I took my wife there to enjoy dinner and the show. The restaurant is in a great location in Old San Juan and provides excellent ambiance for a romantic dinner. We had the shrimp ceviche which was fresh and delicious. My lamb chops fantastic and of course a couple mojitos! But the best part of the evening was our host Juan Carlos! His Spanish guitar and voice were amazing. His three dancers equally worth the visit. I highly recommend travelers to call and make your reservations early! Was a great part of our vacation. Juan Carlos is a legend. He looks like a murderer in a movie. A man who gives no excuses or details. But he gets behind that mic and he cracks jokes and tells stories. He strums the heck out of his guitar and is flanked by his dancing ladies! You get em Juan! I had the steak risotto. Needed a little extra flavoring. But a huge portion! We had these mozzarella stick.like app (sorry-cant remember the name) and I really liked them! The show is quick and enjoyable. I would suggest a nice evening at Triana. Nice staff, good food and great dancing!
Visited this location for dinner with a large party and no reservation. The staff promptly seated us and provided a fan near our table. While there was no entertainment, they played music. The food was excellent with large portions. The bathrooms were clean but a bit warm. I highly recommend trying their steak risotto.
We wandered in after the restaurant we intended to go to was closed while in the cruise port. Boy am I glad we did! Holy, FLAVOR! My tastebuds are trying to convince me I need to take the next flight back just so I could go there again. No lie. I ordered alcapurrias, bacalaitos, sweet plantains and a coconut margarita. Followed by a piña colada. I was actually surprised both of the fried starters were so mini! I was expecting one large, single appetizer like I find stateside. I was a bit confused and wondered HOW they packed so much flavor into such a tiny, delicious morsel. Ohhhh, and the tangy guava sauce that accompanied the alcapurrias was literally stuff dreams are made of. I've never tasted anything like that before but I want the recipe! My fiancé ordered the carne asada. Again. Blown away. And he is a hardcore steak lover. He eats Delmonico steaks and ribeyes at least twice a week. So the fact that he was in love with a skirt cut was pretty impressive. He said it was beyond tender and seasoned to perfection. I have to agree! I'll definitely be getting that next time I visit Puerto Rico! Already planning our next vacation there.
We came here for the show and had a great time. Though the majority of the show was the guitarist, and not much flamenco dancing, it was still very entertaining and great to watch. Service was great too. We had some sangria (come early for happy hour specials!) and red wine. We also ordered the lamb chops, shrimp ceviche, and Triana paella. All were so delicious! The shrimp ceviche wasn't my favorite but still very tasty. Definitely recommend this for a unique dinner experience in old San Juan!
A little disappointment on the restaurant. Paella is a little too expensive. Shrimp ceviche is too sour and salty. Our waiter, also a bartender, was less attentive since he took care of the bar as well. Cheese cake was mistakenly served as cheese flan. On the bright side, eggplant with manchego is great, while beef tripe stew is not too bad. Flamenco performance was great if you're into the music dance and exotic atmosphere. The whole family (16) decided to go to Old SJ late at night on Christmas date. San Juan was packed with people every body hanging out and having a good time. All food places were either closed or had a long waiting list. This place had a big lobby at the entrance where we could wait patiently. It wasn't long and a large table was ready for us. Appetizers were very good (battered fish and croquettes). We all had the meat paella which is made upon ordering. Portions are generous. We were all pleased with the food and the service. In top they had live Flamenco music and dancers. The old guy playing the guitar was talented with decades of experience and good sense of humor.

Cultural retrospective of Latin American culture and history through the prism of history, guitar, dance, and food. A very enjoyable ambiance and experience with great live performances by Flamenco dancers and the oldest Spanish guitar player alive (who am I to doubt it). Bacalaitos were great. read more

We found this restaurant in Old San Juan & all we can say is that the food was great & the service even better. We went during the week so there weren't many people around us. The churrasco was tender and sides were great. The food was fresh & authentic. As well as parking would be easier if you parked in the near by parking garage and an easy 5 minute walk. read more

