Tonight was my first time coming here. My job had a lil get together and they put us in a separate room away from others which was nice! Parking was a little difficult in that they didn't have many spaces. It was packed! Anna Marie was our server and she did a great job. She helped me in my drink selections and gave me her opinion on what was the best appetizer and entrée. I had the lowcountry roll and the brisket tacos. Everything was surprisingly delicious! In town for a wedding and just wanted a quick meal before heading to the hotel for the night. Found this unique gem. Atmosphere was good and the food fresh and hot. I had the Patty Melt...bacon was crispy and the burger was cooked perfectly. I love the crunch of the sourdough bread. House mad chops finished it off perfectly. My husband had the "Dipper". I think people come for the drinks. The sweet potato fries were great. The Buffalo sandwich with sweet peppers and queso was a big miss. No true flavor. Parkings a problem and pigs are not in a cake which I guess I misinterpreted. In is within and the pigs were on a griddle cake, they were between the cake, but just not in the cake. Why do I harp? Because I began gnawing at the pancakes edges, eventually coming to terms that this was the in they spoke about. It became a reconstruction project at that point as conversation and mimosa liters were upon us and showing no signs of slowing down. Mimosas are a must, sit as we did out in the open air, share the love of the moment, share the enjoyment, leave your worries behind-- soak it all in -- eat, drink and be merry my friends. The flat pattie sausages were a bit overdone but absolutely understandable, and did not miss a beat on taste. His friends bacon and ham sat above and below beckoning another slice of cheese to come forth with. No free side item, you gotta buy 'em, but what else really might you need? This is no ordinary sized flapjack sandwich and you'll understand if you give it a go. The service was pinpoint with the stop in's, as we didn't order our food for a little time, when the time came, she was ready, double clicking the pen in immediate readiness. I've driven past Triangle Char & Bar countless times but I finally got a chance to go for a post-holiday brunch with friends. I will say, brunch is a great time for Triangle. There's a lot of yummy options but I went with the poutine tots. I added an over easy egg for extra breakfast-ness and this was definitely a good idea. The tots were cooked perfectly with a good crisp, and the egg added just the right amount of gooey to the mix. All together it tasted like the best type of breakfast. I know they do a taco night special also, and although I haven't been to it, I feel like brunch here warrants a visit, if only for the poutine tots. Also, you won't have as much of a struggle for parking in the earlier hours. Always a bonus! read more

We were able to sneak in for brunch before going to the escape room down the street on Sunday morning. Parking is always a nightmare in Avondale so I parked down the street near the bank and walked down the road. An early bird claimed one of the big center tables and we were in the perfect spot for people watching. $7 mimosa carafes all around meant we were cheerful patrons that day. I had the breakfast burrito and gobbled it down, although I am sort of regretting not getting the s'mores pancake. Maybe next time. The one thing that struck us all as odd was when I requested a hot tea for my sore throat, our server told us they don't have tea but offered to microwave sweet tea for me. I am hoping he was just misguided and that they do actually offer hot tea. read more

A few weeks ago we went to a drink and something small to eat to triangle. My husband paid with credit card and did write the sum on the bottom which was roughly 40 dollar including tip. Next day he saw on the credit card an amount that was 9 dollar higher. We called in and the manager promised to give the 9 dollars back. Up to today we did not receive the amount. We were told that it was my husband's fault as he did not write in the tip but the final amount. I am astonished that it is not an issue for a manager that the waitress awards herself of a tip of about 50% and in addition that they claim the money will be booked back but we never received it I should call in again which would be the 4th time but I decided to write this review which I am happy to amend upon receiving my money. read more

