Below is a review I wrote about Blue Dot, a Triple E competitor. It is relevant to Triple E, so I'm reposting here. THANKS Triple E! When our unit (only 5 yrs. old and a Carrier Infinity system) would not blow cold air, we called Blue Dot to come out and provide a diagnosis. They checked it out for $79, which is in the standard range for the industry. The tech said the compressor was not working and that the refrigerant level was extremely low. He then informed me that I needed to pay for an additional nitrogen leak check. This is also common practice in the industry. However, the tech said the nitrogen leak check would cost $808 (Triple E Heating and Air charges $69 for the SAME leak check!), and that would just enable him to tell what was really wrong, presumably a leak somewhere in the system. Again, it is standard practice in the industry to charge for additional tests; the issue the price. Skipping some details here, he ultimately told me to expect paying a total of around $5,000 for the repair, at which time he encouraged me to consider a replacement, suggesting that by the time I paid that much for a repair, it would be better to get a new system that I could be confident in. At the time it seemed to me that a central part of Blue Dot's business plan was to come in, quote an outrageous repair cost, and then push their customers toward a costly replacement. I wanted to be sure, however, so I called another company, Triple E--a company I had used in the past and had VERY good experiences with. A Triple E tech came in, found the same problems, suggested the $69 nitrogen test, and said that it would likely not make sense to replace an excellent unit like ours that is only 5 yrs. old. Long story short, the grand total I ended up paying for the Triple E repair was under $1000. This was good enough evidence for me to conclude that Blue Dot jacks their repair related cost up to push customers to spend even more on a replacement. This is unjust. You owe it to yourself to avoid Blue Dot and call Triple E. read more

My wife and I have been EEE club members for the past few years and have always felt the service and club membership were worthwhile and excellent. The technicians are courteous, helpful, and able to explain their work in ways I can understand. Today I came home (it's the beginning on January) and my house was freezing. My furnace wasn't working, the back of my house smelled like gas, and my pets were cold (& so was I!) To top it off, an ice storm was about to hit Baltimore City where I live. Brittany, who works at the front desk answering calls and making appointments, did everything she could to help me. She calmed my nerves, made sure I got an appointment ASAP, and didn't get fazed or angry when I called her three times (I was a tad panic-y about the situation!) Mike went WAY above and beyond for my family today. He braved the ice storm to add an emergency visit to his already busy calendar to fix my furnace (the ignitor was broken). He also took time to explain to us what happened and how likely it was to happen again, given the age and condition of our furnace. We decided to get a new furnace and AC installed and feel that the price was VERY reasonable and the scheduling was painless. Mike even waived the cost of our visit today since we'll be getting a new furnace installed in a couple of weeks. His customer service was unparalleled. In addition to being a really great technician, he is a very warm and friendly person. I was feeling scared today and he knew exactly what to say to make me feel better about the situation. If I could give these guys 100 stars I would. I had been dealing with 2 separate repair people associated with my warranty company for over a month in June due to a broken AC unit. The other 2 companies Greendian and Climate Masters are complete frauds. Greendian said my condenser was broken... which it wasn't. They wouldn't call back for 2 weeks. Climate Masters completely damaged my HVAC coils and wouldn't come back. We were facing a nightmare with a broken ac which was made worse by the two incompetent ac repair companies. After a month of heat and humidity in Baltimore with 2 young kids not sleeping, we called Triple E due to the good reviews they received on Yelp. The reviews were all true and accurate. The first technician came out on Sunday and throughly surveyed the system and tested for leaks. Mike from the company called on Monday, and took on the task of working with Carrier AC to replace my AC coils. My AC was still under warranty, but not registered. He worked it out and saved me $3000 dollars. Mario came out on Tuesday and replaced the coils, now my AC is finally working after a month of not working. They fixed it in 2 days when 2 others couldn't fix in a month. Throughout the process, everyone was super helpful and professional. They explained everything they were doing and had nothing to hide. Prices were very reasonable to the work. We signed up for the triple e club immediately. I just want to say thank you to the whole Triple E team for everything. I am so appreciative for everything Triple E helped us with. I am a customer for life. read more

