If you are a coaster enthusiast, you need to experience Stardust Racers at least once (maybe twice to experience both sides). This ride was way more intense than I thought it would be, but in a great way. It almost felt like I was having the chance to ride one of the Rollercoaster Tycoon coasters that I designed as a kid, but in real life. Also, I sort of love the way that they designed Stardust Racers to be a focal point of the park. You really can see it from almost anywhere, especially at night. In a way, that even makes it enjoyable for those who may not feel comfortable enough to ride it. 5 stars! read more

Fair warning, I have a fear of heights and hate being upside down. I hated this one. Like literally felt like I was going to die the entire time. I am not sure why. They have you put everything in lockers and then have you walk through a metal detector or wand you (I can't remember if it's both or just one) so they're super serious about that. I am probably just getting old because hubby and my friend's kid loved it. But I hated every single second and literally thought I was gonna die. Noooo it's not because of the story of the guy dying on it. I knew that wasn't related. I think it's because I hate heights and it's very tall and yeah I guess I just can't deal with these kinds of rides anymore. If you hate heights and can't stand to see yourself high up, skip this one. read more

I seriously love roller coasters. This one is phenomenal. Lots of roller coaster go slow up, but this one rockets up and pulls you down so fast! I love the aspect of the two racing rollercoasters. It's really cool to see the other one appear while on the ride. I think it goes well with the celestial theming, especially with all its lights at night. read more

This is one of the shorter wait time attraction rides at Epic Universe. Stardust Racers is a high thrill dual launching rollercoaster located in Epic Universe at Universal Orlando Resort in Orlando Florida. It's located in Celestial Park. You'll immediately see it on your right side as your going towards the Harry Potter and the Ministry of Magic themed area. The theme of this ride is that you're essentially boarding a comet. On this comet you race through the skies of the themed land called Celestial Park. This coaster has two side by side tracks. The top speeds for this ride is around 62 mph! One of the signature moments is when the two coasters invert and cross over each other mid air. The restraint system is similar to the Jurassic World VelociCoaster located over at Universal Islands of Adventure. It uses lap bars instead of the over the shoulder restraints. There is a height requirement for this ride. The ride supports multiple queue options. There is a single rider line and you can use the Universal Express system for this ride as well! Because of it's dual track design and high capacity, it's one of the more efficient rides inside Epic Universe. There are two tracks, green and yellow and both are completely unique experiences. The green track is slightly more intense. The ride during the evening is beautiful. You get to see the entire park at night with all of the wonderful lights. Universals Silver Medalist on my list! Next to Velocicoaster in Island Adventure. The stardust racer lives up to its name. Like speeding thru at 62mph (compared to Velocicoaster 70mph). I would ride this over and over if we had time. The Velocicoaster was my gold medalist from the parks. Both rides gave me a big grin on my face when we got off. This has one inversion, two tracks. Wow! Stardust Racers is one of my favorite rides (second to Velocicoaster in Island of Adventure) that Universal has to offer! It's in Universal's newest park: Epic Universe & this is the perfect coaster for anyone who likes intense, thrilling coasters! There are two separate tracks: yellow + green & we rode on the green track. Apparently, the green track has been said to be more intense, whereas the yellow track is a milder ride. Compared to the Velocicoaster, I would say the Velocicoaster is definitely a smoother ride & less "scary" because of that, at least for me. Stardust Racers goes at a slightly slower speed (62mph vs 70mph) & has only 1 inversion, but is more airtime-heavy! Still, a super fun ride but I think I can only endure riding it once each visit due to how intense it is, as opposed to when I get off Velocicoaster, I want to ride it a couple more times because it's literally such a smooth ride lol. read more

