Unobtrusive little place, with stunningly good food. Stopped there on our way from Key West to Miami. I highly recommend the fish tacos, they were truly the best I've ever had. This place definitely has some unique options from a lot of the Keys seafood places around, with a strong Italian twist (which is certainly hinted at in the name), so if that's what you're looking for then I'd definitely recommend coming here. To be honest we wouldn't have chosen to come here at all- we had picked another place originally for dinner but it ended up being closed and there weren't many other options by that time.. The service was a little slow honestly, my group of 3 were the only ones in there when we came. We were sat down and ordered already 15-20 minutes before another couple came in, and they received their food way before us and were constantly fussed on by the waiters and we probably had half the service, it was just really weird. But, once we did get our food the chef came out himself and introduced and talked to each table there so that was cool. I enjoyed the food overall. Give me seafood and pasta and I'll be pretty happy, and that's exactly what I got here. I think I got the shrimp fra diavolo? It was very spicy and I liked that, and the catch of the day my dad ordered was probably the best of our 3 dishes. The key lime pie was for sure the most unique, odd KLP I've tried. It almost had more of a rice pudding texture, and it certainly has a most different look, but it still had a really nice key lime kick so I was okay with it. This was not a good dining experience. I had been looking for a seafood break and thought Italian would be perfect. The server was very friendly and nice. I hope she finds employment in a place more befitting . That and the starter salads were the best things about the restaurant. The small salad that comes with the entrees was a mixed greens base. The blue cheese dressing was very cheesy. It took a very long time to get our food. We were told twice it would be out shortly. And then we were checked on by another lady too who asked what we'd ordered. A couple that came in a half hour after us ate and were leaving while we were just starting our entrees. I'd ordered chicken Marsala. This dish doesn't usually have onions nor were they mentioned on the menu. I'd had my salad without onions. So I was surprised to find a ton of onions in the sauce -- more than the mushrooms -- all over my chicken and sadly mixed into my pasta, I scraped off the sauce and ate the chicken. The pasta was inedible as it was gummy and mushy. My husband had ordered their lasagna. He said it was just okay. It was chewy, not much meat, and kind of bland. We asked for the check. Before we had pulled out our credit card to pay, they'd rung up our bill including a fee for paying with a credit card. We asked about it. There's no notice on the door or the menu and no one said anything about it in advance. The server told us they'd just starting doing this. That if we went to the bar we could see a small sign by the register!!' WTF! If you go inside, you would be hard pressed to even find the register, let alone the sign. This was just as they say : Adding insult to injury, I had my husband pull through McDonald's afterwards. That should tell you all you need to know. read more

Im giving it 5 stars because it truly was the best food we ate in the week that we stayed in Marathon. The blackened chicken in the alfredo sauce was done perfectly and seasoned well. We all had Italian dishes (cannelloni, alfredo, marinara, vodka sauce and pizza) and none of us were disappointed. The service was great as well. The building looks old but I recommend looking past that and try some delicious and fresh Italian dishes!! read more

This was the kind of dining experience where you were glad you stopped in because it was dead and your grateful to help a small business owner survive these tough times. You know your party of 8 will land a nice tip to your server who deserves it! I wish the food had been better, and it wasn't bad, it was just average, hence the 3 stars. We ordered several orders of garlic bread and they were good. I tried the Snapper Francese and my honey got the Grouper Al Funghi. I had food envy of his Grouper and wished I ordered it to. So this is really a Spanish place masquerading as an Italian place. The music, ambiance and the cuisine have solid spanish flair about them. Don't get me wrong I love a great spanish place but I wanted Italian. The "baby octopus" salad... it should be called the bean salad with a few strips of adult octopus on it. It was a tasty bean salad but not a $17 good bean salad. After that we were scared to risk anything and played it safe with a pizza. The pizza was good. Crust was nice and the texture of the dough was good and the cook was complete. I thought toppings were as expected in quantity and composition. It was served nice and hot. Iced tea was a little watery but not over sugary. Service: The server was super polite and came by about every 2 minutes... :/ food was delivered in an acceptable time. All in all it was less than we were expecting and not likely on our do over list. In a pinch the pizza is way better than frozen supermarket pizza. Sorry no pics. All I've had is crab Pizza here, and unfortunately the last two times haven't been as good as 2019 when we first got it. It appears there's plenty of crab, but I think they're using regular crab vice the stronger seafood flavor of blue crab they used to use.. They also don't have arugula as an optional topping anymore. I was surprised at how empty the place was, given that many of the other restaurants in Marathon we had visited in the preceding 2 weeks were packed full every day of the week. It is a bit further out from the center of town than most, but it is worth the effort to get there. We had Hog Fish Ciciliano, Prosecco Bruit (a special of the day), and Tiramisu. The Hog Fish was really good. The Prosecco at $8.50/glass was a nice change of pace from the Pino Gregio we would otherwise have had. The only slight disappointment was the Tiramisu. The consistency was spot on, and the portion size was ample, but the taste just wasn't there. It definitely needed more coffee flavor. read more

