Came here on a whim for brunch on the weekend. Turned out to be more of a hipstery place. Order though crabcake benedict on a biscuit with grits. The crabcake was huge and yummy, and didn't even need the biscuit (which was kind of cold and plain). The grits were off the chain delicious, and I would eat them all over again. The ambience was casual and it was quiet enough to talk, but also hear the people next to you. This place didn't seem like anything too special, but I could see why it thrived. One of my favorite places to eat! It's always delicious. I got The Garden Grazer burger but chose grilled chicken instead! My chicken was a little salty so I couldn't eat the whole thing but it was delicious and I appreciate the chef accommodating me. The Sweet Sticks & their Apple butter are OUT OF THIS WORLD! Delicious Beni's and $7 carafe of mimosas is all you need to start your day off great. They have outdoor seating year round. Which is especially enjoyable in the spring and summer. Great selection of local craft beer. The menu has a wide variety of food so your sure to find just the right thing to cure your appetite. This used to be one of the best restaurants in town, and their food is still really good. But they don't practice what they preach, and the server at the bar this afternoon was curt, snippy and self righteous. Their menu boasts of recycling, but their practice, as the pictures show, is anything but. The server put a straw in every glass, and when I politely said I did not want a straw, she became very demeaning and snippy. She ignored me, the rest of the meal. I visited Triangle yesterday (during the new COVID dining rules but before countywide curfew--weird times!). Our server was nice, friendly, and responsive, but I think they were understaffed as she rarely visited our table. I ordered a canned beer but since I was sitting on the patio, I could not receive a frozen glass for it. I was disappointed that their draft beer menu was very limited in terms of styles of beers. We ordered appetizers: two queso/chip orders and one tot poutine. One queso arrived cold while the other was warm, but both had about 1/3 the amount of chips you'd expect for that portion of queso. We asked for and received more chips. The tater tot poutine had good flavor, but the toppings were poorly distributed and came with barely any meat. Triangle was once my favorite happy hour spot years ago, but due to menu changes, eliminating daily specials, and limiting their beer choices, I do not need to continue to visit here. read more

Solid lunch spot. It's got an eclectic vibe and everyone here seems friendly and happy to see you. Service is slow but you don't mind because the music is good and you're enjoying the environment. I got the fiesta bowl with chicken. It was delicious. My wife ordered the strawberry fields salad and it was a major disappointment. It was the size of a small side salad. This place is great to grab a quick bite to eat or to catch a game on one of the many tvs. The patio is a great option, however as expected it can get a little stuffy if the blinds are drawn. They have great appetizers: Tot Poutine & the Brisket Mac Lollipops are my personal faves! Be prepared to eat because the appetizers themselves can definitely fill you up. I've been there a few times & the service is definitely an area that could be improved on, but overall its not enough of a deterrent to keep us from coming back. read more

If I could give it 3.5 stars I would. I will say that we got take out instead of eating there but I'm not sure what difference it would make. My hubs and I both got burgers with fries. His regular, me the sweet potato. The burger was pretty good if a little undercooked for my taste. It hit the spot well enough. Stopped by this place to reunite with friends from high school. I have to say I am reviewing a few days later because it was that kind of night. The service was great. From entrance to exit the staff was friendly and attentive. Shot glasses kept appearing and we kept drinking. LOL. The food, however, was okay. Nothing to write home about. I had the fish and chips which were overcooked. The breading was heavy which I am assuming is the cause. The oversized mammoth fish were on top of a small amount of fries on a plate that was too small for the presentation. Atmosphere is great. Parking is pretty easy if you get here early, but I recommend using a ride-share service. That's my $.02 and I hope this has helped you in your decision making process. read more

