I was so grateful when I put a request out on Yelp on Thursday, for a last minute appointment for the coming Saturday, to a bunch of salons, and Trends was one of the ones that got back to me with an opening! I got there today and had Rebecca, who I highly recommend. We had a misunderstanding when I originally booked the appointment because what I asked for and booked, turns out was the wrong terminology and what I actually wanted was going to take a little longer. She had a client behind me, but was able to squeeze in what I wanted in record time. She did an amazing job for me, and was also super sweet. Elsa was a gem to find. I have fine 3b curly hair so it's finicky and can't handle too much blow drying or touching/manipulation during the styling process. She gave me an excellent curly haircut and has given great dusting style trims as I've grown my hair out. She listens to me and understands she can't handle my hair the same as her thicker haired curly clients. This has been huge to me and has left me fully satisfied with my results after every appointment. The salon itself has been beautifully updated and is spacious. She had never met me before, but she cheerfully returned my hair to its previous color all while negotiating the newness of working outdoors. September 2020 In time of Covid it is difficult to decide to have haircut by a professional or to do it by yourself at home. I called and made an appoint with Priscilla. She was very accommodating. The table, chair and mirror were outside the salon. Priscilla and I were wearing masks. The cut and styling took about one hour. The weather was warm, so the whole experience was pleasant. And I got a beautiful hair cut! Next week I am coming for highlights :). read more

I have gone to JES at this salon three times and each time have been blown away by the results. She has performed color, highlights, lowlights and haircut services on me and each one has surpassed my expectations (based on my experience with previous stylists). JES is very creative, very seasoned and a lovely person. She did my roots in such a way that when they grew in, it blended beautifully, which extended my need for root touch up to literally seven months. I highly recommend Rebecca at Trends. Rebecca understands how to put the client first and ask the right questions to get the results expected. I have lots of fine hair and worry when seeing a new stylist that my hair will get damaged or terribly mis-colored. She did a great job keeping my highlights intact, coloring roots to match the body of my hair and properly lightening selected strands to absorb glorious purple too. On one visit I was offered tea. I requested anything caffeine free. When the salon realized they were out of caffeine free they went across the street to a local bistro to buy a tea for me at no additional cost. DO NOT GO HERE. Don't see Dee I believe her name is. Unless you want all your hair cut off. I came here after seeing a groupon advertised for this salon. It was supposed to be for a hair cut, style and deep Condition. On the phone she said if i have longer hair it might be a couple dollars more and I said that's ok. Get there and the girl says oh... yeaH it'll be an extra $25 since your hair is long. ( nothing in the Groupon talked about length)..... so I said to just do the cut. Mind you my hair is mid back. So there shoildnt have even been a problem. I told her no more than a inch, just some of the dead off on the bottom. She went in like a cutting maniac. I told her multiple times that's enough cutting and you can stop. And she kept cutting. After the appt she said I had a lot of dead and my hair looked good.. I've never had my hair this short in my entire life. I am unsure how telling someone to cut an inch off makes them cut 4-6 inches off. And she put in these layers that make it look even worse. I was so upset after the Apt I was crying. So I decided to call and ask for my money back since there was no way I could get my hair back. They never had the Manager call me back but they had the stylist call me back. She literally argued with me and told me she miss cut it because I was on my phone and several other excuses. She went on with saying sheS been doing this for 30 years and that if I feel ok about making her work hard and taking my money back she will refund me. In which I told her to refund me because I asked her several times to stop cutting my haiR. I was on the phone once during the whole apt. And that was when she was brushing my hair... not cutting. I still have not got a refund, have contacted my bank and they said one has not been initiated. I will keep calling until I get a refund. ID honestly rather have my long haiR back. IVE NEVER SEEN MY HAIR THIS SHORT. I would've had better luck going to a $17 super cut hair stylist. In fact I've had better services there. On top of that, she kept trying to sell me their crappy producT. Every time she'd use something she told me how good it is and that they sell it there.. do not go to this salon, you can have better luck at your local super clips. Her name was Dee I believe. This review is for Jesse. She was super friendly however she destroyed my haircut and did the opposite of what I asked her for highlights. I showed her photos of what I wanted and it was a neutral to warm highlight a little chunky. What I got was ashy and super fine highlights that gave an ugly hue to my entire head. I had also asked her to blend a piece of my hair that was too long, she went and gave me an entire haircut. I appreciate that maybe she thought it was a favor but it was horrible. It was a disconnected cut which I intentionally had but then she went and blended all my layers making them too short and changing the angle in front. I was crystal clear on what I wanted I'm not sure how she could have gotten it so wrong. I have a friend who went to her first and also got ashy highlights. I think she likes ti do the latest trend for young girls and just does the same color for everyone. The straw was at the end when I was visibly upset and she tried to tell me it didn't look ashy or gray and it was beautiful. With all due respect, if she thought this was beautiful then she should not be doing hair. She did offer to fix it but honestly I didn't trust her, she was going to bring me toner but then wanted me to go back to get which was very inconvenient. I never asked for a dime back from her so it would have been nice if she could have been honest and also brought me the toner as she offered originally. I had to live looking 10 years older! Not fun at my age. I do not like to give bad reviews for nice people but no one should leave the salon $140 later looking like this. read more