Pizza was the best many years ago. We ordered pizza from them while staying in marathon repeatedly over the years. I ordered a pizza and called wife and told her to pick it up. They gave her three pizza and said that is what I ordered. At home I told my wife I only ordered one pizza. We took them back. They dropped one and gave to another customer. Miss Michelle was an absolute doll. We had a party of 16 with a lot of little kids. Michelle was amazing. She was very kind and patient and she was so funny and lovely. I miss her already. We had a great time as a family and to have a server being so nice makes it so much better. The food was really good as well. That's important to know as well. I had the crab cakes dinner. Delicious! The conch fitters are to die for and the calamari was so good. My little 5 year old nephew ate all the calamari lol my Dad had the chicken parm dinner and he liked it so much. Let me start by saying that me and my wife were a little skeptical about this place, but this place is the real deal. The calamari was fresh & crispy!(wow) & the pasta was al dente! Creamy and flavorful! The shrimp were fresh and very good. The French fries you can tell they cut them in house! Overall the atmosphere was good, the only downside we had was that our server wasn't the friendliest. I was going to give it a 4 star because of that but the food made up for her bad service. We have enjoyed some great meals in Marathon this week, then we ate here tonight. To be kind the Sauvignon Blanc was great! The food was mediocre at best. My lasagna was bland and chewy. My wife ordered Chicken Marsala which was drenched in chopped onions in the marsala and the chewy pasta was also saturated in onions.... my wife doesn't eat onions. (45 minutes to get these two dishes from the kitchen and they weren't that busy). When we had finished and our check was delivered, I noticed a NONCASH ADJUSTMENT CHARGE (2%) added to our bill. When questioned, our server stated that "he" just started the additional charge last week for credit charges. If we wanted to pay cash she could take it off. Now here's the interesting part: The check had been rung, including the NONCASH ADJUSTMENT, and brought to the table BEFORE I even pulled out my wallet, and before I pulled out my credit card. My wife pointed out there was no visible notification posted anywhere and our server said that there was a sign at the bar register. She also stated "he" is having new menus printed next week. This is an unexpected find in Marathon. This corky little Italian restaurant has more of a neighborhood restaurant vibe than the typical "touristy" fish sandwich and pizza restaurant that seem to be the norm in this area. The food is solid, my favorite is the pasta pescatore, full of shrimp and muscles, clams and fish. Their conch fritters are the best in the Keys. Instead of a round gooey ball, they offer a flat, crispy patty of fritter that is the bomb. This place is a definite must try! read more

If you are in marathon in the Florida keys I haughty recommend Tritons!! HUGE portions and reasonably priced. I had the snapper livornese . Huge fish portions and love the sauce, capers and Kalamata olives. All entrees came with a salad, veggies and rice. The garlic knots were delicious and the conch ceviche was perfect. Lots of conch. Before I give my full review it is nice to have a restaurant accept debit credit cards after the hurricane that demolished the area. This is why I gave this place 4 stars Can't say it was extra extraordinary what I would say is that this restaurant is average for lunch. The sandwich was warm not hot the fries was not even warm the chicken was generic and looked like it had just been pulled out of a bag the sauce was average not much on top of the chicken for portion there was very little mozzarella melted on top of the sauce as for the beard it was just a average biggie roll that had been toasted the fries were plain with no seasoning. Meals for lunch were adequate we didn't expect much a bigger lunch menu maybe it could have been better. This is one of those places that you could drive by a hundred times and not stop in, but once you do, you'll keep coming back. It doesn't look fancy on the outside, but the service from Michele and the amazing Italian food and seafood are absolutely outstanding. (In comparison, the next day we went to a highly touted, kitschy Keys well-reviewed seafood restaurant, and it didn't even compare to Triton!) I had the lasagna... it is usually what I order when trying a new Italian place. It's kind of my barometer. :) Michelle added perfectly cooked shrimp to her penne ala vodka. We were both so happy with our choices! We'll definitely be going back in the few weeks we're here, and we've already told a bunch of people about it, too. They have fantastic lunch specials that run until 4 pm, a full bar, and we can't wait to try their desserts when we go back. This is a smaller place not on the water, which is probably why it doesn't get the love it should. Everything we had was amazing!
