Updating to say i have now gone back again to Jeff and AGAIN he did an incredible job! From first review: Jeff did an excellent job on my tattoo and fit me in totally last minute as a walk-in. His apprentice was super helpful and kind as well. I lost the Love of my life to cancer, and this particular day of wanting to get my tattoo is significant for 2 different reasons, and I was just having a really, really hard time. I had been wanting to get this tattoo that represents infinite love between two souls for a long time. And as I was feeling really sad, I thought to myself, I wonder if there is a shop that would at all be able to fit me in this last minute on a holiday weekend. I called this shop on a whim, in search of a couple birthday tattoos. Ashely picked up right away and was so sweet and accommodating. She fit me in on an extremely short notice, scheduling me an appointment for the following afternoon. The shop was clean, beautifully decorated, and the artists I met were all hilarious. Ashely used sustainable materials when possible, and even drew up my pieces before my appointment so she could spend the entire appointment tattooing. Tucked away in an unsuspecting part of Santa Cruz, I never expected to find such amazing talent. This was my third tattoo, and honestly I regret not getting my other two here. All of the workers are so kind and funny, and during my almost four hour tattoo session I had some great conversation with my tattoo artist, Drew. Drew absolutely nailed this tattoo, and it was entirely his own creative genius that makes this tattoo my favorite to date. You'd think he had been tattooing for half of his life because of the sheer talent this dude possesses. Days before my appointment with Jeff I sent him reference images and a description of the tattoo I wanted - a snake made of stars. When I arrived for my appointment Jeff was drawing something totally different than what I had requested, a huge winding snake with stars only along its outer edges that made no sense for where I wanted it on my back. This despite the fact I'd already clearly explained the shape I wanted, which he'd completely ignored. While the final tattoo is the right shape, almost everything else about it is amateurish and ugly. The stars themselves are poorly spaced, with many areas having few stars and other areas with dense clumps of stars. The line work is sloppy. Worst of all are the "dots" he filled the snake body in with. I'd sent him a reference image of the types of dots I wanted, which look clean and circular and uniformly spaced. What Jeff did doesn't like dots at all, more like random slashes, like a child had a seizure on my back. I'm seriously embarrassed by this poorly done tattoo and will likely end up spending thousands of dollars getting this garbage covered up. Jeff made virtually no attempt to understand what I wanted and executed the tattoo like an amateur hack who doesn't care about the quality of their work. My advice: stay far, far away. read more

I haven't been tattooed here, but I had to share my experience at Triton a week ago. I went in for a consultation on a possible rework of a tattoo that I'm not 100% satisfied with, and Jeff Noyce came in during an evening off to meet with me. He took care to be respectful of the artist who did the piece, but also patient and thoughtful about my feelings about it. I ended up getting surprisingly emotional, and he, Drew and Dom (who all had to witness my embarrassment) were all so kind and understanding. Dom, who greeted me at the door, is the shop's new apprentice, and she was so friendly and welcoming - big props to her for a great first impression of Triton. And Jeff is clearly an excellent mentor, as he used aspects of my tattoo as a learning experience for her. He was realistic about my expectations, and I really appreciated the time he took to walk through the options with me. His energy is awesome, and I can see why there are so many happy customers here reviewing his work. I'm sure I'll be back for a new piece in the future! I'm so extremly thankful I met Jeff, hes an amazing artist! I had some work done by another artist (see review) and I hated it! By some mircale I met Jeff unexpectedly one day and he gave me his card. A year later I called him and came into his shop, he created a cover up tattoo for me that was just amazing! Jeff hand was very gentle and not heavy at all! I ended up doing another tattoo with him that week too, and bring a friend with me who ended up getting work as well!