Absolute Disaster. do not recommend. Went in for a haircut. Came out with choppy and uneven hair. My hair is straight and and very hard to mess up. Laurie, the hairstylist, started cutting dry! She would not fix even when I pointed out clearly mismatched layers on either side of my face. Really bad experience and now I'm stuck with a terrible haircut till my hair grows out. She always does an excellent job on a simple guy haircut, but additionally, delights me with her conversation on what's going on with her trying to get out of me what's going on with you buddy , she used to do color on me. We stopped that a few years ago, I have a more mature, gray, whitish, gray, naturally, and she keeps it a good length for me. She's always willing to go out a limb to commentate me (Covid, etc.). I purchased a Groupon for the haircut. I heard you could also call the salon and ask for the similar price so they could get the profit they deserve. This was my first time here. Parking on Saturday was hard to find but I was able to park at the closed US bank nearby. It's been over 8 months since my last cut and my hair got so dry and frizzy that I had to go in to chop those ratty hairs. Priscilla was very courteous and nice. She also advised me on what I could do to save my bleached dry hair. She listened to my concerns and I showed her a photo of what I wanted. She did a awesome job and I didn't even have to second guess a thing as I felt comfortable enough to leave my hair to her. She deep conditioned for a long time because she felt my hair needed some love! In the end she gave me samples to try. Result: My hair looked BOMB! Split ratty ends good bye! read more

This review is LONG overdue. I had an appointment with my usual girl, Pricsilla; however there was a scheduling error and my appointment was canceled. My appointment was for my birthday and my trip to hawaii. Gwen, the angel she is, took me in last minute to make sure my hair was on point for my special occasion. Gwen is a MASTER stylist and her prices reflect on her years of mastery and skills. Gwen and her assistant, (I forgot her name but she is a beautiful and kind woman who give the BEST style and dry!) worked dilligently to touch up my blonde hair. Gwen does a different method than putting the dye hair into aluminum foil, she puts it on plastic which is so much softer on the head. My hair came out the color I wanted- Blonde/Silver in ONE try thanks to Gwen. There was a patch of hair that wasn't the color I wanted but Gwen took me in again and made sure I was satisified and got what I wanted. My hair was also very smooth thanks to the conditioning mask she did on me. Gwen is amazing at what she does and I can't believe I got to experience the ultimate Trends experience. read more

I first came to Trends when my friend suprised me for my birthday. I had a cut, color and highlights. This was in Sept and I wouldn't dream of going anywhere else. Priscilla has been my stylist and she is awesome! She listens and incorporates her ideas and talents to make my style happen. She always has a smile and happy demeanor and I feel complete trust inher capable hands. DO NOT GET YOUR HAIRCUT BY CAROLINA!!!!! I originally had an appointment booked with Priscilla, but unfortunately she was sick so they put me with Carolina instead. I am usually nervous about trying new stylists but Gwen (the owner) assured me she was great. However she was terrible!! She completely hacked at my hair. I asked for my hair just above my shoulder and ended up with some pieces at my ear and none of my hair was the same length it was a complete mess! Not to mention I asked for my hair to be right above my shoulders so even if this was remotely a good haircut it was NOTHING like what I asked for!! The owner then spent ONE HOUR trying to fix it and "blend it" but it just made it worse! I was in tears in the salon chair and the owner told me "if you use from sea salt texturizing spray it'll fix it!" AS IF any product could fix this disaster! What salon let's someone leave their salon looking like this! I FaceTimed my mom afterwards and she was appalled by how bad it looked and said there was no way I could go into work Monday with it like that as it was very unprofessional and looked like it was cut by a five year old! I booked an appointment with a different salon that afternoon who thankfully were able to do their best to salvage it which included changing my part to cover up one of the holes and sadly cutting another inch off. They said that they have NEVER seen such a bad haircut and that stylist should lose her license for leaving soooooo many holes in my hair. Carolina mentioned during my appointment that she was new at the salon because she had some issues at past salons??? This should've been a BIG RED FLAG and I've learnt my lesson to never get your haircut with a replacement hairdresser. This review is not for a haircut but the (lack of) professionalism that I experienced at this salon. Bought a Groupon for a cut and partial highlights (with Laurie.) Called on a Friday and the woman I spoke to said there was availability for the next day at 1:30. I got there a few minutes early and an employee said she would let Laurie know I arrived. I saw her walk to the back and then walk back to the front and carry on. A few people asked me if I had been helped which was nice. About 10 minutes went by and I see Laurie come out with a client who had wet hair. I immediately thought..there is no way my appointment is going to start anytime soon. She had another lady walk over to look at her clients hair and they kept talking about it and looking at the color (apparently there was an issue with the color). Around 1:40-1:45, one of the hairdressers said to her, "I'll call your client." Didn't she already know that I was there (the lady who was there when I checked in told her that I was there..) I heard my name and walked up to the counter and told her that was me. She said, "sorry but there is an issue with her client's color. How flexible are you today?" Wouldn't she have known that she was running at least 45 minutes to an hour behind when she was rinsing her client's hair at 1:30? I know people run late and things happen. It would have been nice to get a phone call letting me know so that I wouldn't have had to waste an hour of my day driving over there and waiting. Also, I was looking forward to getting my hair done and was disappointed. Luckily I got my money back from Groupon! read more
