This place is gorgeous with a lovely atmosphere. We sat at the bar. I got a cosmo which was very solid, nice and refreshing without being too sweet. Truffle mafaldine: 4/5. If you love truffle flavor and always feel like people don't add enough, this is the pasta for you. This packs a HUGE truffle punch, perfect for me. You can add a protein to it and I chose ribeye which was cooked to perfection with a good crust. The pasta sauce was a little over salted and the pasta a bit undercooked but I'm going to put that on them being close to closing when we ordered. I'd come back and try it again for sure. Sticky date cake: 4.5/5. This cake was hot, sweet, moist, soft, and absolutely soaked in syrup. The ice cream is the perfect addition and they have like a salted toffee crumble topping that adds a great balance to the dish. Will absolutely be returning.
I recently treated myself to a downtown staycation and decided to kick off my birthday celebration at Trivoli Tavern. I'd dined here before and had such a great experience that I knew I wanted to come back. When I checked for reservations, there weren't any available, so I decided to take my chances as a walk-in. While waiting, I overheard that the wait was about an hour, especially if you wanted to sit outside. Luckily, there was a single stool open at the Lobster Bar, so I was able to grab a seat almost immediately. Sometimes dining solo has its perks! To start, I ordered the Coconut Shrimp, and they were fantastic. They were perfectly crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and paired beautifully with the orange-chili marmalade, which added just the right balance of sweetness and tang. To drink, I had the Harvard Manhattan. It leaned a little heavy on the booze (), but it was incredibly well made and delicious. For my entrée, I went back to an old favorite, the Truffle Mafaldine. I ordered it during my first visit and honestly hadn't stopped thinking about it since. If you're a truffle lover, this dish is an absolute must. Before you even take your first bite, the aroma of fresh truffle fills your nose. It's rich and packed with flavor. The portion is generous, so I happily took leftovers home. For dessert, I grabbed a slice of the Butterfinger Pie to go. Unfortunately, it was the one miss of the evening. The pie was overwhelmingly meringue, making it difficult to taste much chocolate or Butterfinger. It just didn't deliver the flavor I was expecting. The restaurant was incredibly busy, so the service wasn't the most attentive I've experienced. Sitting at the Lobster Bar ended up being my entertainment during the extended wait times though. Watching the chefs carefully prepare each sushi plate was mesmerizing. Their precision, speed, and technique were truly impressive. I had the pleasure of checking out Trivoli for dinner while in town recently and my mind was blown. To start, the interior is gorgeous. It felt like an old school Italian eatery and the dining room just kept going with booths and plenty of other tables. Our server was absolutely incredible (I think her name was Sierra?). She informed me of all the amazing gluten free options I could enjoy including the corn bread, sushi (gluten free soy sauce, yay!), and pasta. This menu is surprisingly vast for my gluten free foodies out there. The corn bread is something I'd add to my last meal on Earth. It was warm, fluffy, with a crispy cheese top and honey butter. I need the recipe ASAP. The caesar salad made with potato chips instead of croutons was f*cking genius. I wish I had thought of it! The steak frites, although small, were expertly seasoned with a herb crust that didn't negatively affect the juicy and tender cook on the steak. So, so, so good. The vodka rigatoni was the best vodka sauce I've ever had. I must crack the code on how they do it -- I've been thinking about this dish ever since. It was smooth, with small chunks of tomato and a nice kick. Although I didn't get to eat the lobster roll in its true form due to the roll, I enjoyed bits of the lobster on the accompanying potato chips and almost lost my mind. So fresh. The sushi roll was maybe my least favorite thing we tried but it was still good so that's saying something about the rest of the food. It just felt like such a novelty to have all the other dishes we did PLUS sushi, so we had to indulge. I mean, what other place is doing that?! We were all totally blown away. I recommend booking in advance for a larger party as reservations fill up weeks in advance and the wait can be long for walk-ins. Thanks for a terrific, gluten-free friendly meal that I'll be thinking about for a LOOOONG time!
Wow, I was so happy my friend was able to get a reservation here on a Friday night! The ambiance inside is moody and romantic. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive. Everything we ordered was fantastic, but the real star of the show was the sticky date cake dessert. You cannot skip this! Hopefully I can get another reservation here next time I'm in the city!
