Super cheap breakfasts, nothing stunning, but good tasty food. Skip the scrambled eggs, they look they came out of a can, but prepared other ways the looked great. $5 for a two egg, two link, and toast breakfast. Can't beat that! Didn't eat here for dinner, or lunch but we saw some awesome looking burgers going out. They had a couple of good microbrews on tap, and the $2.50 happy hour pints of Laughing Dog Rocket Rye were a bargain. My husband and I ate here recently. This was one of the very Best dinners we have had out in a very long time!! Everything was excellent including our server, I believe his name was Ian? Very knowledgeable and friendly! I had the salmon and my husband had the sea bass, we had calamari for an appetizer, which was perfectly cooked! Compliments to the chef and the establishment!! Myself,my Husband and 3 kids decided to try this place for the first time today based on the reviews and the excellent location. everyone was super hungry and excited to try a new place. We arrived around 12:45 on a Sunday afternoon and we were told that there weren't any tables available on the Patio, which we were bummed about, but decided to just take the next available table inside. As it was we still had a good view through the window. Once sat, we noticed about 3 tables open on the patio, and within a matter of 10 min, they were filled. So maybe the parties were waiting in the bar?? Anyhoo, we were greeted by the server and she took our drink order which was just waters,then she disappeared for 10 min and then showed up again to take our food order. This is where things went downhill fast. Once the food order was taken, she stated, "don't worry, our kitchen is faster than I am". but we waited....and waited. Meanwhile, our server walked past our table clearing other tables,delivering checks,taking others orders. I even noticed other tables with baskets of bread to munch on. Were we offered bread? No. Our waters were refilled by the water pourers walking around. But at no point in time did we hear from our server again until 45 min of waiting for our food had passed. And as she attempted to walk past our table again without muttering a word, my husband caught her attention and asked "what happened to the kitchen being so quick?" And she replied with "since when is our kitchen ever quick?" What?! And then I chimed in and said "I notice there are other tables with bread" and she replied with"oh, ok. Do you want me to bring you some?" So apparently, there is complimentary bread, and we had starving complaining children who had been waiting 45 min already, and she never thought to bring out the Bread?! Jeez. So she goes to get the bread and comes back with the bread AND our food. 45-50 after our order was taken! To top it off, we watched other tables that ordered after us after us get their food first! All we ordered was a kids quesadilla, kids chicken fingers, a salad, and a prime rib sandwich. Most of those things are fairly quick to make. So what took so dang long? My husbands prime rib sandwich came on soggy bread,the meat was rough to chew,and the horseradish sauce had no flavor. Plus, they put cheese on it even though he had requested no cheese. The view is really all that saved us from giving the restaurant 1 star. I expected so much more from this place. So disappointed. Maybe a nice place to come and sit and sip a drink for 2 hours and take in the view,but don't come here hungry expecting to get fed in a timely manner and actually enjoy your meal. read more

Delishious food and a beautiful view. A group of 7 of us went here on Sunday evening. We made a reservation and were able to sit outside. Although it was a bit chilly there was heaters and they gave us blankets which was a great feature! Out waitress was great and helped us select what to eat and drink. We greatly appreciated her opinions and she didn't steer us wrong. They brought out hot fresh bread for the table. We got fish and chips, two got the popper burger with sweet potato fries,the fish tacos, pulled pork enchiladas, and I got the half Cesar and the portobello mushroom ravioli. All of the food was great! My Cesar was grilled which was really tasty and not mushy at all. The enchiladas had a great flavor to them and was beautifully presented. The fish and chips were hot and fresh. And the two who had the popper burger said it was the best burger they had had at a restaurant. It had great flavor for a restaurant! All in all a great experience! After you eat you can go down to the beach or go play in the nearby volleyball courts! read more

