I recently ate here on a business trip. The food was very good and the staff was really nice. While I only ate here once, the lemon chicken I ate was very tasty. Ate here with wife for my birthday lunch today for the first time in several years. It was a beautiful experience. I started with a chopped salad and a bowl of gazpacho soup. OMG--their gazpacho soup is the best I have ever had. It is only on the menu during the warmer months. The chopped salad was as perfect as a salad could be. For a main course I chose the tuna salad sandwich on 16 Bricks bread. Plus a side order of haricot verts. We had some bread also. Had to take part of the sandwich and green beans home. The server Bradley offered me a complimentary dessert for my birthday which was a nice gesture. I chose the strawberry shortcake which we both really enjoyed. Service was friendly and attentive throughout. This place has a great ambiance and is quiet enough to have some good conversation with friends. It's upscale with reasonable prices and one of Cincinnati's gems. We will be returning soon read more

Trio just never disappoints. You get what you pay for here, and that's right on the money. The food is outstanding, the service is outstanding (great staff! Our server, Pavel, was as good as Trio), and the ambience is super relaxing and classy. It's a great place to eat a great meal. Seared scallops over trofie pasta with pesto and candied lemon, a Kenwood (Bibb, Spinach, and so on - tasty and fresh all the way), and vanilla bean crème brûlée to finish. Not inexpensive sure, but I walked out feeling like I'd had a damn good meal. read more

We got sat in the back room at this restaurant which I really enjoyed! We had a nice window seat and it was quiet compared to the rest of the place which seemed dark and crowded. The pomegranate cosmo was very different and I really enjoyed it. We got the shrimp bruschetta as an appetizer and it was so good! I would get it for a meal if I returned! I asked the waitress if I should get the chicken or the shrimp pasta, and I wish I had gotten the shrimp pasta. The chicken was just dry and didn't have a lot of flavor or spice on the actual chicken. The Brussels were great, but I don't think they were worth $9. We were there at 9:10 and got hovered over some because they closed at 9 and seemed anxious to leave. We went for brunch on a Sunday. The brunch menu was good, and a regular menu was also available. The Eggs Benedict were nicely done on what appeared to be an artisan English muffin. The breakfast potatoes were chunky, crispy, and well seasoned. Our waitress, Sandy, was really exceptional. We were well attended, but not smothered. The facility was elegantly decorated. Our only issue was with a large table next to our booth that had a large party of rowdy ladies, so no fault of the restaurant. I would definitely go back to try their other menus. read more

We came with a big group and requested the round table in the back. It was perfect for us. The server gave us enough time to chat and also told us about the specials. Everyone got something different - I got the salmon, one friend got the burger and the other got the chicken. Both thoroughly enjoyed their meals. We even got dessert - the chocolate roll - yum!! The special cheesecake was really rich, creamy and good! -- and a vanilla ice cream. One person had an issue with her meal - she had said she was allergic to a seasoning and they served her flatbread with the seasoning on it. The manager did come and apologize and brought her a new one only it was not completely cooked. They wanted to bring her a different dinner and instead she got a dessert. They comped her a dessert. Trio is a fine restaurant with exceptional service tucked away near Kenwood mall. While it's obvious from the outside that this is a "nice" restaurant from the outside I was taken by surprise when we walked in the ambiance was better than expected. Food was top notch as well and the quality to cost ratio was quite favorable. read more

What has happened to Trio? For decades it's been my go-to place for excellent food. But lately? The servers famously don't write orders down and on three out of my four recent visits, each order was wrong. The lack of communication between servers and the kitchen is non existent. It's such a disappointment that even one of the area's best restaurants now can't be bothered to deliver the order correctly. They may be apologetic, but once a dining experience is ruined, nothing can make it right. read more

I did take out for the bbq pizza while I was in the area. I would give it a good not great. I remembered it tasting differently, this sauce was a little sweet. Still definitely a solid choice. I got with no onion or cilantro. It had been over a year since I went. I did curbside pickup and the team was great! read more

I got the special tonight and it was delicious. I was served the soft shell crab special (crab you can eat with the shell) and it was served with cheesy grits and a very acidic lemony sauce. Everything was delicious and I would recommend. I also got a wedge salad and they have great blue cheese crumbles and an extra large amount of bacon. Reasonable noise level and no tvs. Creative menu selection, wine list and desert menu. Can get expensive. Main menu has appetizers large enough to share, salads, pizza, soups, small entree and large entrees. I've never had a bad meal here. Lighting is low and hard for vision impaired to read menu. Christmas Eve dinner with the family. Place was very busy. It was really loud but not the restaurant's fault the table behind us was exceptionally loud and obnoxious as if they thought they were the only ones there. Everyone's food was good. I had the fillet and fries for $48. Fillet was pretty small but cooked perfectly. Fries were hot from a heat lamp and not the freshest. I should have asked for new ones but with the restaurant being so busy we'd been there a while and I was pretty hungry. Everyone in the family had been there before. Have not been there in the last little bit but this is a no brained. It is always a good food and amazing service place to go. It is a bit pricier but worth every penny. The bar has a nice happy hour with great bartenders and they always have great specials as well. Been going there for 30 plus years and they still don't miss a step. read more

