PLEASE READ! When we decided to get solar panels our salesman Travis (who I was told is no longer with the company) was extremely thorough with any questions we had during the process. Can't complain about our solar bill either BUT you need to beware of the scam this company tries to get away with. During the permit and paperwork process, I asked what I thought was the most important question to the salesman, "when I do need a reroof done, what will the cost be to remove and reinstall the solar panels", I was given a price on paper by our salesman for $984. Doesn't sound so bad does it? So my wife and I knew when the time comes that we would have to put $1,000 to the side for the process. Well, that time has come and we were told by the roofing install dept (Bill) that the cost for removal and reinstallation would be $6,000!!! We immediately argued that our salesman told us the original price and even wrote it down on on 1 of the hundreds of papers we signed and Bill said "if you have some sort of documentation stating that price then we would honor it". After going thru all of our paperwork we found the paper with the price written on it. I have since then called Trinity Solar 4 times and left messages since we spoke to Bill on 3/12/24 and I have yet to hear back from anyone. So, I took it upon myself to contact IGS Solar whom we pay our solar bill too and they too even said that they have had multiple complaints about Trinity Solar (who is one of their contractors/installers) and this same exact issue that many other people are experiencing. Don't believe me?, read all of the google reviews that you want and see for yourself. IGS Solar explained that Trinity Solar recently started doing reroofs as well and they are most likely trying to provide that service to us as well, which they did. Bill told us if we get the reroof through Trinity and combine it with the removal and reinstall of the panels it would be $14,000! How about you just keep to your word and honor the original price that I was told at $984. Until they contact me back and make this right I will continue to fight this, my next action will be to contact the Better Business Bureau!!! The most unprofessional workers ive ever dealt with. Not only did they damage my newly built porch and left a mess after leaving but when coming to "repair" the damages they half did the job leaving large gaps between my deck boards making what was a beautiful new deck look like a hack job home owner special. We thought it was going to be fantastic but it has been nothing but lies. They do not provide the Solar Edge app, even when promised and you have it in writing. They issue new engineer's reports when they try to cut corners with construction. They try to install damaged panels and just touch up the paint. We have a significant discrepancy between what we are generating and what is going to our power company. Absolute nightmare. We have been fighting them since dec. Very disappointed in Trinity Solar. We had our panels installed in April and they have still not been turned on. We were informed after installation that they should be working within a few days, and here we are 4 months later with the strong summer months basically over, and still no solar power. After weeks/months of just ignoring our emails, they sent somebody over 3 months later to install MORE panels? In other words, somebody screwed up the initial installation. Nothing was done about this, no discounts, or even an explanation really. And here we are, 1 month since the additional panels were installed, and STILL no solar power. Lastly, when they provided us with the contract to sign, it was $12,000 more than what we were quoted for, resulting in around $50 more per monthly payment, which i am not happy about either. The upper management personnel I worked with used language to harm, intimidate, mock, and, at times, humiliate me by "putting me in my place," which is verbal harassment. Trinity Solar has unilaterally modified the contract with Sunnova to deny legitimate claims and evade accountability, leaving customers in the lurch. This is illegal; it is a Federal Offense. Contact the Federal Trade Commission, State Attorney General, and BBB to report Trinity's behavior. It is important to note that the leasing terms for your solar system are quite extensive. This means that for a period of at least two decades, possibly longer, you will be required to engage with Trinity and Sunnova to fulfill your legal contract. It is crucial to avoid experiencing years of gross negligence every time you encounter an issue with your solar system. Sunnova Energy Corp lacks BBB accreditation and has received numerous complaints, leading to BBB alerts. Trinity Solar may soon be in a similar situation. I did not decide to install solar panels on our roof; the decision was made before I moved in. If I had been the one to make the decision, I would have done my research and read reviews from the Better Business Bureau and other sources online. Absolutely intrusive! 2 people cased our road for HOURS knocking on everyone's doors and knocked/pounded on our door while ringing the door bell obnoxiously 2 separate times. We were not interested and they were persistent. They waited until our daughter arrived home (2.5 hrs later) and followed her up the driveway with headlamps on, making her very nervous. I am repeatedly being harassed with phone calls every day I have been called just about every day. My Voicemail log is full of Trinity Voicemails every day. I have repeatedly asked to be removed from their calling list and again today I get automated phone calls still. I am at the point that if I did want to buy solar I'd definitely go somewhere else. We installed solar through Trinity in 2021. The system works as projected - my bad review is due to their shady practices when it comes to referrals. We gave several over the last year and we were reimbursed the $1000 only for one. They will literally find any excuse NOT to pay the person making the referral. We spent a couple of years researching everything we could about installing solar in our home, and decided on Trinity, based on a few glowing recommendations from friends and our own fact finding. We decided to go with the purchase of the panels, allowing us to take advantage of some great federal and state programs, all of which were outlined carefully by Trinity. Let me say now that we weren't