    Truffle Mafaldine with Classic Ribeye
    Joiliana L.

This place is gorgeous with a lovely atmosphere. We sat at the bar. I got a cosmo which was very solid, nice and refreshing without being too sweet. Truffle mafaldine: 4/5. If you love truffle flavor and always feel like people don't add enough, this is the pasta for you. This packs a HUGE truffle punch, perfect for me. You can add a protein to it and I chose ribeye which was cooked to perfection with a good crust. The pasta sauce was a little over salted and the pasta a bit undercooked but I'm going to put that on them being close to closing when we ordered. I'd come back and try it again for sure. Sticky date cake: 4.5/5. This cake was hot, sweet, moist, soft, and absolutely soaked in syrup. The ice cream is the perfect addition and they have like a salted toffee crumble topping that adds a great balance to the dish. Will absolutely be returning.

I recently treated myself to a downtown staycation and decided to kick off my birthday celebration at Trivoli Tavern. I'd dined here before and had such a great experience that I knew I wanted to come back. When I checked for reservations, there weren't any available, so I decided to take my chances as a walk-in. While waiting, I overheard that the wait was about an hour, especially if you wanted to sit outside. Luckily, there was a single stool open at the Lobster Bar, so I was able to grab a seat almost immediately. Sometimes dining solo has its perks! To start, I ordered the Coconut Shrimp, and they were fantastic. They were perfectly crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and paired beautifully with the orange-chili marmalade, which added just the right balance of sweetness and tang. To drink, I had the Harvard Manhattan. It leaned a little heavy on the booze (), but it was incredibly well made and delicious. For my entrée, I went back to an old favorite, the Truffle Mafaldine. I ordered it during my first visit and honestly hadn't stopped thinking about it since. If you're a truffle lover, this dish is an absolute must. Before you even take your first bite, the aroma of fresh truffle fills your nose. It's rich and packed with flavor. The portion is generous, so I happily took leftovers home. For dessert, I grabbed a slice of the Butterfinger Pie to go. Unfortunately, it was the one miss of the evening. The pie was overwhelmingly meringue, making it difficult to taste much chocolate or Butterfinger. It just didn't deliver the flavor I was expecting. The restaurant was incredibly busy, so the service wasn't the most attentive I've experienced. Sitting at the Lobster Bar ended up being my entertainment during the extended wait times though. Watching the chefs carefully prepare each sushi plate was mesmerizing. Their precision, speed, and technique were truly impressive. Overall, Trivoli Tavern delivered another memorable dining experience and was a great place to begin my solo birthday celebration #ImNotAFoodie #ImJustAGirlWhoLovesFood #YelpEliteSquad

Vodka Rigatoni with gluten free pasta

I had the pleasure of checking out Trivoli for dinner while in town recently and my mind was blown. To start, the interior is gorgeous. It felt like an old school Italian eatery and the dining room just kept going with booths and plenty of other tables. Our server was absolutely incredible (I think her name was Sierra?). She informed me of all the amazing gluten free options I could enjoy including the corn bread, sushi (gluten free soy sauce, yay!), and pasta. This menu is surprisingly vast for my gluten free foodies out there. The corn bread is something I'd add to my last meal on Earth. It was warm, fluffy, with a crispy cheese top and honey butter. I need the recipe ASAP. The caesar salad made with potato chips instead of croutons was f*cking genius. I wish I had thought of it! The steak frites, although small, were expertly seasoned with a herb crust that didn't negatively affect the juicy and tender cook on the steak. So, so, so good. The vodka rigatoni was the best vodka sauce I've ever had. I must crack the code on how they do it -- I've been thinking about this dish ever since. It was smooth, with small chunks of tomato and a nice kick. Although I didn't get to eat the lobster roll in its true form due to the roll, I enjoyed bits of the lobster on the accompanying potato chips and almost lost my mind. So fresh. The sushi roll was maybe my least favorite thing we tried but it was still good so that's saying something about the rest of the food. It just felt like such a novelty to have all the other dishes we did PLUS sushi, so we had to indulge. I mean, what other place is doing that?! We were all totally blown away. I recommend booking in advance for a larger party as reservations fill up weeks in advance and the wait can be long for walk-ins. Thanks for a terrific, gluten-free friendly meal that I'll be thinking about for a LOOOONG time!

