Love this Chinese food restaurant. I am a huge crab Rangoon fanatic and this is one of the places that I would highly recommend. Their crab Rangoon's are not oily which is a big deal for me, and they are stuffed with a lot of cream cheese which is also another important thing. I love that they are fried perfectly and not too burnt, with the right amount of crisp. I also got their cashew chicken combination platter which included an appetizer and a side of rice. I got the pork fried rice and chicken teriyaki. This was a good portion and they filled the entire box. I would come here again! read more

I called to ask a very basic question about whether rice comes with the entrees or not. The entire conversation was laughable because I must have repeated the question 13 times. The answer I got was that if I order a large entree that rice will come with it. So I asked if I ordered a small entree would rice come with it? Apparently no. Delicious chicken and steak teriyaki, Tried them twice and never dry. Very juicy and full of flavor. Boneless ribs and chicken fingers okay to. Now their rice a little on the dry side and lacking flavor. The lobster sauce was the kind made with egg yolks and not ground pork so that was a no for me. On July 5 I ordered food, I drive 30 miles because the place close to hone was closed and I'm particular about my Chinese food, the lobster sauce was not good and runny and the chicken fingers very small, I called the owner the very next morning at opening and he admitted he cooked that I would have a credit w/my phone number on the wall. The next time I was in the area six weeks later I decided to use the credit and specifically came in person to avoid explaining on phone, get here tell them they call the owner and he tells them to give me a $5 credit (the original food was $18). I ordered because I had my mind set on Chinese but definitely will not be coming back, I should have been given an $18 credit; if I knew it was a $5 credit I would not have ordered $30 worth but like I said I had my mind set on Chinese.Lost customer and the lady at counter didn't care as I told her let him know I would be leaving a negative review. I knew when it came time to get the credit it would be an issue or not honored, owner fully aware I drive a distance to come here (only come when in area but drove from home that night and was sure to tell him that in the call). read more

I am Chinese and live in Jamaica Plain. I love authentic Chinese and I like Chinese American food every once in a while. When I order takeout I order from Triple. Triple's CA food is above average for food around here. All their food is not that bad - chicken wings, beef teriyaki, chicken teriyaki, boneless spare ribs, scallion pancakes, etc, etc, and it's fresh. The CA fast food restaurants in JP is terrible. Thank god I found Triple Eatery. Couple of negative - I always order lobster sauce with my meal. The last few times the lobster sauce lacked meat, it was mostly gravy. Before their lobster sauce was pretty good and meaty, but not lately. And, as another reviewer has said, their General Tso's Chicken is mostly dough with very little meat but the sauce that goes with it is pretty good. Don't forget to tip the drivers! I always tip the same amount as if I was in a restaurant, at least 18% if not more. From the driver's face when I give them tip, they seemed very surprised and grateful. Finally!!! A good crab rangoon!!! After an unfortunate incident at another local chinese place I thought I was done with this cuisine. However Triple Eatery saved me from a wontonless life. Their crab rangoon actually had crab in it! it was creamy and crunchy not too greasy. Their General Tso's was crispy and tender and not completely drowned in the sauce. My only complaint is that the rice that came with the General Tso's was too small. All the other portions were huge! For $20 me and my boyfriend each had two complete meals. I have patronized this restaurant for over a decade, but the food I ordered from them last night was probably the worst food I've ever eaten from their place. Granted it was a very busy night and the turnaround time was quick, they didn't take the time to cook the food properly. I ordered a pupu platter, fried rice, and sesame chicken. What wasn't undercooked (doughy chicken fingers) was overcooked (tough ribs). The rice was inexplicably a yellow/brown color and tasted horrible. I'm all set with that spot. This place is pretty standard americanized chinese food. Egg rolls, teriyaki sticks, fried rice, lo mein, etc. They've got all the standard fare you'd expect, at standard prices. I really don't have anything to elaborate on, other than they've got a parking lot, they deliver and it's really tiny and gross inside (you don't want to eat there). Plus: I've never gotten food poisoning from them. The guys/gals that work the counter aren't really the friendliest in the world, they're down to business and don't take it personal if they ignore you for 5 minutes while they finish up whatever they're doing - phone call, bagging stuff up, yakking to the cook in the back. When it comes to delivery Chinese, Triple Eatery can't be beat. Sure, lots of other places have some game, but these guys are in a class of their own. To be fair, I've never set foot in the place and probably never will. But that's exactly the point, right? When I order, it shows up fast. Like, really fast. Sometimes as fast at 15-20 minutes. Nice. And the food is great. Their Singapore Rice Sticks are my favorite in the city. Pure greatness. Their peking dumplings are not the best, but they recently seem to have changed the recipe for those, so I'll be ordering them a few more times to see how my opinion changes. All in all, just solid Chinese take out that leaves you happy and content with no grossness factor whatsoever. That's a win. On top of that, their prices are great compared to some other local joints and their service is STELLAR. The one time I had an issue, they literally apologized on the phone for 5 minutes straight and offered me a future free delivery meal. Wonderful large portions that don't skimp on higher-end ingredients. Family Style Tofu is a fave: they special order it for me because if my aversion to broccoli and it's terrific. Two of us can eat well (with leftovers!) for less than 15 bucks: unheard of these days outside of Burger King or MacDonald's! My only gripe: wish they'd use more authentic Chinese vegetables but they claim their public likes the Americanized versions of traditional dishes. I'm pretty certain rat poop was in my house rice. Duck sauce had foreign particles of unknown substance but looked like either a maggot or grain of rice I'm still freaked out I paid this close attention but I couldn't help myself after rat poop rice. It's just amazing how grimy & dirty aprons on the cooks are, I think they stay in business because most of their business is delivery because the more I went inside the more attention I paid and saw SO much dirty, that is NOT a good thing in any restaurant. Prices are excellent compared to any in Rosi and coupons for free items after spending a certain amount I never see anywhere but I simply will not go back, like EVER! This used to be my favorite Chinese takeout restaurant and I regularly ordered from it for about eight years. However, over the past six months or so, the quality of the food has gone downhill. It's changed many of the meats (chicken especially) from quality fresh meats to inexpensive breaded frozen meats. Veggie quality has also changed (broccoli should be green and not yellow). None of the cooks seem to care about taste. I ordered Shrimp With Garlic Sauce, and it didn't have garlic or any spice at all--super bland! Also, several recently ordered dishes were so dry and had very little sauce (Beef With Broccoli and Cashew Chicken). Personally I found Triple Eatery to be very tasty. I usually go to Dragon Star in Brookline (Washington Square) but didn't want to make the trip. Found Triple Eatery online and stepped out on a whim. Black beans were in the lobster sauce - a plus. Non greasy crab rangoon filled just right. The rice was nicely flavored and had enough extras in it so you didn't feel cheated. And the shrimp! Triple Eatery doesn't use those teeny canned shrimp like other places. Their shrimp are teenagers! Not fully grown but not infants. A nice surprise. I would definitely go there again. Triple Eatery is the best place in Roslindale for Chinese. Fast, always consistent, and tasty. In fact, they are so consistent that I felt confident to branch out and try new Chinese dishes - I never knew Hunan beef/chicken/shrimp was so awesome!
