Our waiter was not very attentive nor ready to provide recommendations. He showed up only when called over to the table. Ordered the croquettes and the were still raw inside. Overcooked on the outside. Let him know and he said yes, I don't like that texture. Really, he could have said something when I ordered them. The octopus was bland, the patatas bravas had a nice spicy flavor. The risotto was nicely sized, but lacked flavor. Overall service lacking, food average, show amazing. read more

I took my wife there to enjoy dinner and the show. The restaurant is in a great location in Old San Juan and provides excellent ambiance for a romantic dinner. We had the shrimp ceviche which was fresh and delicious. My lamb chops fantastic and of course a couple mojitos! But the best part of the evening was our host Juan Carlos! Juan Carlos is a legend. He looks like a murderer in a movie. A man who gives no excuses or details. But he gets behind that mic and he cracks jokes and tells stories. He strums the heck out of his guitar and is flanked by his dancing ladies! You get em Juan! I had the steak risotto. Needed a little extra flavoring. But a huge portion! Visited this location for dinner with a large party and no reservation. The staff promptly seated us and provided a fan near our table. While there was no entertainment, they played music. The food was excellent with large portions. The bathrooms were clean but a bit warm. I highly recommend trying their steak risotto. read more

We wandered in after the restaurant we intended to go to was closed while in the cruise port. Boy am I glad we did! Holy, FLAVOR! My tastebuds are trying to convince me I need to take the next flight back just so I could go there again. No lie. I ordered alcapurrias, bacalaitos, sweet plantains and a coconut margarita. Followed by a piña colada. I was actually surprised both of the fried starters were so mini! I was expecting one large, single appetizer like I find stateside. I was a bit confused and wondered HOW they packed so much flavor into such a tiny, delicious morsel. Ohhhh, and the tangy guava sauce that accompanied the alcapurrias was literally stuff dreams are made of. I've never tasted anything like that before but I want the recipe! My fiancé ordered the carne asada. Again. Blown away. And he is a hardcore steak lover. He eats Delmonico steaks and ribeyes at least twice a week. So the fact that he was in love with a skirt cut was pretty impressive. He said it was beyond tender and seasoned to perfection. I have to agree! We walked into the restaurant that was not busy at all on a Rainy day, so you would think they were excited to help us. We waited about 10 minutes before someone came up to the table. There were no prices for any drinks on the menu. Everything was blacked out. So he asked our waiter what the prices were, he looked at us and paused and thought of a price. We asked for a passionfruit margarita and we got all sweet mix of something and no alcohol. My sangria was as well watered down. The food was rather expensive and when we got our food, it had no Latin flare to it at all. Things were tasteless and bland. He never returned to our table to even asked how our service was or for me to ask for salt. We were the only obvious tourist in the whole restaurant and he did not tend to us as he did the other people in the restaurant. The atmosphere was bland and weird. We came here for the show and had a great time. Though the majority of the show was the guitarist, and not much flamenco dancing, it was still very entertaining and great to watch. Service was great too. We had some sangria (come early for happy hour specials!) and red wine. We also ordered the lamb chops, shrimp ceviche, and Triana paella. All were so delicious! The shrimp ceviche wasn't my favorite but still very tasty. Definitely recommend this for a unique dinner experience in old San Juan! read more

Great music and food. We visited Triana on Thursday and the Flamenco show was excellent. The guitarist Juan Carlos was entertaining and played excellent spanish guitar. The dancers were wonderful, expressive and authentic, changing costumes throughout the show. The food was prepared excellently. We ordered paella with seafood with black rice, and pork chops as a separate entrée. The paella would have been sufficient for three people. This was the best flamenco show ever, and I've seen flamenco in Spain. read more

