Well, it's been sometime now and felt it was definitely worthy of writing a negative review. I will start by saying my wife and I have stayed at the Tropical Resorts more than a few times. Further my parents and In-laws have also stayed at the Tropical Resorts more than a few times. In November, 2021 my wife and I stayed for 4 nights which totalled $1200.00. After check out in the morning, we stayed in the area. Later that afternoon we were in a coffee shop in Sarasota, and my wife realized that she left her two piece rose gold & white gold diamond necklace w mother/baby daughter behind. She knew exactly where she left it. (On the bookshelf type shelving separating the room from living area.)  She called the front office, identified herself & gave an exact description of her sentimental piece of jewelry.  After about 10 minutes, the attendant that answered the phone got back on the phone and said, "We found the thin rosegold chain w a "C", is that what you are missing?" My wife said there is a mother/baby charm with a diamond on a white gold. The two pieces were essentially attached together.  As the conversation continued, I drove toward the resort.  The attendent stated that was all the maid found.  The attendant then put the manager on the phone who said the maid left for the day, and it was her day off the following day.  My wife advised that we were going to be on the way and would call the police for a report. This clearly wasn't missing, it was STOLEN. The low-life maid (as the Manager informed us she had been the only one in the room after we left) figured to take the part w the white gold charm & diamond and leave the dainty rosegold necklace behind. Seriously, I could have given the loser $300 cash, so they could have skipped the 2 step process of being a thief and then having to sell to a pawnshop. At No One Point did we ever get any type of compensation from management.  I am aware it is not the managers fault. But they have continously sent general emails to their customers offering a fourth night free with 3 night stay.  REALLY? With this being said management could have issued some type of refund for one of the nights seeing my wife was so upset for having something so sentimental STOLEN from her. It's wrong and Unacceptable. Not us, nor our families will ever step another foot on their properties. This is a review of absolute truth. 100 %. If you are thinking about reservations, you should really reconsider. If it happened to us, it could definitely happen to you.  Know that even though management didn''t take it, they did not care to resolve the problem in anyway. Clearly they showed no concern or respect for their guests.  As for the person that took the piece of Jewerly, the man above will take care of that. read more

I have stayed here 3 times now. The people at the front desk super nice super helpful. The rooms are decent has a kitchenette which is nice and you can walk to the beach. You can rent chairs and bikes and paddle boards. There's a trolly that will take you to town. You can walk to the coffee shop in the morning . We do honestly love it here. I am from Florida. I am aware red tide is present.. what's disappointing is not one of the resorts over here have anyone on clean up for the dead fish everywhere. Flys everywhere. This is a private beach why is no one out there doing clean up like other hotels down the beach? I mean the smell is awful it's honestly makes you cough. I feel bad for people who spends thousands of dollars to come to Florida, and siesta is truly a gorgeous beach but this is what they are getting? I can't understand why there's no maintenance on the beach helping clean up for guest to enjoy their stay. Due to red tide the pool is packed out.. It's not a large pool and many people came and had nowhere to sit so they went and go their beach chairs. There's no music playing there's no drinks being served. Luckily we had our JBL boom otherwise it was just awkward silence or listening to others conversations. Anyway we will avoid Siesta during summer from now on but will likely stay again maybe in like October. read more

With a 3YO I was worried that we would be far from the beach but they put us in a room that was a 3 minute walk from the beach. Yes! Yes! Yes! Stay here if you're going to Siesta Keys for a quiet getaway. Even in spring break, this is far from the crowds yet on the best stretch of the beach. On a calm day, you can snorkel just steps from your front door. So quiet and laid back, the only place I'd stay if I come back to this island of condos. Trust me, I searched for months, waiting for something "reasonable" to be available and though it seems pricey, this is an oasis of charm and rest compared to the $200 motels nearby. You get a full kitchen, a staff that goes of their way to help and a location that steps from the best part of the beach, in my opinion. We walked all the way from this end to the north end and this end was more natural, serene. Although it draws a big crowd, the number of people are limited to part of the beach due to .... lack of public parking. The crowd parks 3 miles north at the public lot so you get the best beach with less crowd. read more