Came for brunch here with my friend who I was visiting and a bunch of her friends that were also visiting. $7 for a carafe of mimosa. Yeah, um I don't think there is much that beats that. Parking is horrible. They have a rather small lot that you can park in but you more than likely will have to find parking on the street. We came for Sunday brunch and made sure to try and beat the church going rush but we still waited for almost an hour because we had a large group. They have the typical brunch fare, omelettes, bennys (a variety of egg benedicts), pancakes and french toast. I did end up with the crab cakes benny with home fries. The home fries were great. Triangle is another great choice in the social hub that is Avondale. Because of that, it can definitely get very busy, especially on a game day or during brunch. The parking lot is also tricky so keep that in mind If you can ever visit when it's not so crowded that you can barely move, it's a wonderful place. It has a nice, open atmosphere and the drinks are perfectly priced. I've also never had any issues with the staff in terms of service. If you live in West Ashley and don't feel like going downtown, or you feel like trying out a new area of Charleston, Triangle is definitely a good spot to get your feet wet. Went on my first visit to Triangle with a group of friends (and the baby) after we'd successfully completed the Escape Room. Despite being very busy and having a somewhat large party, we were able to be seated quickly and our waitress was quick on the draw to get us our drinks. We got a round of apps (southwest 7, brisket Mac lollipops, egg rolls, and Avondale nachos... the southwest 7 nachos were ah-may-zing), various adult beverages, and then entrees. I don't remember what everyone got except my husband got the Cuban and was a little disappointed and the guy next to me got the po boy and the bread was just too much. I got the mahi tacos and they were pretty good. They needed the salsa that came with it to make them really bring it home but were otherwise very good. I've been here once or twice, but last night was to satisfy a late night craving for something sweet. There wasn't much for sweet on the menu, but we were offered up a brownie or a parfait thing. Instead, we chose to go with the mac n cheese brisket lollipop balls. There's a more technical name for it, but that's pretty much what it was. The mac n cheese was balled and fried with bits of brisket in there ... on a stick. I do wish that there was a bit more brisket inside, but I imagine it was limited because too much brisket, and your balls wouldn't hold together. For a drink, I washed it down with a Narraganset Lager (from Rhode Island), and my wife got the peach sangria. Normally not a sangria fan, but this was a good twist on the drink that allowed me to enjoy a sip. They closed at 9 last night, and we got there around 8:30. I go back and forth on Triangle. There are huge drawbacks and bonuses of this place. Pluses: tacos are huge and yummy, egg rolls are seasonal and to die for, nachos are the bomb and have bacon. The outdoor bar has misters to keep you cool and there is rarely a wait. Beer selection is expansive and speciality cocktails delish. Minuses: the staff are always in attentive and rude, we always get sat at terrible tables even if it's not busy, parking lot is tiny (at least there is one I guess) I keep going back because I love Avondale and it is centralized so you can people watch. And they are the only place that has my favorite beer, Sky Blue! read more

Please check out photos before reading. I don't expect much from restaurants - good tasting food, transparency, quantity, and an excellent customer service. We had a horrible experience yesterday. Last night, me and my family went for Taco Tuesday here on recommendation. Menu doesn't explain the portion sizes, quantity of tacos, or ingredients. Ordered 2 tacos each that came with chips & salsa. As visible, the tacos received are a joke. Tortilla is the size of a circus tent and we could barely find the food in 4 of our tacos. The remaining 2 were ok. The meat portion was extremely small, chips were hard to eat and very few for the price of 3$ per taco. We raised our concerns with the waitress, she called the manager who inquired about our situation, told us that on taco Tuesdays they have certain "portion sizes" (seems a bit sketchy if portion sizes equal 1/4 of the tortilla). Granted, they handled it well, brought us new 2 sets of tacos as indicated on the pictures. Those were much better in quantity and I guess even in taste. However, check out the tray - that grease is from eating ONE pork taco. Sorry, but the amount of grease and fat used was plain ridiculous. Each bite dripped so much oil in the basket it became funny. Additionally, the menu doesn't indicate that pork tacos are spicy for whatever reason and chicken tacos bland in taste. Overall, one star experience for me. I haven't seen the rest of the menu but that's ok, not going back. The ONLY reason I gave them 2 stars is the fact that they were apologetic and handled the situation (which should be an absolute given, in my opinion). This, for me, is a no-go. Side note - if a customer is being served deceivingly little amounts of food hidden in a huge tortilla, that to me seems like the business is just trying to hide the overpriced food items. I don't like feeling like being taken advantage of when eating out and yesterday was just the case. We were going to stop at a bar across the street based on their reviews but they closed due to staffing issues. So we looked around and found this place. I'm glad we did ! The host was so kind and patient with our party of 5 (3 kids/2adults). They let the kids pick their favorite spot and she was so kind. The waitress was attentive and always checking up with us even though they were busy. The atmosphere was great! Open area, designed nicely, and music from 80's to now. Thee food was great !
