Whoa!! The staff was amazing with my large group of 8. Rachel, in particular, was hands down one of the best waitresses I've met! She was thorough with explaining our options, extremely patient, knowledgeable & friendly. We all gathered for the brunch and they give you so many great options. In my opinion, the food was great quality and tasted amazing. I can tell they care about plating and presentation. I honey toast and it was DELICIOUS! They have Caesar salad and margarita pizza that is also pretty good. The restaurant is decorated beautifully for autumn and is larger than it looks from the outside. I want to shout out the DJ for the awesome playlist! I was dancing in my seat the whole time lol.
Came back from more espresso martinis and they are still soooo good. It's like having a dessert, coffee and cocktail all in one with the Buona Notte. Need to come back for dinner or brunch. Or both. It's so pretty in here.
I enjoyed one more happy hour and one more early dinner before they closed for good. During the HH, I had the truffle french fries and the pepperoni pizza. Fries were good this time, but I would go without the pizza in the future. On their final opening night I arrived too early; forgetting that dinner didn't start for an hour so I had the fries (again) while waiting for dinner. Thankfully, the order was put in a little earlier and I was able to enjoy the Penne alla Vodka. I was on the fence about the 20-Layer Cake but I ended up caving in, getting it to go for later. Unlike the first time I got this, they now had a perfect, custom box for the slice to fit whereas before they had to cut the cake in half to fit it into the box they had at the time. I know the New York location has delivery/to-go only, but there is still the Las Vegas one. Sad to see this place close down, as the location seems to be a curse for so many places (Hamburger Hamlet, Rivabella, Roku, now Lavo...).
We enjoyed our evening so much and parking was easy, which is rare for LA. Service was awesome, food was amazing, and drinks were delicious! The interior decor was IG worthy- in fact I first found this place via social media posts- very beautiful ambiance. BTW, the cost for a party of 3 was $250.00, which is reasonable considering we got drinks, appetizers, entrees and dessert. I really hope it has not closed...
During my foodie relatives' Thanksgiving week visit to Honolulu, we were discussing making restaurant reservations for our upcoming Christmas/New Year visit to Los Angeles. However, after we raved about our multiple dining experiences at LAVO Las Vegas, we were surprised to learn that none of our relatives had ever dined at the restaurant's Los Angeles location. So, when the opportunity arose, I made an after-Christmas dinner reservation through OpenTable and excitedly waited. We knew exactly where LAVO Los Angeles was located, as we had frequently driven past the Sunset Medical Tower on Sunset Boulevard and had eaten at the same restaurant space before it changed hands several times over the past decade or so. They offer valet service, which only accepts credit card payments, and because of the restaurant's location, you might as well use the service, because you'd be hard-pressed to find street parking. Our group of six arrived at the restaurant about 30 minutes before our reservation and were greeted by a friendly hostess who asked whether we were ready to be seated or preferred to wait in the bar. We chose to be seated, and she escorted us into the quiet, warm, yet festively decorated dining room. The busser approached us, took our water service request, and informed us about who our server would be. Our server, Addison, came to our table while the busser refilled our water glasses and offered assorted citrus slices to flavor them. After my brother-in-law showed Addison the magnum of wine he brought and asked if the sommelier could uncork the bottle, since it was not only a 2006 vintage but also had a long, possibly fragile cork, even though they kept the bottle in their personal wine storage. Unfortunately, they didn't have a sommelier on duty, and Addison informed us of the restaurant's impending end-of-year closure and confidently said she could uncork it with her trusty corkscrew. However, my brother-in-law decided to give it the "ol' college try" and successfully uncorked the bottle. FOOD: -Fritto Misto: a platter of lightly battered and fried zucchini, shrimp, calamari, and vinegary peppers with marinara was delivered to our table and was quickly shared and devoured. Everyone felt the fritto misto was light, delicious, and perfectly cooked. $28 -The Meatball: We've often seen this appetizer ordered at the Las Vegas site, but we never ordered it because we felt