I was really hoping to love this place. I've been here 2 times and the results were both the same. The tacos are good, the salsa bar is good, the beans are Not good, the price is fine. The guy working the hot food counter is reminiscent of the soup guy from the Seinfeld show, if you follow. The service from the younger staff is great. The ambiance is fine. The place is a market / cafeteria. They have a few tables off to the side. They also have a cold meat counter. You can pick up seasoned meat. I'll give that a try next time. He walks back in thru the side door that leads into meat area and continues to handle the meat with the same gloves on. Just moved here and needed to find a place to get my quesabirrias. This place is it. I get mine with extra cheese. Salsa is as spicy as I like it and staff is friendly how I like it too! I went here and ordered the carnitas, carne asada, and buche tacos. They were all delicious, best I have had in a long time in Merced! I loved the delicious salsa bar, and I enjoyed my experience so much I came back and purchased chicken and beef for tacos from the meat market and some of their yummy guaca-salsa to cook at home. The diced chicken was an amazing price at 3.99 a pound, and the beef was well priced as well. Super happy these guys moved in so close! I went on Taco Tuesday for the 1.75 tacos where the don't tell you until you order that not all tacos are at that price.I went ahead and still ordered what I wanted and was very disappointed with the carnitas taco-they were very bland and were not seasoned,the fish tacos had plenty of condiments but small fish pieces that you couldn't taste.The quesa birria tacos and asada tacos were ok-The taqueria was clean and maintained with plenty of parking. read more

Went there for the first time to get fish tacos on Friday for Lint? They only had the one seafood option of fried fish so I got three fish tacos. They were OK with a mild spicy creamer on cabbage. I also got a cheese quesadilla which was just average. Could've did the same thing at home nothing special. Salsa bar looked really nice. I got four different items from it. The meat counter looked adequate and some of the prices were OK but other prices were extremely high they had prepared El Paso for $3.99 a pound which I would've bought if I hadn't got the tacos for home. Forgot to mention I did get a El Pastor taco because they had the pastor on a rotisserie, but they never cut the meat off of it. Evidently, I got already cooked El Pastor that was in probably a bowl and when I went to eat this. It was super dried out and overcooked so I would not get El Pastor from them again! read more

We tried the pastor nachos last week... they were top notched nachos, thick homemade tortilla chips plenty of toppings on nachos. We literally fell in love with them we wanted more today. Again we both ordered the nachos,same as last week. We were left disappointed this time. No thick homemade tortilla chips, this time we got store bought chips, still plenty of toppings on top of nachos. But we were left with soggy chips. The superb nachos we got last week let us down this week. Last week we both finished our nachos this week we could only eat half. Now we have to go to the store to buy some thick tortillas chips to finish hopefully tomorrow. The thick tortilla chips you guys used last week worked. I would recommend staying with that type of chip rather than the store bought kind. It makes a world of difference just with the chips alone. Being consistent with your foods will also show, there is potential with this place. Came into this place and was greeted with excellent service! The food was amazing the quesabirria, carne asada fries, and burrito de asada was amazing! The strawberry horchata here is on hit.
