10/10. No notes. Easily the best lobster roll I've ever had. Perfectly cooked and seasoned! We were there for happy hour and I decided to try the house wine and crab Rangoon as well. The crab Rangoon was crisp, light and flavorful. Our waiter was very attentive and helpful as well.
Vibes are immaculate here, makes sense as to why this place is so hard to get a spot in. Friends and I came early and were able to secure a spot at the bar. This place is really busy, so try and get a table if you can for better service. As for the food, it's excellent - the pastas and the Parker house rolls are amazing. The truffle mafaldine pasta was the best dish, I'll definitely be coming back for that one. The date cake was a little too sweet for me but still really moist and the perfect treat.
Visited on July 19th with my sister and had a great lunch! Our server, Alex, was extremely hospitable and gave some great recs. Firstly, the ambiance and decor was extremely comfy cozy. We were seated at a table with big arm chairs, which was so relaxing. The lighting is dim, and there's moderate noise. My favorite items were the crab Rangoon (the spicy mustard is the star), frozen cosmo (so strong and yummy), and the branzino (light and flaky). My sister ordered the vodka rigatoni, which was pretty good. As were the rolls! If you do not favor truffle, you can ask for regular butter on the side. Of course the girls love a Caesar! It was made with potato chips instead of the typical croutons, which was cute. I did end up sending back the creamed spinach. It almost tasted as if it were made with blue cheese; there was a really "funky" taste to it I couldn't get past. Overall, we had a fine time. I'd love to come back to try different items.
If you haven't been to Trivoli Tavern, then you are completely missing out on some amazing food and a beautiful restaurant! My recommendations: 1.) Either make a rezzy ahead of time or be willing to wait (I like to put my name down with the intention of walking/shopping West Loop for a while). 2.) The outdoor patio is worth the wait and hassle 3.) Try the Sticky Date Cake and Cornbread... you can thank me later!!!
This is probably my least favorite Hogsalt restaurant so far. I'd only come back for the mushroom casserole. On the bright side, everything came out to about $200, which wasn't bad for everything we ordered. The Warm Parker House Rolls (5/10) reminded me of Hawaiian rolls but with a thicker, slightly rubbery crust. The truffle butter was sweet and delicious, but the rolls themselves were a little salty and not as soft. The Pigs in a Blanket (6/10) were pretty standard. The mustard had a strong kick, and the puff pastry with sausage was tasty without being memorable. The Prime Rib (6/10) was fresh and paired well with the béarnaise sauce, but the meat came out a little cold and I got tired of the flavor after a few bites. The Truffle Mafaldine (6.5/10) had perfectly al dente pasta, but it wasn't creamy at all and arrived almost at room temperature. The truffle flavor was pretty light too. I definitely prefer the creamy version at Ciccio Mio. The Mushroom Casserole (9.5/10) was easily the star of the meal. Super creamy with an addicting garlic flavor and an amazing crunchy topping. For dessert, the Sticky Date Cake (7.5/10) had great textures with warm rum cake, brown butter ice cream, and crunchy date crumbles, but the toffee sauce was way sweeter than I'd like. The Butterfinger Pie (7/10) also leaned too sweet, though I liked the crunchy Butterfinger pieces and perfectly firm crust. Service was good overall. 7.5/10. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable, but the food came out pretty slowly. We waited around 20 minutes just for the bread after ordering. The vibes were classic Hogsalt with dim lighting, jazz music, and a cozy speakeasy feel. I especially liked the cobblestone alley outside, though it was pretty loud inside. 8/10.
I came here twice during my trip just for the date cake and let me tell you it is worth the hype!!! We were seated inside for our first reservation and loved sultry vibe. We opted for happy hour the second time so we were seated outside. If you love martinis, you neeeeed to get the gin martini with blue cheese olives For food, we had the spicy orecchiette and crispy fried chicken - both pretty good, but nothing to rave about.
I had the pleasure of checking out Trivoli for dinner while in town recently and my mind was blown. To start, the interior is gorgeous. It felt like an old school Italian eatery and the dining room just kept going with booths and plenty of other tables. Our server was absolutely incredible (I think her name was Sierra?). She informed me of all the amazing gluten free options I could enjoy including the corn bread, sushi (gluten free soy sauce, yay!), and pasta. This menu is surprisingly vast for my gluten free foodies out there. The corn bread is something I'd add to my last meal on Earth. It was warm, fluffy, with a crispy cheese top and honey butter. I need the recipe ASAP. The caesar salad made with potato chips instead of croutons was f*cking genius. I wish I had thought of it! The steak frites, although small, were expertly seasoned with a herb crust that didn't negatively affect the juicy and tender cook on the steak. So, so, so good. The vodka rigatoni was the best vodka sauce I've ever had. I must crack the code on how they do it -- I've been thinking about this dish ever since. It was smooth, with small chunks of tomato and a nice kick. Although I didn't get to eat the lobster roll in its true form due to the roll, I enjoyed bits of the lobster on the accompanying potato chips and almost lost my mind. So fresh. The sushi roll was maybe my least favorite thing we tried but it was still good so that's saying something about the rest of the food. It just felt like such a novelty to have all the other dishes we did PLUS sushi, so we had to indulge. I mean, what other place is doing that?! We were all totally blown away. I recommend booking in advance for a larger party as reservations fill up weeks in advance and the wait can be long for walk-ins. Thanks for a terrific, gluten-free friendly meal that I'll be thinking about for a LOOOONG time!