We have stayed here many times and love it. 3 min walk to the sand...ahhh. The staff is always very accommodating, the rooms are clean, and offer lots of ammenities. The rooms we've stayed in were modern, had full kitchens, and had the little things that vactioners often forget. There is a food truck who sits in their parking lot each day if you are hungry, but don't want to leave the resort grounds. Or they are located within walking distance from a great pizza place or our fave...the Sniki Tiki. The best thing? They have free yoga each morning on the beach. We were on a business trip and needed a place to to stay last minute so I found this place that looked like they had pretty good reviews. Once we arrived the front desk could have been a bit more friendly but she changed her mood later to a more pleasant tone. Since we were checking in later and leaving the next day we just booked a standard studio. Bad idea since those rooms are older and in need of renovations. We walked in and walked out from the strong chemical cleaning smell that was trying to hide the mold. The lady at the front desk acted like she's doing me a favor by moving me to the designer efficiency room that costs 10$ more to book. She told me she wasn't going to charge me for it. Well if you took care of your other rooms I wouldn't of had to move in the first place. This hotel just reopened and there was barely anyone there so moving us to another room was not hard. The new room smelled better since it had central air but again they just reopened and forgot to maybe tidy up and clean up the dust. The bed was old and you sunk in. Overall the hotel pros are the rooms have kitchens and they are walking distance to beach. If they just renovated and updated the place then it's worth the money they are charging in high season. If you are going to book I suggest booking the higher priced rooms. read more

I highly highly recommend. My parents loved it so much. The room was all clean and seemed to be updated. They have the private access to the beach so it wasn't crowded at all. They even let u borrow beach chair for free. They even let u use beach towels for free too. Also u get an assigned parking, so never have to worry about your car. We used Expedia to book this hotel during the low season... so we got a good deal... the hotel is not right on the water... but it only takes about 3 minute walk to get to the beach... and since it is far away from the main / public beach access it is a very calm side of the beach. There are a few restaurants in the area... but the main shopping / restaurant area is about 3 miles north... you can easily do it with a bicycle... or there are this electric-car taxis that work until late at night that will take you back and forth for about $3. The room we stayed in was small... and looked a little run down... but at the same time it had that beach house feel to it... we really loved it... It appears all rooms get at least one car parking... but is tight... and if you have more than one car... well... I am not sure what you are going to do with it during the hight season... read more

One of the last 'motel' style resorts on the key. Clean rooms. Friendly staff. Pools are great. They provide towels and beach chairs. Free movies. Free coffee and shuffle board. Great courtyards with gas grills. Easy guest parking. Mostly a mix of families and old folks, with a few younger Euros mixed in. You walk maybe 100-200 yards to beach access. I do not understand why others are complaining about that fact. You are right at 'point of rocks' which is a decent fishing spot. Powder sand. Shallow waters make it safe for the non swimmers. During off season you can get 140-150$ queen. Perfect for us and our five year old. Full kitchens. Large bathrooms. Location is amazing. Grocery, liquor store, pizza... all within walking distance. Lots of delivery options as well. You can take free ride (must tip) to goto Siesta village. Takes 3-5 mins. Yes you are going to pay high rates during season. It's all about location. My husband and I stayed at this resort for one night. When we checked in, I mentioned that we were meeting friends from California to celebrate my birthday that day. We left for lunch, and when we returned to go to our room, waiting for me was a birthday card and bottle of wine! Absolutely fabulous! So in addition to their thoughtfulness, they were positively the kindness people to be greeted by at a hotel. There are so many choices to stay at on Siesta Key and we tried to research as best we could and booked 4 rooms at the Sara Sea property. We were so glad we did!! This place "gets-it" and knows what it takes to deliver great service and more importantly, great rooms. Our group had some pretty picky folks and they were impressed. it was like a high-end condo. We were surprised by the amenities and features in our room - just a queen bed. It had a full size fridge, stove/oven, dishwasher, micro, coffee pots, etc. It was fantastic!! The grounds within the resort were amazing with a lot of public spaces filled with palm trees and lush plants and flowers. The free beach chairs and towels were great and met our needs perfectly. Although we were not right on the water, it was a short walk. The beach area did get pretty packed and to walk from the start of the beach area to the waters edge involved walking around, over, through and between other groups large spreads of blankets, canopy's and chairs. But the beach was VERY nice, and the water was amazing. read more

