Experience the mystery. Feel the suspense. Ride the adventure. What a cute ride! The theming is truly extraordinary throughout; dare I say, out of this world! Loved the woods to walk through and even the neat part where it can say your names in the ride. Even the ride vehicle was fun. Definitely a must see attraction when visiting Universal Orlando, and wish we still had in Universal Hollywood as I loved it as a kid as I'm on the west coast.

I couldn't believe there was an E.T ride here until I seen it. It's the last remaining E.T. ride left of the 3 Universal Resorts. The other 2 location replaced them. Here in Florida, it's been going to date for 35 years. It must has a following, rightfully so, it's a ride everyone can enjoy. You jump on a bike type cart and slowly maneuver through scenes of taken from the movie of E.T time on earth. Next the ride takes you on a short tour of E.T!'s home. Full of slow motion mechanic figures, lighting, voice overs telling the story while there are swivels and turns by the moving cart.

Big E.T. Adventure gate/sign at Universal Studios Florida. This ride was super nostalgic for me as I rode it as a kid over 30 years ago.

Admittedly, E.T. Adventure gets five stars out of me, mainly for the nostalgia factor. In the early 90s, I rode this ride as a kid shortly after it opened. I don't remember if it was this exact same ride at Universal Studios Florida or if it was the E.T. ride at Universal Studios Hollywood, but it was one of the two. Regardless, when we visited Universal Studios Florida earlier this year, I was surprised to see this ride was still open and operating in 2025. What a treat and blast from the past. I'm a sucker for retro stuff and this is as retro as it gets. This is the oldest active ride at Universal Studios Florida. It opened on June 7, 1990. This is also the oldest of the three E.T. Adventure rides that existed. The one at Universal Studios Hollywood opened on June 12, 1991 and closed on March 14, 2003. The one at Universal Studios Japan opened on March 31, 2001 and closed on May 10, 2009. We went to E.T. Adventure on an ordinary Monday around 4:30pm. The wait time on the big entrance sign said 35 minutes. We used our Express Passes and barely had to wait. The Express Passes are worth it, in my opinion. They saved our group a lot of time. We purchased the "2-Park 1-Day Park-to-Park Dated Adult" for $194.00 per person plus the "2PK Express" for $149.99 per person. $343.99 per person total. There are two Express Pass checkpoints at E.T. Adventure, one outside and one inside. We started in large groups that were transferred, in waves, into what looked like sci-fi holding cells. We then watched a standard-definition intro video starring Steven Spielberg. After that, we got in line for our personalized "passport" cards. None of us knew what those were for until after the ride. They were for E.T. to say our name at the end of the ride. My wife and I never heard our names, but I was having so much fun taking in all the sights and sounds, I could've easily missed it. After receiving our passport cards, we waited in line inside a simulated redwood forest. This forest is known for its pine smell and I definitely smelled it. It was subtle, but noticeable. There were some cool things to see and hear while in the forest, like astronauts and a Botanicus animatronic. One thing I do remember from when I waited in line as a kid was the Speak & Spell, as used in the 1982 E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial movie. We then loaded as groups onto bicycles with E.T. in a box, covered in a white cloth, at the front; again, just like in the movie. From there, we went on a fun chase through a forest with police and other authorities on our tail. It was exciting. Then, we magically elevated above the city in the pale moonlight to John Williams' iconic Flying theme song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7AR6KQOiNHA After the flying sequence, things got weird. Lol. We left Earth, went through a portal (by today's standards, a very crude portal effect, but I loved it), and ended up on E.T.'s home planet, Green Planet. This part was *not* in the movie. We rode past a lot of other extra-terrestrials and goofy-looking aliens, who danced, sang (?), and celebrated around us. Some were cute, like the baby E.T.'s, and some looked downright crazy. I loved all the colorful and wacky designs. This part of the ride was a bit of a sensory overload; well, at least for people in the 90s (not so much these days). Music, alien voices, flashing lights, water, movement, etc. Everything was done with the same old practical special effects and animatronics they used in the early 90s -- that was my favorite thing about this ride. It's so charming for this very reason. Just an hour or so prior to E.T. Adventure, we rode Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts, which opened on July 8, 2014. The difference in the special effects, animatronics, props, video quality, everything, was night and day. I'm happy that Universal hasn't changed anything about E.T. Adventure. I hope they keep this ride open for as long as possible. I've read rumors on the internet (Reddit) that Steven Spielberg / his contract is the big reason this ride is still open. On a side note, my favorite theme park ride of all time, Back to the Future: The Ride no longer exists anywhere. The one at Universal Studios Florida opened on May 1, 1991 and closed on March 30, 2007. We rode this with a couple of our friends who are Gen Z'ers. They liked it and appreciated it for what it was, but they could certainly tell it was dated. It was amusing for me to hear their takes. Even the gift shop had Astronaut freeze-dried ice cream like I remember from when I was kid. Don't change any of this, Universal, and bring Back to the Future: The Ride back. :) Check out this video on YouTube for a decent video recording of what we experienced, including the exterior gate entrance: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2vzxE9z0lHI Nothing beats experiencing the ride for yourself in person, of course, and I highly recommend it.