Visiting my son and we came here for lunch. We are a party of 5 and had reservations. We were promptly seated and given menus. Since this was our first time dining here (my son has been here many times), we took a bit of time trying to decide what to order. We decided to try the Smoked Ribs, Pike fish and chips, New England Lobster Roll and the Warm Parker House rolls. Our waitress asked if we wanted the appetizers to come first - since we were sharing we said to bring it out whenever it's ready i.e. no specific order. The ribs and fish and chips entrees were the first to be served. We had also asked for some ice for the table. We waited quite a while before we inquired about the bread and the Lobster roll. Our waitress at this point had not come to check on us - it's about 15-20 minutes since our food arrived. She also forgot about our ice request (We never did get it!). The fish and chips were delicious - crispy on the outside and tender flaky fish on the inside. It was also not greasy and tasted delicious. The chips (fries) were also well done; howeveer, it was a bit on the salty side. None the less it was delicious. Took a while to get some ketchup and "tabasco" (they do not have tabasco but did have crystal hot sauce). The smoked ribs was excellent. Nice smoky flavor and meat was tender. Portions were very generous. As to our missing food order, she was apologetic and informed us that the Lobster roll was made in another kitchen and she had to go and check on it. Not sure what happened there but the rolls turned up really fast. The parkerhouse rolls, on the other hand, did not show up. We inquired again and she was surprised and said "You still want the bread?" and went ahead and placed the order. We surmised that she probably forgot about the order in the first place! The lobster roll was delicious. It came with chips not fries. The chips were also salty. The Parkerhouse rolls finally turned up with the black truffle honey & grass fed butter (5/5). The butter was sooo good - well worth the wait. We were rather stuffed by this time but managed to eat 2 of the 4 rolls! Took the other 2 home. The restaurant manager came over to our table and was very apologetic and informed us that she took care of our table as she felt that the service we received today did not reflect their usual level of service (My son also commented that he's never had poor service here). I appreciated this gesture and feel that restaurants should own up when they fail to provide the service expected at a reputable restaurant. For this reason, I did not ding them any stars. The food was really good and it was unfortunate we had subpar service when we visited. The restaurant was cozy - they have a few outside tables but we sat inside. There are booths as well as tables. The tables are a little closer and the seats are very comfortable. Would definitely come back and try other items on the menu next time we are in Chicago!
Great date night restaurant. Dark lounge-like. Good happy hour options and attentive service. The menu has so many different options! You can order sushi and you can order handmade pasta. Options for everyone. Will be back to try different things. Started off with the Hugo spritz and HH espresso teeny martini. Both were really good and I would order again. From the happy hour menu we got the cheeseburger and hot chicken sliders and Crab Rangoons. The hot chicken was a little dry. The cheeseburger was so good! Should have ordered more. The crab rangoons had a good taste but felt like it was more cheese than crab meat. A little messy as the filling kinda spills out when you cut it, but still would order again. Then we ordered the baked crab cake. This thing is MASSIVE. A lot of crab meat. It was a little chunky so you would get a bite of all crab meat and another of all breading or whatever it is mixed in. Would have preferred for it to be mixed a little more so that you get crab meat in every bite and it is not huge chunks. Also could have used a tad more seasoning. My husband ordered the French onion soup. It was pretty good. A LOT of cheese, which I love. The "crouton" was a pretty thick piece of bread and it soaked up a little too much in my opinion. Still tasted great! Last, we ordered the sticky date cake. I think this dessert is a little overhyped. It was a light cake (not dense) and not rich, nice warm light cake. I wouldn't say it was bursting with flavor. The caramel and crunchy topping definitely elevates it. My husband loved it, but he is not a huge dessert person. I love dessert and although good, I wouldn't say you HAVE TO try it. But if you're there, might as well order it. It was good, not great.
Finally made it Trivoli Tavern to catch up with a friend. Luckily we snagged a reservation for an early Friday dinner because it was fairly packed. Everything we ate was great and would could out with impeccable timing. The butter with the rolls was not as truffle-y than what I read about. The spicy tuna roll was in point and the drinks strong but hitting the spot. We tried the pork chop and while great we would opt for something more savory next time. The vodka rigatoni was great but again I have other items on the menu to try. We closed out with sticky date cake which was a bit sweet. I took a few bites and ended up sharing the rest. The service was amazing and the restaurant itself gave off old school meets modern vibes.
