Took in my car for a check engine light and they said they fixed it but the check engine light kept on coming on and I payed 180 for the diagnostic and 950 to replace the part and they did they replacement and my car started acting weird and I took it back in and then they said it was a bad pump in the transmission and that I needed a new transmission and that would run me 2,500 for a used transmission. Although the employees are nice, I was told that my battery, which was still under warranty was going to be replaced for $130+. I was okay with that until they told me they were going to charge me $70+ to put it in. They said it would take over a half hour to put in so they would have to charge me. They put it in for free the last 2 times. I have been trying to get into this place for months but my husband works their hours of business and they are closed on weekends. Not being okay with this extra charge, I went to Walmart and got a battery with a 3 year warranty, it took them 6 minutes to put in my battery. Not even close to over the half hour Tri-City battery said. I do not recommend Tri-City battery for anything and will never go back. read more

Beware people. My cars ac was not blowing cold air, so i took it into tri city battery and after they did their diagnosis, i was given a 3400$ quote to replace my ac compressor because it was not engaging, and the condensor as well and that my freon was filled to spec. So given the very high quote i decided to get a second opinion to make sure that was the issue, but to my surprise i was told at another shop that my freon was just really really low (not filled to spec) so i had them add the freon and i asked them if the ac compressor was working, sure enough it engages perfectly fine, they even held onto the car for an extra hour to stress test the ac to make sure it was good to go. So now my car blows ice cold air and it only ran me 641$ not 3400$. So either some one is making a mistake at tri city battery or someone is being seriously dishonest. Either way beware and avoid them. Oh plus they wouldn't refund me for their "diagnosis" imagine that. Boo to you TCB, do better!! read more

Came back the next day and got it jumpstarted, then drove right over to TC Battery Tire Pros. Ive done business with with them off and on between the Pasco and Kennewick locations for 30 years. I just took my new RV in for a oil change and when I picked up the vehicle my screen door had the handle broke off it, a hole in the screen and gressy finger prints on the door. When i talked to Christian about it he said it was like that when they opened it. It was not like that when i left it. It was in perfect operating order. The handles are very light and it was obvious a tech just treated roughly. I would have hoped the person would just tell the truth and do the right thing but as usual these days theres not much integrity left. Thats also how I feel about Tri-City Battery after all the work ive had done there they were not willing to make it right. read more

Avoid this place. Went there to have my rotors, calipers, break pads and break lines replaced. The destroyed my brand new rear brake rotor and lied to me about it. Apparently the new calipers had a bolt that was too large (my mechanic suspects they mixed up the top and bottom bolt). they did not notice this until they had everything back together and test drove it. When they drove it they said the brakes seemed locked up and there was a grinding noise. They then went to put the old rotors back on and noticed the bolt not being the right size. Then I was told "oh it was locked up and it put a little scrape on the rear side. You cant see it anyways, and it will rub out after 1000 miles or so". I took their word for it. A few months later there was a loud clicking sound from my rear passenger side wheel. My regular mechanic put my car up on a lift and saw the pad was wearing uneven and there was a huge gouge on the back of the rotor. I mean this thing was DEEP. I looked almost machined in until we saw it matched with where the bolt is and was not on the opposite rotor. So they ruined brand new parts, charged me in full for the labor and now I have to buy yet another set of new rotors and pay my regular guy to do the job. I will tell everyone I know in the Tri-Cities to never ever to to Tri-Cities Battery & Auto Repair. These are the shady people you always fear getting when you go to a new mechanic. I brought my infinity in to get the a/c fixed. Two weeks later it was blowing hot again. Brought it in to get the a/c charged again, which I had to pay for again... Then they say they need to look for the leak and wanted to charge me again!!! What did I pay for the first time?! Because I was told it was to FIX THE PROBLEM. Tri-Cities Battery and & Auto Repair came to my rescue when one day prior to New Year's Eve, my car wouldn't start. The battery was dead! I called them, and within 10 minutes Josh came to my home and charged the battery. I then followed him to the store where they put in a new battery and changed the oil. I am not one who normally writes reviews about stores, but I feel I need to for this company. The previous review seems pretty justified, but I had a completely different experience. My car was acting up and not starting. I'm new to the area and didn't know where to go, and since this place is open on Saturdays I decided to try them out. I was a bit nervous at first because of the other review and indeed when I went I was initially not pleased. The guy at the counter seemed to not be very helpful and started the conversation with a large diagnosis fee. Besides this, a guy came out of the back and asked if they counter guy had "ordered the doughnuts yet" ... yea... But a few hours later they called me back and the guy who worked on my car was very helpful explaining what he did and what he thought was the problem. I went back to pick up my car and instead of charging me the full price for the labor, they only charged me 2/9ths the amount, and then gave me some advice on getting a new battery. I'm not a business major in college, but that sounds like good costumer service to me. Try them out. :-) read more

