My man's told me that a LATTE, does NOT come with coffee in it lol. He served me steamed, warm milk with a pump of caramel flavoring even after I asked him to put a shot of espresso in it if in fact lattes generally don't come with them. This gets two stars because this spot is small but really adorable and the guy behind the counter was extremely patient with us while we were ordering and was confident with explaining to us some of the menu items (almost too confident with my coffee-less latte lol). I think he might have just been new and/nervous and not thinking clearly...? Idk. But needless to say cute ass spot, didn't really get to try the coffee. Prolly won't ever drive to Coronado just for their coffee so... read more

Yey for the location! Fresh and Modern Ambience! Gluten free selection. Service is good. Tried theirs Charcoal Cappuccino and that was surprisingly confusing not in the good way. Lesson learned no need to invent the wheel just will stick to the classic selection from now on. Too much innovation/ over saturation of ingredients in drinks not necessary scream's quality or taste. I don't go out of my way to write a review of cafes often, but I think this spot needs to get a little spotlight so that people can find it! Trident Coffee is at the trailhead of a bicycle route that's well off the beaten path of Imperial Beach--already a beach town off most visitors' maps. But seek it out, and you'll be treated to the feeling that you've discovered an outpost on the edge of the world, where the indigenous cocktails are not alcohol-based, but get their spark from their own brand of nitro cold brew. The drink menu reads like something from a trendy ABV lounge and you may even catch the notes of bourbon from their brewing process. The Old Fashioned Cold Foam indeed feels like a rich Secret Breakfast-like hair of the dog you may need for a hangover, but the caffeinated punch will likely help you stand upright more effectively. Paige L is the barista mixologist you want, especially if you want to discuss the anime you binged last night. Which, really, is the reason you need her caffeine supercharge today to shake the Crunchyroll cobwebs out of your eyes. read more

I found this place right after COVID lockdowns started. By pure accident and luck I went for a run around the trail next to it. Since then I occasionally stop by for keto donuts (I stock up for a few weeks), lemon lavender poppy being my favorite. If you want strong coffee this is the place to go and I love that they have keto friendly add ons. My only disappointment is that I can never get my hand on the keto bagels lol. Service is always great, even when they get extremely busy right before closing. Hopefully during the spring/summer times you guys can have seasonal keto drinks. read more

Trident Coffee claims to have the best cold brew in America. I think they're right. And I don't even usually like cold brew! The place is quaint and filled with well thought out features to make the experience enjoyable. You can taste whatever coffee flavor you please! Here's what we tried; 1) Son of a son of a sailor ( without any sweetener tho) and 2) the captain something lol I forgot what it's called!! But it has cinnamon and oat milk. Also worth mentioning is, everything is served cold unless you request otherwise. I typically prefer hot coffee, however everything we tried was excellent even cold! I will definitely be back and also will be recommending it regularly! read more

I'm not a huge coffee drinker.. so it is rare when I visit a place that has me craving a second coffee the day after. Trident coffee still has me wanting a cold brew days after I paid them a visit. They have cold brew on tap! The Mexican mocha (with oat milk) stole my heart here! It is so good! It has hints of cinnamon and chocolate. Overall the taste was smooth - no awful coffee after-taste. The place is very open. A lot of cyclists meet up here. Dog friendly- dog treats at register. A great place to stop, grab a coffee, and walk/bike around the silver strand. read more

Cute, cozy coffee spot in Imperial Beach. Who knew this hidden gem was located a hop, skip, and a jump away from my usual haunts along Palm Ave? There is a small parking lot in front of the shop, as well as plenty of free street parking nearby. A friend and I tried this place out for the first time Sunday morning. Superb customer service from Jaryl, Mack, and Ricardo. Jaryl was very patient with us at the register, walking us through the menu and showcasing the unique variety of pastries they had to offer. To pair with our salted caramel cold brew and hazelnut latte w/oat milk, we tried the protein donuts (churro and maple pecan flavored--very tasty and moist!) and the raspberry crumble bar (plenty of flavor!), and I've got my eye on the keto empanadas to try next time. Prices were reasonable and as expected, which is refreshing. Our drinks were ready for us quite soon after ordering. There's a display of merch along one of the walls if you're interested, a cooler/fridge of canned and bottled beverages if you're on the go, and charming, beachy decor suitable for IB (Grogu's a plus lol). Plenty of seating indoors and some outdoors, with a serene view of the bay. Perfect place to enjoy a weekend morning. We'll definitely return!! read more