Wow, I was so happy my friend was able to get a reservation here on a Friday night! The ambiance inside is moody and romantic. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive. Everything we ordered was fantastic, but the real star of the show was the sticky date cake dessert. You cannot skip this! Hopefully I can get another reservation here next time I'm in the city!

    Lobster Roll and Chips

Visiting my son and we came here for lunch. We are a party of 5 and had reservations. We were promptly seated and given menus. Since this was our first time dining here (my son has been here many times), we took a bit of time trying to decide what to order. We decided to try the Smoked Ribs, Pike fish and chips, New England Lobster Roll and the Warm Parker House rolls. Our waitress asked if we wanted the appetizers to come first - since we were sharing we said to bring it out whenever it's ready i.e. no specific order. The ribs and fish and chips entrees were the first to be served. We had also asked for some ice for the table. We waited quite a while before we inquired about the bread and the Lobster roll. Our waitress at this point had not come to check on us - it's about 15-20 minutes since our food arrived. She also forgot about our ice request (We never did get it!). The fish and chips were delicious - crispy on the outside and tender flaky fish on the inside. It was also not greasy and tasted delicious. The chips (fries) were also well done; howeveer, it was a bit on the salty side. None the less it was delicious. Took a while to get some ketchup and "tabasco" (they do not have tabasco but did have crystal hot sauce). The smoked ribs was excellent. Nice smoky flavor and meat was tender. Portions were very generous. As to our missing food order, she was apologetic and informed us that the Lobster roll was made in another kitchen and she had to go and check on it. Not sure what happened there but the rolls turned up really fast. The parkerhouse rolls, on the other hand, did not show up. We inquired again and she was surprised and said "You still want the bread?" and went ahead and placed the order. We surmised that she probably forgot about the order in the first place! The lobster roll was delicious. It came with chips not fries. The chips were also salty. The Parkerhouse rolls finally turned up with the black truffle honey & grass fed butter (5/5). The butter was sooo good - well worth the wait. We were rather stuffed by this time but managed to eat 2 of the 4 rolls! Took the other 2 home. The restaurant manager came over to our table and was very apologetic and informed us that she took care of our table as she felt that the service we received today did not reflect their usual level of service (My son also commented that he's never had poor service here). I appreciated this gesture and feel that restaurants should own up when they fail to provide the service expected at a reputable restaurant. For this reason, I did not ding them any stars. The food was really good and it was unfortunate we had subpar service when we visited. The restaurant was cozy - they have a few outside tables but we sat inside. There are booths as well as tables. The tables are a little closer and the seats are very comfortable. Would definitely come back and try other items on the menu next time we are in Chicago!

Great date night restaurant. Dark lounge-like. Good happy hour options and attentive service. The menu has so many different options! You can order sushi and you can order handmade pasta. Options for everyone. Will be back to try different things. Started off with the Hugo spritz and HH espresso teeny martini. Both were really good and I would order again. From the happy hour menu we got the cheeseburger and hot chicken sliders and Crab Rangoons. The hot chicken was a little dry. The cheeseburger was so good! Should have ordered more. The crab rangoons had a good taste but felt like it was more cheese than crab meat. A little messy as the filling kinda spills out when you cut it, but still would order again. Then we ordered the baked crab cake. This thing is MASSIVE. A lot of crab meat. It was a little chunky so you would get a bite of all crab meat and another of all breading or whatever it is mixed in. Would have preferred for it to be mixed a little more so that you get crab meat in every bite and it is not huge chunks. Also could have used a tad more seasoning. My husband ordered the French onion soup. It was pretty good. A LOT of cheese, which I love. The "crouton" was a pretty thick piece of bread and it soaked up a little too much in my opinion. Still tasted great! Last, we ordered the sticky date cake. I think this dessert is a little overhyped. It was a light cake (not dense) and not rich, nice warm light cake. I wouldn't say it was bursting with flavor. The caramel and crunchy topping definitely elevates it. My husband loved it, but he is not a huge dessert person. I love dessert and although good, I wouldn't say you HAVE TO try it. But if you're there, might as well order it. It was good, not great.

