Hands down, this was the best Cuban sandwich I've ever had. The bread was perfectly toasted on the outside while staying soft on the inside. The meat tasted fresh, flavorful, and well-seasoned. It was a little greasy, but in the best way possible--it was absolutely delicious. My husband ordered the same sandwich and agreed that it's the best Cuban we've had so far. I also tried a non-alcoholic mango daiquiri, which was refreshing and full of flavor. The plantains were another standout and the best I've had in the city to date. This is definitely a place I'd return to for the Cuban sandwich alone. Everything I saw being served to other tables looked incredible as well. If you're visiting Little Havana, I highly recommend stopping by and giving this place a try. It's a spot that lives up to the hype. I wish we had this place is Phoenix. I'm going to miss it.

Just how a perfect fry should taste! Everyone really liked the vaca frita! I think that's a must try! It's shredded beef marinated in this delicious citrus marinate. Our server, Diego, was incredibly attentive and really went above and beyond. At times it almost felt like he was trying too hard to make sure we were happy, but honestly, we appreciated the effort! We started with the empanadas and the avocado salad with chicken. The chicken on the salad was disappointing. It had the texture and appearance of previously frozen/reheated chicken rather than the freshly grilled chicken we were expecting. For our entrées, we tried both the steak and a chicken dish. Unfortunately, neither worked for us. Both lacked the flavor we were expecting and instead seemed to rely heavily on salt. We ended up not finishing either dish. The cocktails didn't save the evening either. I started with a lychee martini, which wasn't as good as I had hoped, followed by a Mai Tai that also could have been better. I also saw my drink being taste-tested twice at the bar before it was brought over, which admittedly left me a little unsure about drinking it afterward. And then... THE FLAN! Finally, something I can rave about. They make a VERY good flan, and it was easily the highlight of our dinner. That's all I'll say! :) Overall, the ambiance was great, the music was fun, Diego worked hard to make sure we were taken care of, and the flan was excellent. Unfortunately, when it came to the actual entrées and cocktails, the experience just didn't deliver for us. There are too many Cuban restaurants around to explore, so we'll be trying others rather than returning to this one.

About three weeks ago Hialeah changed. Driving down 49th street you might not notice it. But it's different. It's better because Trigo opened up. Cafeteria and sandwich shop, its a slice of Wynwood brought down into Hialeah, and its about time. For me, Hialeah is that stretch of 49th street that has been taken over by all those corporate, sterile, cookie-cutter, average, chain restaraunts. You know the ones, everything Darden has to offer. At about 8th avenue and on this stretch of 49th street you will find Trigo and it is nothing like those places. Its new. Not new as in they implanted the building to appear new, its new in that it provides something Hialeah does not have a lot of yet. It is a modern spin on an old classic, tucked away in a bulding thats been there forever. Trigo is a re-interpretation of Hialeah itself. Its a family-run business at the moment and they were all very friendly on my visit. I had the yuca fries with cilantro sauce, the latter of which they make themselves, they were wonderful! Got the Fried Chick. I will be back for another. Go check out what Hialeah was blessed with those three weeks ago. They don't have a street sign yet but theyre logo is also wondeful. read more

The place feels very homey it's small but big enough for a coffee shop. The owner is very hands-on with all the guests and very nice! the place is very clean and the food is very good ! everything we got was delicious, we have no complains about the food the price of this service. everything's was $30 which was - cortadito coffee - (2) bon bon coffees - 3 croquetas - elena ruth sandwich - turkey sandwich - (2) crossaints very fairly priced ! the only thing i would suggest is maybe adding something like chips to the sandwiches not a lot but a few to compliment the sandwich, other than that this place is amazing ! nice and quiet low key and i heard their brunch on sundays are to die for, we went to valentine's day lunch and really enjoyed ourselves will be back soon for brunch! thank you so much trigo we loved it ! #HIALEAH read more

Stopped here for quick breakfast take out. Put in my order for an avocado egg toast, 2 croquetas and a café con leche.. and waited and waited AND waited while two men that got there after me were attended and served immediately. After about 15-20 minutes of waiting, I was finally given my takeout order. It was my first time here, my sister usually raves about the food at this place so I wanted to give it a try. The avocado toast was not a traditional one as it had a lot of arugula and I did not expect that. The croquetas were delicious and the cafe con leche was okay. Overall, I didn't feel valued as a customer at all and don't think I will be coming back to this place. What a shame because I can tell it has potential but owners need to pay some attention to their employees customer service. read more