Trivoli Tavern is such a hot spot, especially in the summer with their massive patio! It's adorable with the cobblestones, but you absolutely need a reservation because it is very popular. Even so, the service was excellent and quick. We didn't manage to get seated outside but honestly the inside is so beautiful that I didn't mind. They have a couple of pasta options for vegetarians and the food was very good. I didn't have room for dessert but maybe next time!
Okay, YUM! This is such a gem with an old school hole in the wall vibe. Make a reservation far in advance or be prepared to sit and wait for a few hours (which we did). We sat in the back lobster room which was cute. Our server was great, food came out crazy fast and was absolutely delicious. Loved the rigatoni and love loved the truffle mafaldine!
This place is gorgeous with a lovely atmosphere. We sat at the bar. I got a cosmo which was very solid, nice and refreshing without being too sweet. Truffle mafaldine: 4/5. If you love truffle flavor and always feel like people don't add enough, this is the pasta for you. This packs a HUGE truffle punch, perfect for me. You can add a protein to it and I chose ribeye which was cooked to perfection with a good crust. The pasta sauce was a little over salted and the pasta a bit undercooked but I'm going to put that on them being close to closing when we ordered. I'd come back and try it again for sure. Sticky date cake: 4.5/5. This cake was hot, sweet, moist, soft, and absolutely soaked in syrup. The ice cream is the perfect addition and they have like a salted toffee crumble topping that adds a great balance to the dish. Will absolutely be returning.
Love!! Tough to get a reservation, but worth the wait as a walk-in. The dining room is super cozy and has a great ambiance, and I've also really enjoyed sitting at the "lobster bar." Steak frites is one of my favorites, but the artichoke dip is a close second. Wedge salad and vodka rigatoni were also great, I appreciated that they let us add sausage to the vodka rigatoni. I thought the lobster maki was just ok, but that might just be my preference. Wine and cocktails always great, service always fantastic. Highly recommend!
I've been wanting to try Trivoli Tavern for a while, but it is notoriously hard to get into. Since they only book 21 days in advance, I actually set an early alarm just to snag a reservation for my birthday dinner, and luckily, I managed to secure a 6:30pm spot on a Tuesday night. Tucked away in an alley with a great outdoor seating area, the place is super cute and has a wonderful, old-school vibe. We were seated inside in a comfortable booth, and from start to finish, the experience was flawless. I started the night with a classic cosmo, and right away, our server was incredibly accommodating. She was very aware of my gluten allergy and proactively asked about my comfort level with cross-contamination. The menu has many items clearly marked gluten-free, which made ordering a breeze. We shared the GF cornbread to start, which was absolutely delicious. For my main, I ordered the GF rigatoni alla vodka--all of their pasta is homemade, and you can truly taste the quality. I also got a side of the au gratin potatoes. To top it off, our server brought me my own separate side of chips and reassured me that they have dedicated fryers for their fries, which is always an amazing bonus when dining out with an allergy. They generously brought out a complimentary sundae to celebrate my birthday, and we also ordered the flourless chocolate lava cake to share. Between the exceptional food and the top-notch service, it was the perfect birthday celebration. Trivoli Tavern is absolutely worth setting an alarm for!
Visiting my son and we came here for lunch. We are a party of 5 and had reservations. We were promptly seated and given menus. Since this was our first time dining here (my son has been here many times), we took a bit of time trying to decide what to order. We decided to try the Smoked Ribs, Pike fish and chips, New England Lobster Roll and the Warm Parker House rolls. Our waitress asked if we wanted the appetizers to come first - since we were sharing we said to bring it out whenever it's ready i.e. no specific order. The ribs and fish and chips entrees were the first to be served. We had also asked for some ice for the table. We waited quite a while before we inquired about the bread and the Lobster roll. Our waitress at this point had not come to check on us - it's about 15-20 minutes since our food arrived. She also forgot about our ice request (We never did get it!). The fish and chips were delicious - crispy on the outside and tender flaky fish on the inside. It was also not greasy and tasted delicious. The chips (fries) were also well done; howeveer, it was a bit on the salty side. None the less it was delicious. Took a while to get some ketchup and "tabasco" (they do not have tabasco but did have crystal hot sauce). The smoked ribs was excellent. Nice smoky flavor and meat was tender. Portions were very generous. As to our missing food order, she was apologetic and informed us that the Lobster roll was made in another kitchen and she had to go and check on it. Not sure what happened there but the rolls turned up really fast. The parkerhouse rolls, on the other hand, did not show up. We inquired again and she was surprised and said "You still want the bread?" and went ahead and placed the order. We surmised that she probably forgot about the order in the first place! The lobster roll was delicious. It came with chips not fries. The chips were also salty. The Parkerhouse rolls finally turned up with the black truffle honey & grass fed butter (5/5). The butter was sooo good - well worth the wait. We were rather stuffed by this time but managed to eat 2 of the 4 rolls! Took the other 2 home. The restaurant manager came over to our table and was very apologetic and informed us that she took care of our table as she felt that the service we received today did not reflect their usual level of service (My son also commented that he's never had poor service here). I appreciated this gesture and feel that restaurants should own up when they fail to provide the service expected at a reputable restaurant. For this reason, I did not ding them any stars. The food was really good and it was unfortunate we had subpar service when we visited. The restaurant was cozy - they have a few outside tables but we sat inside. There are booths as well as tables. The tables are a little closer and the seats are very comfortable. Would definitely come back and try other items on the menu next time we are in Chicago!

