Service was welcoming, the space is nice, restrooms are two separate ones for all genders. Other guests that sat near us were friendly as well which made for an all-around pleasant experience. The front desk was dismissive, no one offered to help with luggage despite the stairs leading to reception, and the elevator and hallways were extremely hot. When I mentioned the heat, the manager simply shrugged and explained that none of their locations have A/C in those areas. The hotel itself is extremely dated. Our room was standard-sized, felt small for California, and was overpriced for the quality and experience. The food was decent--the burger was pretty good and the sashimi was fresh. The restaurant wait staff were actually the saving grace: friendly, attentive and hospitable. Overall, Soho House seems to rely heavily on its name and exclusivity rather than delivering an elevated experience. There are better private clubs with better service, better facilities and far less attitude. Two stars. The restaurant staff earned the second one.