Had such a great night out with my daughter at Trivoli Tavern. From start to finish, everything was outstanding. We started with the artichoke gratin and the salmon Caesar salad, and both were absolutely unreal. The flavors and quality were next level. My ribeye was cooked perfectly -- an incredible char on the outside, medium rare inside exactly as ordered, and seasoned unbelievably well. The mushroom casserole may have honestly been the best mushrooms I've ever had. My daughter's vodka rigatoni was top notch and packed with flavor. We finished with the sticky cake for dessert, which was the perfect ending to an amazing meal. On top of all that, our server Jenna was a total pro -- attentive, knowledgeable, friendly, and made the whole experience even better. One of the best dinners we've had in a long time. Can't wait to come back.
Weekday dinner reservation booked via resy 3 weeks ahead. Cook interior vibe and the restaurant was packed. Service was excellent and thorough. Ordered various appetizers, salad,pasta, prime rib and the burger. Burger was probably the best by far, pasta was okay, the rigatoni was maybe a little firm and needed a little more time. Prime rib was probably my least favorite. The smoked salmon Caesar was salty. Date cake was great, very sweet and shareable. Butter finger pie was good as well but date cake is the best Overall excellent service and ambiance. Had high expectations for the food and it fell short. Overall for how busy this place is the food was just okay
We stumbled upon Trivoli Tavern quite by accident. Walking the streets, Thank goodness we made a right when we did. This is a sheer delight! Everything from the music to the leather booth to the chandelier and the wallpaper it's like a gorgeous hunting lodge located in Tuscany somewhere. We loved the meatballs and marinara sauce. Great wine list. And the music... the music is just everything here. It's romantic it's nostalgic, a little dark and sexy. Great for a date night or a family gathering, birthday. I would come back here again and again. It is the perfect spot to be in the midst of a modern city.
Upscale ambience, rustic charm meets vibrant neighborhood of West loop, this place is perfect location for celebrations. Service is polished, attentive and welcoming. Fresh bread so soft that it makes the best pair with half off wine bottles during happy hour. Elevated comfort dishes that balance flavor and execution. This place is a must visit.
Stopped for dinner while in Chicago. Place has a great vibe. It has a nice bar to have a drink while you are waiting for your table and has a great local beer selection. The Pigs in a Blanket were a good starter. 5 pieces come with the appetizer and the mustard it comes with is very good. I had the spicy shrimp which was great and had lots of flavor. Not too spicy. The steak frites was also excellent. Service was top notch. Highly recommend this place. read more

What a vibe. Doesn't look like anything special from the outside but boy was I wrong. Place runs like a well oiled machine. From the hostess to the busters. We ordered the crab Rangoon. Clam chowder and Caesar salad. Rolls. Steak frites and the vodka pasta. Date cake for dessert. Everything was 10/10 except for the Caesar and the clam chowder. Those two left a lot to be desired. However it allowed us to keep extra room for all of the food. Our server Maggie was on top of things and made us feel like the only table she had, yet the place was packed. Joked with some fellow Chicago friends that we loved the place and it's probably a tourist trap. They were quick to correct me and say no even the locals love it. We can see why. read more
This place is such a great vibe. During the summer there is setting outside which is so nice. The service is great and we got a complimentary ice cream for our anniversary. We tried their crab Rangoon was so good. We also had their vodka pasta and it was so flavorful and delicious. The steak was so good and juicy and filled with so much flavors. The fries compliments the steak. We recommend reserving ahead as it can be booked up really quickly. Definitely will be coming back here again. read more
If I could give this place 10 stars I would. Hands-down, one of the best dinners I have had in a long time. The waiter gave us several recommendations off of the menu and we decided to get all of them and every single dish was out of this world. There wasn't a single thing that was even mediocre, Everything was incredible. The salmon crudite appetizer was so fresh and amazing. The iceberg salad was awesome with the pork belly in it. Crab Rangoon's were 10 out of 10. The pot pie with the bone marrow in it was absolutely insane. One of the main highlights of the meal for me was the mushroom Casserole and I don't even like mushrooms and I was obsessed with it. The waiter was excellent, very funny and engaging. The whole experience was great. 100% will come back next time I'm in Chicago read more