it was too much food to share between us. However, now that we had our family surrounding us, we ordered it. The 16-oz meatball is made with fresh-ground imperial Wagyu, Italian sausage, and veal. It is served with whipped ricotta and marinara. We shared the tender, toothsome meatball among us and sopped up the sauce with garlic bread. $34 -Semolina Sesame Garlic Bread: Addison highly recommended this garlic bread to pair with The Meatball and sipping on our Cabernet blend wine. The lightly grilled-toasted loaf was served with three dipping sauces (marinara, basil pesto, & Gorgonzola dolce). $18 -Zitoni Genovese: braised short rib, sweet onions, pecorino Romano. I received a generous portion of Neapolitan or Sicilian zitoni pasta (larger ziti tubes) and an intensely flavorful, tomato-wine-based, fall-apart tender, slow-braised short ribs ragù. This comfort-food pasta dish was so rich and filling that I could barely eat half the portion and ended up bringing home leftovers. $33 -Faroe Island Salmon Oreganato: My husband cut into the salmon filet, which had a light crisp coating of breadcrumbs and revealed the fillet's tender medium-rare doneness. The rich, buttery-tasting salmon filet sat atop a melange of sautéed vegetables and was dressed with a lemon, white wine, and garlic butter sauce. My husband jokingly said he could feel his heart health improving with each bite. $39 The rest of my family ordered their own entrees, and when we were nearly finished with our meals, we decided to share a dessert. We ordered the luscious 20 Layer Chocolate Cake ($29), and each of us commented on the "decadence" of chocolate, peanut butter, and mascarpone. During our dining experience, Addison informed us that LAVO Los Angeles would sadly be closing at the end of the year. We were happy to have supported this restaurant, and it was great to see so many others show their support during the Holidays.
It was my first time here and the ambiance was so nice! It is a little dark but it set the vibe. Karissa was amazing! She made sure she gave us time to think about what we want and was really patient with us. I am huge on customer service and she did not disappoint! Everything we ordered was 10/10! I would defiantly come back!
Went here for a weeknight happy hour and we loved it and are so sad to see it should be closed as of now. The happy hour prices for the quality of food were killer. We loved the calamari and pizzette, and the truffle fries were good as well. I really enjoyed the martini flight, though I felt it could've been a little less sweet. The sparkling wine was also great. The restaurant is beautiful and a great spot for a weho date night. Street parking is hard to find but we luckily came on a weeknight and were eventually able to find some. Service was great and attentive. Wish we could come back!
Grilled octopus - 4/5 Tuna tartare - 4/5 Mushroom ravioli - 4/5 Tagliatelle - 3/5 Beet salad - 3/5 Penne - 3/5 Dover sole - 3/5 Grilled artichoke - 2/5 bitter Veal - 2/5 sweet ? Overall, nothing was truly outstanding. Most dishes felt underwhelming. I did enjoy the ambiance, and the service was good , but that's about it.
I love the vibe at Lavo. It's Intimate, beautiful and covered in flowers. Rosie was an amazing waitress. She was polite, had good energy and was attentive. We ordered the tuna tartare, Caesar salad, and Margherita pizza to start. The Caesar was one of the best I've ever had. It was fresh with delicious house-made croutons. For entrées, we had the Faroe Island Salmon Oreganato and the Zitoni Genovese. The salmon was juicy with a perfect breadcrumb topping, and the zitoni was rich with well-seasoned short rib. We ended with cheesecake, drinks and coffee at the bar with Jessie. Jessie had great conversation and the best drink recommendations. The cheesecake's crispy top was pure bliss. Everything was fantastic.
You probably came for the brunch review! I went with 3 friends and we had a time! The food was great quality and you can try a variety of items. I highly recommend dabbling in the all you can drink options. We did the bloody Marty and it was so good! Our waiter was really good about keeping an eye on our food and drinks to make sure we had everything we needed. The food standouts were the tuna tartare, oysters, meatball, and french toast! The portions are on the bigger side - I wish they were slightly smaller because it is easy to get full quickly. I wanted to love the deviled eggs so bad but they needed a little more flavor. The salmon crisp was also not what I had expected -- it seemed a little overcooked and I was expecting more of a ceviche situation. I would absolutely go back for brunch and I think it's the best time with a group of friends!