I felt like I stepped into a 1950's movie. The lights are low. The music is on theme. The servers are in sports blazers. Even the cobblestone walkway leading to the entrance is a fun, picturesque moment. The customer service was out of this world - a 10/10. Our server, Brad C, was phenomenal, patient and a complete dream. We were a larger party celebrating Galentine's Day and no ask was too big for him. Now the food was the cherry on top. I loved the Truffle Mafaldine and sauce was delicious. The Vodka Rigatoni was really good as well. The pasta choices were the perfect mix of flavors all complementing each other. I didn't need to add any salt or pepper. It was really that good. My Peach Bellini-Tini was yummy. Not too sweet or too strong. A perfect balance. I enjoyed my visit here so much and highly recommend it for the excellent customer service and the food. read more
Trivoli Tavern does simple things right. Stopped in for a late-night snack and was met with a warm, nostalgic supper-club vibe. The chicken pot pie was the standout: flaky, crisp on the outside with a slightly gooey, rich interior, perfect on a cold day. The cheeseburger was classic and satisfying. I went in worried that this place might be overhyped, but the food lived up to the hype. My favorites were the vodka rigatoni and the French onion soup. I will say it's a little overpriced for what you're getting so I will deduct one star for that but I love the ambience of the patio area and the staff were nice. read more

