Joe explained chimney caps to me like I was five years old, in the most respectful way. He explained how the chimney would need two caps because usually the furnace vents through the chimney. He explained how to check for myself in the basement. He was right. He also explained the chimney crown and that it needed to be replaced. I wondered how he could know that since no one climbed to the chimney during the estimate. I asked for pictures before the work started. The crown had cracks but served the house well for 80 years. He was right again. His team showed up, explained the scope of work, gently moved our plants out of the way, and got to work. We also had several bricks that needed to be replaced. That required the team to remove the broken brick, spread mortar, and install new bricks. They match the house well. I napped in front of the fireplace while they worked. I could only hear light tapping from the brick removal process. They sent photos while the work was in progress. Great photos that I will share with you below. Joe and his team exceeded my expectations. They had to add a new and wide liner, fix the deteriorating staccato, ensured that there was no chance of carbon monoxide and of course the cap. It was well worth the investment. The first appointment I had there was a scheduling mishap so the woman that took my call offered to deploy an emergency weekend team but I opted to reschedule for the next week.