More on Epic in my Epic review but I'm glad this ride has its own page. Is it fun? YES! Even with a sprinkle of death, coaster fans will love the thrill. Why 4 stars? See below. I don't think I've ever been on a coaster where I felt in danger. My butt was probably on the seat for a total of 5 seconds(if that). It wasn't until later that I learned someone died on it back in September(literally 4 months after the park opened). Either way... being out of your seat for the majority of the ride, it's a situation waiting to happen. I love a good thrill. I love coasters but had I known about that incident before riding I might not have got on it. After knowing about that incident, even loving coasters, I probably wouldn't set foot on the ride again without knowing what kind of testing that ride has and if they have any kind of failsafe mechanisms in place. Seeing the link above, it was eventually ruled an accident and it seems not having full mobility of his legs might've contributed to the accident. With the case being closed, it's just so crazy to me that the ride is still operating and disclosures/disclaimers aren't anywhere on the ride about this incident. The employees operating this ride are yelling most of the time and the main thing they stress is to keep your head back. I kept my head back but the ride throws you around so much that it's impossible to keep your head held back the entire time. read more

BEST. RIDE. AT. EPIC. By far!!!! Stardust Racers is an out-of-this-world, high flying adrenaline rush of a roller coaster! If you even slightly enjoy a good roller coaster this is a MUST try. We went in a preview day so they only had one side running- but this is a roller coaster that has 2 separate tracks that run at the same time, reminiscent of the old dueling dragons coaster that used to be in Harry Potter world at Islands of Adventure (IYKYK). I am so happy they brought back a "dueling" type coaster. I can only imagine the fun it'll be once both sides are up and running. Everything about this coaster is truly epic (yes, pun intended). It is high-velocity without being too rough. and giving you whiplash, it goes upside down but in a way that's easier to handle, it has a couple acceleration parts, and all good fun that makes your eyes water, hair get messed up, and leaves a big grin on your face by the end. Seriously, standing in line every time a car came back after riding all the riders were in such high spirits and so happy. When you get into line, bring your backpacks and stuff with you- like the Velocicoaster in Islands of Adventure, they have lockers in the queue that you set your stuff in. And, they used facial recognition so you don't even have to worry about keeping your pass with you. After that, you do have to go through a metal detector as well just as an extra precaution. I have heard that each track of this coaster is slightly different, so it will be so fun to try out both sides, and definitely something you want to keep in mind when coming to ride! I'm not a big rollercoaster fan, and I'll probably not ride Stardust Racers again, but it is totally thrilling. I like that it shoots you immediately into the ride, so there's no excruciating climb. If you weren't in a wheelchair before you rode this, you'll be in one as you leave. ( Too soon? Don't care. ) This was probably the most intense coaster I have ever been on, but I can't decide if this or Velocicoaster gets the #1 spot. The only time I was really concerned is when the guy who sat in front of us got on and said "I've already been on 36 times today, this is number 37!" ( The ride had a 5 minute wait ) Something tells me as soon as we got off, he probably got back on many more times that same day. I can't do that, and don't recommend it. This ride is intense. Don't be that guy and try to impress everyone with how many times you rode it, just ride it a couple of times then cool down, maybe don't push your body until something snaps, eh? read more

Great coaster with short lines that move fast. You can ride this at least a couple of times during an Epic Universe visit. You pick either the green coaster or the gold coaster, both are pretty much the same. Both coasters go at the same time and have multiple times where you cross under and over each other, adding a unique twist where you get to look up (or down) and see the people on the other coaster. It's a fun ride and even better at night with the views of the park. Keep an eye out for the flux capacitors on the back of the cars. read more

Handsdown my favorite ride in the park! It was well worth the (single-rider) wait, which for some reason was lengthier than the regular line. The ride itself was fast-paced, full of twists and turns, and gave a nice aerial view of the Isle of Berk (if you managed to keep your eyes open during those exhilarating upside down spins!). The crown jewel of Epic Universe! A coaster that will be talked about amongst all coaster enthusiasts for a couple years for sure. Universal totally nailed a 3 run homer with this one. Is it better than Velocicoaster??? Heck no! It's one big drop away from being in the conversation on being the best in Florida, if not the world. Now, this is still at A++ coaster filled with speed, dueling, and pure magic. The one point where the 2 trains are inverted and looking up/down at each other where you swear you could reach out and shake hands is just amazing. It is totally not a drop/dive type coaster. It's more about the dueling and the air time. holy cow the air time is amazing. I swore I was coming out of my seat and landing in the promenade on a couple occasions. And it is wicked fast as well. Loved it. Would ride this all day. Maybe 3rd in Florida behind Velocicoaster and Gwazi but Montu and Mako certainly are in that conversation as well. read more

