    4. Meat Patties (Kofte Kebab) Entree
    Laura D.

Well, HELLO!!! My husband and I got an order of the Chicken Adana Kebab, and kiddo got the Meat Patties (Kofte kebab). The chicken and the piece my kiddo shared of his kofte kebab were very flavorful. The rice was also flavorful and soft. The order even came with a full pack of unopened pita; what a deal!!! The portions are big, so saving some of this for tomorrow. Highly recommend.

We stumbled upon this restaurant on our way to get some errands done, 10 out of 10 service was excellent Food was well seasoned and taste very fresh.

5 stars all around. Came here on a Friday night, they're open late which is great. My first impression of this restaurant was that it was beautiful and clean. Lots of seating options and truly everything was shining, beautifully decorated too. I grabbed a menu and looked it over. I went with the mix appetizer option and the cheese rolls for appetizers. Both were great. Their lebni and hummus are to die for. Absolutely delicious. The cheese rolls were super tasty too. I got the chicken kebab and it was perfectly cooked. Deliciously spiced and marinated chicken. Super tender too. The rice - oh my god. So so so good! My favorite. Everything was wonderful. I can't wait to come back and try more options and some dessert. The workers were all very friendly too. Highly recommend this spot!

Got the lamb kebab, gyro, and baklava. Lamb kebab was great, meat was juicy and firm. Gyro was ok, dry while being juicy via fatty meat aka dry and oily. I've never had baklava before but I knew it was supposed to look like, it wasn't amazing because the syrup had sunk and only touched the bottom layers of baklava. Also kinda sucks that they charged for extra sauce.

Very good and tasty food. I'll go back to try different food hopefully same as first time

Fire place for kebabs. Meat is seasoned well and cooked just perfectly. Rice and salad is also good. Highly recommend if you're in the mood for some kebabs.

The kebabs here are phenomenal, flavorful, juicy, and served with amazing spices and sauces that make for a real punch of flavor. Ranging from the chicken adana kebab to the side dish options like the hummus and babaganoush, it was clear that everything was super fresh and prepared with real authentic Turkish fashion. Compared to other kebab places, this place makes for a deliciously seasoned kebab without anything being overly salty or tough. Highly recommend trying this place if you're looking for something vibrant and flavorful for dinner.

Honestly i feel bad even leaving a review but i feel worse that i just got my Uber eats delivered and this was the size of the items i received . I understand the economy is bad but... FRIES? There's probably 12 fries, not even full size, in that container for $6!! Two kibbehs for $13?????? This hasssss to be a joke no sauces, no utensils, literally just one napkin. Not sure if this place has new management but if i wanted to pay for food and still be hungry after i would have never ordered .. I'm so sorry !

I've been seeing dishes from this place pop up on my social media for the last month, so decided to finally give it a try. We decided to eat outdoors on site, and were quickly greeted and seated. This place is great. The food was authentic, delicious, and fairly priced. The service was great. We had a long conversation with the owner's daughter and you can see the passion and authenticity this establishment brings. The main cook is the owner(father), his wife, and 2 kids help out. The daughter asked me if it was OK to give my kid some chocolate and I allowed it. When she heard me tell my kid to save some for my other kid who was home, she handed me another one. These little acts of hospitality go a long way. On to the food. We started with baba ganoush, which had the perfect texture and smokiness. Then we ordered the kibbeh, which was perfectly fried and was stuffed with well seasoned meat. For the main, we ordered chicken adana and beef adana. Both dishes came with rice, bulgur, salad, pita, and the kebabs. Both, the chicken and beef were so flavorful, juicy, and tender. We wanted an authentic hot sauce, so they have us a spicy cold vegetable appetizer(Acili Ezme) on the house, which was superb. The overall portion and size of the dishes were more for the price. Great value, amazing taste, and excellent service. Within the last 10 days, been there 3 times already.

Turkish cuisine is a unique combination of flavors, spices, and herbs developed over thousands of years, influenced by the Central Asian nomads and Arabic, Persian, Italian, French, and Eastern European cultures. While New York has some great Turkish food if one knows where to look, most of it leaves some room for improvement. Could Jersey be better? The town of Carlstadt has mainly residential private homes, with a spattering of condos and garden apartments. The main shopping area is all of about three blocks long on both sides of the street. Translated from the Turkish language, meaning sultan, we have come to this family-owned/family-run establishment located on Hackensack Street since 2006 for Saturday dinner. The reservation was easily made by Google Assistant. Upon entering this hidden gem called Hünkar Restaurant as first-timers, my partner, our friends, and I were greeted by the staff inside a cozy room, where ethnic pictures and decorations as well as the music all add to the vibe. A great view of the NYC skyline is visible from their enclosed back patio. Their menu features Mediterranean and Turkish cuisine with a modern twist and serves alcohol. As an appetizer, we decided on the Kibbeh (Icli Kofte), Calamari (Kalamar), and Cigarette Borek (Sigara Boregi). For our main meal, we opted for Chicken Saute (Taouk Sote), Shrimp Kebab, Lamb Shish Kebab (Kuzu Sis Kebab), and Chicken Shish Kebab (Tavuk Kebab). All Kebab meal accompanied by rice, char-grilled tomatoes, peppers, and a small salad. Warm, fluffy pida bread with a crisp crust started our meal. Every dish bursts with authentic flavor and is beautifully presented, from the fact that Turkish families from all over the area eat here. The staff is warm, welcoming, and very professional; our server was Akincan "John," the owners' son. The price was comparable to the area with the right portion. We can recommend this place.

It was 5pm on a slow Monday so we were seated right away. The interior is cozy, quiet, and clean. We started with 3 Mixed Appetizers along with their complimentary warm bread. The 3 dips were all solid but nothing out of the ordinary. Good flavor, smooth & creamy texture, and great for sharing. I love ordering dishes like the Mixed Kebab Platter for Two as we get a taste of everything and it's family-style. The presentation was beautiful, the meats were tender, and I like that they paired it with rice, bulgur, and some salad. All the meats were tender and well-seasoned but could've been hotter in temperature. I particularly enjoyed the chicken & lamb adana kebabs. My other minor complaint was the sides were not enough to share and the ratio compared to the meats was off. We definitely could've used more rice with the meats. Thus, "bous" = "cow" and "poros" = "crossing place": Bosphorus = "crossing place of the cow." A reservation was made for a party of 4 by calling their restaurant. Upon arrival after three years, we were welcomed by Nora, the owner, and made our way to a table by the piano inside, evoking a cozy, thoughtfully designed, upscale vibe with music playing softly. Their menu features Turkish and Mediterranean cuisine. For starters, we decided on the Puffed Rill Pastry and Grape Leaves. Our main meal consisted of all lamb dishes (Lamb Shish Kebab, Beyti Kebab, Lamb Chops, and Lamb Sauté). The meal came to about $20 per person (no drinks, just the entrée) and while the 'Kabob Koobideh' was a generous portion, the falafel sandwich (for $15) is wildly overpriced (it's about $10 from Greek Town right across the street, never mind about $8 from Mamoun's just about two minutes away over on Rt. 17N).