Atmosphere 100%. Food display 100%. Drinks 100%. Service 100%. BUT food is SO SALTY . We prolly drank more drinks and water than eating the food cuz all we could think of is salty ! The steak was charred on the outside so even the inside was tender the outer shell made it bitter while chewing . Mushrooms and potatoes are the saltiest side dishes. Would want to come back again but PLEASE improve the saltiness. read more

Yummmm!! I've heard about this place time and time again. And before we get started... I've been pronouncing it incorrectly and so have all of the IG foodies. It's not "Tra-Vo-le" it's "TRIV-a-LE" ! When our waitress came to the table and pronounced it my head may have did a spin. The restaurant is much larger than expected. I felt like I was inside of Mary Poppins brief case once we went in the dining room. The waiting lobby is so small compared to the dinner space. It's super moody and gives ol school tavern vibes. Def perfect for date night. We visited for restaurant week and I'm so glad we did because now I'm excited to visit again and try more of the menu. We selected the coconut shrimp and Crispy shrimp roll for our starters. Both were great. The orange marmalade paired nicely with the coconut shrimp. The roll was my favorite between the two. Idk what I was expecting but it wasn't a full sushi roll! But I guess the chop sticks they dropped off should have been a give away. For our mains we selected the fried chicken and the rib eye. Again, both great. I'm a steak girly but surprisingly the fried chicken was my favorite!! It was extremely crispy and crunchy but not hard or stale. The flavor was full and meat extremely tender. Normally I don't like NON bone in fried chicken. But this was really good! My rib eye was good too. It was more peppery than charred but had a solid flavor overall. For sides we selected the steamed broccoli and the mashed potatoes. The steamed broccoli was steamed broccoli. Nothing special. I wasn't a fan of the butter sauce but the lemon really did wake it up. Even though it wasn't my fav...fiber is a must. lol The mashed potatoes were delicious. We also selected the vodka rigatoni to share. Ya know. It came so well recommended and hyped up but I wasn't really a fan. The noodle was TOO al-dente and the sauce was flavorful but something about it didn't really hit home for me. It was nice to have but definitely not a must have for me. We ended the night with a generous scoop of brown butter ice cream and a slice of key lime pie. The pie reminded me of my grandma's and I felt like a child again... wanted to wiggle my toes with joy. The ice cream was rich! Def tasted like it's made fresh back of house. Over all I could tell all ingredients were quality and food was made with care! 10/10 read more

Dare I say the best restaurant in Chicago. If you are visiting this is a MUST. To start, the French onion soup was no notes amazing. The wedge salad was also 10/10 incredible. Obviously I got the vodka rigatoni and my mom got the steak frites but subbed the French fries for the other potatoes. All which were 10/10. To end the night we got the sticky date cake which is probably the best dessert I've had ever in my entire life. If you don't order this honestly don't even come here. That's how much I recommend it. To add to the wonderful experience, the ambiance was incredible and our waitress was over the top nice. She was also from South Florida and sent us out a key lime pie with our sticky date cake. Don't let the tough reservations keep you from coming here. Just walk-in and you can probably get a reservation especially in the summer with them having more tables available with their patio. We went on a gorgeous summer day on Saturday at 5:30pm with anticipation of waiting for a reservation. We were willing to wait and just walk around Randolph St but they had a table for us at their Lobster Bar. We didn't care where we were seated as long as we got to order from the full menu. I would say the main dining room and patio is preferred bc there isn't any AC in the room and it's bar like seating with stool seating. We were just happy to have a table and get to eating! Everything we ordered was so good! The lobster sushi took us all by surprised that it was A. Available to order being an Italian restaurant and B. Being one of the best sushi we ever had! Always order the vodka rigatoni and do not share ;) get your own! You will be licking your plate. Absolutely left feeling happy with everything we chose to order and ended with the date cake with a scoop of ice cream! read more

