We had high hopes for this spot. The menu had a lot of great-sounding options. Unfortunately, ultimately even mild hot was too hot for us, and we can generally take a lot of spice. We went here on Saturday night around 8 pm. Placed an order, and order came out shortly after. Chicken was good ( although i confirmed several times that i wanted 1.5 chickens a medium spice and 1/2 chicken mild, he did 1 chicken medium and 1 mild, but we didnt care and just added more sauce). I went to the counter and requested they bring sauces with the food but the person at the register said to please just take it myself because they are busy :/. Then we got the perimayo corn, literally a drizzle of peri mayo with boiled corn under. We had to request more sauce, and mix ourself. Lastly we got the salad ( tribos) and seeing it was $8 i assumed it would be a nice salad. Literally a basic salad made with ice berg, and a few kalamata olives on top wish i got a picture because it was such an unfortunate salad. Ive had their salad before and its been good . Anyways -overall chicken and rice 9/10 Customer service and sides/salads need work for sure. Them being busy should not ever be on the customers cost and im always very generous with my reviews. But if you are giving a tip option, there should be some service involved i think. read more

Dined in today. We got the full chicken with two sides. The grilled chicken was nice and flavorful especially the spices. Medium was perfect. Pairing that with white sauce and it's delicious. Also it's a pretty healthy meal all things considered. Good stop for a fast causal meal. For the sides we had the yucca fries and salad. To be honest, the fries were on the stiff side. Not a lot of flavor. 3/5. If you dine in, the tables were wooden so it's very sticky. Service at the front was fine. I do notice that they don't really clean and clear tables. Probably a slower evening but the whole time we sat and got the food and ate and left the table across from us still was not cleaned. Overall, I'd still come back for the meal. But they can improve and make the experience a lot better! read more

The combo came with 3 pieces wings which were just okay. The lemon flavor was underwhelming. The medium sauce is amazing. I paid extra for garlic sauce which also wasn't to my taste. The chicken was very spicy and savory with a nice char on the outside and soft and juicy inside. Definitely try a less spicy option first if you're not used to eating spicy food, but this is an excellent choice for heat lovers. Peri Peri Fries: 4/5. Crunchy, nicely spiced fries but a bit too much on the salty side. Peri Mayo Corn: 3.5/5. Corn in savory mayo sauce. This was also a bit too salty for my liking. Chicken Burger: 3/5. Grilled peri peri chicken tender (you choose the heat level), with lettuce tomato, peri mayo sauce in between two slices of Ciabatta. I happened to be in the area and found this spot on Google Maps. It's located on a back street with shared parking lot. I went during lunch and it was pretty empty, I had had the place pretty much to myself. The store is very clean and inviting. The staff is very friendly and professional. I opted for a chicken bowl and a quarter chicken with pita. I wasn't in the mood for heavy spice so I opted for medium and it was perfect. The chicken was nice and tender with a subtile kick. They do warn you that their hot an every hot options are crazy, so if you are into that, it's available. Will definitely be back the next time I'm in the area. Ordered the falafel app to share and I got the quarter dark meat chicken with medium sauce and regular size fries. My mom ordered the 6 wings with lemon herb sauce and yucca fries. The falafel was really good, nice sized and crispy exterior with a soft filling, yogurt sauce was great. Both regular orders of fries and yucca were actually enough to share. My chicken was very good, moist and flavorful and the heat level was what I expected, the piece of meat was on the small size though. My mom does not eat spicy food and said her wings were quite hot. This is my go to halal spot in the area! It's taste, portion size, and price is Incomparable to other restaurants in the area. My only concern is the delivery services that fulfill the orders. Every time I deliver my food through them, the drivers always steal the food and I never see it (Uber eats, postmates, etc). At first I thought I just got bad drivers, but it happens no matter what service I use with this place. It's not the restaurants fault but keep in mind that pickup should be your first choice. read more