My house, 33 years old... the HVAC unit is the original. I've owned it for 20 of those years.. As of course, the year from hell...2020 strikes!! I lost my job, no income and no savings... the unit finally died. I was at a loss! I didn't know where to turn, who to trust. I searched Google....and what to my wandering eyes, I found Triple E. From the initial contact, getting a new unit, help with getting the job financed, to the installation and the follow-up after care....WOW! They ROCKED IT! These guys have been FAN-FREAKING-TASTIC! They called me a few days ago, offered to come out to do a free inspection, make sure that the unit was working properly. I was able to get appointment within 48 hours. The technician was here on time, respectful, polite. He asked how everything has been going? If I had any issues with the equipment? I told him things were great. He asked if I've seen a drop in my energy bill? Which I have! He changed the air filter and made sure everything was running the way it is supposed to. 3-10-16 Had no A/C when I turned it on for the first time this Spring. Called EEE and they had someone here within 3 hours. The repairs were done quickly and the tech, Mike, was very friendly and knowledgeable. These guys have done great work for me consistently! I continue to recommend them! I've used EEE twice this year for service on my HVAC system and they've been fantastic. They return calls promptly, schedule service at convenient times, and show up when they say they're going to show up. Devin and Damon came to my home, assessed the problem, and later came back to do the repairs. Both times they were polite, knowledgeable, and quite competent. These 2 young men did great work and I haven't had a problem since they repaired my furnace. EEE is lucky to have them. I've worked in the home building industry for 23 years, so I know what quality service looks like. These guys are true professionals. I also recommend joining the EEE Club. With that service, not only do I get priority service, but I also get discounts on future work. Well worth it. I hate giving bad reviews but this unfortunately points to the fact that it's good to get a second opinion when you're in doubt. Our gas furnace went out on Friday night before thanksgiving and by Sunday night we couldn't get anyone to answer to look at it. Monday morning Triple E called back at 8 and said someone could come out at 10, great! Mario came out and was very nice and for a reasonable diagnostic fee he said it was our gas valve and I would be getting an emailed quote for repair same day. The quote was for an entirely new system (due to our unit being "obsolete" as they called it) for $18,900! I looked up all of the parts and found that they cost $8,000, so there upcharge and labor would be $10,900 No Way! We did some digging on our own to find the recommended part was not the issue and for $115 we bought an ignitor control panel, installed it ourselves and our unit is working perfectly. I hate to assume they were trying to pull one over on us since it was cold and we had family coming for the holidays but an incorrect diagnosis and an overinflated price tag could have cost us $18,900 instead of $115, glad we went with our guts! read more

Two years ago my AC unit needed a shot of Freon. It had gone out overnight (Friday night) and although I had a contract with BGE Home, they couldn't come out for over a week. I found Triple E was only a few minutes from my home and called them to see if there was any chance someone could come to refill our system. I was told someone would be here between 2-4pm. At 1pm the owner (Mike) showed up and said his guy was running late so he decided to do it himself. How great is that. This year I decided to get a new AC/Furnace. I got quotes from three sources including Triple E. Although not the least expensive I choose them because of that great service call. After I had signed for the new system we had a flood caused by the old system. Mike came out, found out the issue and fixed it and said the call was included in his new system install price. His team showed up 30 minutes early today and have worked hard to get our system up and running. Total time elapsed has been about 4 hours and they're about an hour or so away from being done. Efficient, courteous and professional. What more could I ask for? read more

WoW! This company is impressive! From start to finish we have been thrilled. Mike came out to "quote" us. But, it became a bit more than that. We were pretty set on going with a different manufacturer however, after talking about our options with Mike, we went in a completely different direction. Mike was able to explain to us the differences between multiple units and the pros and cons of each. It helped us make an educated decision, one that is very large financially, but what was best for us. I'm certainly glad that we did. The units are smooth, they're super quiet. And best of all they're extremely energy-efficient. The installation process was amazing! Both Mario and Anthony came out and got the job done in one day, ONE day! We have two 17.5's SEER units and they were able to install them in one day. It made for a great experience all around. I would highly recommend this group. Stop shopping now! Middle of a heat wave and the A/C starts failing. I called Triple E after business hours and still spoke to a human being immediately, who took down all of my information and the basics of what was going on. Within ten minutes, I received a call from a tech, Mario, who listened patiently to my spiel, and suggested trying a few things that could address the problem. He said to call back the next day if the system was still struggling. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a system defect, which we found out when Triple E came out, but I was amazed that they sent out a tech within 2 hours of my calling back. I loved that I got text updates confirming the appointment and when the tech was on his way. Troy answered all of our questions and explained everything clearly, despite it being after 5pm by the time he was done. Not cheap since we'd lost so much refrigerant to the leak, but we're very satisfied - and no longer sweating!! Definitely will be return customers. read more

My tenant called me around 5pm letting me know the heat was not working. When I called Triple E I originally planned on getting someone to the house that night. They explained the cost of after hours and reassured me that I could wait until the following day. I called back in the morning to request an appointment for after 4:15 so my tenant could be there, the communication was easy and effortless. I was nervous all day about what was going to happen, I got a txt letting me know they were on their way. Once the job was done I received a phone call that explained the issue in full detail and they even included a one year membership that would include 2 services at a 20% discount as well as wave the $89 diagnostic fee. The membership was extremely reasonable and because I had to have some more work done the next week this membership could be applied for the next job. Hottest day of the year (98 degrees) and the air coming through the vents is room temperature. 84 in the house. Talked with my choice of HVAC company, Triple E at 8:07AM. Troy arrived at 12:10PM as promised (between 12 and 2). Full system examination. Found electrical problem in outdoor AC unit. Fixed it. Tested system. Troy explained what had happened and showed me the source of the problem. All in working order. Air blowing cold again. House-call and repair cost: $55.20. Would have been 20% more, but I'm a member of the Triple E Service Contract club. $159 per year for a spring and a fall full examination. Members also get the 20% discount AND priority service appointments. Just join it, folks. Before retiring, I investigated businesses in Maryland for proper and honest practices for a government agency. Triple E has my "Seal of Approval." It's not just the price, it's the value of service and the trained staff. read more

