Half Chicken - All Dark

Delivery ordered from here! First time Roasted chicken was so tender and it seems to be like my mother's food. Flavor wasn't very spicier or strong for digestion! Exactly what I wanted I will try to go to the restaurant soon and enjoy the the place

Halal chicken delicacy at its best! Highly recommend Its one of a best place to hangout with friends and family

Dined in today. We got the full chicken with two sides. The grilled chicken was nice and flavorful especially the spices. Medium was perfect. Pairing that with white sauce and it's delicious. Also it's a pretty healthy meal all things considered. Good stop for a fast causal meal. For the sides we had the yucca fries and salad. To be honest, the fries were on the stiff side. Not a lot of flavor. 3/5. If you dine in, the tables were wooden so it's very sticky. Service at the front was fine. I do notice that they don't really clean and clear tables. Probably a slower evening but the whole time we sat and got the food and ate and left the table across from us still was not cleaned. Overall, I'd still come back for the meal. But they can improve and make the experience a lot better!

Ordered via delivery service got 2 quarter legs and 3 wings and side combo. I got peri peri fries which honestly was tasty and plentiful. I would get that again. The combo came with 3 pieces wings which were just okay. The lemon flavor was underwhelming. The medium sauce is amazing. I paid extra for garlic sauce which also wasn't to my taste. The chicken was juicy, well cooked, but lacked any flavor. The included medium sauce saved this meal.

Plenty of food for left over

First time here and the food was amazing and fresh, will def be coming back, the guy in the front was informative on the specials and it was quick and easy.

Service & Ambiance: 3/5. You order at the register and the food is served to you at your table. The dining area is very casual. Food: 4/5. A summary of what I ordered: Half Chicken (Hot): 5/5. The chicken was very spicy and savory with a nice char on the outside and soft and juicy inside. Definitely try a less spicy option first if you're not used to eating spicy food, but this is an excellent choice for heat lovers. Peri Peri Fries: 4/5. Crunchy, nicely spiced fries but a bit too much on the salty side. Peri Mayo Corn: 3.5/5. Corn in savory mayo sauce. This was also a bit too salty for my liking. Chicken Burger: 3/5. Grilled peri peri chicken tender (you choose the heat level), with lettuce tomato, peri mayo sauce in between two slices of Ciabatta. Very basic and not that impressive, the taste is mostly that of the peri peri chicken which you might as well get stand-alone. Conclusion: You will enjoy it if you like spicy chicken. I recommend trying it.

I happened to be in the area and found this spot on Google Maps. It's located on a back street with shared parking lot. I went during lunch and it was pretty empty, I had had the place pretty much to myself. The store is very clean and inviting. The staff is very friendly and professional. I opted for a chicken bowl and a quarter chicken with pita. I wasn't in the mood for heavy spice so I opted for medium and it was perfect. The chicken was nice and tender with a subtile kick. They do warn you that their hot an every hot options are crazy, so if you are into that, it's available. Will definitely be back the next time I'm in the area. Worth trying if you are into Portuguese chicken.

I've been on the search for a really good peri peri chicken place since leaving CA. There's one we used to frequent all the time in Palo Alto, CA, but today we discovered Tribos Peri Peri in Saddle Brook, NJ and boy did it hit the spot!!! Reminiscent of our favorite Palo Alto joint, this place hands down puts me in my happy place! Must try! 6 lemon herb wings. WARNING: They are quite spicy!
Monica D.

Ordered the falafel app to share and I got the quarter dark meat chicken with medium sauce and regular size fries. My mom ordered the 6 wings with lemon herb sauce and yucca fries. The falafel was really good, nice sized and crispy exterior with a soft filling, yogurt sauce was great. Both regular orders of fries and yucca were actually enough to share. My chicken was very good, moist and flavorful and the heat level was what I expected, the piece of meat was on the small size though. My mom does not eat spicy food and said her wings were quite hot. She ordered them because they were listed on the bottom of the heat levels, she couldn't finish them. Those were also very below average sized. I would go back to try other items.

This is my go to halal spot in the area! It's taste, portion size, and price is Incomparable to other restaurants in the area. My only concern is the delivery services that fulfill the orders. Every time I deliver my food through them, the drivers always steal the food and I never see it (Uber eats, postmates, etc). At first I thought I just got bad drivers, but it happens no matter what service I use with this place. It's not the restaurants fault but keep in mind that pickup should be your first choice.

I've been to Tribos Peri Peri a few times now... And every time I go I am never disappointed. Yes they may take a little longer to get the food out to you than other places, but that's because they prepare the food right then and there instead of it laying around for a while. The freshness definitely gets five stars in the service there always comes with a smile. The sides are really great too. One thing that I really like about this restaurant is that during Ramadan (and I'm not Muslim myself) they offer a buffet to break the first. The place had many customers show up and the food was really fresh and wonderful. Every time I come with friends, we are greeted by very kind Staff and once in a while the owner will even lead by example and work at the counter.

