes kids. We'll be back. read more

I went into bicycles plus for a small problem on a road bike. The bike was shipped and the front disc and brakes were damaged. Mike greeted me and I introduced myself and explained what happened. In true "local bike shop" fashion Mike took it back and had his mechanic look at it and fixed it in about 10 minutes. I get up to pay and they told me welcome to town no charge. I bought a camelbak because I was so impressed with the gesture. They then introduced me to their weekly rides from the shop and this place defines local bike shop. I've been back 2x since and so glad I found it. read more

Incredible service. I bought my road bike at another shop in the area and was having difficulty getting a comfortable fit. I took the bike back to the shop where I bought it three separate times and each time they would change something or tell me I needed different shoes or pedals to alleviate my knee pain, yet the discomfort continued and I couldn't ride more than 20 miles comfortably. I was close to giving up and selling the bike when I heard about Mike at Bicycles Plus. I contacted him and he said I could bring my bike by and he'd take a look. He listened to what I'd already experienced and took the time to adjust the fit and explain what he was doing and why the previous 'fit' didn't work for me. The fit he gave was perfect and later that week I did my first 40-mile ride, and without pain! It's been over three months and I haven't had to change a thing. read more

Made a big mistake and bought a bike from an online vendor. The rear derailleur came apart in short order and the online merchant (half way) honored their warranty by shipping me a replacement part in a box with a couple of links for U-Tube "how to adjust a derailleur" videos...like I'm going to suddenly become an expert bike mechanic! Anyway, Cody at Bicycles Plus installed the derailleur, trued a wheel and adjusted the brakes for a fair price and on the ride home the bike shifted and handled great. Jeremy is amazing. He worked with me to get my bike fit dialed in. He took the time to watch my form on and off the bike. He made several small adjustments to the bike that made a huge difference. It isn't the times when things go well that we should be judged, it is when the going gets tough... The guys at Bicycles Plus in Coppell (Jeremy, Mike, James, Tyler, Kyle, etc..) are all about customer service. I went to buy my first road bike after owning a tri-bike for 10 years. I bought a bike in July and had issues. Went through another bike or two (or was it 3?) and still didn't feel right. As we hit September, I was getting pretty frustrated because the season was getting close to being over and I had ridden a rental all summer, but Jeremy, the manager, sat down and we talked about the issues and how to solve them...I was ready to ask for my money back at that point but he wanted a chance to keep me as a customer and i appreciated the willingness to make things right. These guys made the best out of this situation and we found a bike that fit right and I felt comfortable riding. Anything you need from a bike shop is at this location and the pressure to buy extra services that someone mentioned in their review is a joke, that is not how this shop works... All shops should be like this one and my wife and I will be customers for life (or until Mike makes me mad ha ha) read more

Excellent service! Jeremy hooked me up this past Saturday when I brought my bike in for a brake repair. Most bike shops would have made you drop off your bike and come back a week later for repairs, but Jeremy made the repair on the spot and had me out in 30 minutes. Although my bike needed a few other repairs, Jeremy was honest and said it can wait. While I was waiting, I observed a high level of professionalism, customer service, and friendliness from every associate in the store. read more

mike gacki is a great guy and has a lot of helpful advice. one time i asked him how i could upgrade to a higher category when i wasn't good enough to get results in races. he explained how he got his upgrade points by racing the 1994 gay games in new york. he beat a bunch of guys riding old mountain bikes and hybrids. that was the only race he ever won but he got his cat 2 license. he loves telling that story, ask him about it next time you're in the store. read more

I am nearing 70 years of age and had not ridden a bicycle for 50 years. I am not as spry as I used to be, and I wondered if I get back into bike riding on a low key level for exercise and just enjoying the outdoors. Where to start? While searching online I was impressed with the website of Bicycles Plus. I visited their store in Coppell, which has quite a large inventory of bikes to choose from. After a couple of visits and some test rides around their commodious parking lot, I picked out a bike within my desired price range --- all without any pressure or "hard sell" from the staff. I appreciated the time and attention that was given to my questions and concerns. I felt very reassured that I was in good hands. After my bike had sat in my garage through the winter, I took it to Bicycles Plus for a tune up and was delighted to be told that there would be no charge! Recently I damaged the seat post without even realizing it, and Kyle discovered the damage and arranged to get it repaired while I waited. The service here is exceptional. read more