The food was good--especially the amazing bread rolls--but the overall experience was frustrating due to hidden costs and poor communication. Making or modifying a reservation was a hassle, nobody answered the phone, and they charge an extra $5 per person fee that doesn't go toward the bill, on top of an unexpected $8 surcharge at the end. The dining room was also so dark it was hard to read the menu, and while the dishes were solid, some were overly salty or too sweet. Given the high prices and odd extra charges, it didn't feel worth the headache. read more

Yum! I've always heard good things about this place but also the long wait times with impossible reservations, but somehow we were able to snag a spot and I'm so glad we did. We tried the chicken pot pie and at first I was skeptical, but it was a burst of flavor and was quite large with a great presentation. We also got a truffle pasta which was good, but we were stunned by dessert. We got the crazy looking butterfinger pie which was so decadent and smooth with the peanuty taste and light meringue. Loved the atmosphere and vibe as well, definitely a great spot for a nice dinner. read more

First off, we came here for my daughter who just recently turned 21 and is looking at law schools in Chicago. She decided that this is where she wanted to go for her special dinner. She didn't disappoint. The food was amazing the hamburger everybody said to have , which she did - she is still talking about two days later! my husband had an amazing steak and mash potatoes , I wasn't as hungry so I went with the French onion soup, which was pretty delicious. Happy hour is on point and the ambience and all the staff were amazing. I would definitely recommend you go here. It is a little on the more expensive side , but all of Chicago is. read more
I went once and had the Spicy O pasta. I heard great things about the sticky date cake, so I went back once more for dessert and it did not disappoint. The service and staff are excellent. I came in short notice on both nights and was able to be seated in the bar area. I want to go back for so many reasons, but the quality of the experience is what makes me want to return. read more
Ok. We had an outstanding experience at Tripoli Tavern. It was a little tricky to find the entrance. It's in a little brick alley way and courtyard. Once you walk in you check-in with the hostess and you can check your coats. We didn't have a reservation but they were able to seat us right away. From reading other reviews, we got lucky. You don't see the seating when you walk in and it seems really quiet. When the hostess took us to our table, we walked into another room which was very lively with an amazing speakeasy vibe. It was a fairly large open space with a fun bar. Everything was in rich colors and dark wood. The food was amazing. I ordered the Truffle Mafaldine. If you like truffle, this was superb! A must try! Others at the table ordered the Vodka Rigatoni. They loved it and wished they had more. Someone else in our party ordered the Chicken Pot Pie which looked amazing and they thoroughly enjoyed it. I also ordered a Vodka Gimlet for my drink, which was fun & just wonderful. This is one restaurant you won't want to miss. I may go back to Chicago just to come back here for dinner. read more

Nice happy hour at Trivoli! Can't beat the ambiance here. Wish it was longer than just 4:00-5:00. Decent couple of apps/snacks on their menu as well as drinks. Espresso martini and tequila soda were both great. Fries: 3.5/5 Crab rangoons: 4/5 Good service, hate that you have to pay for a reservation! read more

