So I called to book an appointment for this week on Monday. They told me Thursday (today) 5pm. I'm thinking okay great. I glanced at the confirmation email today to see the directions for where they are located as its in a tricky spot. I rush over there during rush hour after another appointment runs late, and walk in at 5:10. Tell them I have an appointment. Much to my surprise it wasn't for a few weeks later when I clearly stated on the phone this week - I wouldn't of booked the appointment otherwise as I wanted it trimmed for this weekend. The woman who answered my phone call earlier this week said "okay see you Thursday". The woman at the desk tried to help me tonight and said the stylist who was supposed to cut my hair had left, and the other stylist would be available in 30 minutes, I couldn't wait that long. My last option was to see the owner who is more expensive. As an individual on a budget I knew I couldn't do that. The right thing to do would of been to offer me a hair cut by the owner at the rate of the other stylist. I'm so bummed because I thought maybe I'd finally find a salon after living in LA for a year and a half and a bad haircut. Apparently not. I'm not going to have my hair done by a salon who can't tell me the right date, I understand human error happens what I don't understand is how it was handled. I'm sure they are great stylists but if you have a potential new client there for their first cut and your team messed up, you should be bending over backwards to make it right. read more

Dani did an amazing job; I asked her to keep the long length as is and add some layers, and she expertly gave me the perfect Rock Star cut! I've been going to Frida for years! She always really listens to what I want but I really trust her guidance too. I finally did balayage and I'm obsessed w/ my new highlights. They are warm and natural looking. While they're subtle I've gotten SO many compliments on them. See photos posted on 4/28. Everyone else is right. Dani is a genius. I've had her cut my hair once, and had a cut and color once. Both times I've been extremely happy with the result. I also love the decor of the place, and it's in a great neighborhood! The only reason she doesn't get 5 stars from me is that for my second appointment, Dani was incredibly rushed. You could tell she was over-booked. She had someone else do my color once she started, and then blowdry my hair when she finished the cut. I can't tell you how happy I am that I found Trim. While looking for a new stylist, I read many yelp reviews and tried to ask around. I was a little nervous going to a new place, but booked an appointment for a hair cut with Allison. First off, the place is so cute. Its not a big salon, so it gives you a homey feeling. The receptionist is very friendly attentive. Allison took my hair from bad to good in 30 min! I had come in with extensions that just needed to be shaped and blended. The cut is so good that not even my mom realized I had the extensions in anymore. I also spoke with Dani about changing my method of extensions. I watched her do another client's while I was in, and she is fast! Not only fast, but excellent. She does not over charge, even though she is clearly skilled. I've lived in LA for five years and have had a really tough time finding a place to get my hair done that I trust. Now that I've visited Trim a salon I finally found my spot! I booked with Nadirah after seeing my best friend's hair and how awesome it was. Nadirah knocked it out of the park! I wanted a blonde, summery balayage and she totally nailed it. I don't know the exact product name but whatever the bleach she used is called was really amazing and didn't seem overly harsh. I am OBSESSED with my color. And the cut was also amazing. The salon itself is so cute and full of natural light. All of the women, employees and customers, were so friendly and nice. It was just a great environment. I can't say enough great things about Freida! I had been going to the same hairdresser for years and was terrified about trying someone new... As I am extremely picky about my hair. It needs to be cut an exact perfect way or it's just a mess! I wouldn't normally come here to write a review on Frida's haircuts, because it wasn't a horrible haircut at all....just way way shorter than I asked for, and I took a picture with me so she could see exactly what I wanted. She even told the friend that I had with me that my hair would be just a bit LONGER than the picture...nope, that was a lie, and it took me a whole year to grow my hair out to where I wanted it...when I left I couldn't even get a piece of hair down on my neck because it was so short. VERY disappointed, but after she completely ruined my daughter's hair I decided to come on here and write my own review. So, what to learn from this experience? NEVER go to Frida for color, and if you go for a haircut make sure to keep a close eye on those flying razors....because once it's gone, it's gone!! read more

I flew in from Montreal and needed a stylist for highlights and brow tint and Freida did such a great job on my hair. She got rid of the gold, gave me a gorgeous cut, actually put an ash toner in my hair (I have a hard time getting stylists to do this for some reason). Nareh works with passion, something many stylists lack, & has a sincere talent for what she does! I have really dark black hair and I rarely trust anyone with my hair let alone to go lighter!! I wanted a pearl blonde/silver fox kind of hair color with balayage ombré not starting from my roots. She let me know that it will take 2-4 processes to go lighter in order to prevent damage to my hair, which is the best way to go. She can definitely blend with ways, and has a great technique and flow to her coloring. The staff is super nice and helpful, and willing to provide advice when needed. Dany(the owner) told me exactly what the pro and cons were about the products I've been using & what to actually use. Nadirah is a hair genius! I am a hairdresser and have been cutting my own hair for years, even hairdressers get bad haircuts and I had a enough to make me lose faith in entrusting my hair to another. However.. I met Nadirah a few years ago and her work is always just so perfectly pristine and gorgeous. I finally bit the bullet and had her cut my hair. She did exactly what I asked and it was even better than I expected, and now I'm hooked on her talented hands.
