Stopped in to grab an order to go. Got the Betty Boop with cheddar cheese. Can I just say I never eat cole slaw...like I hate it. But this cole slaw was soooo good! And my sandwich was just oozing woth cheddar, mushrooms and red peppers. So yummy! read more

Love coming to Tricia's!! They have THE BEST burgers, that taste so fresh. I think it's the chop meat and seasoning they use, but they taste like they are made fresh to order. Tuesday's they have a burger special, I believe it's buy one get one. Fries are not included. We usually get the seasoned fries, and they are delicious. Can't forget about the pickles/hot pepper and sauerkraut they put on the table to start! Delish! The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is the cleanliness, the place is definitely old school but that's what the decor is supposed to be, so I can appreciate that. I've been wanting to try this place for a while and I'm glad I finally did. My girlfriend and I really enjoyed the burgers. I also had the potato skins, which weren't bad. My girlfriend's sweet potato fries were crisp and tasty. They have a very diverse menu for a little cafe, including the beer selection. I look forward to returning and trying some of their other selections like tacos and quesadillas. read more

I'm reading some of these reviews and people are writing good service and nice people???!!!! Yeaaaa welllll uuuhhhhh,those people are either really good friends or family with the owners or people that work there or they're taking LSD before going there. This place is super small,maybe 10 tables and a bar with maybe 4 chairs so I don't understand how the service was so slow...then I looked at the bartender and he was not looking good,clearly hung over,bags under the eyes,kept sniffing his nose and wiping it,smoking ciggs in the back bringing in the stench with him and had that don't talk to me I have a hangover look...if I had to guess,it prob took him 5 Vicodin's jus to get out of bed...I mean this f'n place was slower than slow...but here's the catch....the food really is awesome,all of it...I thought them giving you a bucket of pickles was awesome but then I started thinking that they reused them if a table didn't finish them..who knows. So with all that said,I'd say your best bet is to just get take out cause like I said,the food is really good...but if they say it will be ready in 30 mins,show up in 60 cause it ain't gonna be ready 30...and double check that you got everything you ordered cause the dude running it is clearly a base head. read more

Only 2 waiters for the entire place. one of the female waitresses was extremely rude, rushing around, almost spilling the plates she placed on the table without even a word. They have a lot of Southern-style food, so it's good if you have a hankering for spicy Cajun food. Before you start your meal, they serve you a huge bucket of pickles, pickled tomatoes, pickled peppers, and saurkraut. The decor is nostalgic, and has a great selection of local beverages. I'm sorry but this place fell short in service and food. I couldn't even tell you who our server was. Different people came up to us several times but that doesn't mean anybody was around to ask for a refill on our drinks or anything. Very few tables and someone would pop out from the back randomly to drop food and run. The crab soup - how anyone could say this is good!!! That boggles my mind. I hesitate to write this review because the place is small and there is sometimes a wait for a table. However, it is so good, I just have to share. The food is wonderfully fresh and well prepared. The fried clams are amazing. All the food we have had is amazing as well, but the fried clams call for a special mention. The sweet potato fries are a nice touch and cooked well (I can't stand when they are undercooked). They have some nights when the do burger specials and such, but we just go when the mood hits and have never been disappointed. While I am sure the burgers are good, I'd hate to miss ordering their wraps, seafood and other more interesting fare. The Betty Boop sandwich is simple but really hits it as well. The only downsides are the number of tables and the parking. Both are signs of a well loved place, so we grumble, but come back anyway. read more

I used to love my crayfish when I was younger. Crawfish, the less humanized term for the critters, are somehow something I've never eaten before. Perhaps this is because I've never been down south long enough to try them, or because I just couldn't stomach eating the poor little dudes without repressed memories re-surfacing. But I digress... The complaints about parking in Babylon baffle me, with huge omnipresent free lots and not much walkking required, but I guess the eternally entitled frequenters feel they should not have to walk more than 2 feet from their car to the door of their destination. But I digress... This is a review of Tricia's Cafe, you say? OK. Fine. I admire the Cajun endeavor, and echo the sentiments of busyness, which rang true in the tiny but surprisingly well-spaced joint. The room to roam was a welcome change from the sometimes-cramped nature of its counterparts, and there's a little bench by the door, assisting in the placating hungry folks during the advertised wait time. Personally, I strolled up to the bar, which was backed by two of the tiniest two bar TVs I've ever seen and buttressed with BK brewery taps and a BK decor potpourri. It took a little while to get helped, but more because of the fact that everyone seemed to be juggling 4 things at once, rather than due to any indifference by the staff. Consequently, there are quick waits and speedy table turnovers at Tricia's, and--at least in my short stay--the place ran like a well-oiled machine. Though I didn't see crawfish on the menu I was handed, I had seen it on their site beforehand (which you should hit up for a coupon if you plan on spending $20+) so I went for it. The friendly and very competent barkeep hooked me up with a crawfish po boy with an ETA of "15-10 minutes" and I bounced, walking the streets mulling over elementary school crustaceous death. (I very reluctantly chose Tricia's as my deflowering jump-off for the seafood item) I was offered a water and a wait at the bar and declined fries, so nothing can be said against the accommodating nature of the operation here. Get to the food already, you plead? Wel, I'll start by saying the side slaw was slammin' and the rest was solid, but not bangin'. Good noshery, albeit for $7.61 and not much in terms of accompaniments (& to go). There was a chargrilled bun, an onion or two, a tomato, and some cajun sauce to be dipped/poured. No silverware or napkins made the accoutrements a bit of a challenge, even after I channeled the Cajun mindset. I roughed it out on a bench nearby that may have belonged to another fine Village establishment, but it's all good. Overall, the place is well-run, the food decent but a bit overpriced (though admittedly decidedly esoteric)--gladly not as greasy or heavy as it could have been, yet still not lacking flavor. Note: You could easily walk right past Tricia's American Cafe and not notice it, but stand outside watching the door, and the foot traffic in and out is staggering. Normally I'm pretty free-giving with the 4s, but at a 3.5, I feel I need to shy away from that trend, so it shall remain a 3 'til an agreeable dine-in return warrants a full 4. read more