Total disappointment. Truly devastated that this place has just changed so much. Whenever I'm in town I crave the Cobb salad that has been a mainstay of me and many friends I know. It's half the size of what it used to be. The old salads used to be generous with all the veggies chopped up. My girlfriends ordered salmon salad. Same deal. Great birthday dinner with friends at Trio Bistro. Had a booth for 6 of us, so it was "cozy" but that's ok, we were all friends. Although it was a Sunday evening I guess we were having "too much" fun as the table behind us constantly turned and peered over the booth to our table with an awkward glare. I don't think we were outrageous, just the occasional laugh of lively conversation. Maybe Sunday eve is better left for the quiet subdued crowd, but oh well, the food was good. Service was very attentive and provided timely refills on drinks, and clearing of plates. Bread to the table quickly along with soups and salads of first course. (We split a wedge, which was nicely done) Entrees were prepared well and everyone enjoyed their food. From burgers, to flatbread pizza, to chicken and veal, all were tasty and filling. We didn't have dessert so can't comment on those. Outside of the feeling of 'being in 'their' restaurant and being too loud" the atmosphere was nice, food was good, and service attentive. Cozy place for dinners, the server was attentive and the seafood and steak were great especially the chilean sea bass which was cooked perfectly. Nice wine selections as well. The only unfortunate thing happened was when I asked for a hot sauce the server handed me this bottle and not fully warning me the level of hotness. I almost choked and burned my throat! I've heard that this place has been around forever so wanted to try. Looks like a seniors center with the old menu to match. Bland mashed potatoes, overcooked vegetables, average drinks from the bar. Reminds my of an old country club on its way downhill. Nothing innovative or memorable. The tuna appetizer looked nice, but was so unbalanced- so much avocado and a tiny bit of tuna, and had no seasoning to make the avocado- the majority of the dish stand out. Menu and interior could use a big update, and our server wasn't the best, and the manager who stopped by was one of the oddest most awkward people I've dealt with in a while. There's too many other great options around to come back here any time soon. read more

I dined here a few years ago and was reluctant to return. Some friends convinced me to give Trio and second chance. I was delightfully surprised. While the crab cakes had mostly filling, the filet mignon was divine and the wine selection was decent. The show stopper was the rich chocolate flourless cake; so rich that it was plenty for 4 people were satisfied after splitting it. I had the filet mignon with an appetizer of sliders was good food. Service was good everything was really good. My wife had the onion soup was good with a tiramisu martini which also was very good. We had the double chocolate cake which was also very good but, very rich. We split the cake so, for us it was just right. read more

I hadn't visited Trio in the last 5-10 years, but we decided to stop there as we left Kenwood Town Center recently. I had fond memories of the food and atmosphere there, so we both looked forward to a great experience. Boy, were we disappointed! We felt the prices were very high. However, we are ok with paying a little more for quality food and service. Unfortunately the food was mediocre at best, and downright bad in some respects. I opted for the two mini burgers and a wedge salad as my meal. The burgers were very good and, although priced pretty high, a decent value. My wedge salad just fell flat. The lettuce didn't strike me as particularly fresh, I didn't like the dressing, which had very little flavor, and the cherry tomatoes were not at their ripe best. It was certainly edible, but rather mediocre. My wife got the margherita flatbread pizza, and it was terrible. The first one they brought us was burned to a crisp. Literally any of the crust you could see was totally black. We sent it back without even tasting it. Their second try took much too long to arrive and it had wayyyyyy too much garlic -- to the point that it burned our mouths. Within seconds the middle was soggy and wouldn't hold ingredients. And the tomatoes were just sloppily plopped on top of the pizza. We were very disappointed in our experience at Trio and probably will not return. Oh well, lesson learned. read more

Have been going since their doors opened. Has always been my family's go to. Food and service have always been excellent. However, as far as Ambiance is concerned, I've never understood why they've never frosted every window halfway up to block out the parking lot that is viewed from each and every window. It destroys the elegance of its interior. And they list their sound level as "MODERATE ", which couldn't be further from the truth. So loud one can't hear the person next to them. These are easy fixes. Hopefully someone looks into. read more

A gift card was burning a hole in my pocket so my husband and I took advantage after running nearby errands to stop for a late lunch at Trio Bistro on a Saturday afternoon. We were seated right away and the staff was super attentive, bringing us water and menus, taking our drink order and letting us know about the specials. We each opted for large lunch salads -- he had the Cobb and I had the fried chicken salad - both were delicious, nicely dressed and very generous. Trio Bistro is likely one of our favorite restaurants. We had our rehearsal dinner there and it was perfect. Carla was wonderful to work with and made everything as easy as possible. Our food and service was great the entire evening and they even nicely packed up extra wine for us at the end of the night to enjoy later. We came back for our one year anniversary this year and the food and service was once again great. The shrimp bruschetta and scallops were fantastic. And the truffle fries are amazing.