Lavolini's Sweet Martini was fantastic, and the Yellowfin Tuna Tartare was hands down the best thing we tried--I would come back just for this dish. The Wagyu Beef Carpaccio was solid, and the Caesar della Casa was a fresh, satisfying salad. The Black Truffle Pizza was good, though I think one of the other pizzas might have been even better. The Penne alla Vodka was absolutely delicious, and the other white-sauce pasta was okay, though the portion was on the small side. Beyond the food, the ambiance is lovely, the bread was excellent, and it made for such a cute and cozy dinner date with the gals.
Came here for my mom's 82nd birthday... Oh my goodness! You walk in greeted by a lovely server. So calm. So demure. Then you walk over to the bar and have an amazing Martini ( or any drink of your choosing) until they come and get you and seat you!!! The "water fella" needs some personality. Nevertheless the overall experience is fabulous. The music is phenomenal. The music is Out. Of. Site!. Live DJ!!! The food is so freaking delicious...the decor is so au natural beauty. We had the booth in the corner. Perfect! Saw everything and everyone! Coming again....
Just visited LAVO for the second time, but now for endless brunch with the girls. What an experience this was! $55 pp for basically all you can eat/family style dining. You have the bottomless drink options for $20 classic mimosa (pick 3 juices), $35 Bloody Mary (choose your hard liquor), or $60 champagne. Certain menu items for the brunch can also be chosen for an additional charge. The dessert table is all you can eat. We ordered a number of items and were comfortable to eat and share amongst the 8 of us. We never felt rushed and were always topped off and brought fresh plates by the lovely Julio. Thank you for your amazing service! We were taken care of. The restaurant dining areas and bathroom were clean and tidy. Presentation of all the food and drinks were superb. The music playing from the DJ was on point. It's was such a vibe! I honestly can't wait to be back. Truly a great deal and they do not compromise quality or taste with any of the dishes.
Going to this simple and short. I came here after work few days ago with my co-workers for thier Happy Hour and have to say their HH food was delicious but their HH drinks options wasn't that great. Everything in the HH are $10. HH- Margarita Pizza Fritto Misto Truffle Fries We did ordered a couple stuff of the regular menu like their Oysters, Wagyu Beef Carpaccio and Yellowfin Tuna Tartare. Oysters- Were fresh and delicious. Wagyu Beef Carpaccio- Wagyu beef was nice and tender. The black truffle was a lacking taste and that truffle small. Definitely was an old truffle. Yellowfin Tuna Tartare- This was alright. Didn't have much of a flavor. Service was fantastic and friendly at the bar. I would definitely return but sadly the restaurant will close its doors on December 30th 2025 what I have been hearing. read more
Lavo's mimosa brunch is where it's at! Honestly, I almost don't want to share this because I don't want it to get so popular that I can't snag a reservation on a Sunday lol. We celebrated my mom's birthday here with family and friends (party of 8), and it was the perfect spot. This endless brunch is meant to be experienced with a group so you can try a little bit of everything. They bring out generous, family-style portions, all fresh and made to order. We had the chicken and waffles, truffle pizza, oysters, Caesar salad, chicken Parmesan, pancakes--just to name a few--and every single dish was delicious. And for the price? It's absolutely worth it: $65 per person plus $25 for bottomless mimosas. The value is chef's kiss. Our waitstaff was amazing--super attentive, kept the food flowing, and made sure our glasses were never empty. The whole vibe is immaculate. There's a DJ playing the best 90s and 2000s R&B, and a few of us couldn't resist getting up to dance at our table. The aesthetics, the food, the drinks, the service--5 stars all around. I'm so sad they are closing for good next month! Once I heard this news, I knew I needed to hurry and dine here before I missed my chance. Let me start by saying the decor is so beautiful! Lavo is great for all occasions from date night to a girls night out. They also have a private table for a private party. The bar area is open seating... shout out to a Jessie! He was so nice and pleasant. The drinks he made were so delicious! I recommend the bubbles and berry or the lychee martin... you can't go wrong with either. Prior to finishing our night at the bar, we had dinner reservations in the main dining area. Rosie was great and made some good recommendations as well. Everything we ate was super delicious. I highly recommend the zitoni genovese (braised short rib pasta)..... EXCELLENT DISH! Filled with so much flavor and the short rib was so tender and delicious. Yum! I also enjoyed the Cesar salad and the tuna tartare. They have valet parking right in the front for $22 with validation. read more