Tricia's had me at hello (the sweet potato fries)... and all the way through to my betty boop chicken sandwich. Not terribly fancy, which is what I love about this place. There's a very cozy feeling. We love the food here BUT this is definitely a little hole in the wall kind of place. It needs a serious deep clean and the main wait staff can be very off. One guy is often texting in the middle of a busy service and when you are waiting on drinks or apps that can be frustrating. Take out can run an hour or longer to pick up but their coconut shrimp or regulus at boiled shrimp are fabulous along with their wings, Mae West burger and fish and chips. read more

This place is a neighborhood staple in Babylon. It was actually the first place in Babylon I went to when I was dating my husband. If you read my reviews often you're probably sick of me mentioning my husband, it's just I go with him to most of the places I end up reviewing. I also just like to say I have a husband. This place is uniquely decorated with a lot of old school paraphernalia on the shelves and on the walls. It's a tiny place and although you can find a seat in the afternoon and on weekdays, the weekend nights can be crazy. There's a small bar you can sit at for some drinks or just to wait for your table. Tricia's signature is to bring out a basket of pickles and a hot pepper before your meal instead of a bread basket. The prices are awesome, they are really cheap but the food is good for the prices. I would suggest trying the sweet potato fries with maple syrup, it's like eating a french toast stick but much much better. The Caesar salads are amazing, they use fresh Parmesan cheese which is a plus I won't order it from a place if they serve powdered parmesan on the salad. The one down side for me at Tricia's is the coffee, I've tried it a few times and didn't really like it all that much. If you are not interested in the coffee you should like the place and enjoy it. read more

This was my second time here, first time was very good that's why I came here again for the Thursday special of burger and a brew for $10. The Thursday special turned into $54 for 4 beers and 2 burgers. It's odd that the fries have to be added to your order aside from the burger. The bartender never greeted us on our way in, and we had to sit ourselves. We also had grab our own menus bc no one came over to us for about 10 minutes. The beer was warm and we never got checked up on to see if we needed anything. We were only given 1 napkin each for our meal. The kitchen was Smokey and it smelt like smoke when we walked in. As well as the beer selection being pretty weak. Would not recommend this place and would not come back again. read more

Went here on a tuesday evening for dinner with 4 other people. we were seated quickly, and our order was taken in a timely manner. The place has interesting things on the walls and although we sat up front, I did take a peek in the back. We ordered the Burger special of two burger platters for $15, and the wings by the pound special. both were delicious! The only reason for taking off a star is that it took about 45 mins to get our food served to us! It is also customary for them to bring pickles, which they didn't, even after we requested them since we were hungry! They were busy, but other people came in near us and were served much faster. In my opinion, there should never be a wait time of 45 mins for a burger and wings....very simple food to prepare, which most people were ordering. AND they never apologized, nor did they come and explain the delay while we waited...they basically ignored us except to ask if we wanted more beer. Needless to say, the beer was gone by the time the food came. Also, the yelp site says they have a "full bar", but they only have beer and wine. read more

The food at Tricia's is amazing, but it just takes soooo long. Make sure if you go that you are willing to wait a very long time for a table and then even longer for your food, they have a very small kitchen. Good option for lunch, or a very early dinner. The servers are usually very friendly and the crowd is nice, laid back, locals vibe. Try the grilled veggie avocado ranch wrap, it's amazing. Not good for large groups, its very tiny! read more

Every time i go i order a pound of shrimp and I'm sure the rest of the menu is good but i cant get passed the shrimp... Amazing. Next time ill try something else. I had gone on line to Yelp and read other visitor's reviews of this local Babylon NY hangout. The reviews included reviewer's statements included the following: 1. The hamburgers are great 2. On Friday evening July 5, at about 615PM three of us visited the restaurant based solely on the basis of the Yelp reviews before mine. We were show promptly to one of three empty booths. No matter the place filled up while we were eating. So we considered ourselves very lucky. A server brings a silver bucket of sour pickles, sour tomatoes and 1960's style cole slaw --something you don't ever get in most places nowadays. There were myself a 64 year old man, my son 34 year old man and my wife. My wife does not like spicy food. As a starter my son and I shared the starter Buffalo Chicken Fingers. The fingers are actually triangular shaped spicy very thin chicken fillets. It is served with cooling cream based dip. The chicken was tender cooked and breaded perfectly, and properly covered all the way around in their red buffalo hot sauce. The sauce had the proper thickness, and for me the proper amount of HEAT. Each of us ordered a different kind of burger with white potato fries. Each of us ordered the burger done Medium Rare. All were done correctly to order My wife and I had coffee and I had Bourbon Pecan Pie warmed by flame ( I could taste that it was NOT HEATED in a microwave) The coffee was very strong, but not burnt. The pie was delightful. The place is small and reminds you of some place that was around during the 1950's (for those who remember). The booths are small but adequate. The service was no slow. I have been a patron of Tricia's for years and have never once been disappointed with the experience. Sure it takes a long time for food to come out at times but I attribute that to the fact that everything is made fresh and done right. The staff is endearing, friendly and knows their regulars by name. Even the new waitress remembered my name after serving me only twice before.