I recently had Mike and his crew replace my furnace and AC units. I researched and interviewed four possible service providers and Mike was extremely professional from the first estimate to the final inspection. The price quoted was very reasonable and I received the written, and very detailed, estimate by email that same afternoon. The crew arrived on time and was very respectful of my home and me. Any questions or concerns were addressed promptly and efficiently. Mario stayed till way past "quitting time" to make sure I was satisfied and comfortable. Mike even came out personally and did a final inspection of the units and showed me how to change the furnace filter. Their communication is great. I had been enduring flooding problems with my furnace for 2 years since it was installed. The original installer came out repeatedly and never solved the problem. Finally this year, I decided I'd find someone else to fix it. I called half a dozen HVAC companies and was told it would take weeks before they could address it. Finally one company owner who had been in the business for 40 years came over but couldn't figure out the problem. I called Triple E and Michael Ewing, the 2nd generation owner, came out the next morning, walked in to our furnace room and said - I already see your problem. It was fixed in 20 minutes. They charged a tiny fraction of the estimate I had received. These guys rock! They are the only ones I will use going forward for my HVAC needs. Look no further. read more

I moved back into my house after a 3 year tour abroad to find that neither of my air conditioning units were working properly. One was out of freon (for the second time in 5 years) and due to the very high cost of freon these days I decided to pursue a replacement path for that one. The second unit was only short one pound of freon and had an issue with the wiring that was exposed to the elements. Mario was able to trace back the wiring issue to my thermostat, rewire the area that was damaged, and took the time to wrap the exposed wire very securely to avoid a repeat of this situation. He was punctual, professional, and affordable. He was very patient and helped me learn a lot about my systems that I did not know. I highly recommend him. read more

Had an amazing experience with Triple E Heating and Air! The technician, Anthony, who came was extremely courteous and friendly. He found the source of the problem very quickly and fixed it. There were no extra fees or hidden charges. He gave me very honest and helpful advice regarding my problem (bad breaker in outside disconnect box) and gave me an estimate of how much it would cost for an electrician to come fix it. He even took time to teach me how to install the breaker so I could save money. Within minutes of solving the problem, I was enjoying the cool air of a working AC. Overall, I was very satisfied with Anthony and Triple E. If I have any more heating or air problems in the future, I would not hesitate to contact them again! read more

Dwayne just left and we have air conditioning back! After waiting a week for another company, only to find out they never put us on the schedule, I called Triple E to see if anybody could come out before the long weekend. Brittany was pleasant and scheduled us in for later in the day. Dwayne called to say he was on the way, and I received multiple texts with confirmations and updates. Less than an hour later, the air conditioner was fixed and he showed me exactly what he did and what it cost from his upfront pricing binder. I really appreciated the pricing, as I wasn't left wondering if there was an upcharge hidden somewhere! He was courteous and got everything done quickly. It's extremely rare that I take the time to write reviews about anything. However this is my second review of Triple E Heating and Air. So why the five stars? - At the time of spring maintenance call Mario discovered one of 2 heat pump's compressor was dying on me - In 30 minutes I received phone call from Mike, the owner, informing me heat pump was on warranty, it's replacement wouldn't cost me a penny - He kept me informed all along the way - Crew showed up on time on the day of the install - The techs, Kirby and Antony, were professional and efficient - Job done right. Mike was very helpful and accommodating. When our original appointment time had to be postponed because of my job he offered to come Saturday but kindly waived the weekend fee. He explained diagnostic results carefully before doing the repair. He offered a maintainance plan but there was no hard sell and not a hint of deception or exaggeration. I asked on top of our furnace repair for an estimate about AC replacement and he was sincere about options and again didn't try to coerce or manipulate me. Got a quote from a major company prior to coming to Tripple E (their name rimes with Ben the plumber) and was quoted between 20-30k for heat pump and air handler!!! my family was freezing over the weekend with all the snow so I called Tripple E and I was greeted with kindness and solutions. Troy came out a few hours later and immediately checked my filter and it was clogged! replaced it and now we are toasty! I still need to get a new heat pump and handler and triple e quoted me way less! THANK YOU SO MUCH TRIPPLE E AND TROY! your honesty has been nothing but amazing and you guys are awseome.
