Love Coffee N Talk! Their pistachio latte is SO good and easily one of my favorites. It has the perfect balance of pistachio flavor without being overly sweet, and I find myself coming back just for that. Stopped by for a workday breakfast/ lunch, ordered a matcha latte, breakfast burrito, and granola bowl. Don't think the yogurt was Greek yogurt but was not bad. Had high hopes for the matcha latte and breakfast burrito but unfortunately both were pretty bad in my opinion. Matcha latte- wayyy too sweet. Asked if there is any syrup they said no but the matcha was premade with sugar already. Doesn't taste like high quality matcha, but covered with sugar so you can't taste it. Breakfast burrito was premade and delivered in the morning which is fine. But when they reheat it it was soaked in oil before they put in oven and it's like a deep fried burrito. Can't taste any real eggs. Looks drastically different than the photos posted. Overall a very disappointing experience. read more

[[HIGHLIGHT]]This spacious coffee house sits right on Broadway. There is plenty of seating inside and some outdoor patio seating, too[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. They offer plenty of coffee drinks and food, too. My large cold brew was fine but $7.00 is pricey. I know everything is expensive these days but seven bucks seems a bit too much. Worth a try. read more

I was staying across the street and saw this place and thought I'd give it a try and was very pleasantly suprised. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The inside is an insanely clean shop, with lots of seating inside and out as well as friendly staff.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The employees were extremely friendly and had everything out almost instantly. I needed a 2pm pick-me-up and this coffee spot seriously delivered. The two girls working were so kind and welcoming, it made the whole experience even better. We ordered the Aloha iced latte and the pistachio honey latte and OMG... both were just perfect. The Aloha latte was refreshing with tropical notes- smooth, slightly sweet, and super easy to sip. The pistachio honey latte was rich, with that nutty pistachio flavor coming through strong, balanced by a natural honey sweetness. The location is super convenient, right next to the Santa Fe trolley stop and Coaster station, which makes it an easy stop whether you're commuting or just exploring. I wanted to try the aloha latte and went with the cinnamon roll latte w/regular milk (a seasonal drink) instead. I asked for 50% sweet and my, that drink was still way too sweet. Just FYI: A large latte is ~$9-10. The cinnamon roll didn't really taste too cinnamon-y but it also didn't give me the that "cinnamon roll" flavor. I would go back to try the aloha since it's a unique item on their menu. I did appreciate that the hot latte was served at an already drinkable temperature. If you like it really hot, might have to ask. We love a spot that supports the community! Even in a small way as having a little bulletin board is so special. I haven't found a good coffee shop in a while, and my dry spell is finally over. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Walking in on a rare rainy Saturday morning in downtown SD and the vibes are just right. And I noticed that she was nice with everyone, there was this lady with a problem with her leg so she made sure she brought her the food and the drink drinks to her table, I thought that was so nice! I was going to buy coffee from another coffee place, however it was taking too long to wait from that store so I went to buy coffee here The woman who was coffee tending ( like bar tending) could be friendlier. I thought i just had high expetation, anyway it was my first time to buy there. On my 2 nd time, I decided to treat myself with a better coffee so I went there again. I stopped in here after a run with my little one, having previously looked at the menu. The space is nice and would be great to have a meeting or work in. The outdoor patio is nice, and enclosed so my toddler had some space to move, while I could enjoy the sights and sounds of the city. I got an iced raspberry latte, which was so sweet I could barely drink it. I think the coffee has good flavor but I couldn't tell from all the raspberry. I do love the cups and the lids- no annoying lip that makes you need a straw. I ordered my daughter the oatmeal and I got myself the nutty açaí bowl. My daughter did not like her oatmeal, which was surprising to me, but when I tried it it was so bland- it had no flavor or sweetness- I couldn't even eat it. My açaí bowl was delicious and filling, but the açaí was practically frozen so I couldn't really mix the bowl up- if it weren't so hard it would've been perfect. If I ever come back to SD I may give it another shot, but not while on this trip. read more

I love how spacious this spot is! There's a spot for everyone: front patio, window watching, tables for 2, couch, & communal table. There was only two workers, but they were kind and fast working. I ordered the Iced Aloha Latte with regular milk, ~$6. It consisted of macadamia nut syrup, coconut powder, espresso, and milk. It was pretty sweet, like drinking liquid sugar. I wish that they cut back on the coconut powder (I think it comes sweetened!), less milk. The macadamia nut syrup tasted very light because the coconut powder drowned it out with the sweetness. I think the macadamia syrup could be really delicious with the espresso if it was better balanced! I did enjoy that coconut flavor though! For a specialty latte this was priced pretty nicely! My friend had the Cinnamon & Honey Latte (hot) with alternative milk. He enjoyed it! I would come again, but ask for less sweet next time. They also had pastries, smoothies, etc. So, I'll be sure to check it out in the future. I recommend this spot on Broadway! read more

I ended up here on accident since the cafe I had mapped to was closed --- but I'm so glad I got rerouted! This cafe is a great place to sit and catch up with friends, work remotely, and grab a coffee/meal! They have a wide variety of coffees, smoothies, pastries, sandwiches, etc. I got their specialty Salted Caramel Latte and it was amazing! It tasted a lot like butterscotch (which they told me it would) and I drank it so quick since it was just the kick I needed this morning. I also got a croissant which was a good pair with my coffee. Recently tried Coffee N Talk while visiting San Diego on a work trip. The coffee was great, the food was delicious, and the service was excellent. The cafe is cute and has a nice ambiance. The workers who were working were so sweet and made sure to ask us many questions to get our orders just right. I totally spaced and forgot to get pictures of my coffee or food, because I just dug right in. I had the Avocado Toast (it was insanely delicious) and an Iced Lavender Oatmilk Latte (also very tasty). Definitely recommend! read more