This place is ABSOLUTELY worth the hype. The menu and food is exciting and came out great! The service wasn't anything special but I have no I complaints at all. The ambiance is unreal.. it's dark, moody and feels intimate. Trying to describe it doesn't do it justice. Definitely a place I'd like to return to again, I had a great time! read more
My coworkers and I had an excellent dinner experience here. We arranged for family style shared 4 courses and everything we ordered was well prepared and absolutely delicious! Memorable highlights are the house salad, corn bread, crab Rangoon, fries, truffle pasta, sticky date cake. Steak and salmon were great too but I was too full to enjoy those after eating the starters and sides. Our server, I think his name is Ryan, was great and was appropriately attentive and helpful! Decor was vintage American-Italian style with many paintings, sculptures and dramatic chandeliers. Music was a tad loud, but brought a lot of young energy to the space. This has been on my radar for so long was able to get a dinner reservation on a Monday. Love the atmosphere I was just in London and you felt like you were there and not in Chicago got there early and they were able to seat us it was still happy hour and nice they offered it at the tables too and not just the bar. I wanted to try the pigs in blanket and crab Rangoon both on the happy hour menu . Both great. I feel service was not as attentive as some of there other restaurants. We asked for another glass of wine before our entree and did not get it till almost done with our entree so that was bothering We were cel a purchase of our new house and they gave us completely sparkling and a sundae for desert very sweet read more

FANTASTIC. Before I talk about the food, I have to give Trivoli its roses for its service and ambience. The staff was very attentive and made me feel taken care of, and the vibes, WOW. The lowlight and 1920's decor make it feel exactly how you would expect a Chicago restaurant to feel/look like. Food: The wagyu burger OMG. It melts in your mouth and all the flavors truly come in. For dessert, I had the date cake which was served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Ironically, the scoop balanced out the sweetness of the cake, making it the perfectly balanced dessert. read more
This place is such a great vibe. During the summer there is setting outside which is so nice. The service is great and we got a complimentary ice cream for our anniversary. We tried their crab Rangoon was so good. We also had their vodka pasta and it was so flavorful and delicious. The steak was so good and juicy and filled with so much flavors. The fries compliments the steak. We recommend reserving ahead as it can be booked up really quickly. Definitely will be coming back here again. read more
If I could give this place 10 stars I would. Hands-down, one of the best dinners I have had in a long time. The waiter gave us several recommendations off of the menu and we decided to get all of them and every single dish was out of this world. There wasn't a single thing that was even mediocre, Everything was incredible. The salmon crudite appetizer was so fresh and amazing. The iceberg salad was awesome with the pork belly in it. Crab Rangoon's were 10 out of 10. The pot pie with the bone marrow in it was absolutely insane. One of the main highlights of the meal for me was the mushroom Casserole and I don't even like mushrooms and I was obsessed with it. The waiter was excellent, very funny and engaging. The whole experience was great. 100% will come back next time I'm in Chicago read more

Pretty difficult place to get a reservation and walk in waits are long. We were very lucky to come on a nice day and be able to sit outside. I had the French onion soup and potpie. Pretty good and filling although I prefer a potpie that's more moist. I would have skipped the mushroom side my husband and I got. It was too salty and rich. read more
Tucked away down an alley, Trivoli Tavern feels like an escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. Reservations are somewhat hard to come by so we were only able to secure ours on the outdoor patio which gave me European vibes with the cobblestones, exposed brick and string lights. The indoor has a dark and rich tavern feel. The menu gives steakhouse vibes, with plenty of proteins and seafood options alongside some handmade pastas. They even have a lobster bar and sushi rolls section of the menu. I appreciated that you could order a carafe of table wine for $19. That was perfect for us but more elevated wines can be had starting around that price for the glass. Between the 2 of us we ordered 3 items and split everything. The half house salad exceeded expectations as far as salads go. The vinaigrette was really tasty and the ingredients were nice and crisp. The Spicy Shrimp Pasta and the Famous Prime Rib completed our order. The crust on the prime rib was really tough and basically inedible but the cook on it was done well and we enjoyed the pasta. Portions here are on the normal size, not overdone, so I was still a little hungry by the time we finished. read more

