It was a pound of juicy bone-in chicken (dark meat), potatoes, chickpeas, a douse of sweet tamarind sauce and a sprinkle of shredded cucumber. Peppa sauce at your own risk! Issa hot one! I passed. And I know I might face some slack from my fellow Caribbean people but I can only do mild. Don't take my card! Back to the food. You can get small and large orders of food. They have rice, cold salads, hot soups, stews, curries, veggies, fish and more. You can be Vegan, Vegetarian, Meat-o-tarian and you'll be well fed. Having rated their previous location a 3, Id be the first to admit that they have improved a lot of things at their new location. Along with the more modern look , their food has improved . Improved a lot I'd say actually. I wanted to rate this place a 5 after really enjoying my meal along with afew of their baked goods but I have an issue with their portioning . Particularly in regards to the meat . I ordered a medium sized meal of stew chicken, spinach rice , lentils and cole slaw . Food tasted amazing ! Especially when I added some avocado to it at home . The pieces of chicken were thoroughly scarce of meat . I had four pieces of chicken and only one I'd say had meat on it of any substance . The other three were basically bones including one piece I suspect was the chicken's neck . It was definitely enough to compliment the mounds and mounds of rice ..albeit tasty rice .. Come to think of it ,I overheard another customer dictating her order to the effect of having less rice and more meat . At 10 bucks for a medium ,I'd like more meat and would be more selective whenever I return . I feel like I shouldn't have to even be in that situation. Like I am not a heavy meat eater by any stretch but this portion of edible chicken was ridiculous and perhaps management is to blame ? Everything can be specialized in the true trini way. But they run out of sauces fast. On 6/19/24, I ordered a number of items from this restaurant on Uber Eats. Of the items, I ordered four beef doubles but got four goat doubles instead to share between my friend and I. On 6/21/24, my friend sent me pictures of a foreign metal object lodged in the meat of one of the goat doubles. I was embarrassed when I got the pictures because I ordered from here before and have never seen this before. And now I'm unsure on whether this happens often and no one noticed or paid attention.
