two people sitting at a table outside a restaurant
Joanne H.

We waited a good while for a table to be cleaned with plenty available. Then when they finally took our order we waited over 30 min and still didn't get our food. Nothing fancy ordered. We feel balky got up and left after the people beside us told us they waited over an hour!!

Breakfast Menu- all day!!

This is a cool little place that serves great ice cream in Union Grove near the I-77 interchange…read more The ice cream selection is great, they will mix flavors for you too. The service is friendly and efficient, and the shop offers both indoor and outdoor seating. The seating indoors is limited, but there's several picnic tables outside. The prices are reasonable!

We had been wanting to visit for a while as other mason jar ice cream joints are usually at the beach or in large cities. Mason's has a bright and clean small interior with maybe four tables. There was no outdoor seating. The chairs they had were metal chairs that are not the friendliest for plus size people as they can be narrow and tight on the sides, but these were not as bad as most. Also, there was no physical menu that showed pictures of each of the mason jar sundaes, just the descriptions. They did have television screens showing pictures of each sundae, but you had to wait for each picture to pop up throughout the slideshow. The pricing for the mason jar sundaes is $10 each and the price does include the mason jar to take home. Compared to the prices at similar shops in larger cities and beaches, those tend to run $15 or more. We got the Razzle Dazzle, Cookie Monster, a scoop of Oreo ice cream & a scoop of coconut fudge ice cream. The scoops of ice cream were both flavorful, creamy & full of mix-ins. The Razzle Dazzle is raspberry chocolate ice cream with a slice of cheesecake on top. Cheesecake is one of our favorite desserts and this slice was absolutely amazing! The Cookie Monster was topped with two cookies that were just okay. The cookies were cakey and chewy. Both mason jar sundaes came in Styrofoam bowls so it would not drip on the table. We were not able to finish both sundaes even being shared between multiple people! They also give you plastic bags to take the jars home in.

The downtown strip is worth a trip to walk around, shop, and dine. We decided to try out Muddy Creek this year and it was a winner! The inside is pretty big and has a live music vibe with a stage and lights. No music during lunch on this Saturday (of course), but it looked like a fun place to be in the evening for music. The inside has a bit of a cabin or lodge vibe. After perusing the menu my wife went for a chicken salad croissant and I picked a ham sandwich. Everything was great including the sweet and regular fries. The beer menu was limited, but they did have a local IPA on tap. The star of the show? The maple mustard! Yep. It was epic. So good I actually asked the waitress if I could buy some to go...and she made it happen. This stuff was great on the sweet potato fries!

First time visiting both the music hall and having dinner from the cafe…read more The band was Empire Strikes Brass, and they were excellent as always. We were seating at a high top table in the music hall for dinner. We had beer, then an appetizer, then dinner. Service was not terrible, but there were not enough servers working. We loved the buffalo cauliflower, but had to order extra sauce as some pieces were barely sauced. The ranch was good, seemed homemade. My jackfruit bbq sandwich with coleslaw was the winner at the table. Quinoa burger was okay, but very bland. The regular burger was fine, fries were also fine. We had a great time dancing in front of the stage to the band, after our server ghosted us. We will go back for a good band but might skip having dinner there.
