I am also realistic, that things can happen in an environment in which there are many people to be cared for with too few staff. My loved one was evaluated by OT and PT, physician and LVN none of which knew he had very poor eyesight until after I divulged that information, which makes a big difference in a skilled assessments. They also were not aware of his baseline before his hospitalization, which was fully independent. This Made me question chart review, and how much information was passed on to the facility from Kaiser hospital. Unfortunately, he fell that night after being provided medication that made him confused even after we had discussed it. If I had a loved one, that was there, I would be questioning what type of monitoring is taking place after medication's are administered, have they reviewed the medical history and discuss the goals, intermediate and long term to be sure everyone is in a realistic and shared place. This fall could have been avoided and is not looked on as positive for any facility but reality is it can happen. What they do to prevent these events is important. Medication, monitoring and be present for your loved one.

But it was worth a try because my daughter wasn't talking at all and what we were doing wasn't working. My daughter went from not talking at all to saying 50+ words in one month! When I reached out, I was so overwhelmed and lost because all my daughter would do was scream to communicate. I can now say that with the help of RL Therapy and our AMAZING speech therapist Maura, our daughter is communicating and seems so happy that we understand her. I also love that they use Theratrak to help upload videos so that we can get extra help outside of our video chats. They have given us so many different things to try and I can't thank Maura enough.

My son has other therapists for other things but Dania is our absolute favorite! She really goes above and beyond for our family. She really takes the time to observe my son and understand what he's comfortable with and every single session she brings a new idea or a new device to try with my son that will allow him to push out of his comfort zone and try to do things he doesn't normally do. My son had a very hard time with eating, and forced himself to throw up whenever he ate a texture he didn't like. Dania observed even the smallest details and every session brought something new to try and everything has helped so much! It's been a few months now that he hasn't really thrown up while eating, and he used to throw up at almost every meal! Not just that, but she just has the most amazing personality and my son is obsessed with her! It's really hard for him to feel comfortable with people but she makes it so easy and he loves his sessions with her! We are so thankful to RL Therapy for sending us Dania and changing our lives!!

The Neurosurgeon wanted to do more surgery to try and relive the symptoms. A nerve conductive study gave a diagnosis of Carpal Tunnel. I asked for a referral to PT before considering another surgery. After 5 visits, I was elated to find I was getting sensation back in my fingers. This was HUGE!!. After more than a year I finally got sensation back, without surgery. Pablo's approach was phenomenal. We continued to work for a total of 16 visits. Now I have 75-80% feeling and tactile sensation back. We find them through an approved list from our insurance carrier, Kaiser. The office is clean, & check in process was some of the smoothest I have ever experienced. No shoes are allowed once you cross out of the waiting room. The front desk ladies are friendly & really got to know my son in such a short amount of time. They always knew he wanted to show them whatever toy he brought for the day & there was always a sticker he enjoyed getting they'd let him pick out. Payments were automatic and I never had any issues there. Within one session with both ladies, we were able to get him using words we knew he had in there-they just helped him bring them to life. My son & I were both bummed when we ended services due to him starting preschool & getting the services while there. Emily really grew on him. He would absolutely light up seeing both ladies. My son, his attitude, behavior, and speech all elevated by coming to Milestone. The absolute patience the staff has is incredible. My son had a couple sessions of occupational therapy and we absolutely loved our therapist as well. I felt included in each of his sessions with all the ladies & there was something we worked on each week to improve the next. My son went from saying a handful of words to now speaking sentences. We game together and he fully understands that we need to take turns. Started off as a super worried mama, and left confident that we would be more than okay. Thank you, thank you, thank you again to Milestone. LOTS of parking & super easy to find. Delicious cafe not far from the entrance!

I waited about 3 weeks for the clinic to contact me after our pediatrician put in a referral to see PT for my childs torticolis. When I did not hear back I called the office, the first lady said she could not find any referrals then I spoke to a second person that said the paper work sent over was incorrect. I told her since this is a time sensitive issue to go ahead and put me in as a private pay so at least we can start the evaluation and make future appts if needed. Made an appt for an evaluation, only to be called by another personnel to cancel the appt because they are not able to figure out if they are contracted with my insurance. I told them I would still want to come in for the evaluation since its already been over a month and I would pay as private pay until insurance is sorted out. I ended up seeing Miss Paige and Miss Hannah. Both are great PTs and did help improving omy childs torticolis. I ended up using 6 or 7 appointments, 3 months had passed and each time they wanted to cancel my appt because they couldnt figure out insurance coverage. Long story short I finally had to email all the claims and what my insurance had cover and my copays that I had paid for them to finally realize what was happening. Insurance companies suck I get it. I deal with them on a daily basis at my job. But not having trained personnel to deal with the insurance complexities is not acceptable in the health care industry.

As the parent of a child with Autism, I have been there. After years of concern, I began to lose hope that my son would ever expand his extremely limited diet. Now don't get me wrong--I was grateful he would eat buttered noodles and French fries, but knew we had to find a way to give him the foundation for healthier eating and better nutrition. Our family has trusted Therapy South,PC for physical, occupational, and speech therapy for years, so when we learned they also offered pediatric feeding therapy, we knew we were in good hands. We were quickly matched with Theresa Seremet, and she exceeded every expectation. Theresa is not only a highly trained expert, but she took the time to understand my son's sensory needs, comfort level, and personality. Together, we created a plan that was personalized, realistic, and completely free of judgment. Using creativity, play, and the Steps to Eating approach, Theresa has helped our son build curiosity and confidence with new foods at a pace that feels safe. Every session reduced anxiety, celebrated small victories, and created lasting progress. Rather than forcing change, she helped me better understand my son's feeding challenges and gave our family the skills to support him at home. The results have been beyond anything we imagined. Our son's willingness to interact with and try new foods has grown tremendously, both in therapy and at home. Mealtimes are no longer filled with the stress and frustration they once were, and Theresa has equipped us with practical strategies that have made us active partners in his success. One of the things that makes this program so special is that Theresa has built and supervises an outstanding team of feeding therapists who share her expertise, compassion, and child-centered approach. You can rest assured that if Theresa isn't available, the other clinicians are equally committed to providing the same high-quality, evidence-based care. We are incredibly grateful for everything Theresa and the Therapy South feeding team has done for our family. They have truly changed the trajectory of our son's feeding journey, and we wholeheartedly recommend them to any family seeking exceptional pediatric feeding therapy.