Travel Tavern is one of my new go-to spots for happy hour and dessert! This place gives off a true speakeasy vibe -- old school Chicago style -- and even the walk through the cobblestone entrance sets the tone before you get inside. The service is consistently attentive, the staff is friendly, and no matter how busy they get, they move fast and take care of you like you matter. The desserts are amazing and definitely worth coming for on their own. If you love good vibes, old Chicago atmosphere, strong happy hour deals, and great dessert... Travel Tavern is a must. Went on a recommendation without peeking at the menu. Tough reservation to get, so the hype is on. The menu is surprisingly simple. Nothing jumps off the page that you haven't seen elsewhere. Went with a dozen oysters and two mains. Oysters were fresh and icy cold. Can't really mess that up. Added the Parkerhouse Rolls with the special butter. FANTASTIC. The mains were the real stars of the show. Rigatoni Vodka...? Only the BEST I've ever had. Homemade pasta cooked perfectly with a divine sauce that actually had the VODKA and a slight kick of mild heat for delectable flavor! A truly OMG plate of food. Also had the Berkshire Double-Cut Chop. Our server knew we were sharing and offered to have it sliced for us. This meat was incredible! Perfectly juicy and tender- even with the lovely crusty burn-end type finish. Served with a not-sweet and flavorful fig type sauce. Out of this world! Visited Chicago to see my friend and she told me about this must try gem and OHHHH MY GAWDDD! The service was pretty good. However, I actually wasn't a big fan of the server we had because he seemed very passive aggressive, but luckily he didn't take away from the overall experience and he still was attentive. The food was so good that I forgot to take photos. We ordered the Caesar salad, Pigs in a Blanket, Crab Rangoons, Truffle Malfadine, Sizzling Shrimp Scampi, and the infamous Sticky Date Cake. Everything was extremely good, I was really surprised at how perfect the pasta was cooked. I'd order everything again and again. Cozy vibes & unforgettable flavors, Trivoli Tavern is a must! Hands down one of my favorite dining experiences in Chicago! From start to finish, everything was absolutely delicious. I started with an espresso martini (perfectly balanced -- smooth, rich, and just the right kick!) and every single bite after that was a 10/10. I ordered the famous chicken pot pie, and wow, it lived up to the hype! The flaky crust, creamy filling, and comforting flavors were perfection. You can really tell this place takes pride in their cozy, comfort-style dishes. Between the warm ambiance, great service, and incredible food, Trivoli Tavern is a place I'll be dreaming about until my next visit. Truly a gem in Chicago! Managed to grab a resy for this place and it is sooooo worth it!!! We literally loved all of the dishes that we got and everything was so good. Our server was amazing as well!!!! I received some Hogsalt gift cards from my colleagues during the holidays. We decided to play hooky and take advantage of Trivoli's lunch reservations. I feel like if you've been to one Hogsalt restaurant you've been to them all. You're going to get great service, in a dimly lit environment. This place had elevated saloon vibes. We came mainly for the sticky date cake which is a must order every time. The balance of this dessert with the mix of textures is just perfection. I ordered the steak frites which was really good. I appreciate the consistent sear they get on their steaks. My wife ordered the prime rib sandwich. It was good but lacked a little flavor without the Au jus and horseradish sauce. We had the chopped salad which was really good and we shared the crab cake. I enjoyed Bavette's crab cake more. Overall this place was cool. read more

This place is hard to get a reservation but worth it especially at least once! I was on the website to book a reservation immediately when they became available but unfortunately did not secure one as they booked up immediately. We will went right as they opened and got a lovely spot at the bar. The location and ambience are immaculate. The meal was a bit fast for my liking, but for how many people go through there in a night I get it. My fiancé and I both loved our dishes! Unique flavors that work so well. Totally lived up to the hype! Service, ambiance and food/drinks were all top tier. We really enjoyed the Parker house rolls with the truffle butter and the wedge salad is a must! For entrees the rigatoni and the steak were spectacular. Highly recommend making a reservation way out as this should be on your list! read more

