Stopped by with some of my friends for a coffee before brunch! The atmosphere was nice, the people were friendly, and the menu was also explained to us! I ordered a Honey Lavender Latte, and I can't lie, it might've been one of the best coffees of my life!! It was super refreshing and the perfect sweetness. The lavender flavor was bright but not too strong, and I think the bee pollen on top was a fun touch. Even as the ice melted in my drink over time, the coffee didn't lose its flavor and I enjoyed every sip til my cup was empty :) GAH I can't wait to go back for more!!
Service was incredible. The young man who helped me was super hospitable and went above and beyond. Since it was my first time, he walked me through the menu, recommended their most popular drink which was the Son of a Sailor and even told me about their protein pastries and donuts. I ended up getting the protein coffee cake and a burrito. The coffee was great, the burrito was stuffed and actually nutritious, and the coffee cake was packed with nutrients too... maybe a little hard to swallow but still tasty overall. Awesome first experience I'll definitely be back
Very good coffee and a great spot to take a break. They have gluten free pastries and a nice selection of unique cold brew drinks that are definitely worth trying. The protein bar was also delicious.
The coffee was very good! I usually don't like coffee too much but their horchata drink was perfectly sweet. The drink did take a lot longer to make than I expected but it's a small shop with minimal staff so it makes sense. Cute interior and small seating area
My family and I were staying at the Hotel del Coronado for the week and we wanted to find a local coffee shop for breakfast. Trident Coffee came highly recommended, but sadly it did not hit the mark for us. We ended up going to Better Buzz the following days for our coffee and breakfast fix. This place is not cheap for a quick brekkie and coffee. I ordered the Daily Rations Cold Brew with Cold Foam ($7.70) and a Breakfast Burrito ($13.95) which came out piping hot. The burrito is not hefty by any means, but this is Coronado and not San Diego proper so I don't hold that against them. Think of it as more of a wrap. My one complaint about the burrito is that the filing is chopped up and coated in sauce so it's just a mushy experience (see picture). I was stoked when I read that it included hash brown, but since it wasn't a whole crispy hash brown, you couldn't tell the hash brown from the egg or the sausage coated in the cheesy sauce. I hate to say it, but it just tasted sloppy. The 2 gentlemen working are passionate about their craft and very friendly. This place is popular with the locals and military community and I respect that. They do offer a military discount for those eligible. Thank you to all who have served and are currently serving. I'm glad I visited and supported a local business, but this place just wasn't for me.
My pittie, Cali, and I popped into this adorable coffee spot on Friday afternoon. I'd just gotten some gelato down the street & Cali was feeling a little left out of treat time, so we were in search of a pup cup! We bopped into Trident Coffee which is one of the cutest coffee shops I've ever seen! Cool nautical looking light fixtures, an Octopus mascot keeping watch over the place & lots of interesting coffee, tea & nibbles options. There are a few chairs inside & few tables/chairs outside as well. The kindest barista ever was so excited to see us, especially Cali, and he made us feel so welcome. He kindly offered her a pup cup and he delightedly gave it to her. Cali loved every aspect of this interaction & I really appreciated how nice he was to my pup. This interaction really warmed my heart so much and I will definitely stop by again the next time I'm in Coronado! Mahalo!
Solid choice for a coffee fix. We tried the salted caramel cold brew and hazelnut latte. I was pleasantly surprised by how tasty the cold brew coffee was. Usually I'm not a fan of cold brew because I like my coffee a little more on the creamier side. Very unique flavors. Service was also good. They have military discount as well. We didn't see the sign until after we've already paid. But good to know!
super cool store known for their specialty cold brews! we tried the Honey Lavender Latte and Blackberry Cobbler Latte, and they certainly add enough cream/ flavor that they taste more like lattes, but with the cold brew bases. drinks weren't insanely sweet, definitely recommend if you want to be adventurous!

My friend wanted to go for a birthday run in Coronado. I wanted coffee right after the run which was something I looked forward to as I pushed myself to finish the run LOL. I found this shop with a variety of cold brew options which also included nitro cold brews on the tap! As a coffee drinker, I definitely had to check it out. The location that we went to is located next to some local shops on Orange Ave in "downtown" Coronado. There's a lot of free street parking around the area but could get very hectic and almost impossible to find during holiday season, dinner hours, and weekends. My boyfriend and I wanted to try their cold brew flight, however, they only had 2 sets for the flights which was already taken by another couple. Whaaat sad. Instead, I got their New Orleans Cold Foam, one of the cold brews, annnnd it was kind of sour. It was kind of confusing, giving sweetish taste but with the sourness kept overcoming the coffee bitterness that I was looking for. I personally don't like sour cold brews but that's my own preference. Some people might enjoy them sour, but I don't think they should be sour... However, my friend and boyfriend both liked it though. My boyfriend got their Mexican Mocha, not sweet at all surprisingly! It was quite good, and the aesthetics of the drink were beautiful! Definitely a lot better than the one I got. I was bummed that I couldn't try their cold brew flight but after trying the New Orleans Cold Foam, I was a bit glad that we didn't. Maybe it was a one off day where their cold brew was steeping too long... I definitely will give it another go in the future to try their flight in the future though.
I got the trident cold brew with oat milk and my bf got the turmeric latte with oat milk. Usually i am a fan of sweeter milky coffee drinks but i was pleasantly surprised with my cold brew drink! It was very smooth and didn't taste bitter at all. Normally I add sweetness to my drinks but the cold brew was super refreshing on its own without any sweetness. The turmeric latte was sweet and had a cinnamon taste and my bf loved it as well. Would love to come back the next time I am visiting Coronado!!