quite sure what to expect from the installation. Call us solar neophytes, but wow. They were exactly on time with a team of solar ninjas who scaled our roof, worked clean and fast, and presto, at the end of the afternoon, our home was superready for the sunshine. Not a piece of styrofoam, not a tiny wire, was left anywhere. They cleaned up and their job was perfect. We have been saving for a year now, and it's bananas what our bill was vs where it is now. You are looking at a family who truly believes in climate control, and our central air is on from April thru early October. Our electric bill was mortifying. Now, a few dollars and done. Anytime I need assistance, have a question, something pops up I need explained, I reach out to our Concierge and bam -- phone answered, question answered, guidance always wonderful. Their structural team is always on hand for information also. We monitor our production daily with an easy phone app and it makes us very happy to see we are being proactive with energy. Trinity Solar has a questionable "new policy" that forces the homeowner to buy a new roof From Them in order to have their panels uninstalled so a new roof can go on. They require you to buy a new roof from THEM in order to have the panels reinstalled. In other words, want a new roof from your own roofing company?? then too bad. Can't put a new roof on without someone removing and then reinstalling the panels can you. NO new roof from Trinity then no panels removed and replaced. Hello CT Consumer Protection Agency. I told him my husband may not want to pursue solar at this time and he told me that my "job" was to convince my husband -- it was awkward at best. I am located in Levittown, Long Island. I liked Trinity compared to other solar companies because they have been around since 1994. To me this means customer satisfaction. Many solar companies have been around for a FAR less time. Also they had good reviews on Long Island. Lou Romeo, was our agent with Trinity, he was fantastic! He was prompt with answering whatever questions we had and was very through! From the beginning to end he would always available for us. The installation was equally as professional. This was after a very polite and well mannered young man (Cal) knocked on our door a few days ago to introduce the company. I recognize this is very early in the process but I've been impressed so far and am posting this only because there are so many negative reviews concerning the sales process. The door to door sales people are so aggressive that the company comes off as being gimmickry. I just had someone try to get me to sign up for an appointment after telling them I already have a signed contract for solar. They tried to get me to make an appointment to "reach their quota" and told me I can just cancel over the phone. I won't share who the salesman was because this is simply a flaw with the company. Quotas and incentives for people to be as pushy as possible are a bad look for the business. If this company offered a quality product and service, there would be no need for them to use such aggressive sales tactics. I highly recommend Tesla solar. Showed up at my house, told them they could come do a consult. Took 15 minutes of my time to set up the consult with a door-door sales person calling someone else to ask me questions again. Then they left me a message and said they needed to speak with me but when I called back, first I was hung up on. Then I was put on hold for 20 minutes. Decided NOT to do business so when they texted to confirm, I said NO. They showed up anyway. Then continued to show up knocking on my door after I told them I wasn't interested anymore. Got a call a few months back to set up a meeting to discuss the program. I informed Them to call back as we were in the midst of a family emergency. They called back as stated. I informed them that setting up a meeting day and time was critical to meet because now we are caring for an elder at home. The meeting day and time was set. I got an email Confirmation right after the phone call to set it up. I also got a reminder phone call the day of the meeting letting me know what documents to have and to confirm the time. The meeting time was set for 7pm. I made sure we have everything we needed. 7 pm came and went. During this time we decided to look up Trinity on Google. Now it's 7:30pm still no call. After reading some reviews and not getting a call, I reply to the email I got from Trinity a week before which confirmed our meeting and said we cannot trust Trinity after seeing how poorly the rating are and missing the first meeting did not make us feel Comfortable. Anything to get his commission... he fails to tell you about better packages, doesnt give you all the info you should know about monthly paynents and somehow the roof inspection passed when it shouldn't have. I have been trying to get to someone about my solar panels that have been on my house for over 6 years, that they open the permit for over 6 years and has not been turned it on. No one seen to be able to help. They keep on transfering me to various departments. The permit on my house is open and I need it to be closed no no one can help. I started this 6 years ago and I stop calling them because no one see to be able to help. I starting calling them again last year and it is the same issue. We signed a contract in September and were told it would be installed in December. Then they kept postponing the date every month. We finally got the install March 17th and we are still waiting to be turned on. Also during the process of doing electrical work in the basement they drilled thru our hardwood floor in our living room and were told someone would reach out to us to get this repaired. It has been over a month and we have reported it several times with photos and no one has even attempted to contact us. This is totally unacceptable . They say there are none available. When I contacted Trinity they did have Sunova call me-but all lies and double talk and once again no return call. We had a TERRIBLE experience with Trinity solar. We signed on with them in early March of last year. They told us that the panels would be installed by the end of May. The timeline kept getting pushed back and ultimately the panels weren't installed until the END of August. It was September by the time we were able to turn them on. Put another way: When we signed up with