While we walked around Old San Juan we came upon Triana. They are very careful who they let in so we showed our negative Covid test to enter. We started off with some Strawberry Daquris because it was a little warm out. They really hit the spot and delicious. I ordered the Lobster and Mushroom Risotto. This isn't the first time I've had Risotto so I know what is good and what is okay. The consistency was more gloppy than creamy. The lobster was overcooked. It was a bit hard to bite into. You can tell if seafood is cooked to perfection by the tenderness. I would pass on this item and try other items on the menu. My husband loved his Chicken Caesar salad. He liked how it didn't taste fishy ( some places add anchovies to dressing) . He also liked that they didn't drench the salad with dressing. I think it's a hit or miss place. If you come on weekends they have Flamenco shows during dinner . read more
We came here on our last night in OSJ because we wanted to see a live show. The place gets packed so be sure to make a reservation or come early. We asked the waitress about serving sizes, and if we'd have enough food for our group with 3 different dishes. She insisted it would definitely not be enough, so we increased the sizes. Definitely not the case! We ordered the tapas sampler, paella triana, and a few pounds of their fresh fish. We had 5 people... Way too much food. I loved the paella, and actually preferred it compared to the paella in Spain! It was fresh, hot, and packed with flavorful seafood. The tapas sampler was terrible. Do not order it. I think next time I would order a la carte tapas. The fresh fish was tasted, but the fried part of the fish was more soggy than a nice crisp skin, which was disappointing. The flamenco dancers were all amazing, enthusiastic, and lively! The show and music they put together really draws you into the story line. I'd love to come back on our next journey read more

Amazing night(s)... We found this restaurant last year during our week vacation in PR - we had dinner there twice that week. Well, we made it back to PR last month (march 2016) and had it on our schedule for our first night in San Juan. We were once again blown away by the food and the hospitality. So much so we brought friends (first timers in PR) to eat and enjoy the show later that week. We all had a blast. Again, service was excellent, food excellent. If you are ever in Old San Juan you must give this place a try! Special thanks to Harold for his generosity! read more

Fun Fun Fun! We only had drinks, so I can't comment on their food. However, I saw a couple of the dishes and they looked terrific. After the Flamenco show, one of the dancers provides salsa lessons in the large entry area. Free salsa lessons in Puerto Rico & great drinks rates this place a 4. Also, the servers are friendly and very attentive. Definitely worth stopping in! read more

This place is fantastic!!! Go back in time with the singer and guitar player from time to time accompanied by three magnificent dancers! The man is just the best I have ever heard playing and singing. From Mexico music, Spain is and Argentina. If you go travel to Puerto Rico this is some place you can't miss to go to. We found Tirana's through Cruise Critic and what a delight. It was a quick walk from our cruise ship through old town SJ. Our evening began with Manuel finding is a table downstairs since it was very busy. The live music and dancers were incredible and made this a a most stop while in San Juan. We ordered Sangria, local beer, an appetizer plate (ample for thee 4 of us), and chicken salad fongo. We also split churros for dessert. The found was fabulous, Manuel provided first class service, and the entertainment was excellent. read more
This is the second time I visited Triana. The food is great and resonably priced. The sangria is flavorful. The waiter was gracious and gave our party of about 10 separate checks. To top it all off, Juan Carlos from Spain has a show at 7:30 p.m. There is no extra cost for the entertainment and he has dancers accompanying him who dance flamenco. He gets the audience involved and is funny too. Though you're in Puerto Rico, you should visit this Spanish restaurant. There's a mix of Puerto Rican and Spanish food including cod fritters and paella. While the restaurant wasn't packed this time around in July, it was in March. Make reservations. read more

Oh...my....goodness!!!!!!! So happy my husband and I, while walking past that morning, saw a sign for their dinner and flamenco show that would be taking place that night. We were so entertained and really enjoyed everything about this place! The flamenco dancer, Silvia was extremely talented and I couldn't take my eyes off of her when she danced. Juan Carlos......AMAZING!! It was such an honor to meet him! We also bought his CD that he signed! Triana made sure to give my husband and I, a newlywed shoutout during the show which was super sweet. We will be going back next time we visit Puerto Rico. Everyone should go to this show! You will not be disappointed! The food and sangria are really good as well! read more

Spanish dishes not executed autentically. Dark dining room. This is a touristy restaurant. The cod croquetas were good, very creamy but with no discernible cod. The pulpo a la gallega was tiny pieces, not flavored appropiately with no good olive oil but greasy. The fish cazuela had so much oregano that overpowered the fish taste. People fo there for the flamenco show. read more

The service is good. The codfish croquette is good. The seafood paella with lobster is also good. But the restaurant should improve the hygiene. There is a small spider on my table. read more

