Freshly baked bread with a golden-brown crust, A classic pressed Cuban is simply a must. Savory pork and the cheese melted thin, That's where the magic of flavor begins. Guava and coffee, a sweet morning treat, The best little bakery right on the street.

This family-owned business has been in operation here for more than 30 years. There are a number of places in Florida named "tropical" but I'm not sure if there's any relationship, if any, between them. This bakery and restaurant, however, has been called one of the most "authentic" Cuban cafes in West Palm. One caveat is that it is cash only. There are signs everywhere saying so -- and there's no confusion about it. They have a small counter for a quick espresso and a sandwich, but they do a lot of take out as well. We saw a lot of uber orders being picked up also. And a number of whole cakes and catering orders. We chose to dine in. Although we speak some Spanish, they spoke to us in English. And we spoke back to them in a mixture. We both ordered sandwiches -- my favorite is the media noche and he got a Cuban sandwich. Both sandwiches were large. My media noche on the typical sweet bread came pressed and warm. It was too good to leave anything left. He wound up bringing half his sandwich home, as he also decided to get some pastries -- two of their pastel de coco and a guava and cream cheese one, too. They have more than just sandwiches. There are daily specials as well as full meals. Service was fast and friendly, by the way. We couldn't resist taking a taste of the pastries immediately. I preferred the guava one and he liked the coconut -- which had a ton of shredded coconut flakes in it. Next time I'd like to try one of their eclair style ones or one of the ones with powdered sugar. So glad that we tried this place. Now we know where to go when in the area and we need a quick fix for a bit of sweet Cuban baked goods or a media noche....

Listen to me...carefully. I'm a 53 y/o Cuban man. I'm genetically predisposed to know what I'm talking about here...I've eaten Cuban sandwiches from Key West to Kennebunkport. SCORES of them. I judge all Cuban restaurants by a simple metric, the Cuban Sandwich. Today, my wife and I tried the Tropical Bakery after she saw an article about it in the Palm Beach Post. This Cuban sandwich is, in one word, PERFECTION. I was at once blissful yet saddened at the same time. Saddened with the knowledge that I had finally found the absolute pinnacle of how the good Lord himself intended the Cuban Sandwich to taste. The search has come to an end. The Cuban Sandwich simply cannot be better made. The only thing not made in house is the Swiss cheese and the damn pickle, and I'm not 100% sure that they didn't make those either. The ratio of ham to pork to cheese to bread is the sort of precision for which NASA engineers strive. You'll excuse my hyperbole but, this sandwich is transcendent. If you are within 200 miles of this unassuming little place in a corner of a little plaza that is just sketchy enough to be packing the pistol that you won't need here, just go. Shut up and give them your money (cash only) and you can thank me later. That is all.

I got the Cuban sandwich it was delicious pressed nice and hot, medium coffee and Cuban coffee. Ham croquettes with a potato filled ball. The inside is definitely your local family, friendly type of vibe the women all beautiful and very helpful I might possibly find a wife here. Food came out quick it's nice and clean a nice flow of people that's how I knew the food was good. Definitely 5 star Latin bakery. My Cuban sandwich was perfect. They do have indoor dining with a decent breakfast they feed you a lot.

This bakery and restaurant has been in business since 1989. We had the pork and chicken platters. Plenty of parking. There is not a long wait for food. The waitress was a doll. She only speaks Spanish. We had the chicken empanada. It was good. Not dry like many places make it. Papa rellena was tasty. Filling had a lot of meat Chicken plancha was cooked perfectly and the pork was seasoned nicely. My husband had the rum cake. He did not enjoy. It was too sweet. The flan is good Prices are reasonable so we will definitely return.

We discovered this place when we had lunch next door and saw they were busy so we decided to try at a later time. I did however purchase some Cuban Pastelitos to take home that day. We decided to return for lunch a few weeks later and were fortunate to find a table that just opened up. Our server quickly approached and gave us menus and took our beverage orders. They have traditional hot meals as well as traditional sandwich offerings. This visit I chose the Cuban sandwich while my wife went with one of her favorite Media Noche sandwiches. The sandwiches arrived in a reasonable amount of time and were quite large. My Cuban was packed with meats and tasted just as good as those I have enjoyed in my hometown of Hialeah! It is interesting to note that this Tropical Bakery & Restaurant has been here for over 30 years and has been recognized as one of West Palm's authentic Cuban Cafes. I would venture to say that the takeout and pastry traffic is just as busy as the dine in (they do have a small stool counter) business. This a "Cash Only" establishment, but believe me, it is worth every penny for what you get and enjoy! ... and YES, I did order three pastelitos to take home, one of which was attacked in the car by my wife ... :-)

OMG! This place is awesome! You have to try it to experience it. The ladies working here are soo nice and helpful! This will be my place to go when I come to PBI or WPB in general. Keep up the great work guys!

We waited a bit and were able to get a parking space. Once inside, the first thing you see are the cases of amazing baked goods. They had a really good selection of mini pastries and I chose a chocolate eclair. The pastry was light and airy, a perfect contrast to the sweet cream filling and chocolate topping. My husband got the elephant's ear, which he said was light and flaky. We each got bacon, egg, and cheese sandwiches, mine on a fabulous, sweet, and large croissant. Oh, so good! The egg was thin and folded, just enough crispy bacon, and a slice of white American cheese. I was a big fan of this sandwich! My husband had his on Cuban bread, and the sandwich was grilled. He loved it! They also do great coffee drinks! I give them an A+ for offering all their coffee drinks in decaf. I had a cafe con leche, which was rich and smooth. My husband had an iced cappuccino, which I have to get next time. They topped the drink with a pike of whipped cream. He drank every "last tasty bit," as he described it. In addition, the staff is very friendly, sweet, and helpful. We highly recommend Enzo's.

The ambiance was quaint and inviting. The bakery case is incredible, with a huge selection of pastries, cakes, and other sweet treats that make it hard to decide what to order. Seating is a bit limited both inside and outside, so I could see it filling up quickly during busy times. For breakfast, we started with the bacon, egg, and cheese croissants, and they were outstanding. The croissants were buttery, flaky, and had just a subtle hint of sweetness that made them even better. I paired mine with a perfectly made cortadito, which was the ideal complement to breakfast. Even though we were already full, we couldn't leave without trying dessert. We ordered a slice of cake that was a combination of flan and tres leches (I wish I could remember the name). It was so rich, creamy, and delicious that I had to force myself to share. After seeing all the Latin-style sandwiches coming out of the kitchen, I already know what I'm ordering on my next visit. If you're looking for an excellent breakfast, authentic baked goods, and great coffee, Enzo's Cafe & Bakery is absolutely worth a visit.