Trinity, I was pregnant. About halfway through. By the time our solar panels were ready to go, I had given birth (on time), taken 12 weeks of maternity leave, and I was back at work. The entire process was ridiculous from start to finish. The company basically has no sense of customer service. They didn't communicate with us AT ALL. Every step of the way, we had to call them to make sure they were doing their jobs. If we didn't call, nothing got done, and we'd get no information. At one point, our account representative left the company (I hope he was fired). We got transferred to someone else and NO ONE told us! We found out when I called to make sure they were doing something or other. (I don't recall what it was because we had to call so many times.) After all this, the only concession they gave us was upgrading us to some fancier type of panels - but they had run out of the ones we were originally supposed to get anyway! DO NOT USE TRINITY. Sat down with a sales rep from Trinity solar, went through our yearly kilowatt hour usage and determined we would reduce our monthly electric bill from around $100 a month to $55 a month through them with some variation I assume. With the 2% annual increase after 25 years our lease would match our CURRENT bill and at that point the solar panels would be ours. Half of me is excited to save money and the other half is excited to use naturally produced solar energy. Team installed solar panels today, install was very professional. My Solar system went down in beginning August and now is near end of November I am still not getting any production. Trinity had only sent someone to look at the system twice but they push the problem to Sunnova. I have not received any production since it went down. Base on my numbers from my Coned bills, the production numbers shown in enphase monitor showing a little production but it actually closer to zero. Sunnova closes out case saying that everything is fine when it's not. I am not satisfied with how they are treating me as their customer. Like many reviewers here I am not getting any help with being passed back and forth between sunnova and Trinity. Stay away if you are looking for a good company to install your solar. read more

I was definitely one of the people who complained about ALL of the solar solicitation in my town over the past few summers, BUT once I sat down with Trinity and heard them out I was completely SOLD. I paid $0 for install, permits, etc. Trinity covered EVERYTHING. Now, instead of paying an electric bill, I pay $115 a month to lease the panels for 20 yrs. (My electric bills were about $200/month average). I mean, who WOULDN'T want to save that much a month? We also have the option to buy the panels after a few yrs. We are definitely happy with this decision and can't understand why anyone would NOT want to make their own local energy for themselves and their neighbors. read more

I'm shocked to see reviews about sales reps being rude and disrespectful! Mine was very nice and warm. Mark and I had a great conversation and he seemed trustworthy. That's why I believed him when he said he wouldn't deposit my $500 check until I was ready to move forward, and that I had 7 days to either cancel or ask for more time to think about it, without losing a penny. These guys were great when selling the system and the also did a nice job of installation. However, since my install and several requests, I have not received any contact from them at all. I have no idea how the system works, how to turn it on and off, or what the digital display on the inverter means. In fact, I have seen much better installations that look better than theirs. But now, I can only monitor what the system produces. I can't see what I'm drawing from the grid, or how much power I am using. So I ended up buying a Sense monitor to give me that info. Except, Sense advises that I hire an electrician to install it. But the Sense instructions seem so easy that I think I will do it myself. I kind of wish Trinity Solar would do this for me. But, there is no support from them at all. In fact, I, and the people that recommended them to me, are both still waiting for our $500 rebates that we were promised. 9 weeks after the installation?? I'm not sure that I will ever hear from them again? Update Jan 31, 2020 I still stand with the same opinion that there hasn't been any follow up from Trinity. However, I have installed my own Sense monitor that shows me the details of how much Solar is producing compared to how much I am using from the grid. I can say I am saving at least half of what I was paying with ACE alone. That will diminish as the system ages so I'm not sure what the 25 year average will bring. I do know that I have had one roof leak due to the installation but I expect that was due to one ice storm we had where ice accumulated under one of the solar mounts but I am afraid to call Trinity back to repair because it will probably end up in a hassle. It's not leaking now in rain but I still have to repair the damage. Oh well, all in all, I'm happy but at the same time disappointed. But I'll give them another star for saving me money for the time being! But please be advised- do not buy into a set monthly rate. The cost will increase as time goes on. Buy a plan where you only pay a set rate for what the system produces. Or best, if you can afford to invest in it, buy the system yourself so you can capitalize on the SRECs for every 1000kWhs you produce because it will pay for your system over time and may eventually become profitable! read more

Wasted my time and energy. I specifically asked the sales rep if they worked directly with Nyserda and he assured me they did, as I was already approved through Nyserda for this work and told him this during our phone conversation. I agreed to meet with them again to finalize numbers. On a Friday night the rep sat there and wasted almost two hours of my time; Monday morning they called to say they do NOT work with Nyserda. This is because they wanted me to take their high interest funding instead. Would NEVER work with this company and I am letting all my friends, neighbors, etc know. They are completely falsifying themselves as they represent themselves as Nyserda certified yet try the bait and switch by telling you you can wait months for paperwork, your going to loose the Federal rebates etc. Scare tactics are a disgrace in sales! read more
