They also have some of the best sandwich options like the flat bread which is so delicious and fresh. Their food options could also cost between $4-$9 depending on what you get. "Say 'ello to my little green smoothie" Scarface (OK, maybe not) What makes Tropical Smoothie Cafe different? Let's start with Mojo Tacos and a Cucumber Mojito Smoothie. This is probably the tastiest "healthy" place I have been to in a while. The menu includes tacos, flatbreads, wraps, salads, sandwiches, and of course smoothies. Flavors on the food run the gamut from Caribbean to Asian to Southwest, and include all the buzzwords like mojo, baja, luau, pesto, chipotle, Thai and Korean. The smoothies start at $3.99 for 24 ounces and cover all the colors you should have in your diet. If you add one to a meal they run $3, that's cool. Being my first time in I opted to try the Mojo Tacos and the Island Green smoothie. For the Mojo Tacos you can choose fish, chicken, steak or a vegetarian option, "Beyond Meat" chicken-less meat. The tacos come with Cucumber Salsa and romaine lettuce and a Mojo Sauce. As you might guess, I went with the "Beyond Meat", and while not anything to die for, you are also not killing anything for it either. The Mojo sauce worked well with the salsa and romaine to make for a light, fresh tasting taco. Overall 3/5. The Island Green smoothie consisted of spinach, kale, mango, pineapple, and banana. I added a shot of protein as well. This was a fantastic smoothie, way better and cheaper than the competitors in the area. Overall 5/5. Service at the counter was friendly, the restaurant is bright and clean , atmosphere is casual. A welcome addition to the Perimeter area for lunch or smoothie break. read more

Real fruits are used with some juice concentrates. I was pleasantly surprised by the 24 oz cup size. I wasn't able to distinguish individual fruits. It was just a conglomerate that made a new flavor. I thought Tropical Smoothie only existed in Florida, but to my delight, it is in Georgia, too! I grew up on these huge meal replacement size smoothies. I went with my sister and ordered a Watermelon Mojito smoothie, a seasonal limited time only new drink. It was amazing! The mint was very strong but not so much as to overwhelm the watermelon. It was a couple minutes before closing time, but the workers still let us in and made us our smoothies, although somewhat begrudgingly. Happy hour 50% off smoothies special from 7-10am everyday! If I weren't in such a rush to get to work every morning I would stop by. Because it's SO worth it. By the way, I hope people in Dunwoody realize how lucky they are for these smoothie prices. My favorite lunch that reps bring to the office! I introduced it to my wife during this quarantine and got it delivered by Door Dash. She loved it too!! Pregnant lady approved! My favorite thing is the Baja chicken wrap. It's good as is, but my favorite is customizing it to have extra chicken and light rice. I find that sometimes they go a little overboard with the rice. The kale apple salad is a must for your side. I wish I could just get a giant bowl of the salad. It's so good! My favorite smoothie is the Blimey Limey. This institution is disingenuous through false advertising. On opening day, it gave out 52 free smoothies (equal to a year's worth) to the first set of neighboring customers that stood in line outside with a free smoothie 52 count punch card. Now that they have been in business for a while, they are no longer accepting the card despite all 52 haven't been consumed. I will no longer support Tropical Smoothie. I enjoy the smoothies. That being said, my local shop has been caught red handed. I don't know if this is a company policy issue, a store specific issue, or just something that the local employees have cooked up and shared amongst themselves. But more tha. Once, and more than one employee has tipped themselves in my credit card without permission. If I ask for a receipt it does not seem to happen. If I don't, then somehow the top gets added. When I confronted the most recent employee, she played dumb. Well, that was me a few Sundays ago and I really wanted to be good and not go off diet and undo all of my hard work that morning, so I walked over to Tropical Smoothie Cafe. The entire restaurant is very open and nice, and it reminded me a little of Key West actually. The place was not packed, but there were several people ordering to go. I decided on the fish taco and the korean bulgogi taco. Both were really good and fresh. The fish taco had just the right amount of citrus dressing on it to make the fish pop, and the bulgogi was well flavored, not to sugary sweet or spicy. You're given an option of chips, a whole fruit or sliced fruits as a side. I chose the sliced fruits and was really happy to see that there weren't a lot of grape slices (it's a personal preference, I just enjoy my grapes more after they've been stomped and liquified into a wine bottle) and it was in this really light and yummy honey sauce. All smoothies are 50% off from 7-10am daily, so you can't even buy all the ingredients to make these yourself any cheaper...