The girl in the window rudely was more concerned about getting me out of there. This location has seriously gone through unfortunate change in service and quality of beverages. The hot chai tea latte tasted like boiled hot water with no flavor. I was going to request for a remake but the gentlemen employee posted in my photo had a very sarcastic personality "well the drink is made with hot water" with no sense of care to make the situation right. After giving up on the Dennery (Palm Promenade) Starbucks, I decided to give this one a try. Starbucks reeled me in with a bonus star offer: visit two days in a row, earn bonus stars. I went to this Starbucks yesterday to pick up my mobile order. Drink was ready in a timely manner. It tasted great and the barista that gave it to me was friendly with a greeting and offering a straw (they are kept behind the counter and are available upon request only). Today I also walked in to pick up my mobile order. I was waiting across the counter leaning on the high table and noticed several drinks (about 8-10) none looked like mine. After a few minutes, a barista asked if I was waiting for a mobile order and my name. I said yes and she found my drink, but it was missing whipped cream. I honestly would've been fine if they had just added the whipped cream, but she said she would remake it because the affogato shot had already blended into the drink. She quickly made my new drink and even offered to let me have the other one, but I didn't want it. She was so friendly and demonstrated going above and beyond for customer service. Place is large indoors with lots of varied seating available including tables, bar-height tables, long padded benches and individual comfy chairs. Visiting from Las Vegas, this Starbucks was near our campground. Very friendly service, the staff greets you when you walk in. I ordered a venti caramel cappuccino, non fat milk and it's delicious. Coffee may not be a big deal to some but for me it is. They made the perfect Starbucks cappuccino. Can't give it a 5 star because it was messy by the pick up station and on the floor too. read more

Came by for a quick drink tru the drive tru, not as busy as usual, altho they were taking a few more minutes to hand out the drinks. Got up to pay and Natalia was the cashier. She was so sweet & nice taking my payment asking how my day was and so forth. It really does make a difference when someone ask how your day is. She seemed so happy working there no complaints from her saying sorry that the drinks were taking a few minutes to be made, which she made up for by having a conversation about work and how both are days have been. Extremely satisfied of her customer service and a positive attitude working there. Recommend coming here to anyone who wants to have such an experience. Warning, this location always has a bit of a long wait. It's the only Starbucks in San Ysidro with a drive through, so makes sense. I will be knocking a star off for the wait time. Although it's easy to avoid the wait by ordering ahead in the app, so I'm not really bothered by the wait. I'm rating this locating 4 stars because mine and my boyfriend's drinks have always been great. I am also extremely impressed by the customer service here. I have yet to have a bad experience at any time of day. Some of my best experiences have been on Monday mornings.. much needed. I do prefer to support small cafes instead of Starbucks, but I know I can count on this location to meet my coffee needs when necessary. read more

This Starbucks store is the worst one I have encountered. Is it so hard to turn off mobile ordering if you close your doors 1.5 hours before you close??? If someone places a mobile order 9 times out of 10 it's because we don't want to wait in the ridiculous drive through lane for the items. We place the order, arrive and the doors are locked. You call, they tell you to drive through the drive through lane which is usually at least a 15/20 min wait for your coffee to get cold. So absurd! read more

I am paying for a 6 dollar coffee. And it takes like horrible. Mostly water with coffee. And the customer service is not the best. They are more concentrated on making the drinks fast that they are not paying attention to the flavors. Either they put too much or too much milk. And not enough coffee. This location used to be my all-time favorite. I started going here in October before the pandemic started. Service was always spot on, people were exceedingly friendly, the lines were quick and the staff was extremely polite and kind. Fast forward to the past few months, I understand that sometimes places become understaffed at times so I continue to be patient but I can no longer tolerate the attitude of certain baristas. On one occasion I was knocking at the door because it was locked, it was before 6 AM but on other occasions I as well as other customers had been inside the store ordering our drinks before that time. The barista on multiple occasions looked me in the eye and didn't say anything from behind the espresso machine. A simple nod "no" would have been great and I would have understood as to the fact that they were not going to open the door until after certain time. It wasn't until the third time where I knocked louder that one of them signals and said that she would open the door at six. That would've been great if they would've done it the first time, but they didn't. I didn't go back for at least a few weeks after that. Thinking that perhaps I was overreacting I went back sometime later, only to be met with less than enthusiastic service. There's a particular barista with green hair who could use a major attitude adjustment. I get it, it's early and you're tired, but your attitude doesn't help the situation for yourself or for your customers. The store manager has always been kind but I haven't seen him around the last few times I've been there. Service has been so dismal that I've had to call Starbucks corporate. I really hope the store can get its act together because it's so conveniently located right off of the freeway exit. I'm sad I had to leave this review. read more
