One of the best rides still at USO. It's a sit down shooter ride. You sit in the buggy and go through the training course to shoot the alien cut outs. This ride is alright but nothing really too special. Fortunately like everything else we didn't have to wait too long. The dated feel of it really works in the preshow - I think that part was supposed to be retro even when it opened - but is more shrug inducing in its quaintness when the ride starts. Who'd have thunk one could describe a ride that's all about shooting aliens as quaint but there it is. As others have said you can't tell if you're hitting anything or not unless you're looking down at your points which you can't be doing as you're trying to look for aliens to blast. Maybe if you had extra eyes on tentacles but then you'd be an alien asking to be lasered yourself. Honestly, a Duck Hunt ride at Nintendo World would probably be a much more fun shooting ride. If I find myself back at Universal Studios I'd probably want to go on E.T. again and show solidarity by not going on the mid ride where you shoot aliens. There's more fun ways to get spun around. I had more fun on the Men in Black Alien Attack ride than I expected. If you like video games, this ride is a rail shooter (e.g., mid-90s rail shooters like Time Crisis and The House of the Dead) in real life. It's fun. It utilizes laser tag technology. I forgot how old the first Men in Black movie was until I watched the standard-definition videos of Will Smith during this ride. I saw the first three MIB movies, Men in Black (1997), Men in Black II (2002), and Men in Black 3 (2012), but I never got around to watching Men in Black: International (2019). This ride opened on April 14, 2000, so the ride is based on only the first MIB movie. This is the only MIB ride in existence. It can only be found here at Universal Studios Florida. We purchased the "2-Park 1-Day Park-to-Park Dated Adult" for $194.00 per person plus the "2PK Express" for $149.99 per person. $343.99 per person total. Those gave us all-day access to Universal Studios Florida and Universal Islands of Adventure and the 2-Park Universal Express Pass for express ride access (fast pass). I think the Express Pass is worth it. It saved us a lot of time. At Men in Black Alien Attack, we moved so fast through the entrance and line that I barely had any time to enjoy the sights and sounds around me. In fact, I hardly remember any of it. All I remember was being a bit disappointed that I got to only catch a glimpse of MIB Headquarters' immigration and controls room, with aliens at the controls (funny). As for the ride itself, we loaded into vehicles with laser guns. Our group of five had one vehicle to ourselves. Each vehicle seats six. We then went through a city, which I learned after the fact was New York City, shooting aliens. I was so focused on shooting targets that I didn't pay attention to much else, including the story. At one point, we shot at another vehicle filled with real humans because a scanner revealed they were aliens (like in the movie). At another point, we shot at a huge alien boss. At the end, we watched another Will Smith video. In the final video, he erased our memory with one of the movie's signature "neutralizers." Throughout the entire experience, it was hard to hear what he and other actors were saying. I don't think the sound and acoustics were great in that regard (probably why I missed out on the story). All that said, I did like the overall look and big scale of the production. I think this ride holds up fairly well, considering it opened 25 years ago. As for scores, I ended up blowing my teammates away. :) Note: There's a good bit of spinning, so be prepared for that if you're sensitive to motion sickness. That's the extent. This attraction is near and dear to my heart, my husband and I worked here and met here so we will always love this attraction. However, this is a really fun ride! You will need a park ticket in order to experience it. If you want to go through the express line, which will give you a shorter wait, you will need to purchase that express pass, for an additional charge. But honestly, this attraction has the lowest waits in the AM and closer to the afternoon/park closing time. For the ride itself, you will also have to put your bags in a locker. This is a requirement, and they will not allow you to ride with any type of bag on you, even fanny packs. The lockers are also free while you ride, so why not! Make sure to keep your park ticket with you, this is how you reserve your bag. Once you get in line, you are first going to go through the Universe and You. It is a quick preshow and then the fun starts. Not to spoil too much, but obviously you are there to become a men in black agent. The que line is very fun and there are lots of great photo ops and a lot to see. The actual ride is a 6 person, 2 row, vehicle that moves on a flat track and will spin at times. It is also a shooting game. You are in training to become an agent, and you are going to get your score. We always become very competitive so make sure you do your best. There are 2 tracks which essentially you are competing as a car against the car across from you. But there is also a car winner as well. The best thing to remember, is aliens can be anywhere, they can look like anything, so if you see eyes, shoot it. The best way to get points is to shoot the heads, eyes and shoulders. As you approach the end, make sure to listen and push that red button when told. It gives you 100,000 extra bonus points! Overall, this is a fun and fantastic ride. We absolutely love it. For someone who gets sick on rides as well, this one is not terrible. There are a few occasions where the spinning at the end is just too much, and I get a little nauseous but overall, I will go every single time. I just love it! read more