Finally made it Trivoli Tavern to catch up with a friend. Luckily we snagged a reservation for an early Friday dinner because it was fairly packed. Everything we ate was great and would could out with impeccable timing. The butter with the rolls was not as truffle-y than what I read about. The spicy tuna roll was in point and the drinks strong but hitting the spot. We tried the pork chop and while great we would opt for something more savory next time. The vodka rigatoni was great but again I have other items on the menu to try. We closed out with sticky date cake which was a bit sweet. I took a few bites and ended up sharing the rest. The service was amazing and the restaurant itself gave off old school meets modern vibes.

Classic Ribeye Baby Artichoke Gratin lobster maki roll Vodka rigatoni Mushroom Casserole

Had such a great night out with my daughter at Trivoli Tavern. From start to finish, everything was outstanding. We started with the artichoke gratin and the salmon Caesar salad, and both were absolutely unreal. The flavors and quality were next level. My ribeye was cooked perfectly -- an incredible char on the outside, medium rare inside exactly as ordered, and seasoned unbelievably well. The mushroom casserole may have honestly been the best mushrooms I've ever had. My daughter's vodka rigatoni was top notch and packed with flavor. We finished with the sticky cake for dessert, which was the perfect ending to an amazing meal. On top of all that, our server Jenna was a total pro -- attentive, knowledgeable, friendly, and made the whole experience even better. One of the best dinners we've had in a long time. Can't wait to come back.

If there is one thing you order, please let it be the sticky date cake. Words cannot describe how good this dessert was. Life changing is an understatement. I hadn't been to trivoli in almost 3 years but it was still just as good as I remembered!

Weekday dinner reservation booked via resy 3 weeks ahead. Cook interior vibe and the restaurant was packed. Service was excellent and thorough. Ordered various appetizers, salad, pasta, prime rib and the burger. Burger was probably the best by far, pasta was okay, the rigatoni was maybe a little firm and needed a little more time. Prime rib was probably my least favorite. The smoked salmon Caesar was salty. Date cake was great, very sweet and shareable. Butter finger pie was good as well but date cake is the best Overall excellent service and ambiance. Had high expectations for the food and it fell short. Overall for how busy this place is the food was just okay

Resverations are a must. We only came for the sticky date cake, which is absolutely delicious. Plenty to share with at least 3 people. One of the best desserts in the city.

We stumbled upon Trivoli Tavern quite by accident. Walking the streets, Thank goodness we made a right when we did. This is a sheer delight! Everything from the music to the leather booth to the chandelier and the wallpaper it's like a gorgeous hunting lodge located in Tuscany somewhere. We loved the meatballs and marinara sauce. Great wine list. And the music... the music is just everything here. It's romantic it's nostalgic, a little dark and sexy. Great for a date night or a family gathering, birthday. I would come back here again and again. It is the perfect spot to be in the midst of a modern city.

Upscale ambience, rustic charm meets vibrant neighborhood of West loop, this place is perfect location for celebrations. Service is polished, attentive and welcoming. Fresh bread so soft that it makes the best pair with half off wine bottles during happy hour. Elevated comfort dishes that balance flavor and execution. This place is a must visit.

I have a reservation at 1:45pm. Will they be serving their dinner menu at that time since brunch ends then?

The brunch menu is served for reservations that start at 1:45pm.

Are reservations recommended for a Sunday?

That's not be a bad idea. We were asked if we had one. A place can't be busy. You can make one online through Resy.

Anyone know if this where RM Champagne used to be? One address shows as 114 and the other as 116. I'm wondering if it's the same building.

It is not the same location, but it is down the same alley as RM was.

    Is it casual dress?

I would say yes, although it looks fancy I was wearing a top and jeans with flats & so were others. I wouldn't however show up in sweat pants :)

    Do they offer valet parking?

