Went the other week, great food, great service and conversation from the bartender, charlotte. Got some work done and felt really relaxed in the environment!

Tuna melt with mac and cheese

I will start by saying that I'm a pescetarian and would not have picked such a meaty place on my own, although I do appreciate how many of their sides are vegetarian! I ordered the tuna melt, which I was super excited about but it was just okay. It did not compare to a diner tuna melt. It was so small for the price and nothing special. My side was mac and cheese on the recommendation of the waitress and while it tasted pretty good, the noodles were WAY overcooked and it was very salty. I tried my friend's broccoli casserole, and again it was good but too salty and the broccoli was so mushy. My friend really liked the mushiness, so that's definitely a personal preference. She said the brisket was so salty but tasted good. My other friend got the potato salad, and it lowkey looked like mashed potatoes. Again the potatoes were so overcooked that there were barely any chunks of potato. I will say it was pretty yummy! She got the pulled pork sandwich, which she said was fine and would get again. The waitress was super nice and attentive. We unfortunately sat near the pinball machines which was super loud. 2/3 of us would not go back. Overall the food was salty, mushy, and expensive for the portion sizes.

Sadness. How can a restaurant provide such a small amount of bbq sauce for a two meat plate. And I was charged extra by Uber Eats for the sauce. Greens were good. Brussels and turkey were ok. Brisket was dry.

Came here with my family on a stormy Saturday, so the main part of the restaurant was relatively quiet, minus the patrons in the bar area. I wanted to sample as much as I could, so I ordered the pastrami sandwich (made it a Reuben) and the 3 meat platter with sides. My chosen destiny consisted of sliced brisket, pastrami rubbed turkey, burnt ends meatloaf, beans, brussel sprouts and cucumber salad. The pastrami sandwich was delicious and perfectly toasted. My only thought was that it could've had a bit more meat on it. For the platter, the winner of the 3 meats was definitely the brisket, followed closely by the turkey. I finished my meal off by sharing the banana pudding with my daughter (who loved every bite of it ). One cool touch to this place was the pinball machines and the chance to get on their leaderboard. I may have to partake the next time I go.

Beef brisket with crispy Brussel sprout and cucumber salad

The restaurant seems to be a combination of bar food and BBQ. There's two menus for each, and note that if you order from the BBQ menu, there's an automatic 20% gratuity fee. I ordered a beef brisket platter. Overall it was amazing with good ratio of fat and lean meat. However, I would say the lean parts are a bit dry, but it still works out when eaten with the fattier part. The sides were also amazing, I got the crispy Brussel sprouts and cucumber salad, each that are such contrast of another, where one is fried good crispiness and the other is refreshing and grease-cutting. I was surprised to see burnt end on the menu, but unfortunately it is only available on Saturdays so I guess I'll need to revisit on a Saturday.

Came here a number of times a year ago. Thought I'd try it again. I won't be back. Arrived around 7:10 and sat at the bar. They were out of my first choice of beer, but were ably able to provide me my 2nd choice. I got this beer around 7:14. Over the next 55 minutes, I watched as the two bartenders helped take care of everyone to both sides of me. I made eyecontact and waved several times and was thoroughly ignored. Everyone to either side of me was helped with no issue. I then tried to walk up to the cash register to order food. I was told to get a table to be helped. Instead I decided to leave at 8:10. Waited for a full hour and never so much as got to put in a food order. I left my beer $ under my empty glass.

PB pie. This pie has got to be made by the hands of Jesus. it's just that good

Ok, so this is a BBQ restaurant. However, what caught my eye was that they served PB pie. So, at the time of this review,I'm on my second visit. Don't get me wrong. Brisket and cheddar sandwich & mac n cheese I had on my first visit was great. That PB pie, though, that alone will make me return time after time. Now I will admit $9 for a piece of pie is rather steep. However, if I had a mother in law to sell,I'd sell her every time just to buy a piece of that pie. Both times I was there, the staff was great. The inside was clean and well maintained. The tea was great.

Brunswick stew! Spicy with a pleasant surprise of brisket!

Came here by accident looking for the seafood place. While walking up, my wife and I smelled the delicious aroma of smoked meats and said "I don't know what's making that smell, but THAT'S where we're eating!" Walking in we were greeted by a friendly server who was more than willing to share the best items on the menu. We wound up ordering Brunswick stew, the brisket and cheese sandwich and the burnt ends meatloaf sandwich with broccoli casserole and corn pudding. All recommended dishes. The Brunswick stew I would call more of a "take" on a Brunswick stew, but not at all in a bad way. It had a delicious and spicy tomato stew base but had large chunks of brisket instead of pork! Also swimming in the stew were barbecue beans and okra!!! and your usual standards. Top tier! The brisket sandwich was very good with smoked onions and green & red peppers with a queso cheese. Brisket was tender and not overly dry. Sandwich had muted flavors that allowed the brisket to shine. The meatloaf sandwich was the star tho. With a chipotle mayo and crispy onions on top of a layer of crispy pickles, it was a delight. Coupled with the Carolina gold BBQ sauce was over the top. The sides were tasty and the manager friendly as he came out to check to see how we liked it (he heard we were from out of town). All in all, a completely solid BBQ place I wouldn't hesitate to return to if I was out this way again.

However, the lamb chops were a little tough. Lamb chops are a staple in Atlanta. They should fall off the bone. The spinach was ok; needed some seasoning. My husband ordered the catfish dinner with collards and Mac. The meal only comes with one piece of catfish. It definitely needs one more piece of catfish, especially considering that the cost of this dish and the cost of catfish. The collar greens were the best thing on his plate. My sister-in-law ordered the salmon dinner. The salmon was dry and overcooked.

Stopped in for a drink or two, but stayed a little bit longer for the music and The vibes. I was there on a weekend night, and it was super chill and had a really good performance situation happening on stage. This one is a little bit weird because you have to do certain things to be able to get in. It's not like it's an escape room situation, but at the same time, it's a little active. Not overly active to where you would be taxed when you get there. But you have to go follow some instructions and once you get in it's all gravy! There's a lot of space for table so you can sit in front of the stage or you can sit in the back or the bar is which is also very pristinely kept. Or their ceas behind that. And there's even a bowl of alley somewhere in the cut. It is a really really good spot. The entertainment was on point. They were playing a lot of hits, lot of old school which I appreciate it. Loved it. The drinks were fired. The bartender had a lot of personality and it was super engaging. Just what you want from Superior customer service. I would 101% go back. It was a lot of fun and a really good vibe. We just happened to walk in off of humbug, but I actually might remember reservations next time. Actually sit in the crowd to enjoy the music. Loved it.

Upon arriving, we were asked if we knew the secret passcode. I didn't realize we needed to know a passcode, but the guy gave us some hints, and we eventually got it. We were instructed to go downstairs with a paper slip and "deposit" it into a deposit box downstairs. Upon doing this, we were granted access inside! It was pretty cool honestly! We sat at the bar upon arriving and ordered some drinks. They have a really nice drink menu with different cocktails and all the other liquors. They also have a full food menu too. Some people around us got food, and honestly, it looked really good! Our bartender Joey, was awesome! He was friendly and answered some of our questions about the drinks. He even made us espresso martini shots!! Hats off to Joey! The vibes inside are very prohibition-y. They had live music when we went, and I think they have live music most days during the week too. Roaring Social is located in downtown Decatur, so not too far of a walk from many other shops/bars/restaurants. We ubered, so I am not too familiar with parking, but I think there are parking garages nearby and street parking. I would definitely come back here in the future!