One of my favorite restaurants not just in Avondale, in west Ashley. The food is great, and they have a number of vegetarian options like the southwest 7 nachos (I highly recommend). They have a pretty good beer selection, including some great local beers. Cocktails are always made well. One of my favorite things about triangle is their really good happy hour. Lots of cheap apps and drinks, and a carafe if mimosas is only $7 (dangerous)! They have a big brunch menu on weekends, but not really many vegetarian options with that menu. They have a great kids menu as well - my 4 year old asks to go here often :) It's also a fun place to hang out - TVs, outdoor seating, and games. Plus walking distance to other bars and shops. I came here for lunch with 3 friends. I've only eaten here once before, it was lunch some 14 years ago. Just never got around to to coming back here. Over the years, so many people I've known have had good things to say about the place. So my friends & I decided to do lunch here. BIG MISTAKE for me. [1] Four of us at the table - waiter only brought tableware for two. So we figure he'd bring more later. When the food arrived, we had to ask him to get 2 more place settings. He came back with 4 place settings. Obviously, he struggled with math in school. [2] For drinks, I asked for ice water with lemon and a coaster (to catch the condensation that drips on the glass). My friends got plain ice water. The waiter brought the water without lemon or the coaster. I had to ask again for the lemon & the coaster. The waiter brought by two additional ice waters with lemon for my friends, who didn't ask for it. So they each now had two waters. I still didn't get the lemon or the coaster. It took my 3rd time asking to get it. [3] I ordered the Boss Hog burger. It was supposed to come with caramelized onions. It did not. My friend mentioned it to a passing waitress, who then advised me that she will get some. I politely spoke that I didn't want it. She insisted that she get some. I politely refused "thank you, but I don't want it now." She again, in a badgering manner, insisted that she get some. "I appreciate it, but I don't want any now." Again she badgered me by saying "Are you sure. It's no problem." After these attempts to clue her in, I finally had to say to her "What part of NO do you not understand?" [4] The food took 35 minutes to arrive. There were only about 14 people dining there, some who arrived after us. Don't understand the long wait. My fries were barely warm and tough. [5] The ketchup bottle on the table was empty. My friend took a bottle from another table. It also was empty. So he then got another bottle. It too was empty. He finally had to point out to our waiter that these ketchup bottles were empty. OMG! This is an upscale hamburger restaurant and you have 3 empty ketchup bottles on the tables! What a circus of errors this lunch experience was! On a positive note, the hamburger meat was done just right, medium rare, and was delicious. I'm non judgmental about the restaurant's atmosphere. It's garage sports bar atmosphere. Seems like a nice hangout for happy hour or for an evening sports bar. The atmosphere here is great. The food was good, some of it is a bit overpriced for what you get, but I felt my burger was a good value and tasty. The parking lot is a nightmare, the do have overflow parking at a nearby bank, but this is only when the bank is closed. I would come back here and give it another try, and maybe they would be a little quicker. We had a party of 6, so understandably there was about a 30 minute wait, not too bad because we ordered drinks before and sat outside while we waited. Once we were seated, it took over an hour after ordering to receive our food, I understand places are understaffed, however our waitress only checked on us once during this wait and didn't mention it would be long until they finally brought out the food, it felt like we had been forgotten. I came here for happy hour on a Monday. They have $2 mimosas all day every day so that can't really be beat if you're trying to find cheap drinks. The fried pickles were good but a little too salty for me. The southwest nachos were really good and good size portion for an app. read more

Let's talk about Triangle! My husband and I took a trip to Charleston to pick up my car from port and we were dying for food after the long drive to the coast. Unfortunately so many places were packed or didn't serve drinks (what can we say) we happened upon triangle not too far from where we were planning to stay the night, so their location was nice for us. We started with the soft pretzels and cheese, these were perfectly soft and salty! YUM, love us some bar food. Next I thought I would try a burger that was served on grilled cheese. I thought this meant it was prepared like a grilled cheese. I couldn't have been more wrong, the "BUN" was two grilled cheese sandwiches and then all the good stuff in between. Tried a titillating trio of tasty tacos for taco Tuesday at Triangle! Say that three times fast. It was busy as usual for Taco Tues but our server was pretty on top of things. We had a table of 8 and things went smoothly with drink refills and such. I'm not a big popcorn fan and probably wouldn't have ordered it myself but we ordered a couple bowls for the table. The truffle oil adds a unique flavor and the Parmesan is a must. Consider that idea stolen. We also picked up a few baskets of fries for the table too. Two sweet potato and one regular... I was the picky one who isn't a fan of sweet potatoes but I tried them and they were fine. I still prefer my taters of the Idaho variety. Pretty much everyone got a combination of two or three tacos. I went with the Mahi, beef, and chicken. I have had the Mahi and chicken before so I knew what to expect. Surprisingly the beef was the shining star of my taco basket. Great location right in the middle of Avondale! Came for brunch with a group of 6 and were seated in the indoor patio section which was perfect. Greet right away by our waitress who got us all waters and took our drink orders: $7 carafe of mimosas and build your own bloodys! Yes! Food menu has everything you want on a brunch menu- savory, sweet, small, large and everything in between. Since Door Dash won't let me write a review, I will leave one here. This was absolutely awful. I ordered a bowl with the salsa on the side, minus tomatoes, minus scallions with grilled chicken added and a side salad (also minus tomatoes, onions and cucumbers). The order arrived a big pile of mush, and it wasn't from delivery time, the dash driver was very prompt. Everything I did not want was literally piled on top. I managed to push those things to the side and was going to attempt to eat just the rice. Big no go. It was horrible. Mushy and zero flavor. My husband took a bite and had to spit it out (he's a textures guy). I was saved by the chicken breast. It was cooked very well and while it was lacking in flavor, it went well with the "house ranch". I can give props to prep and delivery time, I don't think we waited 30 minutes, but the meal was probably the worst thing we've ever had in Charelston. read more