The immediate ambiance of the cobblestone was quite nice. Approaching the restaurant, you'd easily forget you're in Chicago. The service was spot-on. Our waiter was wonderful. The food arrived promptly. Dishes and silverware were all cleared between courses and replaced with clean ones. And I appreciated that they sat us a bit earlier than our reservation because we arrived with plenty of time to spare. I thought the food was really good although overpriced. When one slice of pie (that's made mostly of meringue --just sugar and egg whites) is $17, I expect the food to be outstanding. Memorable. It was good to be sure, but not as memorable as I'd hoped. I don't quite understand all the hype. The mushroom casserole was good, but salty. The Rigatoni was good. I enjoyed it. But it didn't stand out over other rigatoni I've had. My teen ordered the crab Rangoon and I wouldn't feel the need to order them again. That was our least favorite food we ordered. I do love the sticky date cake. I've had it at Armitage Alehouse and it's just as good here. I was looking forward to it all day and it didn't disappoint I'm not at all saying the experience was really disappointing. I had dinner here when I visited Chicago a few weeks ago. I can say it was well worth it, and I would absolutely come back. I sampled a good portion of the appetizers on the menu. The cornbread was some of the best I've ever had (I'm from the South so that's really saying something lol). Also the chicken sliders were very tasty. Also the pigs in blankets and coconut shrimp were also some of the highlights that I would get again. The only thing I would change would be my main course. I got the smashburger. It was fine but not amazing. I would get the vodka pasta, which I tried a bite of, instead. For dessert all of the reviews about the stick date cake are accurate. It's a must get if you come here. Service was great. We had a reservation but still had to wait about 15 minutes to be seated but that's about the only thing negative I can say. The atmosphere is just as cool in person if not more so than what you see online. Total old world speakeasy feel that they pull off in style! Very busy and for good reason! Service was great and our server seemed to manage the busyness very well, so we were able to enjoy the energy and were well-looked after! Had a martini to start and then a glass of wine. Love the fact that they point out which wines have low sulfites, extremely helpful to avoid an unnecessarily stuffy nose. :) The slow-roasted meatballs... Not pictured but absolutely incredible. Soft and flavorful, all in a beautiful red sauce. Love how they were served in a small rimmed dish - It made it very easy to serve and sauce! Then, shared the aged bone-in NY strip - Incredible. The wedge salad with the bacon and Gorgonzola was also to die for. Vodka rigatoni is a must, and the gluten-free rigatoni was also very, very good. We sat outdoors and it was a lovely evening. The string lights bring so much warmth - All of the tables with people strewn about enjoying themselves with nice company really makes the outdoor seating a nice experience. Absolutely worth the hype. Incredible martinis, amazing service, and the food is just to die for. The vodka rigatoni is my absolute favorite. The ambiance is beautiful, perfect for a date night or special occasion. While there is no dress code, I am always so surprised at how underdressed some people are coming here. read more
Stopped for dinner while in Chicago. Place has a great vibe. It has a nice bar to have a drink while you are waiting for your table and has a great local beer selection. The Pigs in a Blanket were a good starter. 5 pieces come with the appetizer and the mustard it comes with is very good. I had the spicy shrimp which was great and had lots of flavor. Not too spicy. The steak frites was also excellent. Service was top notch. Highly recommend this place. read more

That's not be a bad idea. We were asked if we had one. A place can't be busy. You can make one online through Resy.
Anyone know if this where RM Champagne used to be? One address shows as 114 and the other as 116. I'm wondering if it's the same building.
It is not the same location, but it is down the same alley as RM was.
Is it casual dress?
I would say yes, although it looks fancy I was wearing a top and jeans with flats & so were others. I wouldn't however show up in sweat pants :)
Do they offer valet parking?
No. We had to valet at Sienna Tavern and walk over.

I can speak for my 7yr old daughter who is accustomed to dining out at several WestLoop restaurants. She's always has a great time there and the staff has actually said they adored her.…