Honestly it is one of my favorite rides in any theme park whatsoever because I grew up riding it every single time I got the chance to. Yes it is dated and a little confusing at times but overall a truly exceptional ride that everyone needs to try at least once at universal! The entire pre-ride area is amazing with really nice animatronic aliens that are looking over files as you wait to board the ride. If you look close enough there are some Easter eggs to other rides and characters around the park here. The ride itself is a shooting ride that you need to blast aliens that are taking over New York while you are spinning and twirling in your ride. Different aliens in different areas the ride give you different points, some being only a couple hundred to others being a couple thousand! It is a lot of fun to work as a team to try to get the most points because you are battling out against another car filled with people opposite of you. I love this ride because it is very detailed and every single time I have gone on it I find a new alien or something else to get points with! It is a very detailed ride and yes it could use a little refurbishment but honestly there is no other ride I would rather have when it comes to a shooting ride because this one is so different for what you get to do! read more

This is located inside the theme park, so you do need a park ticket to experience it. Wow, this ride feels very dated now. When my family and I rode it last month, it had been the first time I'd ridden it in maybe 20 years. And you feel its age. We rode a few of the classics (ET, Mummy, MIB, etc.), and this is one that I would definitely tell people they can skip. It also might be a good ride to retire. It's sort of a track ride where you shoot aliens with a gun. I'm not sure the guns work or if the points are just random (I did so much better than my family that I found it suspicious). It felt really dated and silly and boring. Definitely not one of the highlights of our visit to Universal. I wouldn't recommend waiting (there wasn't a wait when we visited) if the wait is long. read more

LOVE this ride - it's so much fun! It's one of the laser shooting kind of rides so you get points if you shoot at the monsters and get to compete with your friends who are riding in the same car and just generally anyone you want to compete against as long as you remember your score! The ride will spin you around to point you towards different aliens and it's just a super fun and interactive kind of ride that I would love to ride again and again! The line is fun and makes you feel like you're in the Men in Black HQ place from the movies, which is super cool, and I'm not even really a Men in Black fan! I saw the first movie and barely remember it, and that's about it. So even as a casual viewer, this ride was a great time! It's also just across the bridge from Diagon Alley too, so was our first stop after leaving Diagon Alley! Love it!!! read more

This ride is such a classic. The animatronics in line still are great and there is so much detail put into the entire building. Will you score enough points to join or will your memory get wiped to return to non believer status? Sit in a cart that fits several people and blast aliens on the loose. It's great for all ages. But also keep in mind there can be a couple times where you spin around in your car pretty aggressively, so I guess this is just a possible motion sickness warning, though that could be said for almost every ride. And my last suggestion when you go on this ride, since I like to think I'm pretty darn good at getting high scores, is to reallyyyyy listen to what the narrating voice is telling you while you go to battle- it could be the difference between winning or being cosmically average! read more

Universal Studios (Florida) WORLD EXPO pavilion Our first ride inside the park. Using our Express Passes we queued up in a separate line where we didn't have to ride the elevator but instead walked up a long hallway where it eventually connected with the non-Express Pass riders. Prior to getting in line for this attraction we had to stow our personal belongings and loose articles in the free lockers located nearby the ride's entrance. This ride reminded me of Toy Story Midway Mania at Disney California Adventure Park. We came in as the newest MIB recruits and our mission was to shoot as many aliens as we can with our zappers, they pop up as we went through this dark ride that takes place in New York City, oh, and watch out because some of those damned aliens blast back. I found out towards the end that the trick was to shoot them in their eyes or shoulders (vulnerable areas). I think also at one part of the ride we had a shootout with another vehicle after passing through some type of scanner, their car had full of aliens! Agh! crazy! The shooting part was fun but I didn't do too well when our sophisticated cruiser did some abrupt turns or sometimes a full 360-degree spins. Yikes! dizzy! Someday I will max this out! High is just under 400k. This is a pretty good zapper ride similar to Space Ranger Spin but definitely more adult. Honestly it's just fun looking around at the set. Totally amazing "ride" through NYC zapping aliens. Wish the zappers were a bit more accurate and wish the targets were a bit easier to see. If you don't know what you're doing you'll never get good points. Still it's always a good time. read more

