Great heartwarming Cuban food. They have all the classics. Prices were good. Restaurant is old and divided oddly, but does the job. Table service is slow, but you do have the buffet option, so choose that if you're on a time crunch.

So after a long day looking at the cows in front of my office (the famous Miami Lakes Cow Field) I was really hungry! It's located in a strip mall in East Hialeah, and especially now in times of the Rona it is not fancy. As it were, I think it's been open since 1982 so that counts as an institution. They have a cashier outside taking orders, and I went to lounge in my car listening to my Freestyle station (just like the old days). I had my delicious cow ready to enjoy about 15 minutes later, and went home. As with most local places, the "completa" has a YUGE bed of moros (black beans and rice). The moros had the perfect amount of grease without being soggy. I ordered both the maduro (fried sweet plantain) and the tostones, and also took my mom some croquetas (she said they were very tasty to mention on "El Yelp" :) The tostones had a good crisp and the maduros nice and sweet as well. My churrasco was thick and juicy, and the chimichurri (two packets) definitely had a little bit of a kick. I love it when places don't skimp on sauce! Besides the sweetness of the plantains, I enjoyed their flan of course. It was a little firmer than jiggly, and had the right amount of sweetness. During normal times, it's supposed to be open 24 hours. I can definitely see myself stopping by (well having my Uber) drop me off after coming from a nearby brewery or a quick dinner after work. I'm glad for the chance to support local business.

A living legend in Hialeah. Ambience literally looks like the Scarface movie. But the movie is delicious. The pan con bistec is amazing. So flavorful. The chicken milanesa can feed 2 villages. It's literally the largest chicken breast ever! The breading is light and had a nice thick slice of ham on it with the Marinera sauce. My husband talked about coming with his dad when he was a kid. The rest of the restaurant is a food by the pound place. You can literally get any Cuban food hot and ready.

This place never let me down when I am in need of some good Cuban food for a decent price. Even during this epidemic, they still are giving top service. I ordered the Tropical Sandwich which is a Cuban sandwich loaded with the works... sweet ham, pork, chorizo, bacon, Swiss cheese, lettuce, tomatoes. Did I mention that it came with 4 sandwiches and plantain chips( ordered the complete). I was only able to eat just one.. well worth the price!!

This spot continues to be great for delicious Cuban food at great prices. They are following COVID-19 protocols and I felt very safe.

This place is divided into two sections; walk to your left to enter restaurant or stay to the right, choose what you want and take it to go.

La Casa Del Churrasco! The House of Skirt Steaks! I've never had their CHURRASCO but will definitely consider it the next time I visit. This restaurant is open 24/7! There's two areas to the restaurant; you can sit down and eat (waiter/waitress will attend your table) or you can just walk down the take-out isles, choose your protein and two sides. They have side salads available (I've only seen two options; small chicken breast salad and avocado salad. Normally the folks that come to this restaurant will choose a protein, choose rice as their first side (moro, congri, white, or yellow rice, then choose a second side which is usually fried sweet plantains (maduro). If you don't speak Spanish you will have a hard time communicating with the Cuban women that work here. I'm pretty sure no one within the walls of this restaurant speak English. This is a Cuban restaurant/food by the pound joint therefore all the workers are typically Cuban. They have plenty of desserts ready to go for your sweet tooth. The food here is always fresh and delicious. There's plenty of parking inside the shopping center where the restaurant is located. There's even more parking available after hours because it's the only 24/7 spot within the shopping center (although I think there's a nearby laundromat that might be open late as well). I usually go for the healthier options instead of the deep fried food items. I've never eaten in the sit down section of the restaurant. I normally grab my food to go when I visit this restaurant. Again, they're open 24/7 so Taco Bell will never be an option for fourth meal (ok, there's nothing wrong with a Steak Quesadilla, Chalupa, Cheesy Gordita Crunch, or even a Doritos Locos Taco every once in a while for fourth meal). I personally have never had a bad experience here. I'm very straight to the point and the workers here sense that. I'm in and out and the service they provide allows me to do just that. Will continue to visit this restaurant for a quick bite (even during late night hours or should I say early morning hours of the day). Thanks "La Casa Del Churrasco" for being open at all hours of the day and providing the City of Hialeah good food at affordable prices.