(as if I could, anyway!) I purchased the "Get Up & Gogi" Smoothie-(peaches, orange juice, banana, & non-fat yogurt), and I added in whey-protein & flax seed. This smoothie is HUGE, and It's a perfect, delicious on-the-go breakfast for the low, low price of $4.73 (after 50% discount.) AND...you can join the mobile text club for free and receive extra discounts & promos. I signed up and already received a text for a FREE 24oz Smoothie! So...With that said, I highly recommend this little hidden gem for your smoothie needs. They do also offer a lot of other menu items, such as breakfast sandwiches and "Artisan" tacos, but I've not tried those as of yet...However, I plan to! THANK GOODNESS FOR THIS PLACE . I feel like it's always a challenge to find a place that serves simple and fresh "fast food" outside of the Perimeter. Whenever one pops up, it mysteriously vanishes and the Subway next door reigns supreme. I suppose keeping fresh ingredients around gets pretty pricey after a while. I'm crossing my fingers that this location brings in enough business to sustain, because it is glorious. From my office, i like to walk to lunch if I don't remember to bring it from home. There are so many food options in the Perimeter area; it doesn't really make sense to drive further away. Sure there are spots like Tin Lizzy's and Zoe's Kitchen, but both are difficult to get to (think Frogger) and parking can be challenging. LOCATION// Tropical Smoothie Cafe set up shop in the old Yoforia space next to the Starbucks in the shopping center tied to the Sandy Springs Marta station. I was disappointed when it closed down, but so happy that a nail salon didn't fill the gap. THE STAFF// Yes!! Talk about hustle. Not only do they have enough folks on the clock to manage a lunch crowd, but the team runs like a well-oiled machine. Service with a smile, and efficiency to boot! THE FOOD// The smoothies... while I haven't personally ordered one, it appears they only come in one large size. They're all about five bucks a piece, and cover the gamut from Super Food smoothies to ones that are more of a dessert treat. Also, they're built the way you would make them at home! Fresh greens, and real fruit, etc. I didn't witness anyone pulling out mystery pitchers of pink and green mix from the fridge. The tacos are the only items on the menu i can vouch for, but the ingredients were fresh, and for a two-dollar taco, it was super yummy. Mojo Fish, Chipotle Chicken... and I believe the third is a Korean BBQ beef. I was in and out within ten minutes, and didn't break the bank in the process. However, I was still delivered the wrong food. The folks over at TSC apologized profusely, made me a new wrap and delivered it to my office. The gentleman delivering my replacement wrap called me to confirm he has the right order and let me know that he was on his way. He called me when he got to my office and met me in the lobby. This was my first time at the restaurant. I came because it was highly recommended by my coworkers. I purchased 2 smoothies and a chicken cheese quesadilla. After waiting for 30+ minutes for my order I just grabbed it and left without checking. I was on my lunch break and had to get back to work. Once I arrived at work to hurry and eat my food, I noticed that my chicken and cheese quesadilla did not have chicken in it and barely any cheese. However, today I am irate so knocking 1 Star. I ordered through Foodsby for a delivery to my office, with back to back meetings it's nearly impossible to get out for lunch. Not only did my order arrive 45 minutes late, but came *covered* in lettuce. Covered in lettuce despite a very clear note to leave all lettuce off, as lettuce is the most skin crawling food item of all time. So there I sat, hangrily picking individual pieces of shredded lettuce from my sandwich before able to finally eat it. Tropical Smoothie used to be really good when I first discovered them. Initially, I only got the smoothies---which are absolutely delicious, and then I ventured into the "pair and save" combos. To my despair, I've never succeeded in ordering a combo from TSC that was made correctly. I've placed and paid for orders online many times, and then at pickup, I am told they are out of whatever side item I'd chosen. My best bet has always been to choose a substitute item, even if I don't really want it, because getting TSC to do a refund is a nightmare in itself. The roasted tomato salsa was missing from my already 'very dry' southwestern quesadilla so I just threw it away. It had two chunks of chicken in it and a heap of black beans. Boring. Why advertise the edible lime straw for the watermelon mint smoothie if you're going to forget to give it to me EVERY.SINGLE.TIME? Another time, an employee admitted that she'd forgotten to add to the smoothie the two supplements that I'd paid extra for when I inquired about not being able to taste one of them. Now I am wondering if the supplements that I am playing extra for are frequently being left out. Lastly, any items that I order online are never placed together at pickup. Why should I have to search the four or five trays on the counter to see which items belong to me? TSC also has a habit of placing the wrong receipt next to the items in the pickup area. I love the smoothies here; I've never found another place to make them so deliciously fresh without all of the added sugar and unhealthy ingredients, but TSC leaves a lot to be desired.