$15.99 for this hard lamb strips. Never again.

Located inside Giants Farmer Market in Hackensack, this establishment can be found toward the back of the store. Being a newcomer, although I was 1 person, I did want to try more than one dish. After speaking with the one of the owners, I landed on a small oxtail/jollof rice dish ($18.99) and a combo plate of beef suya/jollof rice ($16.99). As I'm writing, in 2026, for a food stall --- that is a pricier tag than I'm used to, but then again, I've never had African Cuisine before, either. I waited about 20-25 minutes for my food (I didn't mind --- fresh is BEST!), so I just walked Main St. for a bit, then finished by touring the Farmers Market. After some time, the food was promised at the time I was told. That was good. Let's start with the main character: Oxtail and Jollof Rice. The oxtail was extremely tender and flavorful, I could tell it's been simmering on the stove-top for quite some time. The collagen was just melting right off! The jollof rice was drier than I expected. Having seen many videos of jollof rice on YouTube, I was expecting it to be a bit more wetter? Maybe. However, I think their "drier" version works since the oxtail is served with its sauce that it's been stewed it for quite some time. The suya? This was interesting. I got it "spicy"; it was a nice tickle. It was strips of beef with onion in this peanut-spice combo that was very earthy and aromatic. It felt like a cousin of Szechuan & curry, but with other flavor profiles as well. It was different! I'm glad I got to expirement with some of the African food offered at Viola Afrique! Overall, 4/5 experience. The owner was lovely to speak to, the food was good, just -1 simply for the prices. It's 2026. I get it. ;/

I was told you know it's a legit place since inside, there's hanging one of the most common Ghanaian house decorations, the wall mat with the famous woman smiling from ear to ear, holding a vessel and a large bowl. This place is definitely a hole in the wall, resembling more of a closet on the side of a building than an actual eatery. It's cash only, be prepared, and also you might have to ring the doorbell since the guy isn't always there attentive waiting at the door. Prices were fair for what they were offering. We got the Banku with okra soup and Waakye with goat meat. Both were legit, according to my friend, and reminded him of home so much that he closed his eyes. He said we definitely need to go back.

I first took my mom on May 20th during her birthday month, and we loved it so much that we went back again on June 17th. The atmosphere, service, decor, and live entertainment were all amazing. Bobbi Storm was absolutely wonderful. Her voice is beautiful, and she is so engaging with the crowd. What made it even more special is that she sang to my mom for her birthday, and she makes a point to personally sing to guests celebrating birthdays or special occasions. That added such a warm, memorable touch. The food was just as good as the vibe. My mom loves the ribeye, and on my first visit I had the jerk lamb chops. I was not expecting them to be as spicy as they were, but they were still so tasty. The second time, I tried the oxtails, and we also snacked on the apple salad, wings and beef patties, which were delicious as well. The portion sizes were not disappointing at all, especially for the prices and the show that comes with it. If you're looking for a nice strong drink, I definitely recommend the Papa Bois Punch. Expect to spend about $100-$115 per person, but to me, it was worth it for the full experience. I only have critic about the fish I wish there was more of a pan seared option than fried or the monk fish and the bussers need to be a little patient with clearing the table a few times they tried to take plates that still had food on it and drinks that were not finished. I also just found out they have a speakeasy, which makes me even more excited to go back. Lélé is perfect for groups, date night, a celebration, or even just a nice treat for yourself. Between the food, drinks, live music, and overall vibe, even the menu itself lights up for the dim atmosphere and beautifully crafted. Lélé will definitely see me again!

The biggest issue was the service, which honestly seemed to be the result of the restaurant being severely understaffed. Our waitress was incredibly kind and did the best she could, but she was essentially responsible for the entire dining room. The bartender was also working alone, and the kitchen was backed up to the point where we waited hours for our food. We seriously considered leaving, as several other tables actually did, but after investing so much time waiting, it felt pointless to start over somewhere else. Once the food finally arrived, it redeemed the experience somewhat. Everything was beautifully presented, flavorful, and the drinks were excellent. The only complaint was that the food wasn't served as hot as it should have been, which wasn't surprising given how backed up the kitchen seemed to be. The restaurant itself is gorgeous. The décor is beautiful, the space is large and thoughtfully designed, and it has a really upscale atmosphere. You can absolutely see the vision. I truly hope this was just an off day because there is a lot of potential here. However, with brunch priced at around $100 per person, the overall experience simply didn't justify the cost. For those prices, guests shouldn't be waiting hours for food or watching the staff struggle because there aren't enough people scheduled. I genuinely feel bad for the employees because they were set up to fail. While the food, drinks, and ambiance saved this from being a one-star review, I'm honestly not sure I'd return and risk having the same experience again.