This ride will have you doing a lot of spinning and starts and stops. The entire premise is that you are a rookie for the MIB and will be initiated into their world by helping to fight an alien invasion. It happens mostly in the dark and you draw a gun from the holster mounted to the front of the ride to shoot at aliens as they appear. At various points, this results in the entire car spinning in a circle and other things happening. Truthfully, the best part of this ride is the queue itself as you trudge toward the carts. It is filled with mementos and memorabilia from the movie. It's as if you are actually inside the MIB headquarters and waiting for Agent J to come around the corner. The ride itself is not bad, especially if you are a fan of the movie and like to shoot at things. If you're not those things, this will not be as enjoyable. It's still worth a try, though. I would actually rate it about a 3.5 if that were possible. read more

This ride is fun-ish, but not my favorite. First, I do not love that you must use a locker for this ride, I understand about other rides, but this one seems like you can still hold a purse or a bag. It is a bit old, and I am not sure my children even know who the characters are, it is not a movie we watch. I enjoy the target shooting and seeing who gets the top score, but for some reason the way they spin you around on this ride makes me a bit sick. The other rides, such as the Hulk do not make me feel as dizzy, so I am not sure why this one has that type of effect. This is not a must-ride attraction for me. I often skip it for other things like the Simpsons. I would love to see some re-theming or a refresh on this ride and gift shop, there are so many newer movies/ characters/ popular themes that might go better. read more

Did you miss out on the Area 51 Raid? No worries. you can find a ton of aliens on this ride, over 125 to be exact. This ride opened in 2000 is based on the 1997 movie Men in Black. The ride queue is a Men in Black training facility designed to look like a pavilion at the 1964 New York Worlds Fair called The Universe & You - Are We Alone?. After you enter a retro looking building you go into the fair exhibit which is interrupted by an announcement telling the recruits to go to headquarters. The inside queue is the Men in Black headquarters. As you move through headquarters you pass the worms on break, labs, the weapons room, and the training facility where Idikiukup and Bob are at the immigration control center. At this point you enter you ride vehicle. Every seat has a laser gun and everyone in your vehicle is competing against another vehicle on the opposite track. At first you are trying to hit the training aliens. Halfway through the ride an alien prison ship crash lands in New York City. You then enter New York with full powered guns to try and hit as many aliens as possible in their eyes and shoulders. Hitting certain aliens causes the ride vehicle to spin. After riding through New York the two competing vehicles come face to face. It is then that you realize the other vehicle is not filled with other theme park guests, they are really aliens in disguise. You need to shoot the glowing red light on their vehicle which will cause it to spin to allow you to get more points. Agent J then comes on a giant screen alerting you that a really big bug has been found. You then come upon a giant cockroach like alien. The red button gives extra power to kill the alien. The first person to hit it gets 100,000 extra points. You enter the aliens mouth and your car spins. The final scores are revealed and the car that wins gets their Men in Black suits. Losers meet an alien coach. Agent J finishes by erasing everyone's memory. Are we alone in the universe? Of course we are! This is my daughters favorite ride. We were able to ride it twice with no lines at this years Halloween Horror Nights. My daughter is an annual pass holder so she has all of the tricks of this ride figured out. Her average score is between 500,000 and 600,000 points. A first time rider will score 40,000 to 60,000 points. My daughter told me that the score tops out at 999,999. I love the interactive component of this ride even though I am not very good at it. Thanks to my daughter and her boyfriend our car won. If you are competitive it pays to read up on the ride so you know where to aim. I think this a fun ride even if you are not a MIB fan, but seriously, why wouldn't you be? read more

A fun ride with a LOT of spinning that essentially pits you against another ride car in your attempts at shooting aliens. It is an older ride at the park, and offers the single rider option, so that line moved pretty quickly. Every seat has an attached laser gun in front of it, as well as a score keeper. I realized about half way through the ride that the laser would flash when you had a good hit. I was on an outside seat, which means I could clearly see a lot of targets, but I feel like if you wanted a super high score, you would need to sit in the front row, where your aim wouldn't be blocked by other seats, and most targets could be sighted. It's hard to concentrate on the story being told on the ride, and you quickly get a sore trigger finger by pulling non-stop on the laser, but it is still a very good time. read more

MEN IN BLACK is a shooting game dark indoor ride inside Universal Studios and I would probably rate this ride more of a 3.5, but I just choose not to ride this ride a lot because I'm just not into these kinds of rides, plus it's located at the way back of the park past the Harry Potter section. This is exactly what I described in the first paragraph -- a dark indoor shooting ride where you compete with your car-mates to get the highest score by shooting at targets and getting points! It's a fun interactive ride and it's not too crazy so if you're into these types of rides, I think it's worth but the longest I would wait is probably 30 minutes tops. My most recent visit -- I wasn't able to ride the ride, but I would ride it if waits were minimal, and I mean -- it's MIB so it's definitely worth checking out if you're into that movie. read more