Four stars for nostalgia. When I visited Universal Florida last month with my mom and stepdad, it was my first time at the park in close to 20 years. I remembered this ride, and it was fun to experience something that has been at the park for so many years and that I had memories of from my childhood. Yes, the ride feels really dated. And it's one of those sort of monorail rides where you just look around you. But that's sort of its charm? And the ride was exactly the same! There's even a smell to the ride that took me back to childhood memories. If you want a ride that you can practically just walk on to (no lines to speak of when we visited), this a good break. And definitely a blast from the past.

Unclear if this E.T. Was just born, emerged from the pod, or is about to be eaten by it. Really, it doesn't matter.

In 1982, like so many other Gen X kids my age, I went to see ET with my family. I distinctly remember how ET's fingers looked like breakfast sausages, his eyes were blue like my baby brother's, and I cried my eyes out at the end when they put him on ice. Spielberg was definitely onto something, and the decades of merchandising that followed for a single movie without a sequel certainly squeezed every last drop out of it. 40 years later, I found myself at Universal Orlando with my own children and better half, waiting in line for ET the ride... What promised to be a whimsical, if not nostalgic adventure left me feeling a little disillusioned, even after suspending disbelief. I know, I know... This is one of those things that I'm supposed to except as campy and corny. But even my eight year old gave me that knowing wide-eyes look of "what the hell is this dad?" Somewhere around a left turn into what I assumed was ET's home world full of sentient plant based lifeforms. The sweeping John Williams music glued most of it together in a good way, and while the ride is exceptionally dated, we got through it as a family. I'm sure there's a punchline in here about psychotropic or hallucinogenic drugs, but this is a kid's ride, Wilbur. So we're gonna leave that one alone. If nothing else, I suppose I am in the ever-growing fraternity of visitors who can say that we went on the ET ride. Once. And therein, perhaps, lies the true giggle of this experience.

This is an oldie, but goodie ride at Universal. I always look forward to this ride as an E.T. movie fan. The ride takes you on a bike ride that mimics the plot of the movie. You soar through the air as you encounter people who want to capture E.T. The goal of the ride is to get E.T. back to his homeland. The ride is full of colorful details that relate to the movie. It's worth checking out if you are a E.T. fan.

