The view is second to none, but the food...eh. I had the cedar plank salmon, and it was okay, but nothing spectacular. I also had crab cakes, which were good, but again, nothing special. I liked that they had sparkling water, and the sever was nice and attentive, but the prices are overinflated for the mediocre food. I ate at Trinity for the first time yesterday and while the food WAS good, the infestation of flies in the inside eating area was the worst I've ever seen at a supposed higher class restaurant. We had to be constantly fanning our food with our hands to keep from consuming a mouthful of flies while we were eating. I don't even want to think about what the food prep area was like with food setting out while the flies are tasting it before it got to the table. We happened upon this restaurant by chance driving through Sandpoint and I am so glad we did. The location is lovely. We sat on the outdoor deck seating, which has a lovely view of the lake. We tried the corn and crawfish soup, which was creamy and flavorful. Also had the Portuguese Clams. These were very good- very generous portion of clams served in a rich, cream sauce. Only complaint here is that I almost wanted some noodles or something with which to eat the rest of the sauce, because it was a bit too rich to eat straight. Finally, we had the pulled pork enchiladas which were fantastic. Crispy and unique. Overall, the food was really yummy and service was superb. Our waiter (Ian, I think?) was very respectful and attentive. I would definitely eat here again if I were in the area! read more

In the interest of being fair I'd like to say that we were here on Saturday for lunch and had a great experience. For that I'd rate them a 4. We liked it enough that we decided to stop for breakfast on the way out of town on Sunday. When we arrived we were told that the only option was Brunch which seemed fine because it was less than $13. This is where it all went down hill. At any given time atleast 1/3 of the brunch items were out and not just side dishes that no one cares about. They were out of the main dishes. Like eggs, hash-browns and most importantly- bacon! The line would be 6+ people deep waiting on food and they would bring out enough bacon for 3 people plus 6 pancakes. They also had gravy for biscuits and gravy but NO biscuits. Had to wait forever on those too! At no point in time was the kitchen ever caught up. They were just reacting to food being out- like it was a surprise and they didn't have another batch in the works to refill. Complete chaos. If you show up and brunch is the only option you need to skip it! read more

Stopped in for an early dinner. Sitting on the patio is awesome. Service was great. Only downside was my dinner choice. I went with a waitress recommendation, the chicken Florentine pasta. The sauce is billed as a garlic, wine cream sauce. With garlic and wine in the name I was expecting something on the lighter side. It was thick, heavy and lacking in garlic or wine flavor. The dish was also very light on chicken. Seemed like a great place. Likely would have taken it back if I asked. I will give Trinity another chance and order something different. read more

Started with calamari, it was good but typical. I had fresh Pacific sockeye salmon with huckleberry sauce. They could leave off the wilted greens on top, green beans were crisp and fresh, pilaf overcooked. My SO and I loved the salmon, cooked perfectly. Corn chowder good, but on the spicy side and no crawfish in as menu states. Filet cooked perfectly at medium with mashed potatoes (skins left on), kids meals were fine and their prices spot on ($4.99). Loved sitting outside, view of the lake, no bugs. Wish the plastic tables and chairs were wooden. Overall, we'd return. Chocolate molten cake awesome, warm, gooey and superbly chocolatey! But no ice cream to accompany??! read more

They earned the third star because the food was delicious and our drinks (the ones we actually got) were great. The service ummmm..... Starting with the hostess. She was a hot mess since it was so busy. You could tell she was overwhelmed and not handling it very well. The group that checked in before us she was blatantly rude too saying "the ticket times are just crazy right now". I've never heard that before. We were seated because we called to reserve a table. Once seated the people around us were getting waited on and getting constant water refills except for us. After finally getting waited on our drinks were the best old fashioneds we have ever had. The appetizer portuguese clams were absolutely delicious and our steak meals were also delicious and cooked perfectly. The menu was a little disappointing that most everything had cream in it so we were limited on what to order. After we got our food our waitress just disappeared. My husband ordered another drink. It never arrived and it never was even put on our ticket. We started to notice again that tables around us were getting served quicker and being turned over quicker. I did see our server multiple times helping tables outside on the patio. I was a little dumbfounded that wait staff is expected to be efficient waiting tables inside and outside instead of sticking to one area. I will think about coming back maybe because the food and scenery was so great but not sure about the service when there are a couple other places in town we love. read more