Been awhile since I stopped on here. It is hidden away in a business park at the very bottom end of the bay. Great views of the bay looking north to the Coronado Bay Bridge. If your riding along the bay trail, this a good place for a stop. I ordered a flight of: chuuro weather the storm ambrotos daily rations The churro was my favorite. Plenty of parking. Friendly staff. It reminds me of brewery tasting room but with cold brew instead of beer. If your new into cold brew, this is a good place to try different flavors. Wanted to leAve a review to trident and especially ayriana since her customer service was above and beyond. Ayriana was very attentive from the moment I walked in providing me her recommendation and others popular choice for coffee. It feels really good these days to find establishment with staff like her. She did not rush me even how indecisive of a person I am and was very knowledgeable of trident coffee. The vibe in this location is incredible. Perfect place to just get away n have a cup of coffee to reset. Also if you need a place to get some work done: this is a good spot! I love the design and feel of this place and the fact that they had the door open to their work room where you could see all of their special equipment for making nitro cold brew coffee. If you love coffee, more specifically if you love cold brew, this place is for you. So many types on tap, I'm sure there's one for you. They also carry protein donuts, which are great for sharing. It's on the bike path, so plenty of foot traffic. And a great destination on a run or on wheels. read more

The coffee here is incredible and the service is great. I love to come in here for a quick drink. Their stuff is really strong but has a quality flavor. This place is decorated really nicely and is really popular with the bike riders in the area. Trident Coffee is so unique. You step into their cool loading dock space and step on up to the counter. Basically Trident has about 10 or more cold brews. Some are bold, mild, flavored... they even have decaf. All are sugar free and brewed with natural ingredients. But here's what makes it so unique. You choose either hot or cold and if you choose cold, there's no ice! It's already super-chilled and perfect. I got the amazing Pumpkin Pie cold brew. My favorite and I wish they had it all year! We passed by the area to rent some bikes. Nice little coffee spot with an industrial aesthetic in the plaza near the walking/biking trails. Perfect to grab your cup of joe to keep you warm while walking. They offer a variety of savory or sweet pastries that are keto, vegan and/or gluten free. Meet the Business Owner: Eric J.

Serving as a Naval Officer, Eric Johnson started brewing his own cold brew coffee during his final tour of duty in Iraq. He noticed how coffee and tea act as a bridge between cultural differences. All of the chaos of conflict would pause between him and village elders for a brief moment while enjoying a nice cup of coffee or tea together. Two cultures born a world apart were communicating on so many levels without saying a word- that was it! Eric had found his calling and thus set out to create Trident Coffee Roasters.

It was so bad seeing that all the bread was exposed to the flying dust and particles as this store does not have clear doors where the bread is. I had to leave the bakery. I did make the lady aware and made the comment that she should not have been sweeping with the broom while the bread was exposed. She honestly didn't care, she was just "doing her job" I don't understand how can someone do something like that. If you want to start with closing procedures and want to sweep make sure your product is covered and not exposed to bacteria. I will not go back to this store, if they do this when customers are present, I cannot imagine what they'll do when no one is watching.

What an amazing find! So first things first this is their brewery and Roaster location. They specialize in nitro cold brew which has become my favorite way to drink coffee. If you're a Expresso coffee drinker who adds a ton of milk and sugar this may not be the place for you. But that's ok just walk 50 feet in any direction till you hit the coffee shop with a green sign. For me I actually like the taste of coffee and drink it black most times. One thing I've noticed is with cold brew is more favors of the coffees come through, it's less acidic and has more caffeine then drip coffee. They have over a dozen different coffees from all around the world with different roast profiles. Just love what they're doing here, plus it's a family owned and operated. They're directly sourcing their green coffees, roasting in house (love that) so many coffee shops I end up at get their beans roasted by a third party or some off sight location. The staff was super friendly and helpful. I ordered their flight option where I got to pick any four. Had an organic Ethiopian which was a light roast, it had this amazingly great blueberry taste. A dark roast Peruvian great flavor. Ambrotos which was a medium roast Brazilian with MCT oil was super creamy and smooth. Lastly I had their Mexican Chiapas, medium roast brewed with chocolate cocoa powder, cinnamon and orange peel was also a new favorite. As for the location it's self well it's really cool and and the view and walk around bike way village was beautiful. I haven't been to the PB spot yet, but I have zero doubt it matches the same great quality (because the others are so good). I discovered Trident Coffee while riding on the Bayshore Bikeway, and I am blown away by the quality of their beans and the deliciousness of their cold brew coffee. I highly recommend the "Son of a Son of a Sailor" (SSS) cold brew; it is truly exceptional. The flavor is bold and complex, with a smooth finish that leaves you wanting more. In addition to the delicious coffee, the service is top-notch. Jaryl, who helped me with my order, was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Maybe I didn't order the right thing, or maybe it was just an off day, but I probably wouldn't order that drink again. The picture looks promising but just not it. I actually brought one home for my husband to try as well, and without me even saying anything, he wasn't a fan of it either. I also have to say that when I first walked into the location, I didn't really feel a warm or welcoming vibe. I was hoping to have a better first experience, but unfortunately, between the drink and the overall experience, I don't think I'll be back. Maybe I just need to try something different, but for now, this one just wasn't a hit for us.