One of the coolest rides at Universal Studios that's been here forever! For kids of all ages! A must ride every time I come to Universal! A great break from the heat for a bit as you are in line waiting to get in or wait for the story telling before you go in, get an E.T. Adventure Passport card as the attendant asks for you name and punches it in. Follow the path to the ride and give your card to the attendant... for those who want to be funny and stand out...give a funny name so you can hear it later. Take a bike ride with E.T. in your basket as you navigate around... Pay attention at the end as you should hear your name...LOL. Always a fun ride through the forest. Don't forget to visit the gift shop on your way out...cute adorable E.T. plush that wants someone to take them home! :)

E.T. Adventure is one of my favorite rides at Universal Studios Orlando Florida. This ride is perfect for all family members. The ride is based on the movie E.T. and some story parts of the secondary movie, which was in the works, but never happened. E.T. adventure is a dark ride, where you sit on a motorcycle and essentially fly around through-out the ride. You start off through a cave as you meander through the forest. You see several government agencies on the look-out for ET. One of my favorite parts of the ride is flying through the city area with all of the stars lit up. It was absolutely beautiful! It reminded me of Peter Pan. Shortly afterwards, you're transported to, what looks like E.T.'s home. There are a wide variety of different aliens and creatures you'll see throughout the ride. It's a fun ride with short wait time. One of the days at Universal Studios Orlando Florida, we ended up riding it 3 times in a row!

"I'll believe in you all my life, everyday." "E.T... I love you." ~~Elliot, E.T.

"You could be happy here, I could take care of you. "I wouldn't let anybody hurt you." "We could grow up together." ~~ Elliot, E.T." A couple weeks ago, my family and I joined E.T. on his bike chase to help him finally go back to his spaceship, "E.T. phone home", as we road our bikes, he soared us through the sky. What an adventure it was and I'm happy to say we made it out in one piece! I would highly recommend taking a ride yourself with E.T, you won't regret it! We'll be back! Now I'm craving Reese's Pieces, a favorite since watching Steven Spielberg's film!

This is another nostalgic ride. I remember watching this as a kid... but honestly E.T. freaked me out. I've been going on this ride since I was probably 10 years old... which is pretty awesome. It's a very easy-going ride, so it's not only for the "big kids" hehe.

We had a beautiful day to visit and smiled throughout the day. Some of our best moments were walking through the various city streets and seeing musical performances and dancing. The walkways were wide and we were never on top of other guests. Most rides had reasonable wait times and/or offered single rider options. The locker areas for cramped, but I appreciated how many of the wait queues were indoors, keeping us cooler and away from the rain. The Harry Potter sections were amazing, just amazing. I couldn't have imagined how it would have felt being in the middle of the space. Restaurants, both sit down and quick service, were scattered throughout the park. I loved that we didn't have to worry plan in advance to get a spot at either. My only downside to Universal Studios is that some of the themes felt outdated or just aren't favorite characters of mine. At least this helped to decrease the temptation of spending money on apparel or merchandise.

(I haven't seen a single one of those movies either!) I'm much more a fan of roller coasters than motion simulators so I like Islands of Adventure a good deal more than USF. I also like the theming more, apart from the Springfield area and Diagon Alley. The whole studio backlot/cityscape isn't as interesting to me. It's still a pleasant looking park though. The layout seems more confusing than IOA which is really straightforward and simple. Maybe part of it is this was my maiden voyage to USF while I'd been to IOA once before but there's just more nooks and crannies here. I've done reviews for most of the major rides and Diagon Alley. Simpsons and Transformers are elite, E.T. is a wonderful blast of nostalgia and weirdness we must protect at all costs, Escape from Gringotts is way overrated even if the queue theming and preshow is superb, I got no love for Jimmy Fallon or his stupid ride, the indoor Mummy coaster is surprisingly good still leaves this park's coaster lineup lagging way behind its neighbors, Men in Black is okay but not worth waiting in a long line for and the Minions shooter game was a quick diversion I never even bothered to do a review for. I'm just seeing we missed another Minions ride, a motion simulator. It was such a whirlwind of queues with almost no wait I guess it was easy to miss one. The Blues Brothers musical revue was an absolute blast with an awesome setting. And the Mardi Gras parade wrapped itself around the city streets around the diner where my sister and I ate dinner with us looking out the window and had parade to spare both before and after our meal! It went on for over half an hour. Universal didn't chintz out on that at all. Cast members, floats and flying beads aplenty. There were more shows, too, with stuff like behind the scenes on how Hollywood does makeup, stuff like that. We skipped these but stuff like this is why I wish I'd gotten my parents to this park before they passed. They'd have loved stuff like that, the Blues Brothers and the Hogwarts express. They seemed to like Islands of Adventure okay but I think they'd have liked this park considerably more. The theming, too, I think they'd have enjoyed more. This park closed a couple hours early on the weekday we visited, booked by some high rollers for a private event so we ended our day where we started at Islands of Adventure. And though I like that park more, with a Fast and Furious coaster on the way to USF I think I'd be more eager to return here and ride that and spend more time exploring and soaking in the vibes at this park.

