They constantly cancel appointments last minute with little to no notice. In the office there is constantly gossip and nonsense going on.

My dental care experience is overshadowed by staff members that tell lies and overcharge customers. I won't be back.

The amount of times they called to reschedule me should have been my first indicator. First of all, the dentist is very blunt and not personable. For example, I explained to her I clench my jaw and wish to see a TMJ specialist because one of my teeth is impacted so much, it feels like I have a cavity, but there's no cavity. She says she can shave down my tooth. I said there has to be other options that aren't as invasive. All she says is "no" and that she believes my TMJ isn't bad enough but she'll refer me. I had a filling on a root canal they wanted to put a crown on, which I had heard from my prior dentist, so I accepted treatment. I wish I hadn't because the temporary tooth fell out 3 times in the span of 1.5 weeks. The first tooth fell out while I was eating eggs. The second temporary tooth lasted less than 4 hours. Again, it fell out while I was eating eggs. I asked for a different person to put in my temporary tooth, thinking that was the problem. No, someone else was at the dentist because their temp also fell out the day prior. The person that put my temp in put it in backwards and I had to be the one to tell them it was wrong. How could they not know? The third temp tooth fell out just 4 days prior to my permanent tooth being put in. Since I work two jobs, my schedule doesn't allow me to keep going back to get a temporary tooth put in every few days. Permanent tooth comes in... well it doesn't fit. They think it's because my gums grew over my tooth in the 4 days the temp wasn't there. So they cut my gums. Tooth still doesn't fit. They re-order a new tooth and say they'll priority ship it to arrive next week. It's next week- I call for an update. They say the permanent tooth won't be here until 2 weeks from now. So they lied to me and guess what? My temporary tooth fell out while I was eating a banana. I've not flossed around that temp tooth, have not eaten on that side, and have altered my diet over the last month to soft food only. Yet, the temp tooth still managed to fall out. 100% this is a dentist issue, not a patient issue. Please do not waste your time or money at this joke of a business.

I am extremely disappointed with my experience at this dental office. From start to finish, the…read morelevel of professionalism and patient care fell far below what I expected. Communication was poor, appointments were not handled efficiently, and I felt my concerns were dismissed rather than addressed. The staff appeared disorganized to my case, and the overall experience left me feeling frustrated and undervalued as a patient. What was most concerning was the lack of transparency regarding treatment recommendations and costs. I did not feel that adequate explanations were provided, making it difficult to make informed decisions about my dental care. I originally came in for a routine cleaning about a year and a half ago with no pain, sensitivity, or concerns regarding my teeth. During the visit, I was told I had a couple of cavities that were not a major concern, but I agreed to have them treated anyway. Since that treatment, I have experienced constant pain and sensitivity that I never had before. I can no longer comfortably bite into foods as simple as chicken without pain, and drinking anything cold causes significant discomfort. What should have been a straightforward procedure has turned into a year-and-a-half-long ordeal. Over this period, I returned multiple times to report the same symptoms. Rather than seriously addressing my concerns, I was repeatedly told that the work had been performed professionally and that the discomfort would eventually go away. Days turned into weeks, weeks into months, and now more than a year later, the pain remains and has only gotten worse. The treatment was redone five separate times, yet the issue was never resolved. Despite acknowledging the ongoing problem by repeatedly redoing the work, the conversation than became that there was no need to continue and that "these things happen with age." This explanation is difficult to accept considering the pain began immediately after treatment and was never present beforehand. What has been most frustrating is feeling dismissed throughout the entire process. During my most recent visit, after more than a year of consistently reporting the same symptoms, I felt as though my concerns were not taken seriously. At one point, I was even left with the impression that the dentist questioned whether the pain I was experiencing was real. No patient seeking help for a persistent issue should be made to feel that way. I have placed a tremendous amount of trust in this healthcare provider. I trusted this office to improve my dental health, and instead I have been dealing with pain, sensitivity, repeated appointments, and unanswered concerns for over a year. I want to make it clear that this review is not directed at the dental assistants or "most" of the front desk and scheduling staff. In my experience, the majority of them were kind, professional, and genuinely seemed to care about helping patients. My concerns are specifically directed toward the individuals responsible for handling my ongoing care. Is what made this such a frustrating and uncomfortable experience.

Long story short, I visited this office for various appointments three times over a three week span and all of the staff from the front desk receptionist to the dental hygienist to Dr. Shankeertha Sundaralingam were delightful. The office is clean and tidy throughout and has a television and mini fridge with water bottles for guests in the waiting area. They are currently collecting holiday letters for soldiers overseas offering stationary and pens to clients which is a nice touch. I told him that I was unsure if I wanted a dental implant or a partial plate due to my age, 70. I told him that I had contraindications for a bone graft due to psoriatic issues, an infection in my jaw and osteoarthritis. He said if I did not get a bone graft immediately, then I would limit options later for an implant. I felt bullied into a procedure I really was unsure about. I asked for gas and he said that would delay the process and he did not have time to do this. During the extraction, he broke a healthy tooth and never apologized. I was told I would get a partial plate 3 weeks after Dr. Barker damaged a healthy tooth and this did not occur. When I expressed my concern, he said I can't control what the front desk tells you. When I asked him what his plan was to replace my extracted tooth and the tooth he broke, he said he wasn't sure. He said I might give you 3 implants and a bridge. This dental clinic has a contract with the Veterans Administration and I believe Dr. Barker tried to maximize monetary gains while delivering less than minimally acceptable dentistry practices.