The service, food and charming ambiance made it an unforgettable evening. From the moment we put our foot in, we know we're in for a treat! Every dish was spectacular! Michael's introduction of the specials were presented well. Our stomachs were thanking us for selecting this wonderful place. Can't wait to come back to try their famous sea bass. Really nice fancy layout. Even though it's a tad loud from a lot of people talking, it was still a nice spot to have a lovely dining experience. Michael our waiter was very friendly and informative. I had just an amazing brunch experience here yesterday. The dj was playing all the jams. They service was great, they even let people get up and feel the need to do a little two step! Had brunch here and honestly, everything was so good. We tried the chicken parmesan, vodka penne, truffle pizza, honey toast, pancakes, and chicken and waffles. Every dish was flavorful and worth it. The endless mimosas were a great deal, and our waitress was super sweet and attentive. The DJ kept the vibe fun with great music, and overall it felt like the perfect spot for a weekend brunch. The only downside was that they don't let you take your leftovers to go. I get it for an endless brunch, but it would be nice to take what you've already started eating. That policy is the only reason I'm giving it 4 out of 5 stars. read more
Made a whole LA day trip to experience the endless brunch here, and it was absolutely worth the high price tag. Upscale, picturesque design with tons of delicious brunch options to experience. Food (5/5) - $55/person endless brunch featuring dishes like fresh oysters, tuna tartare, smoked salmon+eggs benedict, perfectly cooked carbonara and bolognese pastas, cinnamon rolls the size of your face, shareable savory pizzas, a dessert bar and so much more. The value in this "endless" brunch was noticeable as every dish felt (tasted) WORTH ordering. Service (4/5) - New menu, servers need some time to see what's popular or not to really nail delivery on dining options/recommendations but they were absolutely quick with refills, new plates, food pacing, everything. Ambiance (4/5) - Absolutely stunning theme, decor, setup just everything about this place has a lot of "elegance factor". Half the meal was spent enjoying food, the other half just enjoying the environment around our table. I will say, nearby parking here is nonexistent and they only offer valet which was a fine sacrifice for a great meal. Tried their DineLA brunch on a Sunday and loved our experience so much that we came back for dinner THREE days later with more friends. We decided to opt for the DineLA dinner menu. What a treat indeed. Our night kicked off with a round of bubbly for the table, compliments of their manager. As there was 4 of us we were able to get 4 different appetizers and mains. One friend's review was "they by far have the best appetizers of all the places in LA." What an endorsement. We decided to repeat the prosciutto and cheese along with the fritto misto as those were our favorites from our previous visit. Of the mains, my favorite was the branzino. I kept using the wrong adjectives to describe it, but I settled on meaty. That piece was thicc and the stuff that came on the side of it perfectly complimented the dish. We loved the dessert presentation. That tiramisu was honestly the best dessert I've ever had in my life. That's on bible! Our server Bailey was great, but I have to give all the credit to Solomon who took such great care of us. We saw more of him than Bailey and we weren't mad about it. He was so entertaining and always made sure our glasses were always filled with water. Not once did we have to ask for a refill. We could've poured the water ourselves as the bottle was on the table, but he was always walking the perimeter and would do it himself. I love this place so much it's about to be my new go to spot. The Tao Restaurant Group's Lavo in WeHo is a very cute restaurant and at brunch has a DJ spinning chill music. The 2 hour AYCE brunch is pretty well staffed as it picked up pace as the afternoon progressed. Our server was extra careful about my allergy which was extremely appreciated. We opted to start with oysters (a few of mine had bits of shell). Favorites among the group were the Caesar