No. We had to valet at Sienna Tavern and walk over.

My wife and I ordered the bone marrow to start and shared a single cheeseburger with the bacon and egg add on. The bone marrow with the marmalade on the side was amazing. I loved the thick toast they gave on the side. It was the perfect balance for such a rich dish. The burger is probably one of the best burgers I've had in my life. The bun was nice and fluffy, the burger was juicy, the bacon was thick and flavorful, and the egg was cooked to perfection. For a couple of bites, we threw a little bone marrow and the marmalade on the burger and it took it to a whole new level. The restaurant was small and comfortable. A tad loud with the music, but I didn't mind too much. I would gladly trade that for the delicious meal we had. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great burger. Just make sure you get a reservation early.

Vibes inside are excellent and drinks are (very) boozy with a variety of booths, tables, and bar seating available. Burger with Egg and Bacon (4.25/5): Look, this is a great burger. Bacon is melt in your mouth and the egg adds a bit of creamy richness on top of the fatty, salty beef and cheese combo. The bread bun is pillowy, but I wouldn't wait in a line for hours for this. Bone Marrow (10/5): Now I would wait in line for hours for this bone marrow dish that absolutely changed my life. This comes with 4 HUGE pieces of bone marrow that you spread over fluffy, perfectly toasted Texas toast and pair with a beef cheek marmalade that exactly rides the line between sweet and savory. If you come here without ordering this, you're missing out big time. Green Salad (4/5): Nice, fresh and I needed some fiber. Nothing mind blowing, but a good change of pace. Crispy Fries (4/5): Very lightly crispy fries (reminiscent of light well for the west coasters), but the sauces are where this shines. Garlic aioli and mornay sauce (think white gravy) were rich, thick, and excellent! Key Lime Pie (4.25/5): Whipped cream on this INCREDIBLE, wish you could just order a bowl of that. I think they serve it slightly warmer than fridge temp (cool not cold) and it just melts on the tongue with really strong vanilla flavor. Pie itself is also good; nice strong tartness with the buttery and salty crust. Mille-Feuille (4.5/5): Chocolate sauce has a nice depth of flavor with the shattering crisp of the pastry. Pastry cream was a lot thicker than I expected, but super rich and delicious. Definitely a dessert to share.