I can't say enough nice things about this resort. The comforts of home with the ambiance and amenities you'd expect for the price point and then some. The staff is friendly and welcoming. Housekeeping is on point and leaves plenty of toiletries after each cleaning service. The room itself feels like IKEA went to the beach, which I mean in the best sense. We were there for a brief mid-week getaway for our 3rd wedding anniversary, and there was a bottle of wine waiting for us in our room. We arrived late, but they had everything we needed in a dropbox by the office. They simply allowed us to complete the registration process the following morning. If you're in Siesta Key, this place is perfect for a romantic, relaxing escape. This is probably the nicest resort/hotel we've stayed at. The room had plenty of space and a very comfortable bed. It was nice to have all the cooking utensils necessary to cook a meal, not that we cooked very often. The beach access is super close to the rooms, even though you can't see the beach from your room, you're still able to be the first people on the beach in the morning. There was also a super friendly cat that lounged around the hotel... I would take him home in a heartbeat if I thought he wouldn't be missed here. His name is Simba if you're wondering. Around the hotel, there are several great places to eat. For breakfast, I recommend the Toasted Mango Cafe, and if you're an ice cream junkie like us the Orange Octopus didn't let us down... and we went three days in a row. The main office has complimentary movies, coffee, beach towels, and popcorn. The staff here was great and I couldn't recommend this place enough. We will be back. read more

We had paid for a one night stay 4 days prior to scheduled date. My wife fell and broke her hip 2 days prior to our stay. She was in the hospital and then rehab facility for the next 2 weeks. I had called immediately from the hospital to cancel our reservation. They would not refund our paid reservation. Said there was a 7 day non refundable cancellation policy. We had just made the reservation 4 days prior to the stay. They said injuries, being in the hospital event that if you have Covid they will not refund. Unbelievable. This came from the General Manager that who did not return the 2 days of message calls I had made. I would recommend you look to stay at all the other choices at Siesta Keys that want your business. read more

We stayed one night December 12th into December 13th, our last day of our 2 week vacation! I spent about 30-60 minutes researching a place to stay, reading reviews on TripAdvisor and other places. I was convinced ! Our stay was perfect. Check in was easy. We were able to check in at 1:30 PM with our toddler. The communication at the desk was pleasing. Megan immediately called housekeeping and they brought us a pack n play as we entered the room. I was impressed with the organization of the instructions and information about the resort hotel; Informative and offers to go above and beyond to make your stay enjoyable. I also felt like Megan didn't make us feel like we had to prove ourselves that we deserved a nice room, sometimes you sense that from some hotels. Our room was exceptionally clean and modern but quaint. Reminded me of a room we'd find in Hawaii! The attention to detail was greatly appreciated. I got an incredible deal on Hotels Tonight and this room really did offer 5 star service. It has a full kitchen, even a toaster! My son was happy his waffles could be cooked! They have plenty of mirrors and I love the flowers and wooden decor. The bathroom is large and there were extra towels under the sink in the cabinet. We didn't need to call for anything, which makes everyone happy involved. The room is large. We had room 187 and just loved loved loved it! Considering we had a two week vacation and had enough room to organize our luggage before take off with a toddler should explain how large our room was. It's like a studio suite. I also loved the brand of the products they use in the bathroom. Bath and body works Stress Relief. Love that smell! They even have make up remover towels for us ladies! I loved the white shutters, they open and close so easily and allow for a lot of light which I appreciate. There's a couch and a coffee table too and a kitchen table and huge refrigerator! The view outside of our bedroom window was beautiful with a large palm tree plant. Gorgeous! I also observed there's lounge chairs outside in the courtyard near beautiful trees and plants where I noticed a couple was taking advantage of reading and basking in the sun. It's very quiet here, another plus. We didn't walk to the restaurants but we could have. We drove to Siesta Beach and allowed our son to play on the playground there and we had dinner at Gulligan's which was kid friendly and great food! If we had stayed longer, we would have taken advantage of this hotel more and walked to the nearby beach and neighborhood and borrowed some beach toys. So many things about this lovely hotel made our last day of our vacation so special and we really appreciate the hospitality we felt. read more