I'm a cold brew kind of guy. Trident is a big W for me because they offer several varieties of cold brew, fancied up versions with added flavors and sweeteners and even cold brew flights. Swoooooon. Quaint little shop right in the thick of it on Orange Ave in Coronado. Close to the beach, tons of people watching and very walkable. Clean establishment and friendly service.

Found this place on a little stroll through Coronado. It's very cute inside and just has a nice theme. The barista that helped me is very nice, they have an assortment of food and a pretty big drink menu. I got one of the infused coffees and a protein doughnut, didn't really like the protein doughnut which was a bummer cause i LOVE donuts, could have been my taste buds though but the coffee was okay. I'd return to try what else they have in terms of drinks. read more

This coffee is soo good! Also the protein donuts are such an amazing offering. I'm always looking for a yummy treat that isn't going to ruin my macros for the day. These are delicious. I also loved their unique cold brew offerings. The blackberry cobbler cold foam was super yummy. Hannah and Jessica were super patient with all of my questions, even offering the macros on the donuts! It was such a great experience! Everyone here was so wonderful and friendly! My husband and I stopped by to try it out during our time in Coronado, and it was 100% worth it. Being pregnant I can only have a certain amount of caffeine and they completely customized my drink so I could enjoy a version of their salted caramel mocha drink (it was delicious). Another customer had grabbed & opened my drink thinking it was theirs, but everyone working there just kindly remade my drink for me. With five stars, I wasn't sure the experience would meet the hype but I had a great experience! We both ordered flat whites with oatmilk and they were delicious! We also got a couple of the canned nitro brews to go. I was a little bummed that none of the protein donuts were vegan but they did have some peanut butter bites as an alternative option. This coffee shop is the real deal from this coffee lover. I love to check out coffee shops everywhere and this was one of the best coffees I gave had in a long time. The baristas were knowledgeable and answered questions and the place is small but cute. With coffee like this even if it was a cave it would be worth the trip. We try new coffee shops, avoiding the "big name brands." We tend to find some amazing locations and new flavors. Trident did not let us down. Had the old fashion cold brew-yup! Heard right! AMAZING smooth bourbon flavor with the aroma of bourbon in the cold foam. If you're not a bourbon drinker- you may be one after having this drink! Also had the horchata cold brew w cinnamon-YUMMY-very creamy with a calm sweet flavor of the infamous horchata. Reminded me of my abuelitas "arroz con leche." Big shout out to Alec and Paige who took the time to describe the brews and the differences to expect in the canned coffee we bought to go. So down to earth and friendly. This location is owned by a Hero. Trident is a must try and now a for sure location when in Coronado! Onward!!! read more

Trident Coffee- a little coffee spot in Coronado. It's tempting to get distracted by Starbucks, Panera, or Clayton's for coffee, but I think this local coffee spot is the one to support! They also offer military and first responder discounts. Parking Street parking only, on Orange the busiest street in Coronado, good luck! So cool to see a coffee shop with Keto selections exist! I was bummed that a lot of their baked stuff ran out, but I was able to try their churro donut and their keto lavender latte. On the side of the store is a fridge that sells most of their flavors in a can if you're looking to grab some to bring home! My coffee had that signature lavender syrup flavor, but the coffee aside is not strong. It was more on the watery side. The churro donut, however, was so delicious! Not dry and pairs well with the coffee. It's more like a cake but shaped like a donut. I loved the theme and concept here, it was a good experience and I would definitely recommend the baked goods as they make nice desserts for keto :) read more

If you're a coffee lover or want a coffee experience it's definitely worth giving the Trident a shot, it's like a brewery but for coffee! Also, What a great story behind these coffee shops. We came in for a Yelp event and got two expressos, one Lavender and one Hazelnut. The flavors itself were both veryyyyyy light, we almost couldn't taste either and mostly tasted milk and expresso but the lightness of the expresso somehow made the drink very refreshing. I absolutely love how they don't douse the drink in ice like many coffee shops do. It was a great balance. The person that helped us had great customer service skills and gave us great info on the nitro cold brews they also had. We can't wait to come back to try all the nitros! The taproom features 7+ different single origin nitro cold brews ranging from $5-$6 depending on the size. There are also normal coffee and espresso options. I had the "Son of a Son of a Sailor" which is a light roast Mexican Chiapas coffee with cinnamon and cocoa nibs infused into it. The coffee was very smooth and the taste of cinnamon was notable. We were walking along the main strip after having toured the hotel and beach. Trident was in the area so my wife stepped in for a coffee along with a couple others in our group. It is a local shop which is always appreciated and preferred over something like Starbucks. The store is quite small, but serviceable. It was well maintained and the staff was pleasant. The reports on the coffee was that it was fine. No one really complained about it, but no one raved about it either. read more

For a place with such a high rating, I was expecting better coffee. I tried the Blueberry Cobbler Latte and the Trident Cold Brew, but both were watered down and lacked flavor. The cold brew was slightly better, but still disappointing. On the bright side, the service was very helpful. read more