Extremely Unsafe for Young Riders. Please Reconsider the Height Limit. I'm writing this as a deeply concerned parent. This roller coaster was far more intense than expected, with extremely high speeds and sudden, steep drops. Midway through the ride, my 8-year-old daughter lost consciousness. She fainted and did not wake up until the ride was over. It was one of the most frightening moments of my life. The current height requirement is not sufficient to protect younger riders from the physical intensity of this attraction. I urge park officials to re-evaluate the safety standards and consider raising the height limit. Additionally, the ride preview photos never appeared at the end, possibly because of how she looked while unconscious. Please take this seriously. No child should ever have to experience this, and no parent should have to witness it. read more

For today's review, we're going to be checking out Stardust Racers at Universal's Epic Universe. This is the park's star attraction, and it's not just one of the best coasters in Florida, it's one of the best coasters in the world! Yeah, it's THAT good. So we're in for a TREAT with this one! Once we pull down the bars and dispatch the train, we exit the station and get a good view of Celestial Park. We then turn into the first launch. At first, it's a fairly weak launch, kinda your typical MACK Rides Launch, but then, BOOM, you get JOLTED back as you FLY through the 2nd half into the first airtime hill. That unironically might be a top 5 launch for me. And yeah, this is some GOOD airtime. One of the strongest airtime moments out there. We then hit an overbanked drop, and yeah, more whippy airtime in the back. Get used to all of that airtime, it's gonna be like that for the ENTIRE RIDE :) After hitting some more very strong ejector airtime hills, we then head into the coolest part of the ride, that famous turnaround in front of the station. Yeah, it's a cool-looking element, but you get some GREAT laterals here. I actually partially greyed out on my 2nd ride, it's pretty crazy. We then hit a twisted airtime moment, which yeah, is pretty amazing, very familiar to some of the RMC twisted airtime hills. We then hit the 2nd launch, not quite as good as the first launch, but still very fun. And then we hit the celestial spin, and yeah, this inversion is AMAZING. If you're on the green side, you launch into the inversion and get a crazy whip, and if you're on yellow, you get some crazy hangtime as you fall to the ground. This is ultimately why I ended up liking the Green Side more, but both sides are incredible; you can't go wrong with either. We then hit a outerbanked turn which gives some slight floater before heading down a steep turn downward. It's sooo freaking intense, you just FLY through this thing. Seriously, this has to be one of the best paced coasters ever. We then hit some more amazing airtime hills before hitting the brake run, where we cannot help but clap. And yeah, that's Stardust Racers. All the love and praise that this ride gets is NOT exaggerated, it is really that good. I've ridden a lot of coasters at this point, but out of the 200+ that I've done, Stardust Racers takes the gold for 1st place. Yeah, this is the best coaster that I've ridden! I can't think of a single flaw with Stardust Racers. It's intense, it's smooth, the airtime and laterals are incredible, it's perfect in length, it's pacing is incredible, the theming is amazing, it has on board audio. I seriously don't think anything will top this, this was truly incredible (although Velocicoaster might give it a run for its money, REALLY looking forward to that next time I go to Islands of Adventure). You MUST Ride Stardust Racers if you get the chance to come to Epic Universe. Especially at night, this is one of the best night rides ever. The best coaster at epic universe! If you look at the stats, it's not as impressive as velocicoaster (62mph compared to 70 at velocicoaster) but it is much more thrilling! I was able to loop it for a total of 6 rides for the day. Wasn't able to ride it at night but have heard that it's a must. Make sure to applaud when you go back into the loading station!