Where do I start!! Last year I was engaged here in November. I am now looking to having my ceremony and reception right at trinity . I live in St.Maries,IIdaho which is 2 hours away and worth the drive. There food is great and the view is so serene I won't have to do much decorating at all but maybe a little flower arrangement's on the tables!!! You want a great place to take pictures you are seconds from beauty just look outside it is unreal. Justin you do a great job! My favorite restaurant in Sandpoint. One of the best things that happened to the Sandpoint dining scene was when Trinity took over the space that formally housed the terrible Beach House. What a waste of waterfront views that place was... But then Trinity swooped in and saved the day! New establishment, better service and a delicious meal, not to mention THE VIEW! Some of my favorites on the menu are the Pork Enchiladas, The Clams, the Crawfish chowder and the Grilled Caesar...yum! Also their breakfasts are outstanding. We had the opportunity to have both a dinner and a Sunday breakfast here. It was delightful to eat dinner on the deck. Service was very good - with water and coffee refilled often. My husband had the wild (hard to find wild!!) salmon salad w/huckleberries. He said it was excellent!!! I had the penne chicken with spinach pasta. The sauce was excellent - and disappointed as there was hardly any chicken!!!! For Sunday breakfast, only the buffet was available - no menu options. You could have a omelette with as many fillings as you'd like, bagels, crackers, capers, pastries/sweet rolls, bacon (enhanced for sure - w/brown sugar! and maybe maple syrup), sausage, salmon in a sauce, etc. Drinks were extra. The service was attentive. It is nice to be able to eat and look at the lake. read more

We stayed next door to this restaurant so it was very convenient. Fortunately the food was very good. We had breakfast there twice...good pancakes flavored with orange zest, my husband loved their breakfast potatoes and eggs, and they offered a variety of other dishes. Lunch was even better. Their corn chowder topped with crayfish and bacon was very good. We also had the grilled Caeser salad and the spinach salad. Both were very tasty. We also had dinner...prime rib and halibut. The fish was fresh and perfectly cooked. It was stuffed with crab. My husband loved the prime rib. The generous cut was enough for leftover sandwiches the next day. The restaurant overlooks the lake and has several decks and open spaces so it is easy to snag a water view table. The service was good...the wait staff was prompt and efficient. They employ some really young looking kids as bus boys who do a good job of keeping your water filled. They may not be the most polished servers...but they were hardworking and dedicated. The prices were very reasonable. The wine selection by the glass was very good and included one of my favorites, Rombauer Chardonnay. read more

Food's usually OK to good but the service is consistently lackluster. Tonight was an absolute low point. The dining room was fairly full at 5:00 when they began dinner service but they had only one server. It took well over an hour to be served which was totally unacceptable, especially when there was no attempt to explain or apoligize. The men were served first, a no-no any time and especially on Mother's Day. We had to ask for bread after about 30 minutes of waiting. The noise level is very high and there is a complete absence of anything that would reduce noise. I live here and have given them their last chance. There's too many other restaurants in town that surpass them in quality, service, consistency and price. read more

When it was delivered it was cold, there were 4 of us, and all meals were cold. They were not busy at all, the place was almost empty, and still they could manage to deliver a hot meal on time. My husband and I went to the Edgewater for a Valentines Day getaway. We checked in the day before and contacted Trinity Cafe about room service. They were very courteous. We ordered the Valetines Dinner special and it was spectacular. We called and asked them to send a bottle of champagne up to our room after we had gotten our meal, and they were at our door within a minute or 2 of us calling them. They even brought glasses, which my husband and I purchased from them as a souvenir. The food was cooked to perfection and beautifully presented, I might add. It was moderately priced, in comparison to some of the other Valetines Dinner specials at other local restaurants (I did my homework). We are going to eat there again, I guarantee it. They helped us make an already special night for us, perfect. read more

Avoid at all costs. My family stayed at the Best Western. The lady at the desk recommended Trinity for dinner and claimed it was in the top 3 restaurants in Sandpoint. So, we made the mistake of ordering room service from Trinity. We ordered the baby back ribs for the kids, it tasted like melted plastic...a very toxic taste. My wife ordered the NY strip. It was almost all inedible due to the gristle and veins running through it...very low quality NY strip. I ordered the rack of lamb. This was probably the best out of the 3 but still 1 star. Even though it came with infused oil and a demi glaze, it was very bland and had lots of inedible parts. For the price, they could use much better quality and actually clean/trim the meats. The following morning on our way out of town we decided to give Trinity another shot. I even said "How hard can it be to screw up breakfast?". This was another mistake. They had their Sunday brunch only. There were only potatoes, bacon, sausage, biscuits and gravy, and rice pilaf. Their eggs were cooked to order as well as their omelets. The bacon was sweet and covered with pepper. My wifes omelet came with sweet ham and the cheese wasn't even melted. She almost threw up at the table. My kids ate a few strawberries but that was it. Their potatoes seemed like frozen Or-ida potatoes straight from the bag. On our way out of town I had to stop and get water of the cooler to help my wife get the horrible taste out of her mouth. I had the disgusting bacon flavor in my mouth for hours. The waitress noticed we didn't eat much food and claimed to have taken off the price of one of the kids meals. That was a lie, some quick math and it was obvious she didn't remove anything from the tab. Do yourself a favor and go to McDonalds. If I could give this place -1264 stars I would. read more