Pretty difficult place to get a reservation and walk in waits are long. We were very lucky to come on a nice day and be able to sit outside. I had the French onion soup and potpie. Pretty good and filling although I prefer a potpie that's more moist. I would have skipped the mushroom side my husband and I got. It was too salty and rich. read more
Tucked away down an alley, Trivoli Tavern feels like an escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. Reservations are somewhat hard to come by so we were only able to secure ours on the outdoor patio which gave me European vibes with the cobblestones, exposed brick and string lights. The indoor has a dark and rich tavern feel. The menu gives steakhouse vibes, with plenty of proteins and seafood options alongside some handmade pastas. They even have a lobster bar and sushi rolls section of the menu. I appreciated that you could order a carafe of table wine for $19. That was perfect for us but more elevated wines can be had starting around that price for the glass. Between the 2 of us we ordered 3 items and split everything. The half house salad exceeded expectations as far as salads go. The vinaigrette was really tasty and the ingredients were nice and crisp. The Spicy Shrimp Pasta and the Famous Prime Rib completed our order. The crust on the prime rib was really tough and basically inedible but the cook on it was done well and we enjoyed the pasta. Portions here are on the normal size, not overdone, so I was still a little hungry by the time we finished. read more

Travel Tavern is one of my new go-to spots for happy hour and dessert! This place gives off a true speakeasy vibe -- old school Chicago style -- and even the walk through the cobblestone entrance sets the tone before you get inside. The service is consistently attentive, the staff is friendly, and no matter how busy they get, they move fast and take care of you like you matter. The desserts are amazing and definitely worth coming for on their own. If you love good vibes, old Chicago atmosphere, strong happy hour deals, and great dessert... Travel Tavern is a must. It was really good. Not as good as the hype. Service wasn't the best. It's upper end bar food with $20 drinks. And yes, the sticky date cake is a must. I guess you're paying for the atmosphere. I love all the Hogsalt restaurants. Bavettes is still the GOAT. read more

Visited Chicago to see my friend and she told me about this must try gem and OHHHH MY GAWDDD! The service was pretty good. However, I actually wasn't a big fan of the server we had because he seemed very passive aggressive, but luckily he didn't take away from the overall experience and he still was attentive. The food was so good that I forgot to take photos. We ordered the Caesar salad, Pigs in a Blanket, Crab Rangoons, Truffle Malfadine, Sizzling Shrimp Scampi, and the infamous Sticky Date Cake. Everything was extremely good, I was really surprised at how perfect the pasta was cooked. I'd order everything again and again. The restaurant was very clean and I loved the ambiance with the low light settings. read more

Cozy vibes & unforgettable flavors, Trivoli Tavern is a must! Hands down one of my favorite dining experiences in Chicago! From start to finish, everything was absolutely delicious. I started with an espresso martini (perfectly balanced -- smooth, rich, and just the right kick!) and every single bite after that was a 10/10. I ordered the famous chicken pot pie, and wow, it lived up to the hype! The flaky crust, creamy filling, and comforting flavors were perfection. You can really tell this place takes pride in their cozy, comfort-style dishes. Between the warm ambiance, great service, and incredible food, Trivoli Tavern is a place I'll be dreaming about until my next visit. Truly a gem in Chicago! Totally lived up to the hype! Service, ambiance and food/drinks were all top tier. We really enjoyed the Parker house rolls with the truffle butter and the wedge salad is a must! For entrees the rigatoni and the steak were spectacular. Highly recommend making a reservation way out as this should be on your list! read more

The immediate ambiance of the cobblestone was quite nice. Approaching the restaurant, you'd easily forget you're in Chicago. The service was spot-on. Our waiter was wonderful. The food arrived promptly. Dishes and silverware were all cleared between courses and replaced with clean ones. And I appreciated that they sat us a bit earlier than our reservation because we arrived with plenty of time to spare. I thought the food was really good although overpriced. When one slice of pie (that's made mostly of meringue --just sugar and egg whites) is $17, I expect the food to be outstanding. Memorable. It was good to be sure, but not as memorable as I'd hoped. I don't quite understand all the hype. The mushroom casserole was good, but salty. The Rigatoni was good. I enjoyed it. But it didn't stand out over other rigatoni I've had. My teen ordered the crab Rangoon and I wouldn't feel the need to order them again. That was our least favorite food we ordered. I do love the sticky date cake. I've had it at Armitage Alehouse and it's just as good here. I was looking forward to it all day and it didn't disappoint I'm not at all saying the experience was really disappointing. It was all good. But for the price and all the hype, I expected it all to be nothing short of amazing read more
