Food service and vibe were all there! Even better the price was top tier. We came during the late night happy hour and were in for a treat. We ordered so much food and the value for cost was insane. We will definitely be back to try more happy hour offerings and non special food.

    Two item lunch special....good flavors

My disclaimer always is that I'm not the biggest fan of Mexican food, so always take my reviews with a grain of salt. That being said, this was one of the better Mexican meals I've had in quite awhile. I ordered the lunch special two item plate. Not bad for value: After taxes, $17 with a drink included, plus chips and salsa (which are self serve). I got a pastor taco, and a birria. The taco itself had a good level of spice, and the birria was quite tasty. Again, usually Mexican food is generic tasting to me, but I was genuinely enjoying this meal. The refried beans surprised me....as opposed to being mush like almost ALL Mexican restaurants, this actually had the texture of REAL BEANS throughout, thus providing a pleasing texture. The service was great. I forgot to ask for no onion on my birria, and they happily offered to make me a new one. The gentleman who took my order and brought me a fresh birria had great customer service. He himself would make me like to return. Nothing too groundbreaking, per se, when it comes to Mexican food, but good flavors and great customer service means a rarity for me when it comes to Mexican....not only is this a place I recommend....but I would actually RETURN. Enjoy

We decided to give this place another try after a few years and had a much better experience. The restaurant is spacious with plenty of seating, a full bar, TVs, and a nice atmosphere perfect for watching football on a Sunday. The food was great. I had the mojarra frita with rice and beans, and we also ordered the molcajete, which was more than enough for two. The fresh tortillas made at the front were delicious. Service was friendly and our food came out fairly quickly. Overall, we're glad we gave it another chance and would return, especially to try drinks at the bar.

Taqueria Maya serves up real‑deal Mexican street‑food that hits hard on flavor and value. The tacos, burritos, and enchiladas come loaded with tender, well‑seasoned meats (birria, asada, chicken) and fresh toppings -- generous portions that feel much more substantial than typical fast‑food burritos. Sides like good rice and beans, and treats like tres leches or churros, round out the meal nicely. The vibe is laid‑back and community‑oriented: colorful walls, relaxed seating -- sometimes with outdoor tables -- and friendly staff who make you feel welcome even when it's busy. Prices stay reasonable, so you get a full, satisfying meal without breaking the bank

Had a great lunch today at Taqueria Maya. My group sat at the north end of the restaurant where the AC blasts on high keeping that area cool and comfortable on a warm day. Ordering was easy. The young man at the register was helpful and offered recommendations and answered every question about the menu that my group asked. We were given a number placer to put at our table and they will bring it out to you. The updated chip and salsa station guarantees warm crispy chips and chilled fresh salsa. This is kept very clean. You can wash your hands or use the restroom, which is to the left of the register. We chose several salsas; spicy queso was mild. Red sauce was medium and green salsa was hot. I like them all. We ordered a super burrito, Gordita's and street tacos. Every thing was so good! Marinated shredded chicken, which was moist and tasty. The carnitas had that classic slow cooked tender flavor and the asada was well seasoned and cooked to perfection. Very filing, generous portions with authentic flavors. You can tell all the tortillas and gordita's were freshly made in house as well as the marinated meats, rice, beans and everything else. Taqueria Maya always provides an exceptional experience and I can't wait to visit again soon. Yum!

Taqueria Maya has a bright and welcoming interior with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. I came on a Sunday night and they have happy hour specials on the food and drinks. I had the mini nachos with Carnitas, which were a very generous size and more than I could eat for one meal. They were delicious, piled high with salsa, cheese, guacamole, beans, and sour cream. The complementary chips and salsas from the salsa bar were tasty and had a good spice level. The staff is very friendly and helpful. There was a TV showing a soccer game as well as upbeat music for a fun atmosphere. They have a private parking lot with plenty of spaces.

I love their Enchiladas. I got a combination of red and mole enchiladas. Their red sauce is similar to my moms. No tomato. All red Chiles. The micheladas were great. The games were playing on the TVs. We ate outside. It was a nice day. And the food came out super fast. Plus it's awesome to see la señora making fresh tortillas by hand.

Idk why it took me 6 yrs to actually stop by and eat at Taqueria Maya but man did I miss out. I've always seen plenty of cars in the parking lot and finally decided to try it out today. Did. NOT. Disappoint. The menu is extensive and has classic Mexican dishes like tacos/enchiladas plus some that are harder to find like sopes and huaraches. We ordered the chilaquiles with both red and green salsa + eggs over medium and an enchilada rojas for plate plus a coffee. Ordering was super quick and easy- appreciate the cashier's patience while I made up my mind! The food was so good and you can tell everything is made from scratch. Reminded me of my mom's cooking. The portion sizes were also HUGE. You can easily share one plate. Vibe of the place was super low key and I loved the outdoor sitting area. Already have my eyes on the breakfast burrito for next time.

