While touring Key West with friends, we had the pleasure of finding this restaurant in Sugarloaf Key! We stopped by for a few drinks in the afternoon and met Megan at the hostess podium. My friends and I were seated at the bar outside and we were served delicious fancy drinks. While speaking to residents, we were told that this restaurant has amazing food in the evening. I spoke to Megan and we made a quasi reservation for later that night. We came back for dinner and we're greeted by Megan again!. She seated us at a table and she was our waitress for the evening! Megan was wonderful! She was very attentive and made some great recommendations for food. We had several appetizers, our main course. We also has several drinks. Everything we orders was excellent. Came here on a Monday night and was seated right away without a reservation. The weather was nice so we opted to sit outside. A little darker than expected but it was okay. Our server for the night was good I will say that! Bread was served for the table and although the bread was delicious, the butter it came with was bad. I've never had butter taste like ice/water but imagine like a watered down version of butter... that's why we got. We just ate the bread alone. We ordered the Buffalo Bleu Cheese Brussel Sprouts and the Snail Cargot to start. The Snail Cargot was the worst escargot I've ever had. Dried out, bland and the dried cheese on top? Insulting. Once again -- just ended up eating the bread. The Brussel sprouts on the other hand were great. Not a flavor combo I expected to be good but it really was. This was the best dish of the night. As my entree I ordered the classic Caesar salad and added chicken. My bf ordered the Jerk Chicken Wings. The salad was good, came with a good amount of sauce and the croutons were good. Chicken was good as well. My bf said he liked the wings he had, but I didn't personally try them. He said they were good, not great. All in all, this place's specialty seems to be the bread. Other than that I wasn't very impressed. If I came back I would probably just order the Brussel sprouts again and that's it. read more

Inside and outside dining, we dined outside since the weather was nice. Our server was friendly and gave us our menus, and took our drink order right away. I had the chicken sandwich and my husband had the fish and chips. This was a very interesting evening. First off. We showed up with no reservation, just wanted to set the stage. After waiting about 15 minutes we got a table, in what looked like a bit overwhelmed restaurant. Three of us and one 7 year old. Server was quick to get waters and drinks, but then things stalled, big time . An hour after we ordered, still no food. Our server was pretty great, comped us an extra bottle of wine and expedited my granddaughters dinner . Much appreciated. When our food finally arrived everything was great. So, I understand that everyone has a bad day once in a while, and it's how you address the shortfalls that defines you. These guys did pretty well. I was told that this is a foodies restaurant. I am not one to post negative reviews about restaurants and I hate to complain. But I ordered the catch of the day which was grouper, it was extremely tough and ribber and did not flake apart at all...terrible! While the server was very good, they did not apologize or comp the meal, instead they brought out a huge heavy piece of bread pudding, it was supposed to be a Keylime dessert but it was just a heavy brick is bread and cream. It was obvious that the fish was not cooked properly or was it was not fresh grouper. Either way they should have comped me the meal. I will say that my husband's seafood pasta meal was very good. We sat outside where there are thank goodness huge umbrellas because if the sun was beating down you would be cooked. The appetizer was octopus. The best I've ever had!! Very tender. Boyfriend loved it and it was the first time he's had it. We shared the lobster flat bread. Good but I've decided that spiney lobster is not my favorite. It's got to be in something to camouflage the flavor. Shared the seafood Alfredo that had shrimp, clams and mussels. Yummy! And plenty for the two of us. Service was good! read more

While the food itself was good, the service completely ruined the experience. We waited 45 minutes before our waitress finally came back to the table, only to tell us it would be another 8-10 minutes. After that, only half of our table's food arrived--and then another 20 minutes passed with nothing else coming out. At that point, the other half of our table gave up and left. The manager did comp the meal, which we appreciated, but unfortunately the snide and unnecessary comments from the wait staff afterward made the situation worse and felt unprofessional. Good food isn't enough to make up for extremely poor service and an uncomfortable atmosphere. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience. read more

The Bent Prop has obviously worked hard to take its place among top restaurants on or near Cudjoe Key. Their food has been consistently super good, every time we go there with friends. The wait staff are great and some have been there a while. It's a solid option. We love the crispy buffalo chicken sandwich, the kids chicken tenders, burgers, wings and a lot of their main menu options are delish! The lobster entree was to die for. Keep it up BP!!! read more

Been here a few times and seems it has been going down hill and after this last visit on New Year's we won't be coming back. We ordered our food and after an hour of waiting we were told that they had run out of the steaks and needed to order something else. We were asked, by I believe the manager if we were locals or just visitors and when we said locals he was caught off guard. Our waiter was pleasant at was trying his best to be accommodating but it was difficult for the poor guy. Sorry Bent Prop you have lost a customer. read more

An absolute 10/10 experience! My husband and I have a 9 month old and a 2 year old and the staff was so friendly and accommodating. We sat outside and enjoyed the live music, or you can opt for the cool a/c and dine inside. There's also a great indoor/outdoor bar to go and enjoy an ice cold drink and hang out. The food was some of the best we've had in the keys! We shared the wedge salad which was phenomenal and I had the coconut encrusted snowy grouper special and it knocked my socks off. The owner was there and was so friendly and there were a few nice ladies who were regulars that were so friendly and sweet with our boys. We can't wait to go back! read more

I gave such a good review earlier but after have one VERY HIGH priced dinner and another day trying to come back for apps I have to say the chef will be the reason they do not do well. Not willing to make any changes or simply cheesy fries - who can't make cheesy fries. You already have it on the menu for happy hour. The dinner also takes. FOREVER! I hate this but they need more time and a chef that at least makes what is on the menu and is willing to make simple things for customers read more

A gem of a restaurant and a must visit when you are down in the Lower Keys. Most authentic Maryland crab soup you'll find anywhere outside of the Chesapeake Bay. Wide range of entrées - all fresh food. Their catch of the day is always amazing.