I had dinner here when I visited Chicago a few weeks ago. I can say it was well worth it, and I would absolutely come back. I sampled a good portion of the appetizers on the menu. The cornbread was some of the best I've ever had (I'm from the South so that's really saying something lol). Also the chicken sliders were very tasty. Also the pigs in blankets and coconut shrimp were also some of the highlights that I would get again. The only thing I would change would be my main course. I got the smashburger. It was fine but not amazing. I would get the vodka pasta, which I tried a bite of, instead. For dessert all of the reviews about the stick date cake are accurate. It's a must get if you come here. Service was great. We had a reservation but still had to wait about 15 minutes to be seated but that's about the only thing negative I can say. The atmosphere is just as cool in person if not more so than what you see online. Total old world speakeasy feel that they pull off in style! Absolutely would come back again next time I'm in Chicago! read more
Very busy and for good reason! Service was great and our server seemed to manage the busyness very well, so we were able to enjoy the energy and were well-looked after! Had a martini to start and then a glass of wine. Love the fact that they point out which wines have low sulfites, extremely helpful to avoid an unnecessarily stuffy nose. :) The slow-roasted meatballs... Not pictured but absolutely incredible. Soft and flavorful, all in a beautiful red sauce. Love how they were served in a small rimmed dish - It made it very easy to serve and sauce! Then, shared the aged bone-in NY strip - Incredible. The wedge salad with the bacon and Gorgonzola was also to die for. Vodka rigatoni is a must, and the gluten-free rigatoni was also very, very good. We sat outdoors and it was a lovely evening. The string lights bring so much warmth - All of the tables with people strewn about enjoying themselves with nice company really makes the outdoor seating a nice experience. The happy hour menu is fantastic. The crab Rangoon were perfect, not too sweet and filled with a generous amount of crab. The Caesar salad was delicious and had a generous portion. The wine was very affordable, and they had a variety of other options on their drink menu. read more
Trivoli Tavern was recommended by a friend on our trip from Louisville, Ky to Chicago. We dined at 6:30p on the patio, we walked through the alley to get to our table. It felt like we were dining in Italy, from the cobblestone like ground to the light classical music. We started off with the chicken sliders (hot), this was the only item I was not impressed with. The chicken and sauce were tasty but the bread was hard and hard to chew. For the price this was disappointing. French onion soup was lovely, lots of flavor and cheese! I ordered the vodka rigatoni, the pasta was cooked perfectly and the sauce was delicious. My partner ordered the fish and chips and said it was 9/10. The roumalade sauce was "amazing". The dessert, holy moly! Please order the sticky date cake with brown butter icecream. You will not regret it. We had a lovely time here and do recommend! It was rather expensive so not a place we could frequent every time we visit Chicago. read more
Trivoli is almost impossible to score a reservation for but it's worth the fight. We came to celebrate a birthday on a Thursday night and while we were only able to get a time at 8:30pm, it was still a good experience. The service here is phenomenal and it's such a cozy atmosphere. Dinner for two with a carafe of wine was about $75 before tip, and the chicken pot pie was the best we've ever had. Only downside is that some menu items are very overpriced. Still worth trying Trivoli! read more

This place completely stole our hearts! The moment you walk in, you feel like you've stepped into an old-school Italian tavern Our server, Cindy, was absolutely incredible. Everything she suggested turned out to be amazing. We also want to give a big thank you to the manager I think his name was Anthony, who stopped by to make sure everything was perfect. The Sticky Date Cake was absolutely unforgettable. It was so good that it honestly made us want to come back again very soon just for that alone We will 100% be back! read more