More than just a taqueria! Features full menu of authentic delicious Mexican dishes. Notably more popular in the daytime than evening/nighttime (not sure why though) Food: Chilaquiles - 5/5 - red sauce, not spicy but still delicious; their style is to mix scrambled egg into it Huevos rancheros - 4/5 - good but definitely have had better Breakfast burrito - 4.5/5 - large and hearty portion size Pozole - 5/5 - super delicious; very tasty broth with complete ingredients; highly recommended Mole - 5/5 - nice slices of whole chicken and perfect mole sauce; definitely a must have for fans of mole Quesabirria tacos - 5/5 - delicious especially with the consume Pork chile verde - 5/5 - another delicious option tender pork and green salsa Plato de 2 huaraches - 5/5 - excellent, authentic and flavorfully delicious Ambience: Pretty simple design with indoor and outdoor seating Service: Order at the front register

Great Mexican food with great portion sizes! My favorites was the Chile Verde Pork, the pozole and the quesabirria but you can't go wrong with any of their options. They have so much to choose from! I've gone a few times since I've found this place and will definitely be going back. Plates are generally under $20 but the portion size is big. I also saw them making their own tortillas and I love when places have a salsa bar. The restaurant is spacious with indoor and outdoor seating so I've never had to wait.

I came here with a girlfriend for happy hour. We split nachos and had two tacos each with a margarita. Food was amazing and service was great. It gets busy for happy hour and now I know why. The ambiance was cool. The music was perfect I danced the entire time while there. Well come back soon

    Jo D.

Little disappointed in the cost for two burritos and two margaritas coming to $63 The margaritas were $13 each and small. At a higher end restaurant I'd expect that price, but not at a taqueria. Either way, you live and learn. The burritos were good. The chicken super burrito was nice. Grilled on the outside, good flavor. Vegetarian burrito was okay, not great. The outside was not grilled and nothing really special about the flavor or ingredients. The chips and salsa bar were good. Verde salsa and sour cream saved my vegetarian burrito from mediocrity.

    Anyone know the WiFi password?

    Did you ask the staff?

Do they do taco Tuesday's and how much?

I don't think they do taco Tuesdays. They DO have weekday happy hour specials in the afternoons, from 3 to 6 pm, I think. Their street tacos are really delicious! And so is their salsa bar! The service is great too.

    Do they have vegetarian tacos/food?

    Yes they do

    Do they do party platters?

I'm sure they would. They're a local place with great customer service so if in the unlikely chance they've never done it, I'm sure they'd be happy to make you one.

I found Rosa Madera when searching for "queso" in Yelp...(I really was wanting some queso)…read more Anyways, funnily enough, I read through the menu when I got here and ended up getting nachos in place of the queso...that's fine though, it gave me an excuse to come back another day. It's a nice looking place inside, especially considering its general location. They were busy even at an off hour mid-week, but I can see why because the food is great and so is the atmosphere. My first visit, I tried the following: Enchilada Verde (Lunch Menu), Mini Birria Tacos (Lunch Menu), and Nachos de la Casa (with asada). They also brought out complimentary chicharrones de harina, which was especially nice because I was super hungry! My second visit I had the following: Queso Con Rajás Dip, Los Favoritos, and the Burrito de Carnitas (Lunch Menu). I ended up liking the nachos way more than the queso. I wasn't expecting the queso to just be the consistency of slightly melted cheese. I also wish they were a bit more generous with the chips since I ran out of chips way sooner than the dips. No complaints on my main dish portions though! Really loved most things I've tried. The presentation of my dishes I've ordered here, the Enchilada Verde and the Burrito de Carnitas, was great too. The chicken was just slightly too dry for the Enchilada, but the flavor made up for it. Only complaint is while the service was nice, it was SO slow both times I've been here. It took forever to get the check and when they did bring out the card reader you can't see the receipt, only a total. Then their lowest automatic tipping button is set at over 22% (with two higher percent options), which is honestly crazy to me since most places start at around 18%. I way overtipped on accident the first time I came. I think it's highly likely they get overtipped for this reason, which is nice for them but kind of not fair to the customer. I'll continue to return!

The consomme was made from the broth used to slow cook the beef used in the quesabirrias. The quesabirrias were delicious when dipped in the consomme. The nachos contained tomato, onion, cilantro, guacamole, jalapenos, radishes, carne asada, and cheese under fresh tortilla chips. All the ingredients were of high quality and tasted delicious together. Complimentary chicharrones de harina were served with hot sauce. This is the first time I've been to a restaurant that served complimentary chicharrones de harina. Chicharrones de harina are a Mexican snack that are made from fried wheat flour. Service was good as the workers were friendly and polite. They were short staffed so service was slower than if they were properly staffed. It was surprisingly busy around 2pm on a weekday.