I'm going to put a detailed review because I think it will help others decide on this spot. I have stayed at all types of resorts 3-5 stars. Although this might be considered a 3 star resort it is still a great place to stay if you have a family and don't want to pay 5-star rates. A few negatives: there is no bar on the resort and you have to rent beach lounge chairs and umbrellas which will cost you about $50 a day for a family of 4. Also you need to get to the beach early or they rent out fast during busy days. On the positive side, the beach is beautiful. Great sunsets. White sand clear blue water. Lots of rental possibilities like body boards kayak jet skis, etc. it's close to bars and the liquor store is right across the street so it's easy to get and makes up for a lack of bar. Great restaurants with live music and karaoke in the area. The room is very clean. Towels are plentiful. There's a free (tips only) bus that will take you to the Village which gives you more access to bars and restaurants. I would highly recommend this resort! read more

We were looking for a nice place to spend the weekend on the beach and we found it. Would definitely come back again. Stayed in a 1 room suite with separate living area and kitchen. Suite slept 4. 2 in the bedroom which has a queen bed and 2 on the sofa bed. Room was exceptionally clean and I appreciated the Bath and Body Works toiletries left in the bathroom. Kitchen has everything you need to cook simple meals. Room included a DVD player and check-in office has complimentary DVDs for guests along with complimentary popcorn. Rooms are just a walkway away from the private beach. Lounge chair and umbrellas are available for rental. Office also provides complimentary beach chairs and towels for check out. Pools on site are heated. There's also an area where you can grill and sit out outside. Overall, a great place that I would definitely visit again. read more

After staying at Tropical Beach Resort, I plan on coming back again and again. Honestly, I already had decently high expectations but boy did they go above and beyond. The resort was full of wonderful and very useful details as soon as you walk in the registration office. We were immediately greeted and check-in was simple and painless. Lynn was informative and directed us to brochures and maps etc to keep us entertained through out our stay. The office was wonderfully stocked with lovely goodies such as delicious coffee (specifically Jamaican me crazy) bottled waters, lemonade, snacks, movies and popcorn. Upon arriving at the room it only impressed us further. We had brought some cooking utensils from home thinking we would need them but the room was beautifully stocked with everything you'd need and more. The interior design was perfectly arranged and nicely decorated. It quickly made us regret only staying one night. On Wednesday morning they even offered complimentary beachfront yoga which we took full advantage of. I could go on and on but this place will forever be bookmarked on my Yelp. Fantastic stay! Lynn and Britney are probably the nicest front desk ladies ever, Lynn gave us all the info we needed for our stay when we checked in(including a list of recommendations). We got an upgrade+we could check in earlier, the room was impecable. The pool is pristine and they have free drinks at the lobby. I stayed for Labor Day weekend and it was an absolute pleasure! The room was very clean, huge bed, and an amazingly affordable price. Truly just steps away from the beach. They had wonderful amenities included too, such as the beach chairs, a huge shelf of DVDs you can check out, coffee, water bottles, etc. Also, the staff was very friendly! They even allowed me to check out an hour later than scheduled. The only downfall, which was not the resort's fault of course, was that there's red tide right now. Even then, the sand was beautiful and the beach was actually very nice (and didn't smell like I anticipated). Overall, I will DEFINITELY go again and recommend this place to anyone. read more

I'm not sure where to begin because everything was perfect and Tropical Beach Resorts property was gorgeous and this was just upon pulling up to the Resort. We have been going to Siesta Key for day trips for the last 12 years. We come down from Long Island every year and we are so happy we found this gem of a vacation place. We were greeted by Lynn who was so warm and friendly and showed us everything we could want or need on the property. Our room was amazing and there was nothing that wasn't thought of when preparing it for a guest's stay. The two minute walk to the most beautiful beach in the country was a breeze and just breathtaking. The only bad thing I can say is that the vacation had to end. We stayed five nights at the Sera Sea Inn, part of the Tropical Shores Resort. The room was large, clean and comfortable with a full kitchen. There's a nice patio with a table and chairs surrounded by tropical plants that give it lots of privacy. Just a minute or two down a path is one of the most beautiful beaches there is. The pool is quite small, but who really needs a pool with that incredible beach. The office staff were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again. read more