The shrimp ceviche appetizer is AMAZING. I would've ordered more if it weren't so pricey. The hearts of palm salad was good in that they were generous in the portion of hearts of palm served, but the salad was otherwise unremarkable. Just lettuce, tomato, and onion with balsamic dressing. read more
Visiting Old San Juan, came upon La Triana and the hostess invited us in. We were looking for tapas (appetizers) and a drink for lunch. With a mojito and a glass of red wine, BF and I shared lagostinos (prawns), churasco (skirt steak) con garbanzos, and mofongo with chicken. Each plate gave us just enough to share and enjoy. A little heavy on the salt or would have been 5 stars. We also had dessert - homemade coconut flan (yum!!!) and Nutella crepe (meh). Great lunch. Rebecca was sweet, friendly and gracious. Kid friendly (we had no kids today) probably super crowded at dinner. Would stop again. read more

We stumbled upon this place and we could not be happier. The food, ambiance and service was incredible. The live musician and dancers took it to the next level. I highly recommend this establishment to everyone. If you find yourself in Old San Juan, go there! read more

Went here for dinner on my husband's birthday. Got there just in time for a few happy hour drinks (ends at 7pm). Pina coladas and mojitos were good. For dinner, we had the ceviche (not much flavor, we didn't like this) shrimp garlic soup (flavorful, good) with tostones (ok, I like them with the mayo/ketchup mixture and only had plain ketchup here) and the chicken alfredo fettuccini pasta (a large serving, pretty good but nothing special). We had good seats for the flamenco/guitar show and enjoyed it. Got a slice of tres leches cake for my hubbys bday, itbwas VERY GOOD! They brought a candle and lighter also and the guitarist recognized him during his show. Food was fine, but not great, but show was a good time. It was an enjoyable evening. read more

This is a nice spot in Old San Juan to go for both Spanish and Puerto Rican food. We tried an sampler appetizer of spanish tapas that I posted a picture of. My favorite was the potato omelette which was basically potato, cheese and onion--I could've eaten a whole order of it!! My friends also tried the beef, shrimp and shredded chicken mofongo plates--the favorite being the chicken. We were there for lunch and missed the show, but still loved it and had a great experience. read more

We came here 2 yrs ago and had a great visit. Returned again and sadly service really impacted our enjoyment. Drinks took 30 minutes, every table (only 7) were trying to wave down waiter for one reason or another. Seafood paella always a good bet, but no lobster. Would return but make sure you are in no rush or thirsty. (Did not see evening entertainment.) read more

Me and my BF came on a Monday night expecting to see the flamenco show however they didn't have it and told us to come the next night on Tuesday. We did lol. Monday night we had dinner here. My BF ordered the Tbone steak and he enjoyed it. I had the seafood spaghetti and it was really good. Their portions are really big! We had some sangrias as well and those were good. Tuesday night we came for the flamenco show. There's a Spanish guy playing the guitar and 2 flamenco dancers on the side, That was really cool and he was funny. Given their portions were big the night before we just decided to have tapas. Once the flamenco show was done people moved to the front and started dancing. There was salsa lessons but we didn't stay for that. Good experience. read more

After numerous unanswered emails and phone calls, I was finally able to get a hold of someone at Triana Tapas & Flamenco Restaurant. I made a reservation for 9 for Saturday night and we were confirmed! I was happy and relived. The entourage cabbed it into Old San Juan for a dinner filled with tapas and flamenco dancing. Of course it was too good to be true, once we arrived at the restaurant, they couldn't find our reservation and the restaurant was full to capacity. The manager assured me that I must have made reservations at a different restaurant but I brought out my smartphone and showed him the phone # and details confirmed, "show starts at 8:30 PM and lasts approximately 1.5 hrs." He quickly changed his tune and said they would try to get a table for our group. The restaurant decor is pretty cool. There were string lights and lanterns hanging in the lobby and a corner with flamenco costumes displayed. While we waited, we had $ 4.00 Bacardi flavored mixed drinks and Patron tequilla shots at $9.00 each. Our table was ready and we were seated! The restaurant quickly filled up as the dancers prepared for their performance. We started off with a pitcher of sangria and another round of drinks. We quickly learned that our waiter, Marcel, didn't like that we kept ordering shots from the bar. The menu was overwhelming and we wanted to try everything. I had to take notes on my phone just so we could keep track. I don't remember all the names of the dishes but we ended up with a fried potato dish, fried calamari, appetizer sampler with a few of everything, cured meat and cheese platter, octopus salad, 2 mofongito dishes, spaghetti and shrimp, an eggplant dish with crab and an eggplant dish with manchego cheese, a seafood paella and a squid ink paella. Oh boy, my mother is watering reliving all these dishes. Quickly after our meal was served, the performers came on stage. There were a few ladies and a male dancer. The meal and dancers were very good. Pricing was a bit on the higher side. With tax and tip, the total came to about $450.00 for 9 people. That included 2 paellas, a bunch of tapas, sangria and a round of shots. read more