These guys are dishonest! They tried "the bait and switch" on me. I just had my Explorer tuned up at the Ford Dealer and it was running fine. I decided to take advantage of Tri-Cities Battery & Auto Repairs $35.00 Air Conditioner service. I never told them I just had a tune-up. One hour later I get a call from them telling me that I had a severe problem with my engine. They had me go back in the shop where I witnessed my car's engine idling poorly. They tell me that I needed a $130.00 tune-up. I told them they were liars and drove the car back to the Ford Dealer. Ford discovered that one of my vacuum lines were disconnected. Ford reconnected the vacuum line and the engine ran without any problems! Drove the Explorer another 60,000 miles until I sold it without any problems.... oh, by the way .... Tri Cities Battery wouldn't give me my rig until I paid a $45.00 shop fee read more

Had my son take his car there for oil change and took 2 hours. They tried scamming more out of him. Had a whole list of stuff that they found and tried to sell him a tire so on and so on. We just wanted an oil change. The funny thing is that the car is 44 years old so fricken of course it has deficiencies. We will never go back. They tried the oldest trick in the book. I took my car in to get a coolant leak checked out. I thought it was a radiator hose and it turns out that I was right. After the pressure test they told me that it would be about $120. After a later phone conversation I was told it would be about $130. When I went to pick up my car the bill was over $160. That is a lot of money for a guy like me but I had no choice but to pay. I was able to get same day service but the way the bill jumped up I feel really screwed. read more

If I could do a no star I would! Came in at 12:15 for an oil change and needed my light bulb fixed as it was going out. The woman at the front informs me that they are short staffed and everyone went to lunch. So I left and came back around 12:40. The women then informs me that the oil change will take 45 mins. I sat there with a preschooler and toddler until 2:00 before asking how much longer. I was told 45 mins. She told me oh not too much longer. We didn't leave until 2:30. I asked to talk to the owner and the woman informed me that the owner works all over his locations which I found to be untrue as he's usually at the Kennewick store. I told her why I was upset and she didn't say anything and walked away. As I was leaving and had to use my signal I noticed that the bulb wasn't even change. Paid $60 for horrible service! Will not be back to this location!! I'd also like to add the the manager Jason I believe was sitting at the front the whole time. The guy didn't seem to care less either. I had brought the station wagon in on 5/22/15 as the ac stopped working. The car had been there a few months before for front end work which was done to my satisfaction. I received an estimate for about $3000 for replacing fan, spark plugs, 02 sensors, engine decarbon and fuel injection service. I was also told the catalytic converter needed to be replaced immenently. I had my nephew the mechanic check the car out as we had just spent a bunch of money their on the last repair. For about $300 in parts and maybe 3 hours of his labor just about everything on their list was addressed that really needed to be addressed. I couldn't believe they were going to charge me $1,044.08 in labor to replace the 2 02 sensors. They cost me around $150 for parts and took my nephew less than an hour to change. As he was working he mentioned my battery maybe needed to be replaced. I told him I had paid Tri City Battery for a new one when the front end was fixed. He showed me the dates on the battery. I brought the car back to them and they did acknowledge that they charged me but forgot to replace the battery. Got that straightened out, but will not go back there! read more

Tri-Cities battery are a bunch of crooks. They told me that the reason my radiator cooling fan was not running was that my PCM was defective. Went to Motoring Services and they determine it was just the coolent sensor that initiates the radiator fan relay. Apparently the PCM does not control the turning on and off of the radiator cooling fan. read more

I called around for quotes on a new car battery and they where the second lowest I could fine, Walmart was the lowest by $5 but I hate them, so I decided to try them out.