I visited this past Saturday and it was quite busy inside like it always is. The restaurant is large enough to fit a lot of people, so finding a seat isn't an issue. To order, you line up in front of the register and wait until they call you. Once it was my turn, I ordered a Super Burrito with Al Pastor, which is my favorite protein choice there. Usually I order 2 tacos with my burrito but I was saving room for Korean bbq that day! The Super Burrito comes with your choice of meat, rice, beans, salsa, sour cream, guacamole, and cheese. I also ordered a medium pineapple agua fresca, which paired perfectly with my burrito. After ordering, you're handed a number to take to your table so the servers know where to bring your food. As I'm waiting for my food, I helped myself to the self-serve chip bar. The chip bar is my favorite thing about the restaurant besides the food and quick service. I always get loads of both the white and red pickled onions, and some salsa to go with my chips. They offer many sides to choose from so that anyone can customize their meal to their liking. The pickled onions have the perfect level spice and acidity to them which helps with cutting down the greasiness you may get from a burrito. I also like to snack on them for fun too! The food comes out extremely quickly. When I finished placing my order and brought my number to my table, I went to the self-serve bar right after to get some chips. Not even 2-3 minutes later, I came back to my table with my burrito already there! The burrito was absolutely delicious and piping hot. It's the perfect size for me and eating it with the pineapple agua fresca and some chips makes it a perfect meal! They didn't just walk by like frazzled, hurried workers like most restaurants pushing through the crowds. They actually gave me a nice smile and said welcome, and then walked by. And then I got to the reception area found that there was already a pretty big crowd at around the 5:30 PM or so I guess a lot of early birds come to eat there on Sunday. The receptionist asked for how many and said you'd be like a 20 minute wait and there was chairs where people were waiting but it was only like a 15 minute wait. The server was fast with the chips and salsa and ice water and then soon the waiter came and took my order. He was really quick and witty, fun to talk to. What I really enjoyed was as the noise of the table Near quieted down and they left. I saw a young man cleaning up the table and getting it ready for the next group of people. He was dressed really nice and had a tie on. Having been in restaurants most of my life I said to myself, I bet you he works with the owners or something. And I said to him, are your related to people that own the place ? he said my parents own this place. He was very friendly and polite. He told me a tiny bit about the restaurant and how everything had been since 1970, much older than he was, he was only a sophomore in high school I think. I never really got his name, but I was kind of proud of him because he was working hard at his family's restaurant. I ordered probably something bigger than I could eat because I had to take leftovers home, but it was really a tasty meal, and they're coming out with more chips and salsa without being asked, probably didn't help as well as a second lemonade. It's really impressive when you have a well oiled machine and it appeared to me that the people that worked there seem to be happy so that's always a good sign of good management. Several years back, I worked in the restaurant industry doing maintenance and repairs so I went to a lot of different restaurants and saw a lot of things so I know what to look for. I'm definitely gonna come back when my brother and his wife come up from the Bay Area my friend Ivan he'll wanna go there for lunch or dinner I know. He's kind of a picky eater and was born in Mexico, but I think he'll be impressed with this place.

There is a lot of seating with booths that easily seat 6 people around the periphery and tables with chairs in the main floor area. Our server was good and attentive and the water glasses were kept filled. Everyone was happy with the dishes they ordered. They have a children's section on the menu with very generous portions. I loved their creamy refried beans. I ordered carnitas quesadillas and was very pleased. I highly recommend this restaurant.

They have a brunch menu but we both ended up ordering from the main menu. She had Camarones de Borrachos and I had La Torta Gorda Carnitas. Both were extremely flavorful. The Camarones was a new recipe apparently. More chipotle flavored with a slight kick. From the looks the shrimp were very plump. My Torta was great. Bread was nice and butter and the carnitas were magnificent as advertised by our friendly waiter, Dustin. I also had a Horchatalada which was a sweet way to wash down this heavy food. Great experience and i cant wait to come back and try something else.

From what I could see, the restaurant looked really inviting and I appreciated that they have a dog friendly patio. I always have my pup with me and that is the main reason we chose this location. I liked the style and design of the interior of the restaurant and overall it had a very nice vibrant feel. The staff was also warm and friendly. Unfortunately, the food was a mixed bag. The Torta Gorda was the biggest disappointment. The meat was very bland and seemed barely seasoned while the bread had become soggy by the time we got it home. There just wasn't much to it. The mole also missed the mark for me. The sauce lacked the rich complex flavors I expect from a good mole and the chicken was noticeably dry. The rice, beans and esquites were ok. The nachos on the other hand were quite good. They were flavorful and satisfying and although I thought they were a little heavy-handed with the radishes, I mostly enjoyed the flavors. For for three people the bill came to around $100 after tip which felt a bit steep, especially considering the overall quality of the meal. While this visit didn't live up to my expectations, I'm willing to give Polanco Cantina another shot and probably dine in next time. I have a much better idea now of which dishes to steer clear of and the restaurant itself seemed promising so I'm hoping the experience is improved when the food is enjoyed fresh from the kitchen.