I had heard from locals that it's a great local option over the big theme parks. Fun Spot was pretty great, for what it was. Free parking, free admission if you don't plan on riding rides, also a discounted adult pass if you only are going on rides with your kid who is too young to ride alone. The whole place was small, maybe the area of a handful of city blocks. And on the Sunday afternoon when we went, the place was quiet enough that we never waited more than a few minutes to get onto a ride. As we were only there for a couple hours, the cashier recommended the 4 ride pass for my kids, and the companion pass for me. But if one were to spend more hours there, buying the day pass online for $59.95 is quite a bargain. Not all rides were open, but the "big" rides that most kids want (the roller coasters and the go carts) were open. My daughter, who is not a big roller coaster fan, had a harder time finding kiddie rides that she actually wanted to go on, and she watched the go carts and didn't even want to try those with me driving. However, the place was small enough that I felt fine leaving my 10 year old son to go on rides by himself while I went on the Ferris wheel or the merry go round with my 8 year old. There are a bunch of food options available throughout the park. They were definitely more affordable than Disney prices! Most of the places offered souvenir cups with discounted refills, but there were also water stations set up throughout with free cups. I'd definitely come back if I had a few hours to burn and the kids didn't want to go swimming. Hopefully at some point, my daughter will change her mind about roller coasters, though!

The Knight Bus was fun enough for both my sister and I to get pictures by it with its friendly steward and his appropriate accent. I missed the low key entrance on our first go round. As I said I watched the movies in a cloud of smoke and didn't realize it was this secret fandom entrance/exit but the throngs passing through tipped us off. The greater density with everything packed so tightly together and its separation from the other themed areas of Universal Studios Florida makes this Potter themed area more impressive than its counterpart over at Islands of Adventure- even without a magnificent castle. The alleys, the shops, the hand painted signage, the dragon perched high shooting out that massive flame... I can only imagine how hard this hits if you're a Potter fanatic. And though Escape from Gringotts was pretty weak sauce in my estimation the queue and the theming before the ride experience was top notch. They really broke the bank on this, as with the great train ride in. Maybe if I ever go back I'll watch a Potter movie or two sober.

(Did a Yoshi hat come home with us? Yes, yes it did.) This space will not be appreciated by everyone - not because we don't love Mario Bros but because it is small and full of people in every corner. It offers a few attractions and it is a huge commitment to stand in line for a short thrill. We did ride Bowser's ride. It allowed for single riders. It delays regularly though - in our case a cart had to be removed and replaced on the track. It involves a lot of technology the way the game is designed. Our family of 4 did not understand the game at all and how we even gathered points. Thankfully we didn't stand in line as long and wouldn't recommend anyone else does. Sadly the other rides were not part of our day due to the lengthy wait times and in the case of Donkey Kong, so backed up that the single rider line was closed. We witnessed a lot of happy kids running around and tapping question marked boxes. Even for my older teen / adult children they stood in the space and smiled while they took it in. It was the first place they wanted to see upon our arrival.

I do miss Donkey Kong and TOAD and I hope they return soon.