A little disappointment on the restaurant. Paella is a little too expensive. Shrimp ceviche is too sour and salty. Our waiter, also a bartender, was less attentive since he took care of the bar as well. Cheese cake was mistakenly served as cheese flan. The whole family (16) decided to go to Old SJ late at night on Christmas date. San Juan was packed with people every body hanging out and having a good time. All food places were either closed or had a long waiting list. This place had a big lobby at the entrance where we could wait patiently. It wasn't long and a large table was ready for us. Appetizers were very good (battered fish and croquettes). We all had the meat paella which is made upon ordering. Portions are generous. We were all pleased with the food and the service. In top they had live Flamenco music and dancers. The old guy playing the guitar was talented with decades of experience and good sense of humor. read more

We had a great time here while visiting PR. The flamenco dancers were beautiful and very lovely. The singer was amazing and very funny. This place is located in Old San Juan and the show is free with a purchase of $20. Servers were friendly and the drinks were quite nice. I had a champagne and vodka drink which was different in a good way. The manchego was very good but they don't include crackers. We tried a shrimp and sausage appetizer but it was too salty. The server was very accommodating and took it off our check. The food places are reasonable but we decided to eat elsewhere to try out more places. read more

Absolutely delicious food! My friend and I are vegetarians and they had so many delicious options! We narrowed it down to the cheese plate, zucchini and pesto, spinach dumplings, and mompasteao (sp?) rice. Everything was scrumptious! Plus, when we went there was a Flamenco show. They let us in the "lobby" but most people had reservations, so it might be a good idea to plan ahead and make one. It looked great but There was a lack of seasoning and was heavily loaded with mussels which made it pretty pungent. We ended up asking for limes to add to the paella which helped. The place was packed and the 3 waitresses on shift had to wait, run, and bus all their own food with no support staff. Come on now, that's 3 different jobs. We were in San Juan on a cruise. Unfortunately, so were two other cruise ships, so the area was packed with people. I wandered away from the crowds and stumbled onto this place. There were 10 of us. We met Molly at the hostess stand and she assured us service would be impeccable. Well, she was right. Turns out she was our server, and she was dynamite. The food was, quite simply, outstanding. Between the 10 of us, we had grouper bites, garlic shrimp, a potato dish of some kind, lobster risotto, scallops, and a few other dishes at the end of the table that I didn't personally sample. It was lunch, so there were few people in the place, consequently everything came quickly. We also had beer (Midella? some kind of Puerto Rican beer which I would identify with Michelob Light from days ago), and a Mango daquiri or something similar and it was very good. This was my second time to San Juan (won't be the last) and my only disappointment is that I didn't find this place the first time. One woman on the street recommended Triana to my friend and I, so we decided to go. We were originally going to Raices, but were informed by the woman that the food here was "better". When I tell you SLOWWWWW. It took over 30 mins just for water and drinks, another 45 mins just for appetizers, and another 15 minutes for my mofongo. We spent over 2 hours total which is unacceptable for what we ordered. Another friend of mine (who's a Puerto Rican native) met us at the restaurant and if it weren't for her speaking Spanish and rushing things along, it would've been even longer. 4 other girls were there for over 2 hours as well, but unfortunately never even received their food. The only reason they got more than 1 star was the food. It was actually decent. Not mind blowing by any means, but good. The bacalao (cod fish) croquets were tasty, but BARELY had any cod. I usually come here in my visits to the island. Today after a $50 tab at the bar and after visiting the ladies restroom, this wonderful gentleman was performing and I started to video him to show my husband when I got back. This drunken manager showed up and started berating me because I was videotaping. He asked if I had a table. I explained I was just done and was using the restroom and videotaping the performance. He said I was not allowed if I didn't have a table and kicked me out. I asked if he was really kicking me out because I wasn't doing anything wrong and just ate at his place. He said he didn't care, and was not leaving the area until I left. He was drunk and belligerent, smelled of cheap bourbon and attitude-so I left. I typically love this spot, but the manager can get out of control, so beware of this guy. read more

We had dinner here on July 14th before the island went back into Shutdown mode. Before entering, temp checks and masks are required. There was already socially distance tables, so made us feel comfortable. We ordered a little bit of everything and one our best was the Mushroom Risotto, absolutely a must try! The lamb was delicious as well as the Churassco Mushroom steak and Seafood Paella. Our server was great! I would say this spot is a must try when in Old Town San Juan!! read more