I love their almond croissants, They only make A small batch I want to say like 3 daily so they are always sold out. If you get there early enough you should try it. The space is really big, staff is nice and I they have a reward system. The points do expire so pay attention of that. But this is my go to local coffee spot read more

Coffee is not the best but not the worst either. I feel like their beans taste too burnt. Kinda reminds me of Starbucks. I usually get a latte with syrup to mask the flavor. Haven't tried their food yet. I'll have to give it a try next time. read more

A few city blocks from the courthouse on Broadway. Went to lunch and decided to grab coffee on my way back. Service was super fast. Plenty of seating and perfect for gatherings (much like the name would suggest). They had an orange mocha latte that I got iced and half sweet. I arrived just before the morning rush, so I was able to order and get my drink almost immediately. The cashier was super friendly and welcoming, which made for a great first impression. I also really appreciated that they offer a military discount--it's always nice to see businesses supporting the military community. I ordered a medium cold brew with coconut cold foam and asked for very light ice. I was so happy they actually listened! So many coffee shops still fill the cup with ice even when you ask for light ice, and I hate watered-down coffee. This one was perfect. The coconut cold foam was absolutely delicious and added just the right amount of sweetness to complement the bold flavor of the cold brew without overpowering it. I also love that they serve organic coffee. I'll definitely have to remember to stop by more often whenever I'm in Coronado in the mornings. Next time, I need to try one of their donuts too!

When I finally made it to the register the employee said "we are pretty backed up it'll be about a 25 minute wait on food or espresso drinks". You're kidding. I was forced to order a hot coffee (which I never drink - not bad actually) to save time and get back to my business. As I was leaving the customer who had chatted with the barista for 20 minutes and wasted everyone's time got BACK IN LINE! If there are events in the area you need to STAFF ACCORDINGLY. Get your act together, this is an embarrassment to the Bird Rock name.

We chose the chicken & broccoli bowl that also contains rice and shared it between the two pups...not a drop left! I decided on the Malibu Beef Burger which was cooked to perfection and was such a great burger with a tad of mess (which is what makes a burger the best!) They don't offer french fries but roasted potatoes or mashed potatoes so I chose the roasted ones. They were so good and there was also a lightly dressed arugula salad, which was a perfect side! Wife got the Stop Light Trio tacos which comes with three tacos (the green-chicken, raw brussels, cilantro crema, the yellow-butternut and spaghetti squash with a mango habanero salsa, and the red-hanger steak, pickled cabbage, onion, and salsa roja). She loved the yellow one best followed by the red one but I'm all for the green one...it was delicious!). And we had to splurge with a piece of their grilled chocolate cake...yup grilled! We were told that the cake was torched around the sides and it creates a nice toasty edge. So decadent and thick and rich and lots of chocolate! Overall an excellent meal along with some great service! We had a server change during our meal but we were wowed by the service from everyone. Taylor was the server who ended our service. I did like that it included the yolk on the top and the chips were good and it had a good flavour but it just seemed a little too salty for me. We had a ribeye steak to share that was perfectly cooked medium rare and the butter was delicious for the sides. We had the truffle fries and we had the onions on red wine. The onions were my favourite part of the sides. I could not leave without the dessert and we decided to go with a banana foster. They do a table side show that was amazing and it was a delicious dessert. Service throughout the night was great. Overall, I will say that I will be back for Drinks and if we decide to have a meal here, I would definitely get the Caesar salad the onion on red wine side and the banana foster. The steak was good, just not great I would be willing to try a different cut or protein. For the pricetag, I would've expected everything to be great, which is why four.

The overall ambiance of the store is very aesthetic and nicely kept but what really made me confused was there was a complete lack of trash bins. The only way you could dispose of your trash was giving it to a worker which was inconvenient because there are a total of 2-3 workers who are always busy because of the long line. For the price of the matcha and drinks, I'd expect more. I would not come here unless you love waiting in lines for some below average pastries and drinks.

For the double matcha the matcha foam is super fluffy and creamy. Matcha on matcha was what I needed to fuel my soul. The pistachio was a dream. Rich, nutty, velvety, and creamy. I keep saying I will try their coffee next time but I am a sucker for matcha that's for sure.

I used to always go to Coffee & Talk, but never go there anymore. Their croissants are good, but the rest of the food is below average. Let's talk oatmeal. I ordered it once, and seriously, it took them a good 30-40 minutes to bring it out, and when it finally arrived, it was more like oatmeal soup. I swear, I think they forgot about it entirely until I checked up on it. It was a total letdown, drowning in water like it took a wrong turn in a rainstorm. And it was just basic oatmeal, nothing crazy but def not cheap for oatmeal. read more

This past Sunday, I decided to head over for a morning walk and finally stopped in again. The shop is pretty small with limited seating, so it's not really a place to hang out. It seems more like a grab-and-go coffee spot. There aren't many great coffee shop options in this part of Coronado, so I can definitely see why it's popular with both locals and tourists. I arrived just before the morning rush, so I was able to order and get my drink almost immediately. The cashier was super friendly and welcoming, which made for a great first impression. I also really appreciated that they offer a military discount--it's always nice to see businesses supporting the military community. I ordered a medium cold brew with coconut cold foam and asked for very light ice. I was so happy they actually listened! So many coffee shops still fill the cup with ice even when you ask for light ice, and I hate watered-down coffee. This one was perfect. The coconut cold foam was absolutely delicious and added just the right amount of sweetness to complement the bold flavor of the cold brew without overpowering it. I also love that they serve organic coffee. I'll definitely have to remember to stop by more often whenever I'm in Coronado in the mornings. Next time, I need to try one of their donuts too!