20 years ago I would come here to eat with my family for a quick lunch, but after a few years we felt it went downhill a bit. Recently, the guy I was dating took me for an "after club meal" & it's perfect for it. We had a Cuban sandwich & the pan con bistec. Don't expect 5-star service, the servers ask for your order & just leave. They don't check in after they take your food. But for 3am, I didn't really care for all that anyways.

I'm giving 3 stars for the service. Our server was nice, but there were a few things I wasn't too happy about. We were offered still or sparking water, so I said "still". I should've asked for tap water but it didn't cross my mind. The water was $12 which was a surprise since it was almost the price of the food! When I paid by card, the server with the credit card machine was on the phone speaking with the manager in Spanish. The screen of the credit card machine was faced away the whole time so we wouldn't have been able to see the total. It was a bit shocking being charged almost $37 for one dish that cost $17! The service charge is ~20% and already included in the bill. Even though the food was good, I felt a bit icky from this experience so I won't come again when I'm in Miami Beach. If it was only one of the above I would've been able to brush it off easier, but the combination of being charged for expensive water + not being shown the total before being charged + server being on the phone + 20% service charge before tip was quite a lot. I sat outside and it was really nice being right on the sidewalk and people watching! Cute restaurant and great location right in the heart of Miami Beach.

Our favorite time to visit is Sunday brunch, especially since they have a special menu. We recently came for Father's Day, and even though Julio was celebrating as a father himself, he was working incredibly hard to make sure every guest had a great experience. You can really see how much heart and dedication he pours into his business. As expected on Father's Day, there was a bit of a wait, especially since we were a larger party, but none of us minded. To thank us for our patience, Julio generously brought out croquetas for the table on the house, which was such a thoughtful gesture. I can't recommend Trigo Café enough. The food is consistently excellent, the service is warm and welcoming, and the atmosphere feels like home. While brunch is our favorite, their lunch and dinner are just as great, and the new tapas and wine area they recently added is a fantastic addition. If you haven't been, you're missing out!

Great music and friendly staff. What we ordered- Croquetas 10/10 - Soft creamy inside and lightly crispy on the outside. Drizzled with a aioli style sauce. Juicy, tender and cooked full of so much flavor. The rice was perfect not sticky just perfectly fluffy and not oily and the beans are exactly what I always hope to be served at any Cuban restaurant. However,…read morewith slow service and nickel and diming (18 percent automatic tip) and smallish portions I don't think I'll be back. Having had a quick workday lunch and walked around the mall, I had worked up an appetite. I was seated in a corner table for two and my order was taken. The restaurant did not seem that crowded even for a Friday night but it felt like a long wait. Unlike many Cuban places, they don't offer complimentary bread. I ordered their "platanos a tentacion" (bacon wrapped sweet plantains), grilled chicken and moros. The rice was a little hard and the chicken breast on the small side and barely seasoned other than the onions garnishing it. Service didn't feel very attentive for me as a solo diner. Between finishing my dinner and waiting to order either dessert or cafecito, I also sat and waited until a waitress finally came by. At that point, I just got the coffee and my check. I don't believe I was offered a printed receipt, just the card terminal. I asked if the tip was included and pretty much in time when I was putting the usual tip (trying to be generous with 20 percent) I was told that it was a service charge, and that the tip was extra, but had full amounts starting with 18%. So basically I paid 30% tip for a small portion of food and inattentive service. Looking back, I see that this restaurant had a different name and I had enjoyed dinner at their other location six years back. It's disappointing to see how it has fallen off. As it were, a lot of the original creative items on the menu are no longer being offered.
