I had shoulder surgery two months ago. After reading all the great reviews of Tried and True I decided to give them a shot. Right out of the gate the team did a great job scheduling me in and helping me recover. Also helped work all details through my insurance which was a relief. Look no further for a physical therapist and team who care, not only about your precise injury, but about your entire body. Read on, but know this will be a lengthy, yet worthwhile read. But if you choose to skip over everything below (I recommend you don't and just keep reading) then just know that I HIGHLY recommend Adam. I have been suffering with plantar fasciitis for over 5 months. The pain in my foot was unbearable, at times so excruciating that I had to crawl on all fours just to get around. As a very active individual, you could imagine that not being able to even walk was disheartening. I leave tomorrow for a 4 month training event that will be nothing short of extremely physical. I thought I was doomed and that everything I've worked so hard for in life was crashing to an end...that my foot injury was going to wipe away my dreams and ruin my career aspirations. I tried nearly everything to rid myself of the pain: rolling on a lacrosse ball, worked with two different specialty doctors, saw a physical therapist (not Adam) for months, stretched like crazy (please don't do this), iced (also don't do this for too long), applied heat, soaked in Epsom salt baths, etc. A couple of weeks ago I was referred to Adam, who I can now refer to as Physical Therapist Genius (PTG). He didn't seem thrown off when I said I have a debilitating injury and he only has two weeks to work with me before I take off for four months to pursue my dream. "PTG" (Adam) immediately got to work in locating the pain in my foot and the surrounding areas. He taught me about the importance of NOT holding stretches for too long and to focus more on an active recovery and stretch. He gave me exercises to do outside of his care and taught me about injury prevention. He recorded me doing each exercise while he was explaining them so I can review the video on my own time in case I forgot the exercises. However, Adam wasn't solely focused on the pain in my foot. He recorded me running on the treadmill and broke down my running gait, stride, cadence, etc. He cared about my running style because he wanted to be sure I minimized the chances of the plantar fasciitis returning. He also reviewed my recorded running stats and became concerned with my heart rate and has been monitoring that for me. Adam is not a "fix the one spot and move on" type of physical therapist. He believes in complete body therapy, as all therapist should but don't. The ENTIRE BODY needs to be treated for healing, pain management, and injury prevention. Adam's knowledge base is so wide, allowing him to really understand and believe in this concept. After only two weeks, Adam has gotten my pain to a point to where I know I'll be okay over the next four months of physical training. I wish I would have started seeing him early on because I wouldn't have suffered so unnecessarily with this pain for all these months. Although this post mostly covers Adam "PTG", I can't leave out the rest of his team. Marissa, Siba, Gwen...thank you from the bottom of my heart for being so welcoming. I felt like you were opening the doors to your own home every single time I walked in. Your conversations and help with my treatments did not go unnoticed. I appreciate each of you in your own ways and even if I don't need future treatments, I certainly plan to come back in when I return...if nothing more than to chat and be called beautiful one more time!! You guys have endearing hearts, filled nothing more than with gold. Adam is super knowledgeable and he takes the time to understand my injuries, limitations and goals before providing me with a course of action. I love his non traditional approach that focuses on movement as the way to get back to doing what I love - CrossFit. He's helped me out tremendously over the years with various injuries. Adam was very involved with helping me with my back issues. I saw him every week for a few weeks and we worked on the exercises from previous weeks as well as new ones. He introduced simple concepts to me that blew my mind when it came to your body and injury. Its been about 6 weeks since my first visit and have reaped many benefits from PT. I have increased mobility in my lower back, better posture, and less pain. Also I have to mention the Physical Therapy Assistants at the front desk are very fun to talk with. Adam is a genius. After dealing with back pain for months Adam figured out what was going on and put me on the path to healing. After his evaluation he suggested some things to do which resulted in an immediate improvement. What sets him apart as far as I'm concerned is that he's teaching me how to handle flare ups and what to do to address them when they happen. I like that he explains what's he's doing and why. He works with you for the entire appointment instead of handing you off to an assistant. He video taped how to do exercises on my phone so I can refer back to it when I do them at home. If you want to get better, go to Adam. You won't be sorry. read more

I found Adam after I fired my first PT. I had surgery on my wrist and needed a PT that would get me back to my sport as soon as possible. Adam is up to date on all of the current research for rehab and doesn't employ archaic practices such as e-stim or ice. He truly cares about his patients. read more

If you want a ghetto attitude with your therapy by all means go here...this group of unprofessional "professionals" made me want to walk out. Tried and True Physio is the BEST Physical Therapy I have found out of many. My Podiatrist sent me to Tried and True Physio for Physical Therapy for numbness and tingling in my right foot. She said that many of the Physical Therapists are "cookie cutter" and don't devote 100% personal attention to the clients. I am pleased to say that Tried and True Physio has devoted 100% personal attention to me over the past 2 months. I have been working with Adam and after his careful evaluation of my problem and history he started a new approach of low intensity exercises that I can easily perform at home or on travel. He relieved much of my stress by providing positive lifestyle counseling during our PT sessions and on what to focus on in my exercise routines. I am seeing good results in flexibility, balance and pain relief and the numbness in my foot has started to improve. All of the people at Tried and True Physio are caring, courteous and professional and I highly recommend them if you want 100% personal attention and the best results. In my opinion Its worth any travel and very convenient to the freeway exit. read more

I have been to El Cajon Therapy Associates for years... I have had my knee rehab completed there after complete ACL reconstruction and I have also had my Elbow rehab after dislocation. I have always enjoyed going to PT with Dan and all the staff. They have always been extremely punctual with appointment times. Every time I complete my PT treatment plan, I feel that the results from the work ECTA has completed is amazing. My knee is fully recovered and better than my non-surgery knee! My elbow is normal! I was referred here by the VA Choice program to help overcome damages done to my hand by The Balance Center. The staff was not only efficient & professional but exceptionally friendly! I can't say enough about Nancy. She really helped improve my condition, (as much as possible) not only through physical treatment, but with various suggestions as to what I could do on my own. The therapist is rude and the office smells like dog and mold. The staff is very nice. The owner is so rude always yelling at the staff in front of patients. I was referred to them by the specialist for my hand and it was a bad experience. The therapist wiped her nose and then massaged me. It was such a bad experience I even tried to go back but couldn't. I really had a good experience with the front staff and complained. I found out later why nothing was done because she was the owner. read more