salad, mushroom pizza, Chicken parm (this is extra) and carbonara. My friends got the bottomless mimosas which they enjoyed especially because they aren't premixed and were kept flowing. The desserts were a mixed bag. Skip the macarons. All I can say is it's been a while since I've had a place where the food was phenomenal all around everything I tried was a 10 out of 10 very delicious nice size portions and it's literally all you can eat. The menu has so much to choose from the oysters was a nice size and they were fresh. keep in mind. You're only allowed two dozen oysters. The service was great as well for be packed. I do feel like we were still taking care of to their best ability everybody was friendly and smiling and working together as a team the ambience absolutely gorgeous so beautiful so upscale perfect for date night or just an outing with friends. I definitely will go back Because the overall experience was worth every penny. read more
The food was good. The pasta was delicious, the truffle eggs were fine. All was heavily priced but let me say the decor and ambiance was incredible. So beautifully done with the mediterranean vibes and all the fruits and plants. The bar area was gorgeous all the tables and chairs were so perfectly set up. I loved all the accompaniments for the coffee service and the basket of pastries was very cute and a nice touch. I highly recommend for brunch. Service was a little slow but the restaurant was busy so it's understandable. read more

Came here with some friends - no reservation was told there were no tables but we could eat at the bar. The host did tell us that the bar area did have an event at 8:30 - but they didn't kick us out. They just set up their event around us (lol). Decor is very well done- the tables were a bit small but mind you we were at the bar, not really dining tables. The food was pretty good we got oysters, pizza and tuna tare tare. Oysters very good - but that's cause of the oysters. I thought the pizza was ok- my friends really liked it. The tuna was VERY good. We ordered the tiramisu at the end of the night. It took a while to come and the event was pretty much about to start so we made the executive decision to just cancel and grab the check. Our server was so understanding and didn't charge us for the dessert bit brought it out anyway. Who ever our server was (I think it was Amy?) she deserves a raise. We chose this to be our only DineLA week restaurant. The menu seemed to please everyone in our party and seemed way above and beyond the value of the price. We got to the restaurant 20 minutes early and had some happy hour cocktails. They have happy hour in a separate bar area and it's all day on Mondays. The hostess promptly came over at 6 PM for our reservation but let us sit in the bar for a little bit longer to have another drink. Our table in the main dining room was amazing very comfortable and very spacious. The restaurant is gorgeous. I love the atrium and it gives that comfy outdoor feeling without being in the summer heat. Our waitress Olivia was so kind and so sweet and very helpful with the menu. Everyone in our party opted for DineLA menu and we opted to order a shared meatball, which was plenty big to share. Everything was so delicious. Everything was a 10 out of 10. As for the restaurant, it's just off sunset and slightly hidden. I really like the location. We don't often venture to the side of LA so it was nice to experience something so delicious. At the end of dinner, the manager gave us all a comped drink coupon for our next visit Which we were already planning on coming back anyways and the free drink just makes it all the better. read more

TBH it wasnt the vibe that I thought it would be. The crowd is older and snobbier and the staff matches that energy, especially the hosts. The hosts were weird and almost judgmental? They just had this weird energy immediately after we walked in. Arent hosts supposed to be nice? In addition, they sat a large table so close to us that when the waiter took their orders, his whole ass was hanging over our table and in our faces. Not his fault and I get it, I really do, it was a Friday night. But the restaurant couldnt have given their staff a safe and reasonable walking aisle? They had trouble delivering our food, cleaning away our table, etc! We also asked them to pack our left over garlic bread that we bought and it was missing from our left overs. Weird lol. Overall the food was good, and our server, whose name is French for candle, was super sweet, so we were happy on that part. But would I go here again? Probably not read more