Exceeded expectations! We had a lovely experience on their beautiful patio with excellent service. Our waiter noticed we were celebrating and went above and beyond, complimentary champagne, an ice cream sundae, and congratulatory note on our check. The food was fantastic across the board. We ordered Parker House rolls, coconut shrimp, baked artichoke gratin, vodka rigatoni, and smoked salmon Caesar, all of which were delicious. The sticky date cake was the absolute standout, so good that I'd come back just for that dessert alone. read more

i was excited to try this place since it's been named one of the top restaurants on yelp. the ambiance was super cozy and beautiful, perfectly dim lighting and it was super lively. i'd imagine this spot is amazing to come to during the holiday season since it's not even the holiday season anymore and it still exudes that kind of vibe. it felt very chicago haha. anyway, we came as a party of 2 around ~6:15 on a saturday evening and had to wait an hour to be seated. for such an incredibly busy restaurant, our waitress was quite attentive and fairly easy to flag down too. definitely a better service experience than smaller restaurants i've been that haven't even been half as busy, so kudos to trivoli. our drinks and food came out quickly too. the bella punch was delicious. we also got the spinach artichoke dip, the vodka rigatoni, and the spicy orecchiette. the pastas were both good, especially the orecchiette in my opinion. perfectly cooked as well. however, the spinach artichoke dip stood out the most to us, it was super delicious. overall, i would love to come back here especially over the summer sometime when the outside seating is open, and not during the middle of a historic snow storm it definitely lived up to the hype for me. read more

Went to Trivoli Tavern for Happy Hour to celebrate my birthday, and it definitely lived up to the hype. I had been wanting to check it out for a while, and it was totally worth the wait. We went on a weekday and stuck mostly to the Happy Hour menu, which turned out to be a great move. The vibe inside is super cool, dark, cozy, and massive on the inside. It reminded me of bavettes if you've ever been. The staff was awesome from the jump super friendly and attentive all evening. We started off with the mini martinis (only $8 each!) and they were surprisingly generous in size. I tried both the espresso martini and dirty gin martini (with blue cheese olives of course) and both were delicious. For food, we shared the pigs in a blanket and the crab Rangoons, each under $10 with big portions. Honestly, those two plates were more than enough to snack on throughout Happy Hour. After Happy Hour ended, our server mentioned their Wednesday special, half off bottles of wine, so we split one, and that kept the party going without breaking the bank. Great deal if you're going midweek! Since it was my birthday, we ordered the sticky date cake, and let me just say: one of the best desserts I've had in a long time. Super rich, flavorful, and absolutely worth trying and lives up to the hype it gets on social media. They also surprised me with a free vanilla sundae with a birthday candle, which was such a sweet touch (literally and figuratively). Overall, I had an awesome first experience at Trivoli. The Happy Hour is one of the better ones I've found in Chicago, great drinks, shareable bites, and a beautiful space that feels upscale without being too stuffy or overpriced. Definitely want to come back for more of a full dinner sometime soon. read more
Trivoli Tavern came highly recommended, so I was thankful to snag a reservation. They were pretty busy when I arrived, so I had to wait to be seated. The decor and food were very aligned. Our waiter Lee was so kind. We ordered the parker house roll w/ truffle butter (a MUST), shrimp scampi, 1/2 smoked salmon Caesar salad, spicy orecchiette and date cake! Love Love Love Trivoli Tavern! I can't believe it took me so long to visit! I love the ambiance, its comfy for couples and groups! The staff are knowledgeable and the Food, OMG the food is delicious! It's fresh! It's hot and full of flavor! I've tried the crab cake - one of the best in the city! Full of crab, no filler! The Vodka Rigatoni is amazing; it's simple but so fresh and tasty! Smoked salmon Caesar salad it's so damn good! I took some "To Go!" Warm rolls, are like home. Honestly, so good. It is hidden in an alley but I promise it isn't sketchy. It does have cobblestone so if you're wearing heels it might make it hard to walk. However, the burger? 