We chose to dine at Girl & the Goat in Chicago, a restaurant we had never visited before. The acclaimed restaurant by renowned chef Stephanie Izard truly lived up to its stellar reputation! One of the first things we appreciated was the convenience of the restaurant's valet parking, located right by the front patio. At $22 for up to four hours and $26 for four to eight hours, the rates were quite reasonable for the area. As soon as the three of us stepped inside Girl & the Goat (we had made a reservation for 6:30 pm on a Friday), we were warmly greeted by one of the two friendly hostesses, and were promptly led to a comfortable four-top table with a banquette and two chairs along the wall. We felt fortunate to have one of the better tables in the dining room, as some of the others were positioned very close together. The nearby two-top tables, in particular, were quite small and placed only a short distance from ours. The restaurant's rustic-industrial décor was dark but trendy and stylish, the lively and vibrant vibe was warm and welcoming. However, I have to mention that it was really loud in the dining room, as guests seemed to be enjoying themselves and talked loudly.  It was hard to hear our server and the staff who delivered and explained the dishes to us.  Our server, Yazmin, was extremely friendly and attentive.  It was very sweet of her to wish us a happy anniversary both in the beginning  and at the end of the meal.  She also checked in on us several times during the evening.  Now, on to the food and drinks. I started with a glass of the NA Sparkling Rosé ($17), which was light, crisp, and quite refreshing. My husband ordered a glass of Le Colture Prosecco ($18), while our daughter chose the Sun Kid ($18). She enjoyed her drink, although she felt the portion was a bit small, as the glass was filled with a lot of ice that took up much of the space. Since the restaurant offers small to medium plates which are shareable, Yazmin advised us to get 5 to 6 dishes for 3 people to share.  We decided to get 5 savory dishes and 3 desserts to share: Savory dishes: - Chickpea Fritters ($20), goat yogurt, green chutney, sev spice crunch, pickled rhubarb. - Pan Roasted Halibut ($37), miso-Marcona almond butter, spring onion blueberry nuoc cham. - Roasted Pig Face ($28), sunny side egg, tamarind, cilantro, red wine-maple, potato stix. - Goat Empanadas ($24), smoked tomato-corn salsa, roasted poblano crema queso fresco. - Confit Goat Belly ($38), strawberry goat braise, smoked yogurt drizzle, pickled strawberries. Desserts: - Vacation, Please! ($16), toasted coconut crunch, lemon passion fruit sorbet, rum-soaked pineapple cake. - Berry Yummy Par-tea ($16), earl grey soaked sponge cake, yuzu curd, spiced blackberries. - Chocolate Basil Brownie Bash ($16), olive oil semifreddo, chocolate fennel crunch, basil granita. The meal was just phenomenal!  All the savory dishes were cooked perfectly with bold flavors; the meats were tender and full of flavors.  There were dishes that we normally would not have ordered if we saw them on menus of other restaurants.  Here, we tried them and were delighted that we did!  Our consensus is that Roasted Pig Face is our most favorite! It is everything we love in a comfort dish -- crispy on the outside, meltingly tender inside, and packed with rich, balanced flavor.  We will definitely order this again!  The Confit Goat Belly is a close second, with buttery, fall-apart meat and just the right balance of richness, acidity, and crunch. For dessert, "Vacation, Please!" is the one that we will always come back for. The toasted coconut crunch adds texture, the lemon passion fruit sorbet brings a refreshing tang, and the rum-soaked pineapple cake ties it all together with just the right amount of sweetness.  The other two desserts that we ordered were also very good.  The staff even brought out a scoop of Chocolate Ice Cream on the house, with two lit candles to celebrate our anniversary - a thoughtful touch that made the evening even more memorable.  This dessert spread was the perfect ending to an incredible meal. I'd like to mention that the restaurant added a 4% surcharge to the bill, which the customer may request to have the surcharge remove if you choose.  We let them keep it. We spent about two hours at the restaurant. The savory dishes came out very quickly, the pace probably was even a tad too fast, but the desserts made up for it by taking a longer time.  We did not mind as we were still full, and had time to enjoy the ambiance more.  I would say it is a restaurant great for group gathering and celebratory functions, but not so much for intimate romantic date night.  All in all, it was a wonderful dinner, we look forward to returning again.

I was there the other week (I've been here at least five times before), and a busser--not our…read morewaiter--started clearing both of our plates before we were finished eating. We each only had a couple of bites left, but it definitely gave off an "okay, you're done now" vibe. Then he went to take the green beans (arguably the cult classic on the menu), and we still had more than half of them left. I had to stop him and say, "Yeah, we're not done with those. We paid for them. Can you put them in a to-go box instead?" For context, it was about 20 minutes before closing, but we ordered with plenty of time and were already eating with a "get in, eat, and get out" mindset. I've just never had someone at a restaurant start clearing plates while we were still actively eating--without asking, "Are you finished?" "Can I clear this?" or "Would you like a to-go box?" It was just... "You're done, these are leaving now." We were there for less than 45 minutes, left about 15 minutes before closing, and spent over $200 (not including the tip). With so many options in Chicago, I don't see myself coming back here.

I came here over the weekend with my family to celebrate my graduation, and the server named Cat was AMAZING! She made me feel so special at my graduation brunch through her hospitality, witty remarks, easy-going humor, and attentiveness to her clients. If I were her manager, I would give Cat a raise because of how much she elevated the experience and excels at what she does. Additionally, the food was fantastic! The pull-apart bread was so delicious and something I would 100% come back for, as well as the short rib hash, which was flavorful and tender. The ambiance was perfect for a sunny day with a mild temperature, making it the perfect brunch spot. Once again, I cannot emphasize enough how much Cat made our time at Oakville so special. Thank you, Cat, for being so wonderful at your job and going above and beyond to make my special day even more special. 10/10 would definitely come back!!!