I've been to Tribos Peri Peri a few times now... And every time I go I am never disappointed. Yes they may take a little longer to get the food out to you than other places, but that's because they prepare the food right then and there instead of it laying around for a while. The freshness definitely gets five stars in the service there always comes with a smile. The sides are really great too. One thing that I really like about this restaurant is that during Ramadan (and I'm not Muslim myself) they offer a buffet to break the first. The place had many customers show up and the food was really fresh and wonderful. This place is average at best, definitely overpriced. When I saw they use peri peri flavors I was expecting something similar to Nandos. Everything I ordered with exception of lamb chops was flavorless. The wrap was soggy and literally the chicken had no flavor, corn was dry and not flavorful, and coleslaw was inedible. I brought my 1 star to a three star because I did enjoy the lamb chops, though overpriced. I paid $40 for what I thought would get me two meals and I barely got one meal out of it. I went here for dinner last night and wasn't disappointed. The staff is very welcoming. Their food was amazing! I went with their "All for 1 platter". It came with a half chicken, three wings and a side. The chicken was tender, juicy and fall off the bone. They're doing it right! Their rice was delicious as well. Now their hot sauce was most definitely spicy! I had no idea. I underestimated it. I know for next time not to go with hot and get medium instead. They provide you with hot sauce and white sauce in two separate bottles. I recommend this place. Definitely check them out. They have plenty of options for meat eaters and non-meat eaters. read more

YES! Porto's! It's about time! I have been to a comparable restaurant in Washington D.C. and that was glorious. So we went in on opening day, picked a table to sit and took a look at the menu. When we were ready, we went to the cashier and ordered the whole mild chicken with cole slaw and yucca fries as well as the garlic herb lamb chops. Note: lamb chops are not on the menu and this location has them for a limited time. So we got some extra plates, and before we knew it the food was served. The chicken was very tasty and flavorful, but even at mild you must pace yourself or else the heat builds up. The yucca fries were very good and so filling that I had to save a little more than half for lunch on another day. I am not a huge fan of cole slaw but this one was pretty good - I scarfed it down. My love's lamb chops though - I never heard of lamb chops flavored in garlic herb. If you like lamb chops, I urge you to go to Porto's because they will have it for a limited time and these are some top-notch meaty chops with great flavor on it. They also did have an Instagram promotion to get a free dessert at the time of this review so go ahead and ask about it. All in all, Porto's is really good and I hope people come thru to this restaurant, as it is as good as the comparable restaurant we dined at in Washington DC. Garbage service!!!!!!! I've been coming here ever since it's grand opening. So my story - I made an order over the phone for pick up. The entire order was written down. When I arrived the order hadn't even been submitted to the kitchen. I got attitude from the guy at the front who had taken the entire order down as evident by the hand written note but didn't action there order. He told me he thought it was for dine in - to which I responded so why isn't it ready. The purpose of ordering ahead of time is so you don't have to order in person and wait for the food to be prepared. Complete lack of customer service or care. 3.5 stars. We decided to try a new spot on our Sunday outing. My gf had sent me IG posts from Tribos and the food looked and sounded real good. There is no shortage of Portuguese chicken spots where I live so I was curious to see what Saddle Brook had to offer. The entrance for the restaurant is located in the back parking lot. The ambiance is cool and welcoming. We were warned that the hot and very hot options were VERY HOT! My girl is a spice demon so we went ahead and got 1/2 very hot and 1/2 mild to see the difference. For sides we got yuca fries and peri peri corn. They also offer free chicken soup while you wait, which is a nice touch, and perfect since we were told there would be a wait for our food. The corn was both of our least favorite. Not a fan at all. The yuca fries were hot, crispy, fresh and well seasoned. The chicken came out room temp and by the time we were halfway done was legit cold. We thought the wait was for the chicken to be cooked fresh. Of the 3 things we got the yuca was the only thing warm. The very hot chicken was spicy but not crazy. My girl wanted more of the "very hot" sauce on the side to dip but we were told they don't give any. My mild chicken tasted like a lemon herb, a totally different sauce. If the chicken had come out hot and fresh it would've been amazing, because the flavors were certainly there. I really looked forward to eating their chicken again, ordered ahead for pick up & ended up eating in. The lady on the phone was pleasant with answering my questions. Inside the place is empty at 4:30pm but a family of 6. I got the peri chips which are toasty crunchy seasoned waffle chips & are my favorite side here. I got the medium 1/4 chicken which is the breast & wing. Medium has a kick, not overly spicy where your nose is runny. They gave extra spice sauce but I didn't use that... I used their white sauce. The white sauce is Uhmazinggggg! I thought it was their periMayo sauce but the lady says it's the garlic sauce. I say get more of this when to-go! So 3 stars today is because I saw the inner bone joint was red, not sure if its raw because the chicken around it seemed cooked but I just stopped eating that section. Luckily I got to eating most of the chicken until I saw that. So end note... make sure the chicken is cooked well.