10/10. I would order it again. The sticky date cake is also something you need to for sure order. I was there with a group of 6 girls. Everyone liked their food except one. In this day of rising food costs and going out to ear becoming prohibitively costly, we find ourselves choosing our spots a little more carefully. If you're willing to pay for quality and an overall experience, it's hard to do better than a Hogsalt location. Yes, it can be pricey. Sure, it's hard to get a reservation. But, you'll never regret an experience you've had there. We finally made it to Trivoli Tavern (the last on our list to check off) for our anniversary dinner, and what a meal it was. From the impeccable service to the delicious, high quality food, we were impressed every step of the way. Like all Hogsalt locations, the decor almost steals the entire show. Trivoli's interior is kind of a mix of Ciccio and Armitage, though somehow a little more relaxed (perhaps the sheer size). The menu itself seems to be a greatest hits of both of those restaurants as well, along with some special things only available here. And that's what we chose: lobster roll, artichoke gratin, crab cakes, and the Butterfinger pie. It's not easy to get a great lobster roll or crab cake in this city - these both instantly shot to the top of the list, particularly the crab cake. All crab here, almost no "filler" in the binding, just light and delicious. I will say, the side sauce, while delicious, almost overpowered the crab itself. We only had a few bites with it before putting it off to the side. As you would expect, the cocktails are top notch as well. Again, not a lot of places do a Black Manhattan, but like anything else, if it's on their menu they do it great. Of course, the Butterfinger Pie is everything you've already heard about (though not as good as the Sticky Date Cake or the Molten Lava Cake), and alongside a complimentary anniversary scoop of their wonderful ice cream it was even better. We're visiting Chicago and we were excited to check this place out. The ambiance is a 10/10. Such a beautiful spot. The hostess with the black glasses was ehhh. Didn't feel genuine. We thought the girl with the red hair/pigtails was really nice! The food is subpar. Especially the ribeye steak (dry eyed). It was $80 dollar and it tasted like a steak from BJ's restaurants definitely not worth it. We also ordered the spicy shrimp pasta. It was good. We give it a 8/10. Over all this place is mostly for the ambiance/views. Upset about the steak. We love steak and are willing to spend $$ on steak but this one felt disappointing. read more
Originally when planning the trip, we were unable to get a reservation until the day of, just a few hours before. If you make a reservation, be sure that's the time you want because no one will answer the phone if you try to adjust it, and you're charged $5 per person for the reservation, which is not added to the bill. Inside, the restaurant is very dark and it was difficult to read the menu. We started with the bread rolls and crab rangoons; the bread rolls were amazing. Dinner was also very good, just too salty. We also got the date cake, which was a little too sweet. When the bill came, we noticed there was also an additional surcharge added (around $8), which made the overall experience frustrating. While the food was good, it felt like we were being charged for multiple things that didn't really make sense, especially considering the bill was already expensive. read more

This is a solid option for happy hour if you can't make it at the start of the hour and then ease into dinner. The teeny martinis a great pick and a good size. I actually didn't even think of the class being smaller until I saw the regular martini glass. The old fashion was a no for me. Happy hour also includes table wine, draft beer and highballs. While the list seems short, there's a good selection of food for HH. The crab rangoon were great. Think of it as more of a twist than traditional. The friend chicken sliders were also pretty good as well as the pulled pork and cheeseburger sliders. For dinner, the rolls are a must. The black truffle honey butter really sets it off. We also had the wedge salad, the vodka rigatoni and the shrimp pasta. Everything was good. I thought the shrimp pasta was just OK. The menu has a nice variety so there's something for everyone. Our desert was also really good. It was a strawberry cream situation. One of the highlights of the night. The restaurant is dimly lit, which is the trend these days. It's inspired for Wisconsin supper club and has a nice vibe to it. Our waitress was really nice. Worth the hype 100%. Must try is the vodka rigatoni (and add spicy sausage because IYKYK). Their sticky date is THE BEST sticky cake I've ever tried. I'd say it puts Gordon Ramsay's dessert to shame. A must-try place is you go to Chicago. Make reservations. The place is warm and cozy inside, beautifully decorated. Bathroom is really clean. The one place we tried that we absolutely loved. read more

That's not be a bad idea. We were asked if we had one. A place can't be busy. You can make one online through Resy.
Anyone know if this where RM Champagne used to be? One address shows as 114 and the other as 116. I'm wondering if it's the same building.
It is not the same location, but it is down the same alley as RM was.
Is it casual dress?
I would say yes, although it looks fancy I was wearing a top and jeans with flats & so were others. I wouldn't however show up in sweat pants :)
Do they offer valet parking?
No. We had to valet at Sienna Tavern and walk over.