A great ride with a competitive element. If you've ever been on Buzz Lightyear's ride at either of the Disney parks, it's almost the same thing. Your goal is to kill the aliens. Your given a type of weapon to get those aliens, and the person with the highest score wins! I love these types of rides, especially because my fiance and I love to challenge each other on who's going to get the highest score! This ride is fun as it spins you around quite a bit while focused on shooting the aliens, taking you for a whirlwind (literally). Another great element to this ride is the fact the queuing situation. The person working the line is in character and is sure to make you feel like you're a part of the movie and on a mission! P.S. I arrived here at about 9:30 and had little to no wait! read more

I actually enjoy this ride quite a bit. The ambiance for the ride is starting to show its age a little bit (R.I.P. Rip Torn), and I found it very disappointing that they did not do anything to refresh the ride given the new MIB: International film that was released earlier this year. Yet it's a fun and mildly interactive ride, which is a nice break from most other amusement park options. The biggest reason for my low review has to do with an interaction I witnessed between an older, heavyset counter worker in the gift shop and a theme park patron. I missed what occurred initially, but my attention was had when I saw her yelling at the patron regarding some hand sanitizer. I think she was accusing him of using it without paying for it, and while--if that's what happened--that would be tacky, it's incredibly unprofessional to yell at your customers. He was fairly unfazed and tossed some cash at her before walking out of the store, which was probably his best bet given the behavior of the employee. We were guessing what year MIB came out- because so many things were flashback to 90's and surprisingly very specifically 90's. We got in line because the wait time was said to be minimal, yeah- they must count the walk through as part of the ride- because the wait time of 25 minutes was not at all accurate. Of course that didn't take in account that the line disappears and reappears throughout your line journey- meaning you are shuffled into rooms and then out again, losing your place in line. Or one side of the massive hallway moves faster than the other, making a 30 person difference between where we were and the couple who was in front of us when we were in line outside. But the ride itself was fun- I am not sure how accurate the guns are, probably not nearly as accurate as I would want them to be. That's right- you have video game guns to shoot aliens on your adventure and the score flashes up at the end. I got the lowest score out of our row- by a huge difference too. But all in all, you get spun around on an exciting course with bad aliens at every turn for you to shoot. Good times! read more

Everyone in my group enjoyed this ride. It is not anything fantastic kind of like a carnival ride honestly BUT it was something everyone was able to do regardless of their size. the ride is there since stone age.. plz scrap it and bring a new ride before visiting you need to stow away your belongings and Locker is free, It is in sync with your waiting time till you come back so don't worry ;) but I am still wondering why they asked to keep our stuff as this is a very easy ride. even Simpsons did not ask for out stuff to stow away Just outdated. Scoring makes no sense. Good for kids but not really adult entertaining at all. There is one spot where the car spins 4 or 5 times. This is getting a bit dated now, time for a revamp or a new ride. It is good, just not as good as the new rides which are coming along these days. Ride starts and alien attacks you and you use laser blaster to knock out aliens like a shooting arcade while on a moving ride. Then you get to shoot the other ride car's exhaust port to make them spin around over and over if you are a good shot. I scored 115000 :) at the end, will smith ll pop on screen. This is one of my favourite attractions at Universal Studios and I can ride it over and over and over again. Many times, if they aren't busy, the people running the attraction will just let us keep going through without having to leave the car and queue again. That's pretty awesome! I'm not usually that big a fan of the shooting games, but I am for sure hooked on this one! Hubby and I have gotten so good at this "game" that we generally always win against the people in the other car we are playing against. Here's a tip for upping your score: Aim up high at the windows at the not-so-obvious spots. There are aliens lurking in there and they are worth much bigger points. The queue for this attraction is really cool. I still remember the very first time I went through it and it felt like I was actually standing inside Men In Black Headquarters! They don't allow you to bring anything on this attraction with you... no backpacks, purses, bottled drinks, etc. They do have lockers outside of the attraction which are free to use, so make sure you lock everything up before you head to the queue line because they will absolutely send you away to the lockers. You can't even have your sunglasses on top of your head during this one or tucked into the neck of your shirt, so unless you plan on wearing them on your eyes (I don't recommend it because it's dark during the ride), then lock them up too. This ride is a must-do for the entire family. Kids and adults both will enjoy it. Don't miss out on this one. Even if there's a long wait, it is definitely worth it! read more