Trinity used to be one of my favorite Sandpoint restaurants. The food was consistently well prepared and thoughtfully arranged, the service was very good, and the atmosphere warm and welcoming. I've eaten at their new location twice now, once in February 2010 and again about a week ago. My experience in February was very good, but something has changed. Last week when we were there we sat outside to enjoy the summer weather. The first thing I noticed was that the recently renovated restaurant space isn't standing the test of time very well. The faux wood floors are showing a lot of wear and tear. Several of the wait staff were sloppily dressed in stained clothing. The service and attention from our waiter was ok, but not great. I ordered the special: pasta fruti de mar-- the seafood was dry and overcooked and the dish was fairly bland. My wife ordered a pasta dish with sauted halibut and salmon and "forest" mushrooms. They looked like grocery store crimini or button mushrooms to me and the dish was very underseasoned and undersalted. My wife only ate half of her dish and the waiter didn't think to ask if everything was ok. I understand that in the summertime the restaurant is much busier and a more casual atmosphere is adopted for outdoor dining, but for an otherwise "nice" place like Trinity I was very disappointed. I'm sure I'll eat there again, but I'll be looking at other places first. read more

Food-Good Service- Getting worse every time we go. We frequent this restaurant multiple times a year since it is a meeting spot for our families. The last time we were there our waitress took multiple smoke breaks ( we could see her outside the window) and never refilled coffee and water. This time we were greeted by a waitress and told that if we wanted breakfast we had better hurry up and order right then. It was a little past 1030 am. Two out of the four of us had not yet arrived and we were reminded constantly that our big chance to order breakfast was well passed and she was going to switch out the menus on us. She eventually did come over and take our breakfast menus to give us lunch menus because we couldn't order until the others got there since it was a birthday breakfast. The whole thing was so ridiculous, the icing on the cake was when she went into the back and loudly told the cook that there were some people who wanted breakfast but their party wasn't all there. It was quite literally dead in this restaurant on a Thursday morning. We were always kind and friendly and are now considering finding a new location to meet up with friends and family. read more

Best bloody mary in town. Excellent menu options. My only criticism is limited gluten free options for those like me with a sensitivity. They have no gf bread to dip in the delicious clams or mussels dish or do a sandwich or burger. Also not a fan of the breakfast buffet. That being said, I've had probably the best filet mignon I've ever had here, cooked just how I like it - medium rare. I get cravings for their NY strip steak salad, with goat cheese instead of blue cheese, and with those delicious little fresh fried onion rings. The tiramisu is perfection. Tiramisu is one my "things." Their take is classic, you get a good balance of rum, whip, marscapone, chocolate and coffee, with the texture light and airy. It is the place to be in the summer, you can arrive by boat, wander in from the beach, go to meet friends or meet new people. I've met interesting people at the bar - it's friendly and social atmosphere and of course the view is great. Great for a kentucky mule, mojito, or 41 North huckleberry vodka lemonade, and even though they get busy, their amazing bartenders keep it together, as well as the wait staff and kitchen. Superb mixologists. In my experience going there for several years, their food and service are consistent and top quality. It's a great "casual fine dining" spot, where you feel comfortable and relaxed, and can enjoy the view. The bar gets noisy sometimes. It is one of Sandpoint's long time iconic restaurant locales. For people from out of town, this is a great place to come get the idea what Sandpoint is all about, and mingle with some locs. When it first opened as Trinity at the Beach (it used to be Edgewater) they had the best jalapeño poppers I've ever had (another one of my "things"). They were fresh jalapeños stuffed with some herbal cheese mixure, lightly pankoed and fried, with a peanut dipping sauce. I wish they'd bring them back! I can't make them as good. read more

Best view of any restaurant in Sandpoint, and arguably the Inland NW. We've eaten there 4 times and would rate the experiences as 4 star twice, 3 stars once and 2 stars once. This inconsistency thus provides the overall 3 star ranking. Lunch prices are high for what you get, and the fries are mediocre. Service has been variable, including extremely inattentive wait staff on 2 of 4 occasions. Pasta dishes were excellent, as were the quesadillas. Wine menu a bit limited but very reasonably priced. Full service bar. The crawfish soup is quite yummy. read more