My AB students were SO excited to use their reward and felt super proud of themselves the entire visit. Sadly the jump area had already closed down, BUT the staff handled everything so kindly and made sure my other child still got to enjoy. One child did go-kart round and my other child got 2 hours of arcade time. That alone turned what was disappointment into a really fun family outing. The employees were patient, friendly, and genuinely nice the whole time -- which matters so much when you're out with kids. There's honestly a ton to do, the atmosphere was fun, and my kiddos are already asking when we're going back Definitely will be back again!

Overall, I think this is a great place to check out if you are in Orlando…read more We came here because we have Legoland gold passes which means we get free admission to sea life, Madame Tussaud's, and the Orlando Eye. All three of these together took up about two hours and then we were able to go to Cafe tu tu tango to get a bite to eat. This was a great half day experience while we were visiting Orlando. There was a parking garage and parking was super easy. By that time we left around 8:30 PM there were so many cars, but when we first got there at about 5 PM there were tons of spots. They do have parking spots you can pay for in the lower levels so it seems like if you're willing to pay there will always be parking. If you want free parking, you need to go earlier because this seems to be popular for nightlife. I always appreciate when there's so many attractions together that you can walk to. This place has quite a few restaurants, some shops and the attractions all in a contained area. It was very clean and when we came, there was a huge police presence, because apparently a couple weeks before there was hundreds of teenagers that descended to the area and fought. So the place was doing a really good job making sure that everything was safe. This is a place for both families and non-families alike.

The entertainment complex has a variety of restaurants ranging in price , including my beloved Shake Shack. There are shops, an aquarium, was museum, arcades, live music, illusion museum, and several other places on the twenty acre complex I'm not sure about parking other than knowing it's free. I usually walk over from my hotel when in town for conferences. It's something to do in evening after sitting all day listening to speakers.

I was exhausted from a full day of travel the night before but their hours were flexible for me to be able to stop in on my free time. If you are just going into the gator spot you can skip the ticket counter and head right over to The Gator Spot. Staff working the gift shop have a window that opens to the entrance where they will scan your wrist band (admission is free with fun spot wrist bands). Admission just to the Gator spot is only $6. I purchased that and the option to feed the gators. I wish they had pointed out the Ultimate admission offer that you get admission, a photo & feeding for a discounted price - I did end up purchasing photos as well as some fun stuff in the gift shop. Everyone I encountered working at the Gator spot were so friendly & sweet. They have 4 alligator enclosures, photo ops, tortoise, monitor lizard & bird enclosure. It is a small are but exactly what I was looking for. I was able to feed the gators fish while going in the enclosure and posing in the pit for a photo. They had baby alligators, yearlings, 5-6 year olds and one really large guy in his own pin. At the photo area you can hold Cheesecake an Albino Alligator or Grumpy a feisty little female gator or a python. I waited for my opportunity while the photographer did some photos of the family ahead of me. It was pretty comical watching the reactions of people when they get held the animal or freaking out asking why the live animal is moving while they hold them. There was no one after me so I asked if I could get a photo with Cheesecake & Grumpy so I could make my mom a Mother's Day Card. Cheesecake was a very calm gator with very beautiful intriguing eyes, she is very mellow and would be good for those unsure about holding one. Grumpy on the other hand had been feisty all day according to the worker. She was moving and wiggling around. The group in front of me jumped up and asked why she doing that when she started wiggling. I don't know if she just liked me or if she could sense how awesome I thought this was but she was so calm when I held her, she even closed her eyes while I had her. The worker was surprised at how still she was for me. This was such a great experience and the staff was so friendly. This was a great small stop to see some gators without having to spend a lot of money or being short on time. I would highly suggest checking out if you are passing through the area.

I don't think you have to buy it but we did for $20 just to remember our time here. You can also feed them with alligator food you can purchase. I really enjoyed seeing the many alligators they had and the baby ones too. They have white albino one that's pretty cool. Then there is "big nasty" the biggest of all there. My fam and friends all had a good time and it was def a FL experience seeing these ancients beasts.