The location is odd because it's connected to a medical building. The ambience inside is very nice though. It's stylish, trendy, and feels elevated. It was very dim, which created a very lovely atmosphere. Unfortunately, you will also get a lot of rowdy unrefined LA patrons who could affect your dining experience. Apparently, someone was smoking pot inside, and the strong smell circulated throughout the restaurant. People sitting at the tables next to me were looking around trying to figure out who was the culprit. Food wise, every dish was very good. We ordered meatballs, spicy calabrese pizza, and grilled octopus for starters and every dish had great flavors. Brick oven pizza was thin and delicious, grilled octopus was tender and charred well. For entrees, we had branzino and salmon and the fishes were soft and flavorful. Cocktail drinks were refreshing. Dessert was my least favorite. While the tiramisu dessert was tasty, it was mostly creamy liquid and barely any cake filling. It felt like eating melted mousse. As for service, the entire staff was very nice. Our waiter was professional and very cordial, and he managed to be attentive while serving multiple tables. On a side note, this establishment is an upscale Italian restaurant - which also means expensive - so be prepared to shell out some money. If you want Italian food at a more reasonable price, this place would not be ideal. read more

The simplest way to tell if a restaurant will be good is to order a simple steak and see how it turns out. The three of us ordered the filet mignon. One ordered it medium rare, one medium, and one medium well done. All three steaks came out burnt looking... now I know that ordering a steak medium well done can be controversial, however, all three steaks were ordered to be cooked at different levels and they all came out burned. This is pretty unacceptable considering it is one of the easiest dishes to prepare. And for the price point, you would think they could do better. Other than that, the atmosphere is very nice, lots of ambient lighting, and the waiter was very kind to us. The cocktails were good and the appetizers were also very good. I don't know if I would come back though, but it is an experience to have at least once. read more
Vibrant, fun, celebration worthy restaurant! LAVO gets very loud inside, and on certain nights of the week there is a DJ. Delicious food not overdone; simple but well-balanced dishes. My absolute favorites are the tagliatelle al limone, grilled octopus, and grilled branzino. LAVO is part of the TAO restaurant group so the atmosphere can feel very party-like. The playlist is always great, mixed with old-school and new-school songs. I've come for dinner and brunch once and had equal experiences. My friend and I were dining here for dinner and unfortunately were asked to give up our table at the end of the reservation window. The manager however, gave us complimentary champagne and moved us over to the bar area. We ordered the 20 layer chocolate cake and the peanut butter mascarpone in it was so prominent that we didn't enjoy the chocolate cake. Because our dessert wasn't great, the manager replaced it with the tiramisu which wasn't great either but the service was above expectation. read more

Definitely recommend coming for happy hour - $25 gets you a wood-fired pizza and a bottle of wine, which is a great deal. The bar area is beautiful, with a classic rounded bar and tall tables that make it a nice spot for lunch or an early dinner. We were pretty hungry, so we started with dinner in the main dining area, then moved to the bar to check out happy hour. We probably didn't need both in one day lol, we were full - but everything was good, so no regrets!! The dining space is open and modern with a warm, earthy feel and upscale vibe. Service was excellent - the staff were friendly and attentive, even on a busy night. We ordered the garlic bread (huge portion, definitely good for sharing), the calamari (solid), and I had the ravioli. It was decent, but I preferred my partner's vodka pasta - it had more flavor. The tortolini is on the lighter side, which is great if you're not too hungry. Drinks were great. I had a martini I really liked - they were out of their most popular one, so I'll have to come back to try it. I'll definitely be returning many more times for the happy hour! read more
Returned to Lavo for the Endless Brunch and oh my goodness, it was AMAZING! All the food is delicious and fresh, my favorites were the Caesar salad and meatball. They have a dj on the weekends and the vibes are immaculate. Our server was awesome, very attentive to our party of 9. I highly recommend this experience! read more
