Food was okay but the service is extremely slow and there is no order when you're standing there waiting to be served. It's located on a Main Street so finding parking is pretty hard sometimes. Experience- Called to place an order for pick up, was told to use GrubHub. They only do phone orders for delivery and outside of Paterson is $8 add'l charge. I went there instead to pick up and save $8. Not knowing where the line started, 2 people went ahead of me without asking. Once you're in line, Expect to wait! Nobody rushes for nothing. You may not have the nicest in people in line with you either. Oh, and the owner has the right to change the prices as she feels depending on who is at the counter. I've been eating here for many years back to when they first opened but I'm sad to say that the quality of the food has fell COMPLETELY off. I used to go there mainly for the oxtails but after awhile the price increased *which is fine* but the amount of food decreased. So I tried other things like the curry chicken, curry goat, and roti. Which is all very good but again if the price increased I would expect for the portions to either stay the same or increase. I was very disappointed today when I went in and was literally given bones for curry chicken. I went back and was offered more but I doubt I will continue to support. If I could give them no stars I would! So today my coworkers and myself decided on ordering Jamaican food. I went on GrubHub to see if there was any Jamaican restaurants that would deliver to my job. We saw the only option was Tropical Delight. We were very excited to place an order as the food online looked delicious and saw the great reviews. I places the order at around 12:30 which GrubHub sent me an email stating it will arrive at around 1:30 or so. This was not a concern nor was the $4 fee they were charging us for a delivery fee. As 1:30 rolls around the driver called me and stated he was lost which is understandable because if you aren't familiar with the area you can get lost. The driver comes and my coworker took the bag of food from him. My coworker places the bag in our break room and I go to check out the bag. I take everything out of the bag which was chicken roti, goat curry dish with plantains and noticed our three beef patties and roti skins was missing. I called up the restaurant and explained to them part of our order was missing. Whoever the woman was on the phone was very rude. She insisted all the food was there which I then again said it wasn't. She stated she was going to call the driver and talk to him. As I was assisting a client the same woman called back but I didn't get to speak to her was talking to my coworker and was rude to my coworker as well. Stating we had all our food when there was nothing missing. Just seconds later the driver calls and talks to my other coworker who partaken in the order as well. He then tells her that the beef patties were there. So both of my coworker are talking to two different employees from this establishment pretty much calling us liars. I told my coworker to tell the woman we wanted our money back and which she hangs up on my coworker. We called back the restaurant again because they didn't give us an answer so we told them again we wanted our money back. It was around 3:40 pm the driver comes back with our money and my coworker gives back the food. The driver takes the food from my coworker and throws the food away in our garbage can. I have never dealt with such poor customer experience in my life and with people this rude before. It was our first time ordering from here and in which we will never order from here again. Why would anyone lie about missing food is my question? Also how could these rude restaurant employees talk to customers in such a way. Just a TERRIBLE experience!! read more
